The child was a rare sluagh meta. Rarer still was that the multiracial couple consisted of an elf and a sluagh. The match was a no-brainer, really. And so despite the racial abnormality, the whole process of adoption moved forward smoothly. Alphege and Siofra named the child Uaithe, which apparently means "green," and suits him in the sense that he was given a green-colored granite worry stone as his item.

"I love rocks, and," she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small stone barely larger than her thumb, "I thought you might like this one. It's my favorite. I'll find another. Maybe you can help me. Would you like that?"

A flash of light engulfed the room. The child nodded slowly. His arms and legs seemed suddenly heavy-- very heavy. Yes, they were heavy and stone-like, cool to the touch and almost clay-like in consistency.

The sluagh Siofra was scary, as much as say, gravity-defying hellfire with a moaning face, and could not easily obtain or hold down a job. So long before Uaithne she became an adventurer to make ends meet. A proficient archer, she served that function within her party, though her passion was geomancy. Every now and again she aligned with ley lines and surprised even the snotty wizard with a new move. Elven stablemaster Alphege was still a young elf who had big dreams of being a breeder of renown. For all intents and purposes he was a stay-at-home dad whose son came with him to work next door, as they lived next door to that inn and its stable.

The couple was based out of Morrad. Their life was a little stressful due to their location. But they raised their son in a warm, safe home environment. That, if nothing else, could be controlled and maintained for their son as well as themselves. In the meantime they taught him about their corners of the world and did their best to prepare him for the wider world and, hopefully, one day Sanctuary and the school there.

One night Siofra was late getting back from a quest. This was not unusual, even for simple tasks. Life just does not go the way the plan was set out and Alphege understood that. As the party broke up at the tavern Siofra started home instead of sharing a brew. She was followed by several rogues who wanted her share of the loot. No eyewitness saw more than a gathering of shadows that slipped smooth as silk between the lights. She would not yield but unfortunately had chosen to duel with a knife master who severed a major artery. She bled out at the scene, just feet from her partying party, and despite witnesses calling for help. A healer simply could not reach her in time.

Alphege worried more than your average elf, perhaps, but when he heard the commotion outside, he knew something was very wrong. "She's dead, she's dead." Muttering under his breath, Alphege was pacing the floor before he told Uaithne to stay put then disappeared into the night. He was carrying one of Siofra's worry stones, a gift to him as Uaithne's special item had been.

I don't remeber muhc about that night. But I saw her. No one be lives me, but I did. There was blood all a round. Dad dosn't think I konw what it looks like. But I do.

I konw bleeding dosn't kill. I am not afriad. Why was there so muhc blood?

Title: This is the right place..... right?
Characters: Solfir, Stormy, Cullo, Hendugaul, Firnriel, Vale, Kiko / Ben, Zero, Koren, Paige, Jaser, Uaithne

[3:14 PM] Broken_Illumination: There was a bright eyed vigor in Stormy's eyes as she pulled the straps of her backpack with a hint of nervousness that was hidden behind an excited smile. She had been so good in Rasiel's care that he had finally approved school life for her and it was a huge but daunting step for her. She didn't have the faintest idea how to interact with anyone of her peers but she was willing to try. You have to start somewhere, right? Taking in a deep breath, she held it then let it go and stepped into the cafeteria where the children gathered to eat breakfast before school started. It seemed easy. Or was it too easy? She looked down at hastily scribbled words on the palm of her hand. Notes she had taken after extensive research on the internet on how to make friends and interact with others. "Go to places to make friends... Talk to someone... Make eye contact and smile... Make small talk..." she read off and took another breath. Okay. She looked around for someone to talk to, her first victim in friendship.

Jaser was already at the school cafeteria, eating the free meal provided as he hastily scarfed it down as if he maybe hadn't eaten in a while. His stomach hurt but he didn't stop until it was all gone, not a crumb wasted.

Kioko skipped as she walked, already roaming the halls, looking for something to get into... a classroom, a library... maybe even the teachers lounge if she could just get the door unlocked. Darn, sneaky teachers. Surely they had all kinds of cool stuff they were hiding. Like candy and stickers. If they existed, she was determined to find them.

[6:39 PM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: Uaithne was surviving his first day at school remarkably. He was not used to other children. They made him nervous. He wasn't afraid, truly, just worried that his arms or legs would hurt somebody. Father had impressed upon him not to hit anyone ever, and never to kick or shove. These things normal kids do but they don't have stone limbs. Uaithne understood. Children were delicate. Easy to break. When things break, they can be fixed but never the same. So he kept to himself, mostly. In the cafeteria it was the same. He sat on the end so he didn't have to move past anyone. Mostly he had been left alone, too. He tended to hit the table a little heavily which made a lot of noise.

Cullo felt like a mother hen ushering her two little chicks through the halls. When they had reached the cafeteria Hendugaul disappeared into the crowd before he could say anything (how did he do that so fast?) and Firnriel seemed distracted, but held onto his sleeve. "I can't find him," he muttered to himself, trying to see over the other children. After a few minutes of fruitless searching he sighed to himself and got them in line to get their free meal. There was no sense in going without food.

Firnriel did not know why Cullo tried so hard to get Hendugaul to stay with them. Fiercely independent, he was always doing things on his own, but he always came back. A gaggle of girls passed by, including a girl from her class that already spoke to her, she waved her hand shyly but did not go with them. The fallen-ghost girl felt as if Cullo needed her as much as she needed him. When they sat down with their food, Hen was already waiting for them.

"What took you so long?" Hendugaul looked up at Cullo with an unreadable stare. Was he challenging him? The boys were almost the same size but Hen was so much younger and Cullo, a fae, was just small for his age. The feral-elf boy shifted his wings and shrugged, starting on his meal. He had waited to start until they joined him at the table.

[10:41 PM] Goulonostrus: Solfir straightened her shirt, it was wrinkled far too much. If only her Uncle had told her the week before that school was starting, then she could have actually had the uniform looking crisp. Looking at the time, she saw she was starting to push it for the teleport to school. Running down the various tunnels, she reached the exit... Then had to run all the way back because she forgot the parasol.

She just barely made it to the teleport, and was glad to see the sun hidden behind the main building. She skipped along the path towards the cafeteria, maybe today wouldn't be as disastrous as the hunt for tea. … And there’s no tea left at home, shoot. Time to add that to the list of things to get. She wandered past the food section and made a beeline for the drinks, maybe the cafeteria would have tea. Before she could find out though, she bumped into someone.

