█BACKGROUND ▬ Jules was born the youngest son of Johnathan K. Ferrast and his loving wife Olivia. As the youngest of three in a poor family, Jules was babied a fair bit, but his parents kept everyone happy and healthy to the best of their ability... it was a good life. Well... At least until a terrible incident when Jules was 11. You see, the Ferrast family lived near and worked for the Ignicis family, Not too terribly far beyond the walls of vale maintained by the huntsman. At times, catastrophes are bound to happen... and in one such catastrophe, this little community came under siege by the Grimm... Those were a special variety known as 'The Apathy'. The effect of an entire pack of Apathy is simple... it drains the energy and willpower from all nearby organisms. In this terrible state, Jules was immobilized. He had to watch, unable to move or scream, or even shut his eyes as the Apathy slowly found their way into his family's home... and began to eat each and every last one of them alive. Jules only managed to survive this encounter out of sheer luck... A few hunters, who had come to investigate the residency following the Ignicis' family's servants and workers failing to collect a regularly scheduled batch of supplies, saw the Apathy through the window of his family home and intervened in time to get Jules out alive. But not before the Apathy had eaten the upper left portion of Jules' face(Including his left eye) and the majority of his right arm below the shoulder. The moment Jules was out of range of Apathy's ability he lost consciousness completely...
When Jules awoke in the hospital he was greeted by his Uncle, Lucius Maxim(his mother's older brother). Lucius was the one to inform his nephew that he was the last survivor of his family. And it was Lucius who took it upon himself to see his sister's son cared for. So it was that Jules would grow up in the Maxim household... if you could really call it that. Lucius was an unmarried man and a rather wealthy entrepreneur. He was always quite terribly busy, and had little to no time for Jules, despite his best efforts. With no one around the house to interact with, the terribly isolated Jules would often travel to his adoptive father's company with him. It was at his uncle/adoptive father's company, Maxim Technologies Incorporated, that Jules would first awaken his semblance without even realizing it. One day, while exploring the company headquarters in upper Vale, Jules discovered the engineering level. It was there that he saw one of the hunters who had saved him that day. They were currently at the M.T.I. trying to get their weapon repaired after it has sustained severe damage on a mission. Unbeknownst to Jules, the technicians had been trying and failing, to repair the weapon for hours. The young Jules had seen repairs performed many times on different weapons, so he began following the repair steps he'd heard some of the workers repeat aloud to themselves in the past. As he worked, his aura revealed itself, and the hunter(along with both technicians), watched in amazement as Jules tactfully repaired the weapon with only his one real hand.
This event made quite an impression, and as Jules finally got his first real prosthetics, he continued to amaze the techs at Maxim Technologies Incorporated by actively improving and upgrading their designs. So it was that at age 12, Jules created the Ocular Faceplate Mk1. Jules would then spend the next two years working on his own inventions and unique tech improvements to help hunters, like those who had saved his life years before. It was through this drive to make hunters more efficient, more effective, and to increase their survivability rate, that Jules received an invitation to enroll at beacon for more advanced courses... this enrollment came on two conditions. The first was that Jules would allow Beacon academy to make use of his inventions(in return providing him with field data for the improvement of said inventions. And the second, Jules lab-work at beacon was to be supervised and thoroughly documented... so as to avoid any dangerous mishaps or violations of the first condition.

