Personality: Inquisitive, Outspoken, Level-headed
Eslae was always one to ask questions, ‘why’ being her personal favorite. While some might call her nosey, or perhaps even pushy, she feels the need to always have her questions answered and her mind satisfied. She likes to think that she picked it up from her mother, and would hope that it would help her better understand her future students once she begins teaching herself. She always wants to know why someone thinks the way they do, acts the way they do, comes to the conclusions that they do. She wonders why things work, how they work, what keeps them working. The questions continue to tumble from her mouth, always aiming to know more, and understand more.
She is not shy about her questioning and even less so about her opinions. If she feels she knows the answer to something she will do little to hide her knowledge from others. She feels the truth is valuable, and facts should reach the ears of anyone she can manage to get to listen. While she can come off as a know-it-all, it’s always with the intentions of bettering herself and all of those around her.
She is working on her patience, trying to build up the confidence to teach, and trying to understand that while facts do not change, perception does. So while she might swear she is right, she is always willing to hear the other’s reasoning and see if the logic to it holds or surpasses her own. She is slow to anger, and even slower to aggression. It takes quite a bit to get a rise out of her, but when it happens, no doubt it was over a heated debate about some theory or tidbit of knowledge.
History: For as long as she can remember Eslae’s family has been a family of teachers. Her great great grandfather used to belong to the Sector of Innovations, but he couldn’t help but feel the nagging feeling that he should be reaching out to the youth of the community, and after a rather large commotion from the family at the time he left for Valmon where he thought he could reach the most ears and perhaps lecture in the Academy. He met his wife then, and the family line continued, knowing only teachers and those interested in education from that point forward.
Eslae’s father, Hessat, came from that lineage, eventually meeting his future wife, Iriesa, one day while at the Academy listening to a symposium given by Hessat’s father. After becoming well acquainted and eventually marrying, the pair decided that they would travel all of Belrea, becoming itinerant lecturers, both specializing in their respective fields and molding the youth of Belrea through knowledge.
Eslae, while young still, looks up to both of her parents and one day hopes to become a teacher like her family, enjoying the feeling of being in a new place regularly, and finding value in a life on the move.