[3:26 PM] 9s: It had taken quite a bit of pressure and maybe even a little bit of whining for Paige to be set up and sent to the school system, more so considering her past interactions with people who had clearly wanted to wanted to use her, but she promised both of her parents that she would be fine. Though, that did little to dissuade them from making sure that the little nymph had a backpack fully packed with a variety of things - ranging from a mini first-aid kit, two water bottles, an umbrella, and even a small cellphone that was for emergencies only.

Along with the uniform, her hair was pulled into two tight little buns with little space-themed ribbons tied around them, a hoodie that was a dark black to fit within the non-uniform item guidelines, and obnoxiously pink socks as they were the only thing not limited by colors, paired with her cute light blue, starry backpack, Paige looked more than fit to go to school. Walking her way from the teleportation stop that she had been dropped off at just outside the school, she was humming softly to herself as she made her way into the school and started to look about.

Vale, tiny little Vale, with her red frames on and her lightning styled scarf, fidgeted with the hem of the too big for her shirt that she had been given with her uniform. Luckily for her, and her father, the skirt was easily made to fit her by using a safety pin or two to make sure it stayed up where it needed to belong. While she hadn't been too keen on going to school, she was at least told it would help her make some friends, hopefully friends closer to her in age than her previous ones. Though she didn't really see any issue with the friends she had kept. Shaking her head for a moment, she looked back towards where she had come from and thought for a moment, then shook her head again. Vale knew that this would be better for everyone if she stuck to it, so she started towards the building, her head lowered ever so slightly as she watched her feet as she went.

[7:36 PM] MoogerMint: This morning had been a particularly stressful whirlwind of new events compounded into the span of a handful of hours. Had the sun even a chance to rise before Koren found himself standing in front of yet another new addition to his life? While it was certainly nothing out of the ordinary when it came to the track life was on, the small child couldn't help but feel more than a little tired of it all. Then again, maybe that was just because he hadn't had breakfast before coming here; his brother had probably been eager to get him out the door before he had to make his way to his own school, after all.

He had gotten to the school fairly early via the teleport system, repeatedly tugging the straps of a backpack that was almost as large as he was back onto his tiny shoulders. Following implied direction, he got his food and located an empty spot to occupy away from the others. It wasn't that he was shy, the small werewolf just didn't want to impose. He had his fair share of difficulty trying to get onto the seat, though, and almost toppled his tray over in an attempt to set it onto the table before climbing onto the seat himself and digging in, feet dangling over the edge. He did not have the energy for all this...

[7:24 AM] Erina: Zero had packed his supplies and put on his backpack. He was wearing his new uniform; and his long silver hair was tied back in a ponytail. He only had to grab one last thing as he headed out the door; which was an umbrella. It wasn’t for the rain, but instead to block the harsh sun’s rays. He grumbled at this, but school took place during the day. Too bad it wasn’t at night.

Zero’s adoptive father Byakko, had taken him in, and told him that the best place for learning would be school. And thus had given Zero permission to go and study.

After arriving at his destination, he entered the school building. He knew exactly where his first stop would be; the library. In a short time, since being brought to live with other vampires, he had come to love books. With no memories other than his name and the image of a kind man pointing him in the right direction, he had to start learning even the most simple of things. Hopefully the other kids at school wouldn’t make fun of him for it.

But he had spent many hours in preparation for the first day of school! And he was mostly confident in the skills he did have. And just in case, he had packed his own lunch. Unsure if the cafeteria would have something like blood pouches, and not wanting to take any chances at going berserk again, he had brought his own.

‘Today will be fine,’ he kept telling himself. He just had to start off on the right foot.

On his way to the library he found himself hearing the sounds of children’s voices. Easily getting distracted by the noise, he followed the voices to the cafeteria. There sure were a lot of kids there. Zero had stopped mid-step, and found himself staring into the large room. He debated if he should enter or not. He was a little hungry, but he was nervous about people watching him eat.

“Hmmm….” He stood in the doorway quite a while before finally deciding to go inside.

[10:18 PM] Broken_Illumination: Stormy was too busy looking around, eyed darting from person to person to notice the small child coming right towards her. Bumping into her, she blinked and look to who had just collided with her. A small thing, she was. Her own glowing blue eyes lit up into determination as a grin slid across her lips into a wide smile. She opened her mouth to say something, paused, looked at her hand, then back to the girl. "Today's lunch is salisbury steak. I've never had it but I don't mind trying new things. Hey, you should be my friend. I don't have any." she rambled then looked at her expectantly as if maybe this was entirely normal.

Jaser was starting to get distracted by the person hitting the table, looking over and tilting his head with confusion and mild annoyance. "You okay?"

Kioko tried to jimmy the door to the teacher's lounge to no success, "Maaaaan..." she sighed and looked around to see what else she could get into, bounding down the hallway with a smile.

[5:05 PM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: "Oh, um... Yes. I'm fine." Uaithne had not expected to be addressed by anyone, though perhaps he should have. Every little movement seemed to make noise. Or perhaps the other child was referring to his pallor, which was normal for him. But to other children it might seem like he was ill. Since, upon refection, he was not sure why the other child had asked the question, he offered no other information.

Cullo thought he saw Solfir over in the beverages line and was about to try to catch her eye when she started talking with another girl. They seemed to have bumped into one another. He felt silly with his arm up in the air so he lowered it and sat back down. Best to hurry up and eat.

Firnriel just sat quietly eating her food. When she was done she sat still and waited for the boys to finish.

"Firn you can put your tray away if you want. You don't have to wait for us."

"It's all right, I don't mind."

Hendugaul shrugged and went back to eating.

[10:39 PM] Goulonostrus: Solfir stared up at the other kid, this was most certainly not normal. Maybe she didn't know what friends did? "Sure, though I"m not really sure what friends are supposed to do either." she rubbed the back of her head awkwardly while looking for a place for the two of them to sit. The nearest two seats were by a rather despondent Cullo. "I know, let's sit by Cullo, he's pretty friendly!" She attempted to drag the still nameless, and much larger, girl over towards Cullo. Maybe with a bit of time, she could figure out what to do. Thieving was always fun, but would probably get her in trouble on the first day of school. she called out "Cullo, are these seats taken?"