█NAME ▬ Custom Ocular Face-plate Mk3(L) & and Modified Forelimb Replacement Prosthetic(R) █CYBERNETIC PIECE ▬ The Custom Ocular Face-plate Mk3 is an initial piece of hardware designed to replace a missing portion of one's face (including an eye) this piece goes over the left half of Jules' face, replacing his missing eye and the shredded section of his face with a synthetic look-alike that is similar in appearance to what his face would look like there had it not been damaged beyond the point of healing (Approximation based on the right half). Jules has been known to tinker with it a bit when he is in private. ▬ The Modified Forelimb Replacement Prosthetic started its life as a standard-issue cybernetic forelimb replacement, following the loss of Jules' arm. Since then, due in part to his passive semblance, he's found himself constantly working to improve the limb, resulting in the heavily modified variant he now possesses. This limb only looks human in the sense that it is similar in size and shape to his real limb. A school he would graduate from with top marks at age 15. █AUGMENTS █ ▬ Ocular Faceplate Augment:Optic Modes - Jules' Ocular Faceplate has two optic modes. Standard - regular vision/ and Dust detection - this mode allows Jules to see the following information by producing glowing displays of varying intensity within his field of vision: How dust is being utilized (this can even be partially through devices), how much dust is in a certain area, and what kinds of dust are being utilized. While this secondary mode is uninhibited by things such as 'Line of Sight', it has a maximum viable range of sixty feet, beyond sixty feet, everything will appear black and white. Any dust within this range will light up (similarly to thermals in heat-vision/thermal-imaging) for Jules unless it is in a container specifically designed to conceal or use up dust. While this ability technically works for the full 120-degree range of vision provided by the eye to replace the original, only 35 degrees worth of that range directly in front of Jules will appear clearly, any dust seen beyond that will be ill-defined lights in his peripheral vision. (VISUAL AIDE FOR EASE OF EXPLANATION) █ ▬ Modified Forelimb Replacement Prosthetic: Technological Interfacing - part of Jules' self-experimentation has resulted in a unique ability in which his forelimb's hand will detach from its primary controls and fold back over his wrist, allowing the wiring inside to connect directly to an appliance. The process of attaching and detaching to a piece of technological equipment takes two minutes(one post to complete the process) both ways. Once connected, Jules can directly influence the programming of the technology he is connected to by means of his semblance. The level of control depends on the following factors: How far does the new command stray from the original programming? Does the new command(this is dependant upon the situation at hand) cause the device to try and override its own safety parameters? Does the device contain artificial intelligence?
█Inventions (This section will expand as Jules invents more tools. Presently his inventions include) █ ▬ Hardstone paste - A special reactant paste that when exposed to air, will expand at a rate of 10% per second for thirty seconds. After those thirty seconds have expired, the paste will harden to be as strong as concrete. For the paste to function effectively, it must be in contact with at least two solid surfaces. Wood, Metal, Rock, and various materials of this type. While it hasn't been used for this purpose, it theoretically would activate when applied to flesh or cloth. The opening of a tube of hardstone paste is 0.5 inches thick. At maximum expansion, Hardstone paste is approximately 3 inches thick. A large-sized tube of Hardstone paste could expand to produce approximately 5 feet of this 3 inches thick concrete-like paste.(This invention May be improved with time) Hardstone paste (depending on the treatment it receives while it is hardened) can last for up to two days. (post equivalent depends on how much time passes during each respective post, "maximum deployment time is two posts) Hardstone paste, while not meant to be applied to people, can be utilized as a form of quick-hardening restraints. The paste will still take 30 seconds (2 posts max) to harden, so if the person who is being restrained is able to themselves from whatever surface they are being pasted to, they will only have to contend with the hardened material on their body, rather than actively being restrained. It is also worth noting that, until it hardens, the paste can be washed away with water or other similar liquids. Characters with a Strength talent or semblance can break out of hardstone paste. Hardstone paste is stored in a specialized tube. Presently, Jules produces these tubes in three sizes. 75 milliliters, 150 milliliters, & 300 milliliters. Jules usually never carries more than two 300 milliliter tubes on his person at any given time. He usually does not carry smaller sizes. He will usually keep three of each vial type in his lab as samples for his current batch and how to improve it. Production of hardstone paste cannot be performed in the field. █ ▬ Automatic Grappling Hook - This is a specially designed grappling hook that works based on air compression. It can be used exactly once-per mission, as it has to be reloaded in Jules' lab. When activated, the hook will fire off and latch itself to the first hard surface it comes into contact with, digging its metallic claws into that surface. The cable is strengthened enough to resist attacks from lesser varieties of Grimm. The maximum range of the hook and cable is fifty feet.(Such as Beowulfs or Ursa). (This invention May be improved with time) █ ▬ Dust-Fueled Distraction Apparatus - This is a specially designed device that, when supplied with an appropriate charge of dust (One Large Shard of Dust), will produce a hard-light projection of a hunter or huntress. This projection cannot do harm, and cannot produce noise. The projection will act erratically and viciously in an attempt to taunt or incite enemies to attack it. This projection lasts until it is shut off manually, or runs out of charge (Maximum duration of one post per charge). (This invention cannot be improved further without access to a steady supply of dust) █ITEMS █ ▬ Custom Modified Scroll - Jules' scroll has been modified in three key ways. Primarily, its ability to store and process data has been greatly accelerated. Secondarily, it has been upgraded so that it can remotely receive specific data from other scrolls that have specialized modifications for compatibility with this system. Finally, It has a built-in notification system to remind Jules that he has to sleep at least once every 9 hours (four posts). It performs this task by, once a certain time thresh-hold has been crossed, saving all presently acquired data and then shutting down. This shutdown lasts for exactly six hours, and even Jules cannot override this feature before then.
The primary modification he can impart upon another scroll the ability to perform a constant scan of the scroll's owner (as long as the scroll is on their person) while they are in combat. This scan records all personal combat analytics about that person; heart-rate, breathing, injuries sustained, aura usage, muscle motion, psychological condition, physical exhaustion, etc, etc. This information is transmitted to Jules' scroll, where the data can be reviewed and analyzed. This modification DOES NOT allow for the recording of Grimm combat data, or the combat data of OTHER people. A scroll will immediately stop recording combat data if it is removed from its owner's person. █ ▬ Portable Engineering Kit - Basic portable engineering kit. █ ▬ Programming Kit - Computer systems specifically. Jules primarily utilizes this within the spaces he finds himself working in.

