Uaithne is a sluagh given a smooth piece of granite. It is a worry stone tumbled and polished by man. His skin is smooth and dry and he has stone-like scales and stone-like arms and legs. His face is handsome in the way of the fae, and unnerving or downright scary as he has no reason to smile at you. He would just as soon step on your head as shake your hand.


His journal is a simple zippered 3-ring binder with lots of pockets. Here he keeps a journal written on a pad of paper, and sketches in another pad. He also keeps a calculator, comics and magazines, and pencil pouch with drawing and writing supplies. He keeps it in a small backpack that is on him at all times.

[History]

Like other meta children, Uaithne was given an object that his body absorbed and he went home with his new adoptive parents. Parents were a dedicated couple, one a sluagh and one an elf. To say that they had a simple, safe, and happy life would be to lie. They were not safe when they went outside of Sanctuary together, so they rarely did. But even though they were not safe in the outside world, they were as happy as could be.

Uaithne's parents were unable to marry but they loved each other and they loved Uaithne. He knew this love himself, as it was given to him freely, and so he felt love and gave it in return. So he was happy in that respect. Very happy.

But then Sanctuary closed. It was no longer safe. The world was in chaos and they failed to find safety in Morrad. One day, while he was at home with his elven father, his mother was murdered in a skirmish for being a sluagh. She was just returning home with from work but she was killed. As the saying goes, she didn't run fast enough. To her family it was senseless and without sufficient motive.

Now Uaithne lives with his elven father. They moved to Elm'or for a time after the incident in Morrad. He does his best for him, and now that Sanctuary is open again, they are able to live there in peace. But who knows what the world will throw at them next?

[Background] Uaithne lives the life of an only child in a single parent household. Compounding that complicated life is the fact that his other parent was murdered. He feels more anger and rebelliousness than most and will probably be very difficult to handle as he grows into a teen.

He loves his surviving guardian very much. Alphege is grieving in his own way, and forces himself to give his love solely to Uaithne. Without his lover and Uaithne's mother figure, he has difficulty doing this. But he is proud and determined so Uaithne feels that love keenly. Uaithne is grieving too, and is angry. He rarely takes it out on Alphege, but he will have outbursts occasionally. When he's alone or with others he will lash out, and his understanding of his anger is tumultuous; it is troubling. Together, they live in a small home on the Sanctuary campus. Uaithne will sit alone in the grass drawing pictures in his ever-present sketchpad and try to work through his feelings.

[Granite Worry Stone]

This pebble is actually a granite worry stone that was given to him as a keepsake from his adoptive mother. She studied rocks. "This is my favorite. Here, you can have it. I'll find another." When Uaithne held it for the first time, it seemed to mold to his fingers and was warm to the touch. He firmly believes that there is still a trace of his mother in that stone, and therefore in him.

His journal was a gift from his adoptive parents. It is cherished and well-worn. He keeps everything of value to him in this journal, and tucked away in his backpack.

Home is Uaithne's tiny room at Sanctuary. It is in a little house that he shares with his adoptive father. It is more than enough space for him, as he has very few personal possessions.
