oO Personality Oo Kasumi is simply happy to be. It’s like her default mode on birth was set to ‘cheery’. Rarely does anybody catch this little girl with a frown on her face. She enjoys being happy and making others happy so even when she’s feeling down only those closest to her would be able to tell the difference. Despite her cheerful disposition, she doesn’t let a lot of people really in close. She keeps her circle small and close but she would do everything for her family, friends, her people, and her mother tree. This comes with a little bump in the road however, as a lot of times she has trouble making those big decisions. In part, it's because of the close bonds she has that she worries how her decisions and actions will affect others. In another way, she loves how things are and doesn’t want them to change. Kasu has a slight fear of the future. Not knowing what’s coming and what may change worries her so she tries to be extra careful on those big decisions, sometimes making her unable to even decide.
oO History Oo
Kasumi’s history started before she was even an idea, a thought. Nalini had come to a point in her life where she wasn’t sure which direction to go. Did she still really hold the same beliefs and ideals of the other Elarians? She had heard from her sister that there was a small group of elarian planning to travel to the new islands, seeming to think they had an important mission along with others who felt like their beliefs weren’t aligning with the norm. Nalini’s sister had refused to go but knew her own sister has having a hard time finding her place after having her own child so she shared the information. Wondering if it was a new start for them, Nalini decided to travel to Kahikina with her daughter Miovadi who was just a youngling at the time. It was only after they arrived that she realized the main group that had decided to leave had taken a seed from Elzira. She had been right and had found a new purpose for herself and her daughter and more freedom to be who they were. Nalini began to worry that her one decision stripped her only daughter of so many choices by taking her away from home as well as her own dreams for a larger family, she found herself in tears at Esena’s trunk as she asked for guidance. Should she stay here and protect Esena as she had decided to do when she had realized what this whole trip had been about? Or should she return home if only to let her daughter return and have the chance at a life she might have taken from her daughter and perhaps her sister elarian would take her back... She had left Esena as split as she had been when she arrived. Yet, a word stuck with her, ‘home’. Nalini decided it meant they should go home so she asked Mio to help pack up their meager belongings. While doing this, one of the elder Elarians who had taken over what would have been a priestess’ duties rushed to them. “Nalini you must come quickly. Esena has bloomed and she has told us that one of the blooms is for you.” Nalini had laughed in shock, Esena hadn’t been trying to tell her to go home. She had been telling Nalini that she WAS home.
The bliss period lasted for a while as she did what she was able to take care of Kasumi’s bloom and tears fell when she finally held the little Elidae in her arms, as one of the first few Elidae she felt doubly blessed to have been chosen. Surprise motherhood took everything she had, her time and attention away from her first born. Nalini felt that Mio was old enough now to not need the same attention and hoped her elarian daughter would explore and grow without a mother’s watchful eye. Kasumi however relished every minute of her mother’s attention. She loved her little family and hoped nothing would ever change.