█*NAME ▬ Neural Hyperconductivity █*AURA COLOR ▬ Light Blue █*DESCRIPTION █ ▬ Jules's semblance is a passive one, Neural Hyperconductivity causes his mind to work at supercomputer-like speeds, allowing him. At its final level, Jules's semblance dramatically increases his ability to perceive the world around him █*LEVEL 0 ▬ Jules's mind functions like a supercomputer. In essence, he produces thoughts, ideas, Makes internal connections, and processes information in microseconds (one-millionth of a second of time). (two posts to fully internalize the information found in... say a complex research paper). Combat-wise - The only benefit this provides is for the rapid formulation of complex and detailed strategies, as his reflexes are not enhanced. █*LEVEL 1 ▬ Jules ability to process information improves, he now processes information in nanoseconds (one-billionth of a second of time) (one post for a hundred-page dissertation -depending on how fast he is able to flip pages) Combat-wise - As with level 0 The only benefit this provides is for the rapid formulation of complex and detailed strategies, as his reflexes are not enhanced. █*LEVEL 2 ▬ Jules ability to process information improves further. Information can now be processed in Femtoseconds(trillionth of a second) (Anywhere from Within a single(Less than 1) post to a single(1) post for something as advanced as understanding an entire computer operating system.) Combat-wise - As with levels 0 and 1 The only benefit this provides is for the rapid formulation of complex and detailed strategies, as his reflexes are not enhanced. █*LEVEL 3 ▬ At this stage, Neural Hyperconductivity has advanced to a level where Jules' can now intake more information than he would otherwise be able to. This manifests itself as an incredibly in-depth vision within his field of view, allowing him to accurately track the movements of something as small as a fly from up to thirty feet away, and a person from up to three thousand feet away(this only works if they are within line of sight). The larger the object, the further he can see it from. The second effect of this final stage is hypersensitive hearing, this allows Jules to detect noises from further away, and with greater clarity, even allowing him to mentally isolate and hone in on certain noises. (Though this causes him to be oblivious to other noises at the time, even very obvious ones). As a point of example, he would be fully able to detect and comprehend a whispered conversation from 150 feet away(100 if he's in a noisy room and has to focus his hearing through all the background noise). Anything beyond this isn't likely to be audibly clear to him.
█*DRAWBACKS ▬ The Primary drawback of Neural Hyperconductivity is that it requires Jules to sleep a minimum of 10 hours a day (three to five posts give or take depending on time skips). This wouldn't be too problematic were it not for the fact that Jules has chronic somaphobia and often refuses to sleep. However, when Jules doesn't sleep his brain, for lack of a better term, "Overheats" - causing him to pass out for at minimum twenty-four hours(11 posts, depending on time skips), sometimes more. Needless to say, His uncle has on more than one occasion had to slip sleeping tablets into Jules' coffee to keep him from frying his own brain.
It is worth noting that Although Jules can process information at tremendous speeds, he is limited by human reaction times, so despite being able to detect something with his semblance at level 3, for instance, just as an example, a bullet that's about 30 feet away and rapidly closing the distance with him. He would not be able to dodge that bullet, only to realize it's coming and mentally brace for the impact. Levels 0 through 2 provide ZERO enhancements to his hearing or vision.
New Drawbacks @ LVL3: Jules increased vision renders him weaker to sudden changes in the level of light in an environment. Jules increased hearing renders him vulnerable to very loud noises. Jules now requires twelve hours of sleep a day(6 posts depending on RP time skips) instead of ten, otherwise, he will crash for a minimum of two days.(up to 24 posts, again dependent upon in RP time skips.)
TLDR: If Jules' semblance Drawback activates, he will likely be unconscious until the next time skip occurs

He had to watch, unable to move or scream, or even shut his eyes as the Apathy slowly found their way into his family's home... and began to eat each and every last one of them alive. Jules only managed to survive this encounter out of sheer luck... Experienced hunters, who had come to investigate the breach, saw the Apathy through the window of his family home and intervened in time to get Jules out alive. But not before the Apathy had eaten the upper left portion of Jules' face(Including his left eye) and the majority of his right arm below the shoulder. -------------- With no one around the house to interact with, the terribly isolated Jules would often travel to his adoptive father's company with him. This projection cannot do harm, and cannot produce noise. The projection will act erratically and viciously in an attempt to taunt or incite enemies to attack it. This projection lasts until it is shut off manually, or runs out of charge (5 minutes). I've done my best to properly comply with all "Must Edits/Clarifications" as listed currently. The only one that I believe was not properly understood is as follows.

the New Command actually doesn't have to do with the overclock. In this instance, I was describing how if Jules interfaces with a piece of technology using his arm's interface ability he can give the technology he is interfacing with new commands or programming. The New Command referenced here is a general statement referring to whatever it is Jules is trying to get the technology to do at the given time.
As an aside, I am currently talking with Narx over discord DMs about the conditions for Jules' Enrollment at Beacon. -------
That aside I'll address Curiosities accordingly.
- I had actually discussed him possibly being a noble with Narx. At present, my idea was that Maxim Technologies Incorporated would've been substantially larger in Atlas. To the point that it was one of the primary sources of technological advancement within the kingdom. Meanwhile, in Vale, the branch of Maxim Technologies run by Jules' Uncle Lucius, would've been much smaller when it was cut off from Atlas due to the fall. All the same, the smaller branch still does its best to produce advanced technologies for the advancement of the average civilian's quality of life, as well as the improvement of Hunter equipment.
- M.T.I. isn't actually a tech term. it was just me abbreviating the company name. M.T.I. = Maxim Technologies Incorporated.
- For Jules to sleep easy, he has to be in what he considers to be a 'secured space'. This is effectively a location that is completely locked down so that it can't be accessed from the outside without express permission from Jules himself. The reason for this rather outrageous sleeping arrangement simply has to do with his trauma regarding the Apathy. He wants to ensure that when he does have to sleep, even if the Apathy did appear near his location again, they could not reach him even if they tried. The last thing he wants to do is regain consciousness to find himself being eaten alive again.