[8:32 PM] 9s: Once inside the school building, Paige took a look around as she took in a deep breath - she hadn't been around this many other children in quite a long time, and she could only hope that it would go better than she had expected. As she looked around, she noticed that the majority of children were in the cafeteria, getting some form of food that the school provided. Deciding that it would be the best place to start, she gripped her backpack straps and walked into the cafeteria, doing her best to dodge other children as to not give them a fright, more so children who looked more human than others as she knew that she looked a little more colorful than some other metas she knew.

Vale ended up falling in line with some other children who had made their way into the school, though once she was inside, she quickly became a little overwhelmed and broke away from the group of children she had tried to blend in with. Gripping the edge of her scarf, the small girl decided to start wandering the hallways to try and get away from all of the loud children that seemed to be the norm of the school.

[9:09 PM] MoogerMint: It did not appear that Koren really noticed as the cafeteria space grew more and more active with students as they filed in. His space was left clear and unapproached, leaving him the ability to space out until he was directed to where he needed to go next. He messed with some of the food that was left on his tray, pushing things around with a flimsy plastic spork, but decided he was likely to stuff it in his bag before being instructed to leave the area; he just wasn't hungry enough to eat it all right now.

While he was not used to being around so many people -- or people in general, really -- the murmuring of the growing crowd faded into the background, a sea of white noise. It was sort of calming, in a weird way. Perhaps it was because he was around his own kind? Strangers were strangers, though, so that didn't make much sense--

Oh. Koren blinked, staring up at the brightly-lit ceiling of the large, bustling room. He zoned out again... Rubbing his forehead with a tiny hand, he realized he must've hit his head on the way down. Guess he had been more tired than he thought. With a light huff, he tried to roll himself to sit upright, then he tried to roll onto his side, both with relatively no success. While the backpack seemed to have broken his fall and cushioned the back of his head from the hard floor, it was still much too large for his diminutive frame, imprisoning the small werewolf on the floor. Well... great, now what?

[11:23 AM] Erina: As Zero made his way through the crowd, looking for a place where he could sit and keep relatively to himself, he saw it. An open table! That was pretty hard to believe considering the sheer number of students. Far off in the corner, it looked like the perfect spot to sit and down and eat the blood pack he had in his lunchbox cooler.

He immediately headed towards it. That’s when he noticed someone laying on the floor. Or rather, he nearly tripped over them.

He quickly caught himself, and stood gaping at the other boy. He raised a brow. What was this kid doing? He tilted his head to the side, watching them closely. When the werewolf didn’t get back up, Zero realized the problem. They were stuck! Well it was an awfully big backpack. Zero had to wonder what all was in there.

The vampire figured he should probably help, plus he was a bit curious about the other individual. But what would he say to them afterwards? He racked his brain for a good conversation starter as he reached out a hand to help Koren off the floor.

“Um are you okay?” he finally asked. “I’ll help you up if you want.”

[2:11 AM] Broken_Illumination: Stormy blinked then looked away, a little embarrassed now. "I... actually don't know either..." she admitted then looked at the notes written on her hand. The notes did nothing to help with this situation she had found herself in. Before she could decipher what else to do, she was suddenly being dragged toward another child. Her eyes widened for a brief moment but she settled her gaze on Cullo and timidly waved with a nervous smile.

Jaser frowned as the boy responded with very little information, "..uhm... okay.." he looked back down at his near empty tray then went back to eating it. He couldn't help but keep glancing at Uaithne, a bit of uncertainty in his expression.

Kioko smiled as she walked down the halls, only to spot a very petite girl with bright red glasses. Oh, how cute! She moved to approach the small girl. "Are you lost? Or..." she leaned in with a mischievous smile. "...are you looking for adventure?" she asked Vale, a little too excited about finding something to get into.

[7:26 PM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: When Jaser went back to his meal, Uaithne looked down at his hands. They were at least normal, to a certain extent. But his lower arms were basically encased or rather were made of stone. He focused hard on making as little movement as possible, or when he went to eat focused on precise movement. It was exhausting. He happened to look back at Jaser, who was watching him. So this kid wanted to know more. "My arms are made of stone. It's hard to be quiet. I'm Uaithne," pronouncing it ooh-en-ya.

Cullo was glad that Solfir had seen him. "No, please sit!" he said. Visibly happier, his siblings watched him curiously, then Solfir and her friend. Hendugaul, the feral-elf watched them with a vaguely thretening air. Firnriel, whose limbs seemed to fade in and out of visibility, kicked her feet out in front of her in boredom, but watched the newcomers curiously. Cullo, a fae himself, introduced them. "I'm Cullo. Those two are my brother and sister, Hendugual and Firnriel."

"Hey." Hendugual seemed to accept them well enough.

"Hiii~" Firnriel gave them each a gentle smile. "What did you write on your hand?" she asked Stormy shyly.
[10:47 PM] Goulonostrus: Solfir turned to Cullo as she sat down. "Cullo, this is my new friend ... umm..." Not to be deterred, she turns to the older girl. "New Friend, this wonder sitting besides me is Cullo, and across from us are his siblings Hendugual and Firnriel."
She made a motion to pick up a cup of tea, only to realize that she hadn't actually gotten any yet. The fact that she just saw some annoying adult take the last teabag from the drinks section made her drop her head and whimper. "Aww man, now I'm really going to suffer tea withdrawal." she sighed into the folding table.

[8:09 PM] 9s: As Paige walked through the cafeteria, she looked around, trying to get a good idea of just how many children were in the school - and then she noticed someone that she remembered. Or at least, thought that she remembered. Moving a bit closer towards the table Jaser was at, she squinted a little bit before smiling and waving - hoping that this was the self same boy that she remembered.

Vale blinked and looked up to Kioko, tilting her head much like a lost puppy would as she was asked. "Trying... to find quiet." she responded softly, as she looked around. Causing trouble would be more of a hassle than anything for those who had to take care of her. But, she was also told to make friends. Pausing for a moment, she looked back towards Kioko "What... sort of adventure?".

[9:22 PM] MoogerMint: Koren rubbed at his eyes from his occupancy on the cafeteria floor, a vain attempt to banish the fatigue that started all this hassle to begin with. However, after the bonk on his head, he wasn't actually at risk for falling asleep anymore, but considering he couldn't get up from his station and was still feeling weak because of it, it couldn't hurt to try, right? Besides, the lights far above his head were pretty bright at this angle.

