Quote: After the Aishan trees had suddenly and furiously bloomed, pollen had started to fall from the sky in never before seen quantities. The sun seemed choked by its presence and the breeze currents seemed to carry it across all of Tendaji.
Curiously enough, the impact of the pollen could be seen in earthlings...
Random earthlings across Tendaji saw cracks and fissures in their skin, shedding as if they had a sunburn. New skin tones shone through from underneath. Almost as if by magic new eye colors and crystal colors emerged with a night's rest. Earthlings changed overnight without regard to their family lineage. Brothers and sisters now sported new colors; mothers and daughters that once looked like spitting images captured the eyes of many with their sudden differences.
What could be made of these changes? The world was in upset, some overjoyed and thrilled at the new colors, others in despair as their self views shifted beneath their feet.[ Earthlings (and those with earthling blood) have started to suddenly change colors! What does your character make of the changes? Did they change too, or do they just witness the new looks of someone close? Are they fascinated in this sudden new change, or are they in the throws of woe? Let us know how your character handles the change in the world! ]

[ Driidi will now have █████ skin and █████ hair. ]
Driidi wasn't a light sleeper on most nights, but something had kept him awake until just before sunup today, something that had involved a lot of itching and scratching and dramatic sighs. He had finally reached a point where he was too exhausted to stay awake about twenty minutes ago, and he was nodding off just as the door to his humble living quarters swung open and Parth crashed inside.
"Drii! Look!"
He looked, yielding to Parth's request as he had for the past three years of his life. Driidi opened his eyes and squinted across the room at his friend, the light of the morning shining behind the noble young man.
"What? What am I looking at?"
"Me! Everything is different! I could walk right past the guards at the gate and no one would recognize me!"
Driidi sat up and scrubbed a hand across his face, leaning to the left until the glare from outside was blocked by Parth's body. He wasn't lying—where Parth's skin had been a paler shade of brown that nearly matched Driidi's own, now it was so dark it almost absorbed the light. His hair was darker too, though not as deep a brown as his skin. It was all very striking.
"Come!" Parth turned on his heel and walked away, leaving Driidi with two choices: go back to sleep or follow. It wasn't much of a choice. Drii pulled a clean shirt over his head and trailed Parth out the door.
"What are we doing?"
"What I said." Parth flashed Driidi a grin, his eyes narrowing soon after as he took the time to focus. "You've changed too, you know. What do you think did this?"
Wait. What? Had something really changed? Drii raised his arm, rubbing at the back of his hand. Oh. It wasn't nearly as drastic as Parth's sudden new appearance, but his skin was ever so faintly darker in the sun. He wondered if his hair had changed as well, but now was not the time to check, not when his prince demanded attention.
"I heard it's all that weird powder that's been floating around..."
"The pollen?"
Drii hadn't had much to say about to the pale clouds that had descended on the city over the past few days. He hadn't had time to sit down and think about anything beyond whether or not Parth was having a negative reaction to the dust in the moment. But he'd heard mutterings that all of it had come from a tree. How could a tree do this?
"Maybe? It seems as likely as anything el—"
Driidi went silent as he was yanked down the hall, Parth's smile growing wider with every step they took toward the gate. Just before they reached it, Parth pulled them into a not-so-hidden nook, jabbing his finger toward the floor twice. Stay here. Drii nodded.
"Hello there, good sir!" Parth strode over to Dekea, one of the manor guards, and clapped him on the shoulder. "How are you doing on this fine morning? What is it that you do here?"
From his nearby hiding place, Driidi peeked around the corner and nodded at the guard. Dekea didn't respond audibly, but his posture relaxed as he replied.
"I guard Lord Ghestel's estate and keep the family safe. And on that note, may I ask who you are, sir?" Dekea blinked, letting a touch of surprise cross his features. "Wait. Is that you, Lord Parth? I almost arrested you!"
If Ghestel ever fired Dekea, Driidi was pretty confident that the man would make an excellent living as an actor.
Parth cackled with delight. "I wouldn't have let you go that far!" He brushed at his clothing and grinned. "What do you think? Does it make me look more distinguished?"
Seeing no reason to remain hidden any longer, Driidi joined them with a smaller smile of his own.
"Of course, Lord Parth," Dekea said. "And you, Master Driidi. Very tasteful."
So his changes were noticeable. Drii scratched at his neck and chuckled. It was strange... He had always put a reasonable amount of thought into his appearance, but this surprise change didn't bother him at all. It felt like a fresh start, a way to stand out.
"Yes! You should come see what you look like! No one could turn out as striking as I have, but you should be able to pull off some of my cooler toned hand-me-downs now. Won't that be fun?"
Driidi couldn't think of anything he wanted to do less.
"So much." He put on his best fake smile.