(post equivalent depends on how much time passes during each respective post) Hardstone paste, while not meant to be applied to people, can be utilized as a form of quick-hardening restraints. The paste will still take 30 seconds to harden, so if the person who is being restrained is able to themselves from whatever surface they are being pasted to, they will only have to contend with the hardened material on their body, rather than actively being restrained. It is also worth noting that, until it hardens, the paste can be washed away with water or other similar liquids. Hardstone paste is stored in a specialized tube. Presently, Jules produces these tubes in three sizes. 75 milliliters, 150 milliliters, & 300 milliliters. █ ▬ Automatic Grappling Hook - This is a specially designed grappling hook that works based on air-compression. It can be used exactly once per mission, as it has to be reloaded in Jules' lab. When activated, the hook will fire off and latch itself to the first hard surface it comes into contact with, digging its metallic claws into that surface. The cable is strengthened enough to resist attacks from lesser varieties of Grimm(Such as Beowulfs or Ursa). (This invention May be improved with time) █ ▬ Dust-Fueled Distraction Apparatus - This is a specially designed device that, when supplied with an appropriate charge of dust (Equivalent to 8 dust bullets), will produce a hard-light projection of a hunter or huntress. This projection cannot do harm, and cannot produce noise. The projection will act erratically and viciously in an attempt to taunt or incite enemies to attack it. This projection lasts until it is shut off manually, or runs out of charge (5 minutes). Primarily, its ability to store and process data has been greatly accelerated. Secondarily, it has been upgraded so that it can remotely receive specific data from other scrolls that have specialized modifications for compatibility with this system. Finally, It has a built-in notification system to remind Jules that he has to sleep at least once every 72 hours. It performs this task by, once a certain time thresh-hold has been crossed, saving all presently acquired data and then shutting down. The primary modification he can impart upon another scroll the ability to perform a constant scan of the scroll's owner (as long as the scroll is on their person) while they are in combat. At this stage, I decided that the overclock ability was becoming an irritating sticking point, not only that, it ran counter-intuitively to Jules being, as I myself put it "Effectively a non-combatant" As a result, I have removed the overclock entirely.

