It feels like a generational thing, since, for starters, their parents were raised in the Muromachi Period, whereas Akira was born a pure Gen Z brat. His parents stuck to their traditional roles as tanukis in society by joining widely successful business ventures and pulling small hijinks here and there, but Akira saw the world in a different way than they did. If tanukis were infamous for using leaves as illusions for monetary value, than what was the point of money? It was stupid. Money stupid. F capitalism. So they decided to do the rational thing: join a heist gang. Okay, so maybe it's not that rational, but when you're a kid, you do dumb s**t. They worked as a transporter, moving money in the guise of anything less conspicuous. And they were good at it.
But all empires must fall eventually, and Akira was eventually caught. By the tail, actually. While transformed as a tanuki, one of their older siblings had caught onto what the kid was doing and busted them. Their parents? Heartbroken. Disappointed. Kinda laughing at the situation, but that's not important. What was important now is that Akira is being forced to spend their high school years at some dumb school for dummies...or something. They weren't really paying attention while they were getting lectured. They were too busy putting hours into Animal Crossing.
Personality: Loud, stupid, and overwhelmingly compassionate. That's probably the best way to describe Akira. Don't get them wrong, they get into a lot of fights because of how #nofilter their mouth can be, but at their core, a lot of what Akira does is out of love. Or rebellion. Honestly, it depends on the day. They're the kinda friend that would say "hey, lets go to the beach! Beach...Nicki Minjaj" but end up forcing all the planning on someone else with better organization skills. They know their strengths and they stick to them. Those strengths include blind loyalty, taking a hit for their friends, and getting the attention of cops and servers alike with their loud mouth.
And listen, they're an utter dumbass. Like, they would easily try putting a fork in an electric socket just to see what happens. But also, they have an uncanny ability to grasp basic cues and themes. They'll read something like Lord of the Flies and immediately go, "That was stupid. Those boys were stupid. The author is stupid. They're stupid cuz they're rich, entitled brats who grew up with everything, and so was the author. b*****d doesn't understand the every man and it shows. 0/10 would recommend again."
So, stupid, but keen and observant in a way that almost gets the point.
Crush: "Dude I just got here" Dorm Number: Co-Ed 6 Other: tab ✘ They may be stupid, but they're somehow like really good at math tab ✘ Their parents are like, extremely rich, which makes them stealing money all the more hilarious
