Quote: The Charity Benefit (2) - The Charity Benefit has drawn a social crowd and they seem keen to make conversation as well as friends. The room is full of compliments and kind words and every now and then it looks like you're catching someone's eye and one person in particular seems to be paying more attention to you than the others. The stranger lingers by a display table showcasing some of the donated auction items. They look familiar but you can’t quite place why. If you try to approach them, the stranger suddenly seems to disappear before your eyes. It might be easy to assume they got lost in the crowd, but any examination of the room makes it hard to tell where they’ve gone. More than that, it seems like sometimes you catch a glimpse of them in one part of the room only to see them disappear in the blink of an eye and immediately appear across the room in a different spot entirely. It’s impossible to get close to them, and the sensation of eyes on you never really fades. Repeat prompt for Hux, take place right after this They had moved away from the item tables after the small incident with feelings that had cropped up. Hux having lead Alex towards a wall to relax for a moment while they waited the last bit of time before the auction to begin, though it shouldn't take too long by now. However as they walked Hux's shoulders tensed up and slightly drew up as that watched feeling crept up his back once again. Uncomfortable again, and very much hoping that it was not in fact the guy from before and something more innocent that would leave the watcher turning away a moment later, Hux turned his eyes to the crowd.
The tall man's posture continued to seem to shrink into itself when looking up confirmed it was in fact the same vaguely familiar man from before staring with intent eyes. The only difference was Hux couldn't tell if the man was only staring at him or if he was also staring at Alex. Just thinking about it had Hux taking a half step in front of the smaller man as if the shield him if necessary. "Alex, the man is back." He whispered, dropping the normal nickname from shear uncomfortableness of the situation. "He's the one in the dark green suit next to the table with the funky statue." If said statue looked like someone had tried to make a spiral out of playdough then gave up half way and trying to make it a triangle, well it was best to not stare at it too long or it might break from the shear weight of eyes.

Walking along side his cousin Alexandre turned his gaze towards the other, something was off with his cousin, he knew his elder cousin well enough to read his body language. The ashen blond had just been going to speak up, to ask about the items they'd seen, when he saw him tense and look around.
"Hudson?" Standing still at his cousins side, greyish eyes took the time to look around them as well, as if he knew whatever it was his cousin was looking for. "Is he here again?" He asked, keeping his voice low, he didn't like this feeling of not being able to help. He couldn't stop whoever this was. Nodding his head the blonds attention turned to where his cousin told him the man was. "He certainly stands out...a green suit...he doesn't hide well." Which meant, as far as he figured, that the man was confident that if anyone went for him he could handle it. It was hard to hide in a color like that.
"Something is off about him...and why a stand out color. If you want to spy on people you want to blend in. He'd be easy to find and track down in a crowd."

Hux gave the staring man an uncomfortable glare but knew it wouldn't do anything to stop the stranger so he tried his best to focus on Alex. "He really doesn't and yet no one else seems to be paying him any mind." The taller blond said, which to him meant that it was another tick in the 'something magic is happening' column.
"Not sure how effective you can be as a spy if you are caught staring and keep doing it blatantly anyway." He certainly wouldn't do anything to give away the fact that he was Cuprite while being so brazenly watched for instance after all. Heck he didn't even want to go look at more items on the vague chance that it could tip the watcher off to something he hadn't want to give way and he knew that was a silly notion. "Easy to track yeah but with his teleporting he's not easy to catch either."

"Which is strange. Magic is a thing, we both know that, and to not be noticed...in that color." Shaking his head as he finished he took a hold of his cousins sleeve. "It's magic of some kind. It's not a Negaverse uniform...doesn't mean one isn't under that." It wasn't like he could hide his uniform under normal clothing but he knew some who could, lucky for them, his uniform was bulky and had a load of layers.
"The teleporting does make him difficult...and it makes me wonder." But with no way to power up himself, not without some senshi or knight being in the room and spotting him, he couldn't tell if there was an energy signature or not. He didn't like this. It wasn't like he hadn't been caught in Negaverse plots before, without a clue that the Negaverse was running any sort of plan. "Nothing insane has happened yet...no killer clowns, circus music, or anything else insane...so I doubt Obsidian is involved...not that I've seen him in a long time...nor have I heard his name mentioned." Both good things. As much as he didn't think of the red haired General as creepy anymore, he'd grown out of that, he did still wonder about the others stability. He was a good fighter though, without a doubt, but he'd rather if given the choice to have Wolframite or Zinkenite at h is side or covering his back.
"We just need to keep an eye on this one...whatever we do tonight. I don't trust it. We've fallen prey to our sides own plans before."