I have also augmented levels 0 through 2 to purely focus on improving the speed at which he processes information. Leaning more heavily into the idea he is a human supercomputer
For his third level, I set it so that the upgrade was that he now can focus his hearing and vision to a great degree, as well as having increased sensitivity for both. This serves as both an improvement and a drawback. to further balance things out, I also specified the drawbacks more clearly
at levels 0 through 2, Jules now REQUIRES ten hours of sleep per night-day cycle, or he will immediately lose consciousness for a minimum of at least one whole day.
At level three, this drawback evolves, requiring twelve hours MINIMUM of sleep per night-day cycle. (I set these time frames based on the idea that remnant also works on a twenty-four-hour time schedule. If it is longer, please let me know so I can modify it accordingly)
This requirement serves as a harsher punishment for Jules' chronic insomnia, as it means that he CAN'T stay awake, even if he wants to, and denying sleep in an attempt to push forward, will render him vulnerable or otherwise useless for even longer. While this secondary mode is uninhibited by things such as 'Line of Sight', it has a maximum viable range of sixty feet, beyond sixty feet, everything will appear black and white. █ ▬ Modified Forelimb Replacement Prosthetic: Technological Interfacing - part of Jules' self-experimentation has resulted in a unique ability in which his forelimb's hand will detach from its primary controls and fold back over his wrist, allowing the wiring inside to connect directly to an appliance. The process of attaching and detaching to a piece of technological equipment takes two minutes(one post to complete the process) both ways. Once connected, Jules can directly influence the programming of the technology he is connected to by means of his semblance. The level of control depends on the following factors: How far does the new command stray from the original programming? Does the new command(this is dependant upon the situation at hand) cause the device to try and override its own safety parameters? Does the device contain artificial intelligence?
█Inventions (This section will expand as Jules invents more tools. Presently his inventions include) █ ▬ Hardstone paste - A special reactant paste that when exposed to air, will expand at a rate of 5% per second for thirty seconds. After those thirty seconds have expired, the paste will harden to be as strong as concrete. For the paste to function effectively, it must be in contact with at least two solid surfaces. Wood, Metal, Rock, and various materials of this type. While it hasn't been used for this purpose, it theoretically would activate when applied to flesh or cloth. The opening of a tube of hardstone paste is 10 millimeters in diameter, the maximum diameter of the hardstone paste when expanded under these circumstances the maximum diameter of space covered by the paste is a diameter of 25 millimeters. (This invention May be improved with time) Hardstone paste (depending on the treatment it receives while it is hardened) can last for up to two days. (post equivalent depends on how much time passes during each respective post) Hardstone paste, while not meant to be applied to people, can be utilized as a form of quick-hardening restraints. The paste will still take 30 seconds to harden, so if the person who is being restrained is able to themselves from whatever surface they are being pasted to, they will only have to contend with the hardened material on their body, rather than actively being restrained. It is also worth noting that, until it hardens, the paste can be washed away with water or other similar liquids. Characters with a Strength talent or semblance can break out of hardstone paste. Hardstone paste is stored in a specialized tube. Presently, Jules produces these tubes in three sizes. 75 milliliters, 150 milliliters, & 300 milliliters. Jules usually never carries more than two 300 milliliter tubes on his person at any given time. He usually does not carry smaller sizes. He will usually keep three of each vial type in his lab as samples for his current batch and how to improve it. Production of hardstone paste cannot be performed in the field. █ ▬ Automatic Grappling Hook - This is a specially designed grappling hook that works based on air-compression. It can be used exactly once-per mission, as it has to be reloaded in Jules' lab. When activated, the hook will fire off and latch itself to the first hard surface it comes into contact with, digging its metallic claws into that surface. The cable is strengthened enough to resist attacks from lesser varieties of Grimm. The maximum range of the hook and cable is fifty feet.(Such as Beowulfs or Ursa). (This invention May be improved with time) █ ▬ Dust-Fueled Distraction Apparatus - This is a specially designed device that, when supplied with an appropriate charge of dust (Equivalent to 8 dust bullets), will produce a hard-light projection of a hunter or huntress. This projection cannot do harm, and cannot produce noise. The projection will act erratically and viciously in an attempt to taunt or incite enemies to attack it. This projection lasts until it is shut off manually, or runs out of charge (Maximum duration of one post per charge). (This invention cannot be improved further without access to a steady supply of dust) █ITEMS █ ▬ Custom Modified Scroll - Jules' scroll has been modified in three key ways. Primarily, its ability to store and process data has been greatly accelerated. Secondarily, it has been upgraded so that it can remotely receive specific data from other scrolls that have specialized modifications for compatibility with this system. Finally, It has a built-in notification system to remind Jules that he has to sleep at least once every 72 hours. It performs this task by, once a certain time thresh-hold has been crossed, saving all presently acquired data and then shutting down. This shutdown lasts for exactly six hours, and even Jules cannot override this feature before then.
The primary modification he can impart upon another scroll the ability to perform a constant scan of the scroll's owner (as long as the scroll is on their person) while they are in combat. This scan records all personal combat analytics about that person; heart-rate, breathing, injuries sustained, aura usage, muscle motion, psychological condition, physical exhaustion, etc, etc. This information is transmitted to Jules' scroll, where the data can be reviewed and analyzed. This modification DOES NOT allow for the recording of Grimm combat data, or the combat data of OTHER people. A scroll will immediately stop recording combat data if it is removed from its owner's person. █ ▬ Portable Engineering Kit █ ▬ Programming Kit - Computer systems specifically. Jules primarily utilizes this within the spaces he finds himself working in.

At its final level, Jules's semblance dramatically increases his ability to perceive the world around him █*LEVEL 0 ▬ Jules's mind functions like a supercomputer. In essence, he produces thoughts, ideas, Makes internal connections, and processes information in microseconds (one-millionth of a second of time) █*LEVEL 1 ▬ Jules ability to process information improves, he now processes information in nanoseconds (one-billionth of a second of time) █*LEVEL 2 ▬ Jules ability to process information improves further. Information can now be processed in Femtoseconds(trillionth of a second) █*LEVEL 3 ▬ At this stage, Neural Hyperconductivity has advanced to a level where Jules' can now intake more information than he would otherwise be able to. This manifests itself as an incredibly in-depth vision within his field of view, allowing him to accurately track the movements of something as small as a fly from up to thirty feet away. The larger the object, the further he can see it from. The second effect of this final stage is hypersensitive hearing, this allows Jules to detect noises from further away, and with greater clarity, even allowing him to mentally isolate and hone in on certain noises(Though this causes him to be oblivious to other noises at the time, even very obvious ones). New Drawbacks: Jules increased vision renders him weaker to sudden changes in the level of light in an environment. Jules increased hearing renders him vulnerable to very loud noises. Jules now requires twelve hours of sleep a day instead of ten, otherwise, he will crash for a minimum of two days. █*DRAWBACKS ▬ The Primary drawback of Neural Hyperconductivity is that it requires Jules to sleep a minimum of ten hours a day. This wouldn't be too problematic were it not for the fact that Jules is a chronic insomniac and often refuses to sleep. However, when Jules doesn't sleep his brain, for lack of a better term, "Overheats" - causing him to pass out for at minimum twenty-four hours, sometimes more. Needless to say, His uncle has on more than one occasion had to slip sleeping tablets into Jules' coffee to keep him from frying his own brain.

Converted Millimeters to inches and provided an approximation of what one entire large-sized tube of hard-paste would equate to if emptied during a mission.