His overgrown, fluffy ears twitched at the sound of someone approaching his empty end of the table, and he turned to meet the kid closing in. Or, wait, did this long-haired child know the toddler was even there? Tiny hands gripped at the arms of the backpack, the very same ones that were holding him fast, but that was all the reaction Koren really gave before Zero stopped and noticed.

The messy-haired toddler blinked. Well... this was awkward, but at least he wasn't in danger of being used as a speed bump anymore. At the question posed as to whether or not he was okay, Koren offered a sharp nod in response, sinking a little into the large backpack he was currently in the process of being used as a paperweight for. He probably seemed a little shy at that moment, but as a toddler that refused to speak it probably wasn't a very difficult assumption to make. He exhaled as though he were holding a breath for a few seconds before releasing a hand from his own person and holding it up for Zero to take. He supposed it was only natural that the first thing he'd do at school would be to make a burden out of himself, but at least he had met someone nice first thing!

[2:36 PM] Erina: As Koren gave a nod that he was indeed alright, Zero smiled. “Okay good,” he replied, as he helped the other boy up. “My name is Zero,” he added, figuring he might as well introduce himself. He knew his name was rather strange, but it was all he really remembered in the beginning. So trying to explain it would be rather difficult. Hopefully the werewolf wouldn’t ask too many questions about it.

The vampire gave a polite bow, still eyeing Koren’s backpack. But he decided not to ask anything about what all was in there. He didn’t want to appear rude. Instead he adjusted his own backpack on his shoulders and continued to talk. “I was just heading to a table. I haven’t eaten yet. Though…” he trailed off. “I don’t know if I’m really that hungry.” He reminded himself that there were other metas here, surely he wasn’t the only vampire. Drinking blood for lunch wouldn’t be awkward right?

“A-anyway, more importantly, I was kind of hoping to find the library at some point. You wouldn’t happen to know where it is would you?” he asked, hopeful that Koren might be able to point him in the right direction.

“Oh! I never asked your name though. Sorry. I guess that was kinda rude of me,” he said apologetically. He hadn’t the slightest idea that the meta he was speaking to might not speak back.

[9:44 PM] Broken_Illumination: Stormy shifted a little uneasily on her feet before sitting down with Solfir, all this newfound attention was daunting and was making her more than nervous. This was.. four new people, she had only known Akash at her age range her entire life and that was another story all on it's own. What would he think... She sighed a little at the thought. She nodded at each introduction. "My name is Stormy. I have a brother named Akash but he's not allowed to leave the house...." she mentioned before she hesitated at the question of what was written on her hand. Looking down at the words, her eyes widened a little and she hid her hand behind her back as her cheeks turned a bit flushed. "...just some notes..." she muttered softly. She took a breath then tilted her head at Solfir. "Tea? Rhu-... The headmaster has tea in his office, we can go get some if you want. I have a key." she offered.

Jaser blinked, staring at Uaithne then nodded in understanding at what he had said. "My name is Jaser." he returned in kind. He opened his mouth to speak again but then his attention was drawn to a space-haired girl that he recognized from the halloween party. "...you're that girl with the cool space hair..." he commented then waved nervously, his cheeks turning a little red as he looked around then motioned to the seat across from him if she wanted to sit. "...sorry.. I don't remember your name...." he mumbled.

Kioko stared at the small girl. "Quiet? Well, it's quiet in all the rooms right now..." she placed a finger to her lips in thought. "We can quietly adventure?" she pondered. "Oh.. like looking for treasure. This place has got to have lots of undiscovered secrets, I want to find them." she smiled.
[4:20 PM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: A girl waved in their direction. She seemed to be looking at Jaser, so Uaithne looked to the other boy, curiously. She did in fact have "cool space hair." Uaithne's invert colored eyes widened briefly. Her hair was hard not to stare at, now that his attention had been drawn to it.

Cullo nodded to Solfir's new friend. "Nice to meet you, Stormy." Curious. Stormy seemed to know the headmaster well enough to use his stash of tea. Who was Stormy, besides an awkward introduction to a mysterious child?

Firnriel watched Stormy's hand and what was written there. She could not read it but looked up politely when her question was answered. "O-oh. Of course," she added amiably.

[11:43 PM] Goulonostrus: "Tea?" Solfir perked up at the sound of it. "I wouldn't mind getting some tea, if the headmaster won't kill us over it." Have to be careful with that nowadays, Especially with the tea shops after her. She got up, and jumped for joy about the tea. "Does anyone else want to come along on the hunt for tea?" As she said that, she realized that she forgot what room she was supposed to go to for class later. "... Um, do anyone know which room first period math is being taught in?" Thankfully they still had time to do a tea raid before classes were ready. Unfortunately, a teacher was looking their way.

[7:07 PM] 9s: Paige smiled a bit - happy that it was indeed the boy that she had remembered. As she started to speak, she began to sign as well, "It's ok! It has been awhile..." she paused and looked around, smiling a little at Uaithne and looking between the two boys. "I'm Paige. It's nice to meet you -" she looked at Uaithne, then to Jaser, "and it's nice to see you again."

Vale tilted her head again, trying to mimic Kioko's smile before nodding. "As long as quiet." she whispered, unintentionally.

[9:11 PM] MoogerMint: Koren's flame-colored eyes seemed to flare in surprise as the tiny werewolf was hoisted back onto his feet with little effort. Perhaps not so unusual, as the were-boy was more than a little lightweight, but he was nonetheless impressed by the move. It was a fleeting stun, though, as Zero offered his name. Koren didn't feel it was strange at all -- it was actually kind of cool -- but then he hadn't the strongest grasp on what was considered a 'normal' name and what wasn't.

He stumbled backward a little as Zero bowed, a reaction to give a little extra space. He tensed, arms flinching forward slightly, unsure if he was going to have to try to catch the older meta. He'd never seen such an action before, how strange! As the toddler relaxed again, his ears twitched to Zero's vocalized dilemma. Brushing off the dismissal of food, Koren moved back to the seat he fell from. He had to jump to pull himself back up, and had a little difficulty doing so with the backpack, but once he swung his feet forward and settled, he motioned for Zero to sit down next to him with a pat at the unoccupied space. Grabbing some bread he had not finished, he held it out to the other child in case he hadn't any of his own, oblivious to the dietary limitations Zero had. The little werewolf was only going to shove it in his backpack for later so he didn't mind sharing it instead.