Honestly the fact that the man was doing something magic and the only person who noticed besides him had to be pointed to said man made it even creepier somehow. "That's true. It could be some Negaverse agent that's teleporting around that has some way to make people not notice. But if so then why would they? And why stare at me?" His thoughts once again turned to wondering if Alex was the true target of this and that just made him frown.
The frown though reluctantly lifted when Alex started to list of reasons why it couldn't be Obsidian behind this. "Very true. I just wish there was a way to find out if someone on our side was behind this for sure. Though maybe this is their way of doing so?" His brow furrowed as he thought out loud on the last bit. "Nope, still doesn't make sense for that idea."

"I honestly don't think it's anyone from our side." Not that he hadn't been caught in the middle of Negaverse incidents before, he most certainly had been caught unawares, but this just didn't seem like it was the case. No one looked tired enough to have had energy drained...nothing seemed off in the right ways.
"I wish I could find out also, for sure, but I'd have to have a way to contact everyone." And even he lacked those means. He could power up and call out to anyone but it would only reach people also powered up - not enough people. And even if this was an officer they could ignore it, act like they weren't being called out to.
"All we can do it stay together. I don't like knowing something is moving around here like that..." He didn't like it one bit. He couldn't do anything right now - couldn't power up and couldn't reach out. He was without his usual strength and power...he was a civilian right now and that meant he was like everyone else in this room. It was sometimes startling how different you felt from one to the other - powered to civilian. The lack of power being the big reason....not being able to handle things as well.

"Well if that's what you think then I'm sure it highly likely to be the truth, after all you do know more about how the higher ups work then I do." He said with a small shrug. He'd been a Lieutenant for a few years at this point and while yes he did pick up things, the only person that was high enough on the totem pole to pull off a stunt like this that he regularly interacted with was Alex. "Don't worry, I don't think either one of us plan on straying too far at this point of time."
While he hadn't really stopped paying attention to the stranger during his talks with Alex, he had let his focus mostly lay with his cousin so when the feeling of being watched disappeared again Hux had to blink in surprise for a moment before looking around. The oddly dressed stalker seemed to have vanished completely like he had before, not even showing up in odd corners of the room. "Looks like he's gone again, hopefully he'll stay away this time."

"No, certainly not." He didn't think this was something Negaverse related but that didn't meant he trusted it, it meant he trusted it even less. At least he knew what to expect from certain officers, he's known some personally and seen how others worked. He could figure out things if he knew someone was behind it, so long as he knew who, but this wasn't that - he was nearly sure of it.
"We can hope...though I wonder if that's a good or a bad thing. We can hope for the best." But be prepared for the worst, though what that could be he honestly wasn't sure. At this point he'd seen and done so much he really wasn't sure what a worst case scenario was or could even be...how do you top caged up in space? Or winding up in space on the back of a giant youma? It seemed when one thing happened that was the worst...something new eventually happened that was worse. There seemed no limit really.
"I'll keep an eye out for him. Enjoy looking over the times Hudson - see if you like anything. I'll guard for now." Shrugging as he spoke so casually. Clearly he'd spent a lot of years involved in a war and it showed in so many ways.

"Well here's hoping it's a good thing and maybe the rest of the night will be quiet." Hux said, though he would admit that might be a bit too optimistic. Still it was a hope that he wasn't ready to give up on just yet.
At his cousin's words, Hux got a smile on his face and gave a small, fond shake of the head. "I'm not going to let you stay on the look out on your owe of course but thanks for having my back." Even with the weirdness of the night already he would rather Alex took some of the time to relax a bit himself but knew it wouldn't be likely by this point. "Come on, let's just go back to looking around."

His cousin thankfully knew him well, knew he was a dedicated sort, he took the Negaverse and his part in it seriously..even when as a civilian. He didn't let it run his life, though it had ruined his relationship with Aiden, he didn't let it control everything.
Smiling he nodded his head, giving his cousin a gentle nudge. "Alright, lets see if we find anything good enough to bring home." Maybe there would be something they could bring home and enjoy. He needed to go out with Hudson more often, he really did, it wasn't often enough that the cousins spent time outside of the house together. He still couldn't believe he and his cousin got on so well under the same roof and that it had lasted, he was happy with it though. He had come to realize that he sort of needed Hudson in his life...he filled a spot that he needed filled. And he normally didn't like being around his family.