Both of these first two have been clarified and resolved. The third is an accurate statement I was working off of mentally during the last update.

I have switched all metrics regarding the semblance to have a specified post count alongside a rough guess of the day and a statement that this does not account for IRP timeskips.
I also added a TL: DR which basically says that if his drawback activates at any point, he's basically unconscious until the next time skip takes place. That's basically how it will be if my understanding is correct.

As I discussed with you, the terminology has been changed. He is not an Insomniac, he is Somaphobic, meaning he can sleep but is terrified of doing so.

Appropriate adjustments and Analogies for sensitivity have been applied.

This was already the idea I was working under, but I have added an analogy to specify this in the actual drawbacks section. I used level 3s "A fly at 30 feet" metric as a point of reference in making this analogy.
It is worth noting that Although Jules can process information at tremendous speeds, he is limited by human reaction times, so despite being able to detect something with his semblance at level 3, for instance, just as an example, a bullet that's about 30 feet away and rapidly closing the distance with him. He would not be able to dodge that bullet, only to realize it's coming and mentally brace for the impact. Levels 0 through 2 provide ZERO enhancements to his hearing or vision.

█BACKGROUND ▬ Jules was born the youngest son of Johnathan K. Ferrast and his loving wife Olivia. As the youngest of three in a poor family, Jules was babied a fair bit, but his parents kept everyone happy and healthy to the best of their ability... it was a good life. Well... At least until a terrible incident when Jules was 11. You see, the Ferrast family lived near and worked for the Ignicis family, Not too terribly far beyond the walls of vale maintained by the huntsman. At times, catastrophes are bound to happen... and in one such catastrophe, this little community came under siege by the Grimm... Those were a special variety known as 'The Apathy'. The effect of an entire pack of Apathy is simple... it drains the energy and willpower from all nearby organisms. In this terrible state, Jules was immobilized. He had to watch, unable to move or scream, or even shut his eyes as the Apathy slowly found their way into his family's home... and began to eat each and every last one of them alive. A few hunters, who had come to investigate the residency following the Ignicis' family's servants and workers failing to collect a regularly scheduled batch of supplies, saw the Apathy through the window of his family home and intervened in time to get Jules out alive. But not before the Apathy had eaten the upper left portion of Jules' face(Including his left eye) and the majority of his right arm below the shoulder. The moment Jules was out of range of Apathy's ability he lost consciousness completely...
When Jules awoke in the hospital he was greeted by his Uncle, Lucius Maxim(his mother's older brother). Lucius was the one to inform his nephew that he was the last survivor of his family. And it was Lucius who took it upon himself to see his sister's son cared for. So it was that Jules would grow up in the Maxim household... if you could really call it that. Lucius was an unmarried man and a rather wealthy entrepreneur. He was always quite terribly busy, and had little to no time for Jules, despite his best efforts. With no one around the house to interact with, the terribly isolated Jules would often travel to his adoptive father's company with him. It was at his uncle/adoptive father's company, Maxim Technologies Incorporated, that Jules would first awaken his semblance without even realizing it. One day, while exploring the company headquarters in upper Vale, Jules discovered the engineering level. It was there that he saw one of the hunters who had saved him that day. They were currently at the M.T.I. trying to get their weapon repaired after it has sustained severe damage on a mission. Unbeknownst to Jules, the technicians had been trying and failing, to repair the weapon for hours. The young Jules had seen repairs performed many times on different weapons, so he began following the repair steps he'd heard some of the workers repeat aloud to themselves in the past. As he worked, his aura revealed itself, and the hunter(along with both technicians), watched in amazement as Jules tactfully repaired the weapon with only his one real hand.
This event made quite an impression, and as Jules finally got his first real prosthetics, he continued to amaze the techs at Maxim Technologies Incorporated by actively improving and upgrading their designs. Eventually, Lucius decided to allocate Jules enough (non-dust) resources to design and improve upon his own prosthetics as he so chose. So it was that at age 12, Jules created the Ocular Faceplate Mk1. Not long after, at the suggestion of Lucius and the hunter Jules has assisted, he enlisted in one of the sparse tech-based schools in Vale. A school he would graduate from with top marks at age 15. Jules would then spend the next two years working on his own inventions and unique tech improvements to help hunters, like those who had saved his life years before. It was through this drive to make hunters more efficient, more effective, and to increase their survivability rate, that Jules received an invitation to enroll at beacon for more advanced courses... this enrollment came on two conditions. The first was that Jules would allow Beacon academy to make use of his inventions(in return providing him with field data for the improvement of said inventions. And the second, Jules lab-work at beacon was to be supervised and thoroughly documented... so as to avoid any dangerous mishaps or violations of the first condition.
Jules accepted these terms and has since enrolled at Beacon.