[9:12 PM] MoogerMint: At the question of where the library was, Koren paused before shaking his head. This was his first time here as well, but he wouldn't mind helping look. Not that he could really say as much... Speaking of which, the same could be said about his name, but he was quick to pinpoint a workaround to that. He struggled a little, but it was much easier to take his arms out of the backpack straps than it was while fully lying on it. Setting it between the two seats, he unzipped the top and pulled the front forward, where his name and home phone number had been written on the inside in the event the bag was misplaced. He gestured to it before looking up, making sure it was actually visible to who he considered a new friend.

[6:05 PM] Erina: Zero watched the werewolf hop back up into his seat and motion for the vampire to sit next to him. He smiled and sat down as Koren offered him some bread. For a moment he looked at the other child quizzically before remembering that he probably didn’t know what Zero’s diet consisted of. Part of him wanted to politely take the bread anyway, but he wasn’t sure what he’d do with it.

He tilted his head and rubbed his chin as he tried to decide what to do. He wasn’t sure how to explain his diet to anyone, other than vampires of course. “Thank you for the offer,” he finally replied, “But it’s okay. I brought my own lunch today. It’s just...my diet is...a little different.” He gave a shy smile and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.

As the werewolf shook his head in response to being asked where the library was, Zero began to realize something about the curious child. “That’s okay, I’m sure I’ll find it eventually. We can search together later if you want.” He watched as Koren offered the name and number in his backpack when he was asked about what he was called. Zero came to the conclusion that Koren either couldn’t speak or just preferred not to talk. The vampire was fine with that though. He could do the talking if need be.

“It's nice to meet you Koren. After lunch, we could explore,” he mused, taking out his own cooler lunch bag. He glanced over. “Um, please don’t be alarmed, but I’m a vampire so my food is…” He figured explaining was better than just opening his lunch box and whipping out some blood pouches. That would be just a tad creepy maybe. And he didn’t want to scare off a new friend.

[3:38 PM] Starshine: Estrella held her books close to her chest looking around, she wondered if she would meet anyone new and her hope was to make a couple friends here and there. She was new here and it was hard to familiarize herself with the school she was attending when she had no one to help her learn the ropes. She was both excited and nervous at the idea of starting somewhere new and different then what she had grown up with. Her history a mystery to strangers but intriguing to those she knows but at the same time she had yet to tell anyone about her past. She scanned around with her eyes to see if there were any free spaces. She took a deep breath and exhaled as she nodded politely to those who caught her gaze, she moved about weaving in between the other children and if she accidently ran into someone she would apologize. It didn't seem like class started yet so it wasn't as awkward as she thought it would be.

[9:23 PM] Broken_Illumination: Stormy nodded with a faint smile that she wasn't messing up her introduction to new people. This was going surprisingly well. At Solfir's enthusiasm for tea, her smile grew. "Sure, yes. I can lead the way. I don't think he'll be bad as long as we don't take all of it." she beamed. Looking at the others, she waited to see if they would join them.

Jaser smiled as she introduced herself. "...paige... what a nice name.." he said aloud despite meaning to only think it. He seemed in awe of her hands as she signed while speaking. "....why are you doing that with your hands?" he asked, not really sure what it meant.

Kioko smiled and took Paige's hand gently and started to lead the way to the library. It probably wouldn't provide the adventure she was looking for, but it was a quiet place and the small girl would probably like it. "My name is Kioko. What's yours?" she asked in a whisper, to mimic her.

[9:37 PM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: Jaser's reply seemed a little bit spacy in itself. However, like Jaser the moving hands was curious. It almost seemed like she was communicating with them, or something. But why would she do that if she could just say it with her mouth?

If they weren't about to get into trouble over it, Cullo certainly was game to go find the tea. "I like tea," he said brightly, and started getting the two younger children ready to go. "We can look for our classes too."

Hendugaul grumped about getting up and going after some "stupid tea." But he went along anyway.

Fernriel wanted to try some of Cullo's tea as long as it wasn't too hot. "I want some too."

Hen looked up at her sharply then rolled his eyes. "Okay, I might try some too."

"I'll share with them," he reassured the others.

[1:00 AM] Goulonostrus: Solfir looked at the group of 4 people now in the tea raid. "Alright! Stormy, do you want to lead the raid? I don't know where anything is since I lost the map." She frowned at Hendugaul's grumbling about tea. "Aww Hend, why don't you like tea?" She had never found out why before, and since she needed to find out. Couldn't be friends with someone who categorically hated tea. Heathens. She headed towards the nearest door, hoping that they were heading in the right direction. "Don't worry Fernriel, we can make the tea at a cooler temp so that you don't burn your mouth on it!"

[8:20 AM] 9s: Paige blinked a couple times and then looked down at her hands for a moment and smiled a little sadly, the realization that not everyone knew sign language hitting her quite quickly. She was fairly lucky in her personal life to have landed with two parents who were able to teach her sign language. Now, it seemed like it was her turn. Looking back up, Paige tilted her head a tiny bit, "It's called sign language... used to help people who can't or don't want to speak.. or those who can't hear." She continued to sign, a little slower than she normally would so the other two could see what she was doing. "I can teach it to you - it will take time, but it is another language." she smiled sweetly.

Vale stared at Kioko for a moment as she was lead off to the library, "Vale. Nice to meet you, Kioko." she managed a small smile, even though it felt like it was more forced than not. The small girl had no idea what was in store for her, but she would follow along. If anything, she would make at least one friend today - that would make her father happy, right?

[9:14 PM] MoogerMint: Koren reeled the offered bread roll back as Zero declined it, setting it back down on his own food tray. He was, by no means, offended by the action -- he was merely worried that Zero hadn't brought anything, or been able to pick something up from the lunch crew. Regardless, skipping breakfast wasn't something a kid should do if they had the means not to, or they might also faint from the fatigue...

While the little werewolf's expression may have been difficult to decipher, hardly changing from his curiously watchful gaze, his tail swayed slightly at the mention that he could help find the library. Could he really be of help, even though neither of them knew the way? He wasn't just going to slow things down? He kept his thoughts to himself, but Zero's kindness must have meant that he, too, considered the other a friend, right? To be honest, it probably didn't really matter, it made him happier about it, regardless of the reason behind it.

As Zero tried giving a warning to Koren about his lunch, the little werewolf couldn't help but feel a little curious. He didn't know anything about vampires, what was so weird that he would have to warn him not to be scared? Was it a human limb or something? It couldn't have been that bad, Zero seemed much too nice. At first, it just looked like an admittedly strange container full of juice of some kind, maybe some kind of soup? However, there was no real fooling Koren's senses -- he'd been around enough blood in his short time alive to know exactly what it was once he caught the coppery smell. Yes, it was a little startling... but also something that Koren figured couldn't be helped, either. After a brief pause, the toddler bit into his roll and tore a piece free for himself, mirroring a small smile as though to suggest that it was fine, perhaps even perfectly normal.

