 ❂ ♚ ❂ Reina ❂ ♚ ❂
Name: Reina Stage: 2 - Mage Route Race: Oban Gender: Female Sexuality: Straight, plotted. 3 Base Traits: Outspoken - Active - Admirable Personality: Reina is a very outspoken youngling who does not mind making her opinion known. If she feels that something is wrong then she will quickly address the problem and is never known to shy away. Shyness is a foreign concept to her. She does not understand being quiet and will always be the first one to introduce herself or to do things to entice someone to venture towards her. She is very active and a very hands-on type of child who cannot stay still, much to the dismay of any future tutors or even her parents some days when they are trying to keep an eye on her. Being such an outspoken and active girl may one day get her in trouble for speaking up when she shouldn't but that activity also means that she is one to easily dedicate herself to a task and make certain it is completed. Her confidence and resolve to pursue her dreams and to help others is admirable and it is not uncommon for her charisma to make her the leader of a group of younglings going on some sort of playful adventure. It may also earn some disdain from others who may not see things her way but she will not be swayed by peer pressure to go against what she feels is right in her heart.
Description: A freckled girl who previously had crimson eyes and deep brown hair, Reina was affected by magical pollen and now has wine colored hair with peach eyes and crystals. She's grown into a curvy figure and has a natural grace.
Some quirks/habits: Constantly crossing and uncrossing her legs when she is forced to sit for too long, tugging on her hair while lost in thought, pacing when speaking with others and always gesticulating whenever she's truly excited. Theme Songs:
❂ History ❂
❣ Born to Varinia and Reillan, Reina has always known love. With her sister as her childhood ally the girl has always made fun adventures up for playtime while they spent another portion of her childhood as playmates to the young Oban prince. As a young teen she was slowly growing bolder and getting more accustomed with all the secret ways to go about and sneak through the palace. She at first didn't like the young prince but over the years bonded with him, forming an unbreakable relationship until she caused an accident and fled to study magic away from Oba for a while.
The last two years Reina has been away in Tale, studying and slowly progressing as a mage while she's distanced herself from old friends and family. She's not really connected to her family as much, coming back to Oba with Nicias after so long away will show her a lot of changes have happened since she last lived within the city.

❂ The Story So Far... ❂
❣ Reina has been raised with her family in Sulburi, the capital of Oba. Her mother works closely with the Princess and often babysits the young prince who as a result became Reina's childhood playmate. So far she's been playing about as a child but with age came tutors and learning, blech.

❂ Sorcerer Path ❂
Reina found out about her affinity for magic in one of the most unexpected ways. The teen had been growing more and more frustrated with the endless supply of pranks that haunted her ever since other daughters of nobles had learned of her close relationship with the Oban prince. While Reina would not trade her friendship with Nic for the world, the girl was running out of patience for the constant traps and teasing set up for her around the palace. What was worse was that she had been taking etiquette lessons (because apparently those are important if you plan on sticking near a prince and have to attend certain events, go figure) and everytime she thought she had pleased that strict tutor there was another prank to ruin her graceful appearance. “Seriously?!” Reina let out a sigh as she wiped ink from her skirts, the violet silks ruined by a carefully placed pot of dark ink. Not only had she endured hours (hours!) of sitting still for tailoring the finely made piece, the girl also knew her family had spent a lot of coin on it since it was for an upcoming social event that would involve a lot of dancing and other noble families.
It was then that she had enough. Reina sought to do her own trick and after setting up a bucket of water the teen waited and waited for someone to trigger the trap. Unfortunately, however, it got knocked aside and while the water was supposed to spill on top of a group of gossiping girls it instead went towards the walls. Reina who was tucked neatly away in a hiding spot between a statue and draperies felt her irritation rising. There was no way that water was not going to touch them, right? A strange pulsing feeling formed in her chest and she found herself directing the water with her gaze, her fingers gently tracing the path in the curtains. Strangely enough the water actually went that way as well! Reina found herself amazed and a soft laugh threatened to expose her as the trio of girls started running down the hallways.
It wasn’t until five similar strange occurrences happened throughout the next couple of weeks that Reina finally started to think that something was different about herself. First a falling bag of flour had been blocked by some strangely, well-timed breeze and another time she found extremely cold water that quickly warmed up once her shock faded and then there was the fire that hadn’t been wanting to start that suddenly burst into life….it was almost like magic. “Oh.” Reina blinked as she held out her hands towards the dancing flames. “I think I’m understanding what’s going on now.” She had trained for so many years with physical weapons that she never thought about her magical aptitude, especially since everyone she knew in her family were fighters not mages. But as her curiosity grew, so did Reina’s appreciation for the magical interference that was slowly helping her to overcome the pranks that had bothered her for months now. Maybe….just maybe learning a bit more and becoming a sorcerer wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Even if she wasn’t fully ready to share her calling with others at least it seemed Reina had finally settled on something, or rather been called by something, that could work with her.