█NAME ▬ Custom Ocular Face-plate Mk3(L) & and Modified Forelimb Replacement Prosthetic(R) █CYBERNETIC PIECE ▬ The Custom Ocular Face-plate Mk3 is an initial piece of hardware designed to replace a missing portion of one's face (including an eye) this piece goes over the left half of Jules' face, replacing his missing eye and the shredded section of his face with a synthetic look-alike that is similar in appearance to what his face would look like there had it not been damaged beyond the point of healing (Approximation based on the right half). Jules has been known to tinker with it a bit when he is in private. ▬ The Modified Forelimb Replacement Prosthetic started its life as a standard-issue cybernetic forelimb replacement, following the loss of Jules' arm. Since then, due in part to his passive semblance, he's found himself constantly working to improve the limb, resulting in the heavily modified variant he now possesses. This limb only looks human in the sense that it is similar in size and shape to his real limb. It does not attempt to synthetically appear as living tissue like his faceplate attempts to. █WEAPONIZATION ▬ Neither of Jules' cybernetics are properly modified with weapon systems. █ACQUISITION ▬ At times, catastrophes are bound to happen... and in one such catastrophe, the wall was breached by the Grimm... Among those Grimm, were a special variety known as 'The Apathy'. The effect of an entire pack of Apathy is simple... it drains the energy and willpower from all nearby organisms. A school he would graduate from with top marks at age 15. █AUGMENTS █ ▬ Ocular Faceplate Augment:Optic Modes - Jules' Ocular Faceplate has two optic modes. Standard - regular vision/ and Dust detection - this mode allows Jules to see the following information by producing glowing displays of varying intensity within his field of vision: How dust is being utilized (this can even be partially through devices), how much dust is in a certain area, and what kinds of dust are being utilized. While this secondary mode is uninhibited by things such as 'Line of Sight', it has a maximum viable range of sixty feet, beyond sixty feet, everything will appear black and white. Any dust within this range will light up (similarly to thermals in heat-vision/thermal-imaging) for Jules unless it is in a container specifically designed to conceal or use up dust. While this ability technically works for the full 120-degree range of vision provided by the eye to replace the original, only 35 degrees worth of that range directly in front of Jules will appear clearly, any dust seen beyond that will be ill-defined lights in his peripheral vision. (VISUAL AIDE FOR EASE OF EXPLANATION) █ ▬ Modified Forelimb Replacement Prosthetic: Technological Interfacing - part of Jules' self-experimentation has resulted in a unique ability in which his forelimb's hand will detach from its primary controls and fold back over his wrist, allowing the wiring inside to connect directly to an appliance. The process of attaching and detaching to a piece of technological equipment takes two minutes(one post to complete the process) both ways. Once connected, Jules can directly influence the programming of the technology he is connected to by means of his semblance. The level of control depends on the following factors: How far does the new command stray from the original programming? Does the new command(this is dependant upon the situation at hand) cause the device to try and override its own safety parameters? Does the device contain artificial intelligence?
█Inventions (This section will expand as Jules invents more tools. Presently his inventions include) █ ▬ Hardstone paste - A special reactant paste that when exposed to air, will expand at a rate of 10% per second for thirty seconds. After those thirty seconds have expired, the paste will harden to be as strong as concrete. For the paste to function effectively, it must be in contact with at least two solid surfaces. Wood, Metal, Rock, and various materials of this type. While it hasn't been used for this purpose, it theoretically would activate when applied to flesh or cloth. The opening of a tube of hardstone paste is 0.5 inches thick. At maximum expansion, Hardstone paste is approximately 3 inches thick. A large-sized tube of Hardstone paste could expand to produce approximately 5 feet of this 3 inches thick concrete-like paste.(This invention May be improved with time) Hardstone paste (depending on the treatment it receives while it is hardened) can last for up to two days. (post equivalent depends on how much time passes during each respective post) Hardstone paste, while not meant to be applied to people, can be utilized as a form of quick-hardening restraints. The paste will still take 30 seconds to harden, so if the person who is being restrained is able to themselves from whatever surface they are being pasted to, they will only have to contend with the hardened material on their body, rather than actively being restrained. It is also worth noting that, until it hardens, the paste can be washed away with water or other similar liquids. Characters with a Strength talent or semblance can break out of hardstone paste. Hardstone paste is stored in a specialized tube. Presently, Jules produces these tubes in three sizes. 75 milliliters, 150 milliliters, & 300 milliliters. Jules usually never carries more than two 300 milliliter tubes on his person at any given time. He usually does not carry smaller sizes. He will usually keep three of each vial type in his lab as samples for his current batch and how to improve it. Production of hardstone paste cannot be performed in the field. █ ▬ Automatic Grappling Hook - This is a specially designed grappling hook that works based on air compression. It can be used exactly once-per mission, as it has to be reloaded in Jules' lab. When activated, the hook will fire off and latch itself to the first hard surface it comes into contact with, digging its metallic claws into that surface. The cable is strengthened enough to resist attacks from lesser varieties of Grimm. The maximum range of the hook and cable is fifty feet.(Such as Beowulfs or Ursa). (This invention May be improved with time) █ ▬ Dust-Fueled Distraction Apparatus - This is a specially designed device that, when supplied with an appropriate charge of dust (One Large Shard of Dust), will produce a hard-light projection of a hunter or huntress. This projection cannot do harm, and cannot produce noise. The projection will act erratically and viciously in an attempt to taunt or incite enemies to attack it. This projection lasts until it is shut off manually, or runs out of charge (Maximum duration of one post per charge). (This invention cannot be improved further without access to a steady supply of dust) █ITEMS █ ▬ Custom Modified Scroll - Jules' scroll has been modified in three key ways. Primarily, its ability to store and process data has been greatly accelerated. Secondarily, it has been upgraded so that it can remotely receive specific data from other scrolls that have specialized modifications for compatibility with this system. Finally, It has a built-in notification system to remind Jules that he has to sleep at least once every 9 hours (four posts). It performs this task by, once a certain time thresh-hold has been crossed, saving all presently acquired data and then shutting down. This shutdown lasts for exactly six hours, and even Jules cannot override this feature before then.
The primary modification he can impart upon another scroll the ability to perform a constant scan of the scroll's owner (as long as the scroll is on their person) while they are in combat. This scan records all personal combat analytics about that person; heart-rate, breathing, injuries sustained, aura usage, muscle motion, psychological condition, physical exhaustion, etc, etc. This information is transmitted to Jules' scroll, where the data can be reviewed and analyzed. This modification DOES NOT allow for the recording of Grimm combat data, or the combat data of OTHER people. A scroll will immediately stop recording combat data if it is removed from its owner's person. █ ▬ Portable Engineering Kit - Basic portable engineering kit. █ ▬ Programming Kit - Computer systems specifically. Jules primarily utilizes this within the spaces he finds himself working in.

