AEW is just so ******** good. There have only been three episodes on TV, so don't feel like you're too far behind to get into it. There is also plenty of content on YouTube, there are free matches available on YouTube from prior PPVs, and the wrestling on those shows are amazing.
Theres a lot less DQ finishes, where it seems as though theres 3 or 4 every week on RAW & Smackdown combined.
Theres a lot more creative freedom for wrestlers. If youve only seen Dean Ambrose and not Jon Moxley... or if you have only seen Neville and never seen PAC... Please watch AEW.
THE BOOKING ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE!!
The matches arent so rushed and formulaic. People are given 15 minutes to work a 15 minute match rather than cramming just "a bunch of moves" into 3-5 minutes.
The only thing I will say is their womens division is not very good. Britt Baker is very green. I'm talking John Cena bleeding out of his eyes in WWE Game Over (had to say it before Kelly did). Also the refs seem to not call DQs when they should?? Im not a big stickler but I can name 2 matches in the past 3 weeks where the ref clearly sees a weapon being used or outside interference, and they dont call for the bell.
Their tag division is ******** awesome.
Anyways, I guess what Im saying is, if youre tired of having your intelligence insulted every Monday and Friday, watch both shows on Wednesday. Its okay if you prefer NXT but I still think you should do yourself a favor and watch AEW when you can.
Its available on demand on Hulu immediately after the episode airs, AEW Dark is on Tuesdays (AEW Dark is a show that features the dark matches from the prior show), and Being the Elite is a weekly series on YouTube of 15 minute videos that highlight promos, wrestlers reactions to their segments, comedy segments & more.

I tried, I don't like it.
Last week, making Marko Stunt as a viable threat to Fenix and Pentagon Jr. Disgusted me.
Their women's division is absolutely abysmal. Their champion looks like a wrestling doll, and is wearing a title that is smaller than the cheap $15 knock offs you can get at Wal-mart
and it's still too big on her..
and well... Their theme songs suck Pride & Powerful/LAX/Santana Ortiz and Lucha Bros have some abomination themes.
If I took a shot anytime Sammy G stuck his tongue out, I'd be plastered within a minute. Note, I don't drink.
I 'want' to support all wrestling, MLW and NWA are fantastic shows. WOW... Is a guilty pleasure even if the characters and commentary are comically terrible.
ROH has gone down the shitter
But AEW just irks me a lot

AEW is such a breath of fresh air. I lost interest in WWE years ago, with only NJPW keeping my interest in wrestling hanging on. I'm glad there's another fed I can support that doesn't have a super shitty fanbase so far (one of the reasons I dropped WWE). Basically, I look forward to Wednesday nights now.

I have been following The Elite for a couple years now, ever since Jinder Mahal won number one contendership for the WWE Championship in 2017 and I decided “you know, maybe there is something else out there for me.” Discovered NJPW and Being The Elite and have been watching them obsessively, so when AEW was announced, I was very excited.
I love this s**t. It’s awesome. It feels so great with a mix of old school storytelling with modern in ring action. Ever since the start of the company in January, not once have I felt like my intelligence was being insulted. I feel like the company legitimately wants me to enjoy myself, which is such a breath of fresh air, and it creates a situation where because the company wants the fans to be happy, the fans in turn respond and are excited and want the company to succeed. It’s a healthy as ******** relationship.
There’s some stuff they can work on, their live TV is only three episodes deep, they’re not even at their one year anniversary. But it seems like the sky is the limit and I’m all about this s**t.

ROH has gone down the shitter But AEW just irks me a lot I agree with everything but the Marko Stunt thing. He also was only inserted into the match because of a last-second injury to Luchasaurus, so it's not like their original goal was to book Marko Stunt as a legitimate threat. WWE has asked me to believe in a lot less believable things than Marko Stunt getting a few moves of offense. Zach Gowen is just one example. But yes, womens division is going to be horrible until Awesome Kong comes back -- and only that slightly helps. Themes could all be better (although I love Kenny Omegas rn). Insayhem AEW is such a breath of fresh air. I lost interest in WWE years ago, with only NJPW keeping my interest in wrestling hanging on. I'm glad there's another fed I can support that doesn't have a super shitty fanbase so far (one of the reasons I dropped WWE). Basically, I look forward to Wednesday nights now.
I think one of the biggest probelms with the WWE is that if that's all you watch, then you're only conditioned to those type of matches. Luckily I got to see ROH when it actually had a good product to know the difference a little early on, but if I didn't, I would think wrestling was only as good as RAW, Smackdown, and IMPACT could get. ProtoWolf 2.0 I have been following The Elite for a couple years now, ever since Jinder Mahal won number one contendership for the WWE Championship in 2017 and I decided “you know, maybe there is something else out there for me.” Discovered NJPW and Being The Elite and have been watching them obsessively, so when AEW was announced, I was very excited. But it seems like the sky is the limit and I’m all about this s**t. The two biggest points of emphasis to me are the parts about not having my intelligence insulted, and the relationship between the company and its fans. I was being fed s**t sandwiches from the WWE and coming back every week for seconds. Now I have no problem ignoring any of their shows and watching the highlights on twitter or reddit. But I have to see what happens next week on Dynamite. It's a feeling I haven't had towards wrestling, probably since Bryan won WM30.