[12:42 PM] Erina: Zero was relieved at Koren’s reaction. He had half-expected for the werewolf to get up and leave him to sit and eat lunch alone. The vampire smiled back. Perhaps this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. As he drank his lunch, he proceeded to keep talking. “I wonder what the classes are like here. And the teachers too. I’ve never been to school before...or at least not that I can remember,” he said as he people-watched. The statement was probably rather confusing since he hadn’t really explained his past or why he even wanted to be here to begin with. But he continued on.

“There sure are tons of other students. I hope we’re able to make a lot of friends…..I wonder how many kids there are total.” He mused. The number must have been pretty large. “I can only imagine what the classrooms are like. Maybe it’s stadium seating,” he joked.

“Nah, but I can’t wait to get my hands on some books. I kind of had to re-learn a few things. Reading being one of the first steps to getting back into the swing of things. It took a lot of hard work, but I eventually got there. OH!” It dawned on him that he hadn’t explained what he was even talking about. He smiled sheepishly. “I forgot to mention, um, I had amnesia so...that’s why…” His face was red. He was rambling a bit, but it showed that he was comfortable talking to the werewolf.

[5:04 PM] Broken_Illumination: Stormy smiled brightly and nodded, moving to the door as well and leading them out of the cafeteria and into the hallway. She walked, taking a turn or two until they came face to face with the headmaster's office. Stormy reached into her pocket and pulled out a key with a red ribbon tied to it. She smiled again and unlocked the door and headed inside, holding open the door for everyone else to enter the office. The office itself was quite spacious with books lining the walls, a desk toward the back of the room and behind the desk was a cupboard full of assorted teas and coffees. "There!" Stormy pointed with an excited little jump.

Jaser's mouth slowly opened with awe. Wow, she was so smart to know another language, and one that uses your hands even. He nodded eagerly and started trying to do the same as her. "That's so cool!" he smiled, completely enamored by her.

"It's nice to meet you too, Vale!" Kioko responded in kind. She moved into the library and looked around. There sure were a lot of books. But what caught her attention was the wooden loft that led up to a blanketed canopy. "Oooo, up there! Doesn't that look cool?" she grinned excitedly and moved for the ladder to go up into the canopy.

[7:45 AM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: Uaithne was surprised but nodded enthusiastically at Paige. "I've never learned a new language. It sounds fun. If you don't mind teaching it, I want to learn it." He looked at Jaser and wondered if he wanted to learn too. They could all talk together without speaking.

- - -

Hendugaul made a face at Solfir. "Tea is too bitter." Little did he know that tea could be sweetened if it didn't already come that way. He just needed some education on the subject of tea!

Cullo sighed a little while he coaxed his siblings after Stormy and Solfir. "I keep telling you we can put sugar or honey in it, then it will be sweet."

Hen was still skeptical. He'd believe it when he tasted it.

"You think so?" Firnriel asked Solfir. "I don't like to burn my tongue," she stuck her tongue out while talking. It was cute but she was in danger of biting her tongue. If she should bite her tongue, it would hurt whether she burned it on the tea or not.

They were lead to the Headmaster's office and to his stash of tea. Cullo was in awe, looking at all the labels. He read them off to his siblings. He pointed to one called red tea and looked at Hendugaul. "I think you'll like this one. It tastes warm and a little bit sweet. You'll like it with honey." Then he pointed to Fernriel. "Try this one. It's not too bad even when it's cold." It was a delicate green tea with mint. He chose a Chinese one that no one should be able to pronounce, but he knew it had a delicate flavor. "I am thoroughly impressed with this collection," he remarked. I like the Headmaster already."

[8:31 PM] Goulonostrus: "That just means you haven't found the right tea yet, Hen! And Cullo's right, honey's a right and proper way to drink tea." Solfir responded as she followed Stormy. "There's iced tea, and there's room temperature tea, neither are my preferred version of tea, but both are good, Firnriel" She started yammering about various ways of drinking tea, and how barely tea was one of the best drinks.

She shut up the moment she saw the professor's tea collection. Anyone who had this much tea couldn't be bad, and should be on anyone's shortlist to meet. "Mint tea? not exactly my first choice of tea, but not bad. Black tea's an odder choice for a sweet one, but if you don't like it, some honey and lemon will make it fantastic." She ran about trying to find a good tea for herself, finally settling on a nice dragon well tea. She looked back at Stormy, and asked while setting a kettle to boil "so, how did you become friends with the headmaster? He obviously trusts you enough to have given you a key?" It would be a minute before the water was ready, though she prepped some cold water to mix into Finriel's tea to cool it off.

[6:56 PM] 9s: Paige smiled wide and nodded, "I would love to teach more people to use sign language! It's helped a lot when I didn't want to talk, or when I needed to talk to one of the other grown ups I know who also can't talk.." she thought for a moment about those who she's met in her life that hadn't known sign language. It had been so long since she had much interaction with the outside world so this would definitely be an interesting learning experience for her in social aspects

---

Vale followed the older girl into the library, though as she looked around at the books, she seemed a little bit unimpressed - but the blanketed canopy did seem much more impressive than anything else she had seen so far. "Looks cozy. Whats... up there..?" She asked, cautiously following Kioko towards the ladder.

(part 2 after This Is The Right Place Right?)

Title: The Hands That Speak
Characters: Paige, Jaser, Uaithne
Setting: Currently Cafeteria

[12:49 PM] Broken_Illumination: Jaser was awestruck then glanced to Uaithne then back and nodded vigorously. "Me too! I want learn sign language!" he smiled, excited to learn something new and from such a cute girl too.

[5:46 AM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: Uaithne nodded with Jaser. "It will also be good if we can teach it to other classmates, too." Eventually everyone would know sign language. "When do we start?"

[9:31 AM] 9s: Paige beamed at the fact that at least two people wanted to learn sign language, "I can teach you some simple things before classes start.. you do need to still mouth the words or say them for a lot of things... Like this - " She brought up a hand to the tip of her chin then moved it forward out infront of her a couple inches, while mouthing 'thanks'.

