◥Ability Info◤
✪Strengths:
Flight - Being a fairy, it should come as no surprise that she does possess a pair of gossamer wings, which are normally kept neatly folded. She can’t be called a strong flier by any definition, but at least she can fly, or glide, a short distance if she must.
Durable - Due to her method of immortality, Uirwen's body can withstand a lot of harm. It's not like she'll die unless certain conditions are met. This even extends into poisons, which never really seem to bother her..
Wilderness Survival - After living so long in the wilds, it should come as no surprise that Uirwen has become quite skilled at well.. Living there. She knows how to find water, how to create a temporary shelter (using her magic, but still), how to start up a fire for warmth.. And how to find food. Since she won't eat meat, this means knowing which plants are edible and which ones are not.
✪Weakness:
Combat - Uirwen is simply not suited for doing battle with other beings… Especially if their abilities are better suited to a battle than hers are, or they are a melee fighter who is able to get that close to her.
Physical stamina - Uirwen is unable to maintain physical activity for any prolonged period of time. Is she physically capable? Yes. But due to the method of her brand of immortality, activities that lead to an elevated heart rate are.. Far from ideal.
Never wears shoes - Now, this might seem a little odd, but bear with me. She never wears shoes. While this may not seem like much, it does mean that she is a bit prone to foot related injuries.. Such as when one steps on something sharp and/or pointy.
Fairy Physiology - Although the effects of some of these may be negligible due to her immortality, there are certain things which do give her issues. The most important of these being iron, which can be used to block the use of her magic, and another which is more of a condition of her magic. Her word is her bond. If she makes a promise or deal, then she must follow through on her end of it.. Unless the other party fails to uphold their end of it. She also is incapable of telling an outright lie. What ever she says, it must be true to the best of her knowledge.

✪Special Items: She is basically a pauper.
✪Weapons: Not being a fighter, Uirwen has little use for a weapon. She only uses her magic.
✪Armor: As shown in the image above, Uirwen wears no armor to speak of. Why would she need to?

◥MAGIC◤
✪ Immortality [Cellular Regeneration] - An immortal in the more traditional sense, Uirwen cannot simply be killed by normal means.. Or even many magical ones. While not immune to any form of damage, her body heals at an accelerated rate, which allows her to recover from most would-be mortal wounds or conditions that would otherwise prove deadly. Even starvation or dehydration won't kill her, but they will make her feel worse than normal and give her issues with functioning normally..
As a side effect, her blood has mild regenerative properties and can be used in the creation of certain potions. At least in regards to her blood, it can be used to stimulate the natural healing abilities of a person’s body, as well as to help enhance the effects of healing potions.
~ As with any other form of healing, this takes time. The worse her injuries are, the longer it takes.. There also may be other side effects or consequences, depending on the injury.
~ There is no pain suppression involved in this, so healing from injuries is very painful.
~ The cause of this condition is a shard of unicorn horn embedded in her heart. With every beat of her heart, it simultaneously wounds her again, only to heal her once more. This is what is keeping her body in optimum condition.
~ If that horn shard were to be removed from her, then she would immediately die. Short of doing this, or destroying her heart with the shard still inside it, it is nearly impossible to permanently kill her by most means.
✪ Nature Channeling - Here we get into the power that is truly and wholly hers forming the backbone of all of her other magical abilities. As a fairy, Uirwen possesses a strong connection to nature. In her case, it is strong enough that she is capable of drawing upon the energy of nature, channeling it through her body and manipulating it to a variety of purposes.
The most basic use is projection as a simple magical energy or kinetic force that can be used to repel objects, or people. However, this power can also be used for other purposes such as casting spells, manipulating nature, breaking illusions, removing the effects of lower level spells/curses (if they are weak enough), and even healing.
~ As with most forms of magic, control is key. While she may be a skilled user in some aspects, in others her technique is often clumsy, lacking the nuanced touch that defines her most powerful spellwork. She is not well versed in using her powers offensively and it shows.
~ Impulsive, emotionally charged usage can produce powerful, but unpredictable results that may be more harmful than helpful.
~ Obviously, all spells and such can be broken, effects defended against, and more powerful users of a similar or the same power can overpower her.
~ Areas where there is little nature have less nature energy to channel, making this ability ineffective in such places.
~ Overuse of this ability has very negative effects on the immediate environment, such as causing nearby nature to become sickly, weaken, wither, and/or die.
✪ Nature Magic - Whereas Nature Channeling deals with using energy for a variety of obviously supernatural effects, Nature Magic deals directly with nature itself. This is the power to manipulate nature in the physical sense, using magic to achieve a variety of effects which all have nature at their core.
~ Control, discipline, and restraint are very important. Unconscious, emotion-influenced, impulsive, or reckless use can be quite dangerous.