Another thing I'd like to add with the whole "company wants fans to be happy" is the fact that they're so inclusive and accommodating. The whole "AEW is for everyone" thing is ******** awesome and I'm so down for it.

I've enjoyed maybe most of AEW.
Only awkward thing in terms of what they do, the advertising of future shows in cities in random points. It cuts off the announcers, who have a tough time keeping up with the action already.
They do a great job on the openers and main events. They really don't waste time, they're right into a match after the opening. The tag tournament matches that open were great. The tag matches were nice. The Jericho vs Allin match was kinda rough because of Darby being pretty new to being a main eventer so there was a bit of awkwardness. Plus the dude was using the wrong side of a kendo stick.
Like the Inner Circle. Santana and Ortiz surprised me, a lot of their moves are pretty impactful. Hager I've always been a fan of, his WWECW run involved a lot of him throwing dudes around the ring. I'm so happy he's using the Gutwrench Powerbomb again. Should've never been given the stupid Ankle Lock. Sammy G is another young new guy to main events which showed during the 2nd tag match with Dustin and Hangman. Annnnnd Jericho is Jericho. He does whatever he wants in life and it manages to get over whether he's trying or not.
Women's division....unfortunately the WWE ruined women's wrestling for me. If the main event of Wrestlemania ended in a botch and that's supposed to be the best, I have no interest in a Women's division in a company that's starting up.
Marko Stunt stuff, I actually could care less about him. Him getting offense is whatever, pretty much write him to give him a few hope spots. But a decent amount of the match was Pentagon and Fenix throwing him around, which I wish went on for a little longer because a good way to get someone over is to throw human beings.
The only thing I really don't get, and I don't really watch The Elite or anything, but wondering what the deal is with Hangman Page. Like he's a cowboy gimmick that once rode a horse to a match. They need to either give him promo time or a segment or something on an episode of Dynamite. Because otherwise he's in matches and moments with PAC, Jericho, Cody, Omega, and Jon Moxley....he's going to sink with that type of talent over him. The Moxley/Pac vs Omega/Hangman match was great, just to add.
And finally...Shawn Spears.....yeah he's with Tully Blanchard, but you could put someone else in that spot with Tully because he's kinda carrying that. Plus the last thing you do right now is anything that's relative to the "Perfect 10" Gimmick or anything in relation to WWE. 1. You're reminding me that you're the guy that jobbed in both the developmental and main roster of WWE. 2. You're doing this after Jericho just insulted the WWE creative. Looking more like a loser than before.
Like AEW is in early stages, only three episodes in. They have their main event level talent, and they're making an effort to insert the newer talent and establish them as names. Quite a lot is on their plate to begin with. While I enjoy the shows I'm hoping they make the correct improvements and don't end up bombarded with problems early on.

That, and why are the Young Bucks always mad at him for "not helping" when he's the one who fought with Hager last week?

I've got many reasons to love AEW, but the biggest one for me is that they're showing the world that there's more to wrestling than WWE. I've been gushing about The Elite since King and I watched All In over a year ago, and I've been in love with NJPW since he showed me Kazuchika Okada (AKA, the best wrestler you'll ever see). When my friends hear me ramble about all this s**t, they tell me s**t like "I didn't even know there was anything other than WWE," or "Is it really that big of a deal? Why aren't they in WWE?"
To us, sure; we've always known there were alternatives to WWE, even if most aren't easily accessible. But now the masses have a chance to experience s**t that ISN'T WWE. AEW is bringing real goddamn competition to the table, and the only downside that I can find with it is that it's having to beat down NXT each week, since that's still the last bastion of hope for WWE right now. Bray Wyatt's genius character work put aside, of course.
There are plenty of critiques to be made about AEW, especially as it's their first month of shows so far. The main one I have thus far is still relying a good bit too much on the relationships and stories established in Being The Elite, without filling in the new audience or plugging the show a bit more. Other than that? I'm happy with them. They're doing what no other company has been able to do in years, decades if you wanna write off the shitshow that was TNA. Who knows, maybe WWE will even become a decent show again with proper competition and more options becoming more prevalent. Only time can tell.
Also, Riho is ******** badass and been in the business since she was goddamn 9 years old. Size be damned, she can put on a good match. I lost my s**t when she won the title because I was sure they were gonna put on Nyla Rose (which I was okay with, because she's also a pretty good character). But they subverted expectations, and you know what? They put the title on someone that crowd clearly wanted. Imagine a fan favorite winning a title.
Imagine having a Hell in a Cell match involving literally the best character in the company end in a DQ just so you don't have to put a world title on a dude in a mask.
After that? Yeah, ******** WWE. AEW is new best friend. Ramblin' rant over.

They're wrestlers with western themes. What's not to understand? He's also a famous d**k wrestler.

AEW has certainly been a refreshing watch after so much stale and ridiculous WWE booking over the years! It's not perfect but it is new so deserves some time to develop!
Try NWA Powerrr too, it's uploaded free on YouTube! Old school studio wrestling that is on its second show! cool