[9:03 AM] Broken_Illumination: Jaser was amazed as he watched her, glancing to Uaithne every now and again to make sure he was seeing this too. It was exciting and new and he was eager to learn something new especially from Paige. He watched her sign and carefully mimicked her until he got it right. "What's that mean?" he asked, making sure he were to learn the meaning too so he could commit it to memory and even use it later.

[11:45 PM] 🐸 ᗰƐℓOᗰᗩᖇ 🐸: "When you mouth the words, can you say them out loud?" He had found that reading lips was another skill he lacked. Even so, he mimicked the gesture, then repeated it several times.

"The Glimmers of Sulia Wood"
Players: Cullo, Fajra, Shilba, Uaithne, Wisteria, Yelena
Paragraph Count:
- Cullo: 18
- Fajra: 4 (more in her journal)
- Shilba: 7
- Uaithne: 18
- Wisteria: 6
- Yelena: 8 (more in her journal)

He found the sluagh boy where he always was, on his front lawn. Uaithne lay on his belly, writing in his journal. Or perhaps he was doing his homework. For that possibility only, Cullo hesitated inwardly, but strode forward confidently. He respected the purpose of homework, but the worst Uaithne could do was decline. He cleared his throat and waited for acknowledgement.

Uaithne saw Cullo's approach but did not respond right away. He could simply be wandering past. He wore the same robes he always wore that nearly touched the ground, and sleeves that could swallow his journal whole. Uaithne had seen the feat performed. The fey stopped in front of him. Uaithne looked up with a faint smile. "Cullo. Hello."

"Hello, Uaithne." Inside his sleeve he gripped his fan, closed. His wings shivered. He was hesitating. "I have something I want to show you. Are you too busy?"

"No." Truth be told, if it was Cullo, the reasoning was probably good. He did not need to deliberate to find an answer. He started rising to his feet, dusting off his pants and crouching down to pick up and put away his journal. It was a zippered binder with many pockets inside.

"You may want to bring that," Cullo suggested. What he had to show might inspire the other boy to write, or draw, what he was about to see.

"All right." His curiosity was piqued. He was ready to go. He did not even tell his father. He caught Cullo glancing at the front door and back at Uaithne. He did not need to tell him anything. Not because Alphege would not worry, but he was getting to that age where he was starting to think independently. He simply did not want to. He didn't want to be told "no." "Let's go."

Cullo nodded. "All right." He lead the way toward the forest.

- - -

The Sulia Wood was not somewhere to go without the presence of the fey. Both boys were fey. All the glamour that pervaded the forest was beautiful, quite literally magical, and it was not lost on Cullo, who liked to take his time and enjoy such things. For his part, Uaithne was being very patient as they meandered the wood.

A bit of anxiety filled Uaithne. Where was Cullo taking him? It must be something in the wood, but what could it be? While that filled his thoughts, he did try to enjoy the scenery. He knew Cullo was the type... Uaithne took a quiet deep breath and looked around. Cullo wore a serene smile. He was enjoying himself. "So, um... do you come to the forest very often?"

Cullo turned his smile on Uaithne. It became subtly different. "I was born here. It is not exactly home. My... playground?" he smirked. His fan appeared, snapped open, and fluttered. "Ah, here it is." His arm opened invitingly, fan pointing the way through to a small clearing. "It will take a bit of time. I hope you don't mind waiting."

Okay, so it was not something that was here. Some kind of animal? He was led to a place to sit. Cullo sat down next to him. So he looked around at the setting. It was beautiful.

The clearing had grass for nibbling, a fallen log with mushrooms and moss in the shade. Ferns grew in the tree branches, moss hanging down. It was picturesque. Small. Secluded. Cozy. Cullo loved it here. Sometimes he had to get away from being an elder brother (parent?) all the time. Then, they came.

A brown deer peeked out from the thicket, silent as the wind through the leaves. Muted. Ears swiveled, eyes shone with intelligence as much as the light. As she entered the clearing fully, she turned off to one side to make way for another. Her sides revealed leaf-like tufts that bore vibrant violet color. She shivered and they sounded like rustling leaves. She also looked directly at the two boys. There was no mistaking that she was aware of their presence.

A second deer entered the clearing, even quieter than the first. He moved like quicksilver and shone as brilliantly in cold silver light. His leafy markings were of deep, warm gold. He walked in the halting way of deer as he watched the boys. He seemed to have some sort of intent. He walked closer, molten silver again, until he was right next to Uaithne. He bent down and took a deep breath.

Uaithne was speechless and breathless. He had never seen a treedeer before, and still had no name for them. His eyes were wide, black-and-white marbles, his body rigid with intensity. This deer was sniffing him and he did not know how to react.

Cullo put a hand on his arm and felt the other boy relax, with an effort. There was nothing to fear. Not from this pair. "You can pet him," Cullo murmured. "He won't bite, I don't think."

"You 'don't think?'" Uaithne snorted and watched the buck shy back a little, but then he booped the boy's chest with his nose. Uaithne frowned as he raised his hand to scratch under the strange creature's chin. "H-ello," he managed. After a few more moments, he glanced at the fey boy. "Cullo, I feel funny."

Cullo could only grin. "That's a good thing, I think. He wants to be your friend."

By this time, the female had finished her snack and she came over to Cullo. She watched Uaithne with vague interest, but when she looked at the fey boy, her eyes brightened. When she reached him she nuzzled his shoulder.

"I think they are glimmers. I have read about them. They are not normal animals. They were created by humans and were given special powers. Now they live in The Wood and nearby. They can bond with someone special. I think they chose us, Uaithne. I was hoping he would bond with you." Cullo looked intently at the silver treedeer, who was pointedly ignoring him.

"Why?" Uaithne's jaw hung open for a moment or two.

"Why not? You are someone special." This time Cullo looked at the brown treedeer. "I've named her Wisteria. The purple flowers fall like wisteria vines."

Uaithne shook his head and looked at the buck beside him. "A name, huh?" After a few moments of consideration, he said: "Silver. His name is Shilba." He looked and moved like molten metal. What better glimmer could he have met out here in the woods?

Cullo nodded. "I like it. He does too," he laughed.

Shilba nodded his head then head-butted Uaithne in the shoulder gently. If they could see it, his tail was wagging too. He definitely liked the name. He could understand what they were saying and the meaning of his name. It suited him well, he thought. But he could not say so. Only pantomime his excitement and interest. Soon he curled up in the grass beside Uaithne. He was content.