~ Much like with Nature Channeling, this is ineffective in areas that have little nature.
~ All magic comes with a price. Not even an immortal is exempt from this rule.
✪ Animal Empathy - Uirwen is able to sense and understand the emotions of animals, and she can cause them to do the same for her.
~ This is not a form of mind control. Naturally aggressive animals may still attack her.
~ Forming empathic bonds with animals carries a certain… Risk. You see, if this bond is too strong, it can influence her to act more like the animal in question and less like a person.
✪ Animal Telepathy - Over time and with a lot of practice, Uirwen has learned to read the minds of animals and to communicate with them as well.
~ This is not mind control. She cannot force animals to do her bidding.
~ Communication issues can and do happen. It’s a syntex thing. Animals don’t exactly communicate with words.
✪ Misdirection - To put it in the simplest terms, this is the ability to cause others to become completely lost. As a spell, the goal is to make it difficult for the target to determine their position and find their way by causing all such attempts to fail until the spell fades or is broken. This can even cause a person who otherwise knows an area well to be unable to find their way. For example, causing tracks to be covered over or obscured in some way, stars and landmarks to be obscured with thick fog, etc.
The spell can be cast upon either a person or a place. When cast upon a person, the effects will follow that individual and be localized to blocking []i]their own attempts. An unaffected individual in their vicinity would not have quite the same difficulty..
When cast upon a place, this is a different story. Anyone within that location will be interfered with by this spell. If one is able to get out of that location, they will be free from the spell’s effects. This may be easier said than done though, given that the spell will try to keep them completely turned around.
~ Lasts a maximum of 5 posts. Takes 1-2 posts to cast depending on the target(s)/range of effect.
~ Spells that take or directly guide their user to something render this ineffective.
~ She must be in the area she intends to cast it upon.
~ Considering the effects that this spell can have, it can be quite noticeable to an observer on the outside of its range of effect.

◥Personal Info◤
✪ Height: 4'5"
✪Weight: 89lb
✪Birthplace: Some isolated village in Lucerne
✪Personality: Contrary to her innocent and childlike appearance, Uirwen is truly a jaded individual. She is a very solemn person, rare to smile or laugh as she finds little to no joy in many of the things others do. She possesses an almost overabundance of caution, especially in regards to the people around her. With her secretive, distrustful nature, it should be no surprise that she favors short, simple statements. She is not, however, impolite. Merely abrupt. She does not seek to offend others, as she would much rather avoid the ensuing trouble. For the most part, she tries to be nice and act kindly. Again, it is more about avoiding trouble than actually wanting to be helpful. In fact, avoidance is something she is particularly good at. She doesn't tend to address issues with other people. When she does, it is usually because someone else brought it up and she often seems dismissive of such things.
✪Quote: "Why would anyone desire this? Immortality is only a curse..."
✪Theme Song: A Nostalgic Dream
✪Biography: She does not often speak of her past. Much of her memory has faded, especially the years leading up to her becoming immortal. They are obscured by the fog of time. And yet, these events are all important to the person she has become.
Life has never been kind to the fairy girl, Uirwen. She was born far too early, due to complications that led to her mother’s death. It was unfortunate, but magic can only do so much, after all. It was all the midwife that was there could do to save the child. From the beginning, she seemed cursed to be weak and sickly compared to her peers. It was always uncertain how long she would live. Her frailty gave her father such cause to worry that he kept her close to home, attempting to shelter her from what he considered to be the dangers of the world. Some might say he was being paranoid, but ease with which her health declined, the frequency of serious illness, gave this a solid foundation.
As a child, she was content despite her circumstances. All she knew was that her father loved her. Curiosity may have tempted her then, but she was young enough to be easily placated and distracted with toys or simple “wonders”. As she aged, however, she began to have questions and desires beyond the little walls of her home. She knew there was more outside and it was only natural that she wanted to see it. Oh, she knew what her father said. It was too dangerous outside for the likes of her. She should remain tucked away where it was safe. She knew why that was, though in her naivety she did not fully comprehend. Seeing how upset her questioning made her father, she resolved to keep her curiosity to herself.. That did not mean that she would give up on it, however..
Was it fate, or foolishness that led her to disobey her father? Or was it simply that she did what any youth would do? When recalling this long lost time, she has often wondered why she was ever so foolish as to disobey like that. But I am getting ahead of myself. She was a good child for a long time, but as she reached the years when she would begin to blossom into a young woman, the itch to explore finally became too much to resist.
It began harmlessly enough. On those nights when the weather was nice and she felt strong enough, she crept out into the garden. At first, these little ventures were short and she never strayed far. The furthest she would go to was the edge of the garden, from where she could listen to the night creatures going about their business in the forest beyond. If she listened close enough, strained her senses hard enough, she fancied that she could gleen an inkling of what these creatures were going on about. With time, she would linger outside longer and longer. Minutes turned into hours, which lasted until the horizon began to glow.. Then she would creep back inside and to her bed, knowing that her father would soon awaken. She must not be caught if she wanted her little adventures to continue.