❂ Growth - Going Solo ❂
She was going to leave Oba.
Reina had battled with the decision for weeks before finally gathering the courage to tell her family. It wasn’t that she was going to run away from her duties with the royal family, but rather that she wanted to explore the world and herself before settling down for her life in Sulburi as a guardian. What she had originally thought would be a bittersweet separation in fact turned into a surprise as she learned that Nicias was also requesting to travel. He had mentioned it but I never realized that he was actually going all the way to Zena! Still, a smile crossed her lips at the thought before she found herself pausing. How was she supposed to cover what she needed to learn while she was away from the palace? She had already pondered obtaining a mentor in secret, someone who could help her to better understand her growing magic but now that Nicias was wanting to travel it would be easy enough to just tag along with him instead to see the world. Honestly it would be way too easy to fall for that temptation and so Reina found herself pulling away to take a step back to think.
The more Reina thought about things the more she battled with her decision. She had spent her whole life with Nicias so far, she realized. Even if she had been a bit against a childhood playmate when they were first introduced as children the girl had quickly bonded with the prince. For the last decade of her life she had done everything with Nicias and she knew that he had relied on her just as much as she did him. Still, his whole existence was driving her purpose as she trained to become a guard for him like how her mother guarded the royal princess. Now that things were a bit more complicated sort of the young woman was finding herself realizing that she had never truly gotten the chance to just be by herself. If not Nicias then her family was there and if not them then the palace tutors and staff….when had she truly ever tried doing something alone? She didn’t want to leave Nicias, truly she couldn’t stand the thought of it, but at the same time how could she know what it was like without him? How could she protect him when she had not yet learned how to stand on her own? Reina chewed on her bottom lip and paced the room for the hundredth time before writing yet another attempt at a note. I promise I’ll be back soon so don’t worry! I’ll send letters and gifts to let you know that I’m doing alright. Consider this my own ritual into adulthood? Reina let out a sigh before crumpling the letter in her hand and tossing it into the fire. Time to try again.
Eventually she would write a good enough note to leave for Nicias. She already had sealed envelopes prepared for her family and while she expressed her intentions directly to them without much problem it was more intimidating speaking to Nicias. So for the first time in her life Reina did something that she normally wouldn’t do - she left with only a note to Nicias instead of saying goodbye directly to him. It wasn’t as much guilt driving that decision but more the fear that if she saw him before leaving that she would stay instead. But this was something that she had to do! She had to learn more about her magic, keeping it to herself for now because she wanted to understand it first before sharing it with the rest of her family and dearest friend, and she needed to prove to herself that she could do something on her own for once. While the last thing Reina ever wanted to do was hurt Nicias or her family this was what she felt like was the best decision going forward. She also tended to be a bit stubborn and overprotective on her own so why not go ahead and take the hit for others by going her own way for a bit? A learning experience indeed. Reina just hoped that the world outside of Sulburi would be something that she could learn to navigate on her own. Surely, right? Either way this was her decision and as Reina left her notes for everyone, the young woman kept her resolve and left before the morning light.

Reina has always relied on others, especially Nicias, while growing up in the comforts of Sulburi. Now that she is growing older and learning more about her own talents Reina wants to test herself and level up her skills by training outside of the palace and by perhaps finding an outside mentor to help her. This will be her first time away from home, away from the support of those who have always taken care of her and proves that she is ready to take on more responsibilities no matter the cost.