The two deer looked up suddenly at a space in the thicket. The boys saw and heard nothing, but the treedeer were ready.

Shilba's cloven hooves seemed to sink into the soil and he became immovable. His body was between Uaithne and the sudden rustling of leaves.

Wisteria butted the abnormally light boy onto her back. His slight fey form was easily hoisted by his robes. Then she was gone, flight boosted by her Super Speed. In addition, they seemed to squeeze between any obstacles as her Barrier adjusted to the terrain.

"Wist--! Stop, what about my friend?" What could have caused her to bolt like this? She would not slow down and it would seem that letting go would be quite dangerous, especially without that barrier to cushion his fall, or stopping him from slamming into a tree. "Please! Let's go back!"

Wisteria snorted without looking back at him. She was not about to stop until they got inside the Sanctuary grounds. It was the first time she had chosen to leave the Sulia Wood since the battle at The Scar. And before that, she had lived almost exclusively there. The trepidation was real and she might have avoided visiting if the situation weren't so dire.

Cullo slammed his fist down on his thigh in frustration and growled. Knowing that she was making the right move given her situation did not help his frustration. What would happen to Uaithne?

The treedeer found the Sanctuary campus easily. It was huge and manicured. It was difficult to travel in this direction and miss it. Once Cullo was safe inside, she took off again. She was going to try to help Shilba if she could. Her Super Speed made her seem like a streak of brown and purple. Soon she would be right back to the clearing.

"Hey! Wait! What about me?" Cullo called after her. As quickly as she had stolen away with him, she was gone again. She had not forced him to stay but she would make it back before he did. He almost threw his fan against a wall. He didn't-- it was a gift from Hisime-- but he was almost angry enough to. Well, this time he was going to fly. Maybe he would get there soon enough to help.

Meanwhile, Shilba, not much of a fighter himself, was nevertheless stubbornly rooted in place-- literally! His head was down low, ready to headbutt anyone that should come at them. And then there it was, all within the space of just a few interminable seconds, the reason for the alarm.

A lion.

The lioness roared at the treedeer, but made no move against them.

Uaithne jumped to his feet, hands on Shilba's neck and shoulder. He did not want his glimmer to die. He stood beside the treedeer and glared fiercely at the lion. He tried to Tempt the lioness. "Leave us alone. Go back."

The green lioness took a step backward. At first she felt a little unsure as a wave of contrary intent washed over her. But then she recovered her ground and took another step forward. Tiny tongues of flame danced about her body like hissing sparks on water.

All right, she was not about to leave. But she was not about to lunge at them either. Even so, he absorbed some minerals from the soil and created a Rock Armor for his arms, legs, and a circlet of stone around his head.

"Nice armor."

Startled, Uaithne watched as a girl appeared in the clearing, approaching just far enough in to stroke the flaming lion's fur. At first she was covered completely in shadow. He could see her silhouette and pale hair, but that was all.

A tiny girl, she stepped into the light and stood confidently with her arms crossed as she sized up Uaithne with a practiced eye. Her expression screamed, "I could take you." With all that stone armor, he looked like a little boy in a Halloween costume. It was not carefully crafted or balanced like a good sword was balanced. He did not stand like a fighter. Just a scared little boy.

The scared little boy got into what he thought might be a good stance. He didn't really think about it. He just hunched his shoulders and tensed all his muscles. He was ready to fight for his life.

The little girl, blonde and with huge orange eyes, flinched. Leave them alone! They did nothing to you.

Uaithne saw the flinch. Should he fight first? No. Wait and watch. You can do this.

What do you think I was going to do? Beat the crap out of a little brat like you? I could if I wanted to, but why? The girl stepped off to the side, revealing as it finally stepped into the light, that more than half of her body was giant spider. And to a knowledgeable eye, a jumping spider at that. Aggressive. Angry. Athletic.

Uaithne was a sluagh. His people were not regarded by others with much kindness. In fact, this spider was about as scary as he should seem. That is, if anyone knew about their rumor and myth. Thus, a creature of the darkness, he recognized a kindred spirit in the spider, even if they were on opposite sides of a ring.

I... don't know.

Oh, I won't hurt them. Disgust was written all over her face.

Shilba glanced at Uaithne briefly. Was he watching the same show? Why all the delay and hesitation?

The lioness likewise looked a little uncertain, this time thanks to her bond.

Wait. If that lion was with that girl, then the lion is a glimmer. Maybe she is a student at Sanctuary. "You! You're from Sanctuary, aren't you?"

"Riiight..." Caught off-guard, the girl followed his interjection slowly.

"Then we shouldn't be fighting. We're both... out for a stroll, right? So leave us alone, or join us. We don't want to fight." The boy stood upright again, loose-limbed. He was doing his best to convince her without using a little Temptation.

Wisteria returned to the clearing at that moment, a flash of color and leaves. She did not bother to try to lighten her steps. Suddenly the boy was surrounded by allies. Wisteria snorted. There was no sign of Cullo, nor fear in any fiber of her being. Done with her mission, she was back and ready to fight.

The spider-girl sighed in disgust. "Fine! I'll go." And with that, a wave seemed to pass through her body and she shivered. Stricken, she glanced at Uaithne; she looked like she wanted to tell him something, but thought better of it before turning to the lioness. "Let's go, Fajra." And just like that, they left.

Uaithne could not help but wonder what she had wanted to say. A simple apology, or something else? They could have stayed longer.

Sometime later, Cullo appeared from above the treetops, which had seemed like the fastest way at the time. He fluttered down and landed near the rest. He managed a sheepish grin. "Looks like I missed all the fun. I would have helped if I could."

"Wisteria is a good friend." Uaithne grinned at the young doe, then turned back to Cullo. "You are, too."

Shilba stepped around behind Cullo and headbutted him toward Uaithne and Wisteria. Then he proceeded to push him along by the small of his back. It would seem that he would take no answer but "yes." Only when they had closed the distance did he lay off. As rough as he was, he had been careful about the fey boy's flame-colored wings.

"All right, I am now sitting, will you join us, Shilba?" he asked with a grin.

The silver-and-gold buck grasped a mouthful of grass then curled up beside Uaithne. While he munched, the boys were able to relax finally. Now that Cullo had completed their group once more, all was right in the world.

"So, what did I miss, anyway?" Cullo listened intently, eyes widening and jaw dropping with shock as Uaithne filled him in on the details. Who would have thought he would make a good storyteller?