It was exciting only for a short time. Soon enough came that first step into the forest. As long as she was careful and did not overexert herself, it would be fine, right? Such is the way of temptation. What seemed like a harmless indulgence was growing into a risk that she was blind to.. Or maybe intoxicated by. The nighttime woods were far different from their sunlit counterparts. It was here that she learned of the meager power that she could call her own. The nocturnal creatures didn’t seem to mind her presence. The longer she lingered, the more certain she became that she could sense something from them. She wasn’t sure what.. But when the impulse came, she realized that she could coax these creatures to her hand more easily than she would have thought possible. It was like they trusted her. There was a kind of mutual understanding there, which allowed her to have friends among these creatures of fur and feather. It may not have been much, but it was a wonderful gift.
She put a great deal of care into avoiding possibly running into other people. It wasn’t hard. Night was when most people were asleep and her home was already outside of her home village, so she rarely saw anyone. It was a true shock, then, when one autumn night as she was out in her garden, someone called out to her. In that moment, she was so scared that all she could do was freeze there. She was so sure that this was the end of her wanderings. Luck turned out to be on her side then, however. This stranger was another fairy girl close to her in age. This girl had come out to watch the moon. That first conversation was brief, with Uirwen fleeing as soon as she had regained the nerve to do so. She was so worried that her father would know after that, but he never said anything, so she could only assume that that other girl had not told anyone about seeing her. That would not be the only time they crossed paths. Most nights, she wouldn’t see her. On those occasional meetings, they began talking. It was so nice to be able to interact with someone close to her own age, even if that wasn’t much contact.
To her frustration, the days when she felt well enough for her little adventures were few and far between. By all rights, and following the advice of the village healer, she should have prioritized rest over her explorations. She just assumed that, while she would feel awful for a while, she would be fine as she always had been. Suffice to say that she did not listen as well as she should have out of a desire to make the most of her times of wellness. There were so many reasons she could think of, that seemed so important to her at the time.
She should have listened. Everything went bad so quickly. On a night like any of the others she had spent outside, when she used her magic to try to call over nearby animals from the forest.. Something very unusual appeared. It was a beast like no other she had seen before. Its equine form was more graceful and delicate than any horse. Its pale fur almost seemed to glow in the gloom.. And from its forehead extended a single, slender horn. It was enchanting in a very literal sense. Even though it was clearly no natural creature, Uirwen felt no fear. It brought such a sense of serenity, even benevolence.. She was certain that it held no ill intent whatsoever.
Even its gentle nickering to greet her was unusual for a horse. Its muzzle was velvety to her hands. It's likely that she thought it was a sweet creature. So enamored was she that she thought nothing of it when the beast brought the tip of its horn to press into her chest. There wasn't really any pain to accompany the slight blood that welled up as its horn deeply pierced her chest.
What she had not noticed or known was that her father had been woken up by the unicorn's friendly neighs and had gone to look out of his window. At his shocked shout, the unicorn jerked its head up. Bone caught on the tip of the creature's horn, causing a couple inches to break off. Just like that, the previous serenity was broken, replaced with a blinding pain that tore a scream from her before she collapsed. The empty void of unconsciousness offered an escape from that pain...
This was how she became one of the few immortals in the world. She woke up to a new, painful way of existing which even time could not allow her to fully adjust to. Her life was forever changed. The unicorn reappeared, with its own sorrow over the unfortunate mistakes made there. She was furious, of course.. But could not stay so enraged for all that long.. Mostly because it made her hurt even more. She stayed in her home for as long as she could, but eventually there came a time when, due to various reasons, she had to leave. Within a year, she had to leave.. In a strange turn of events, the equine beast that was the case of her misery became her companion.
Centuries have passed since these events, most of which time has been spent away from other beings. She found solace in the wilds, living off of land and learning through trial and error about nature.. With time, she became used to her condition, learning ways to manage it. Her visits to civilization lasted only as long as she needed something from one of the many towns scattered across the kingdoms. Part of this was due to the unicorn, which she eventually named, as they were highly sought after beasts. Halloth did much to help her, within its ability to do so, and she slowly forgave her.
✪Pets: Halloth - Halloth resembles a horse, but a horse like no other. She is a delicate, petite creature covered in pale, creamy fur, and possessing dark, expressive eyes. Her horn and hooves are both an off-white color, lighter than her fur.
While Uirwen's feelings towards this unicorn are still quite mixed, Halloth has been her faithful companion for centuries, helping her throughout that time. She cannot exactly be called a “pet”, as she is not a kept animal, however she does receive some care akin to what a pet might.