█*NAME ▬ Neural Hyperconductivity █*AURA COLOR ▬ Light Blue █*DESCRIPTION █ ▬ Jules's semblance is a passive one, Neural Hyperconductivity causes his mind to work at supercomputer-like speeds, allowing him. At its final level, Jules's semblance dramatically increases his ability to perceive the world around him █*LEVEL 0 ▬ Jules's mind functions like a supercomputer. In essence, he produces thoughts, ideas, Makes internal connections, and processes information in microseconds (one-millionth of a second of time). (two posts to fully internalize the information found in... say a complex research paper). Combat-wise - The only benefit this provides is for the rapid formulation of complex and detailed strategies, as his reflexes are not enhanced. █*LEVEL 1 ▬ Jules ability to process information improves, he now processes information in nanoseconds (one-billionth of a second of time) (one post for a hundred-page dissertation -depending on how fast he is able to flip pages) Combat-wise - As with level 0 The only benefit this provides is for the rapid formulation of complex and detailed strategies, as his reflexes are not enhanced. █*LEVEL 2 ▬ Jules ability to process information improves further. Information can now be processed in Femtoseconds(trillionth of a second) (Anywhere from Within a single(Less than 1) post to a single(1) post for something as advanced as understanding an entire computer operating system.) Combat-wise - As with levels 0 and 1 The only benefit this provides is for the rapid formulation of complex and detailed strategies, as his reflexes are not enhanced. █*LEVEL 3 ▬ At this stage, Neural Hyperconductivity has advanced to a level where Jules' can now intake more information than he would otherwise be able to. This manifests itself as an incredibly in-depth vision within his field of view, allowing him to accurately track the movements of something as small as a fly from up to thirty feet away, and a person from up to three thousand feet away(this only works if they are within line of sight). The larger the object, the further he can see it from. The second effect of this final stage is hypersensitive hearing, this allows Jules to detect noises from further away, and with greater clarity, even allowing him to mentally isolate and hone in on certain noises. (Though this causes him to be oblivious to other noises at the time, even very obvious ones). As a point of example, he would be fully able to detect and comprehend a whispered conversation from 150 feet away(100 if he's in a noisy room and has to focus his hearing through all the background noise). Anything beyond this isn't likely to be audibly clear to him.
█*DRAWBACKS ▬ The Primary drawback of Neural Hyperconductivity is that it requires Jules to sleep a minimum of 10 hours a day (three to five posts give or take depending on time skips). This wouldn't be too problematic were it not for the fact that Jules has chronic somaphobia and often refuses to sleep. However, when Jules doesn't sleep his brain, for lack of a better term, "Overheats" - causing him to pass out for at minimum twenty-four hours(11 posts, depending on time skips), sometimes more. Needless to say, His uncle has on more than one occasion had to slip sleeping tablets into Jules' coffee to keep him from frying his own brain.
It is worth noting that Although Jules can process information at tremendous speeds, he is limited by human reaction times, so despite being able to detect something with his semblance at level 3, for instance, just as an example, a bullet that's about 30 feet away and rapidly closing the distance with him. He would not be able to dodge that bullet, only to realize it's coming and mentally brace for the impact. Levels 0 through 2 provide ZERO enhancements to his hearing or vision.
New Drawbacks @ LVL3: Jules increased vision renders him weaker to sudden changes in the level of light in an environment. Jules increased hearing renders him vulnerable to very loud noises. Jules now requires twelve hours of sleep a day(6 posts depending on RP time skips) instead of ten, otherwise, he will crash for a minimum of two days.(up to 24 posts, again dependent upon in RP time skips.)
TLDR: If Jules' semblance Drawback activates, he will likely be unconscious until the next time skip occurs
