the pastBorn to a middle class tanner following her dalliance with a noble, Driidi grew up angry and alone, unacknowledged by his father and raised by a disapproving uncle after his mother took ill and passed on when he was six. During the years when he was small enough to sneak about largely unnoticed, Drii made a game of stealing from those he deemed his father's people—namely the nobility—a pastime his uncle didn't seem to mind as long as he got his share of his nephew's spoils.
All that would change a week before Driidi's fifteenth birthday. He was finally too large to sneak, and rather than taking his hands or his life, those who caught him stealing put him into the service of a spoiled noble boy named Parth, the very boy Drii had been trying to steal from. In an effort to teach him empathy, they vowed to beat Driidi every time Parth misbehaved. The two became fast friends, despite their awkward introduction, and though they grew to be much better liars, they certainly didn't learn what Parth's family hoped they would.
Three years later, Driidi's fancy life is starting to chafe. It was fun for a while, but he's beginning to think it's time to move on.
