Ralian stepped through the threshold of the forest, actually relieved to see the sun once again. He grabbed his shroud and wrapped it loosely around his head. He walked back to the last place he had seen the woman he was talking with. He looked around the immediate area, tracing his finger on the statue containing a secret entrance into the catacombs below the town. "Was she sincere...?" he muttered to himself, thinking of her offer on training him on the use of magic. Though the offer seemed sincere, she had seemed awfully timid, and uncertain when she had parted ways. Now without her in sight, Ralian clenched a fist before giving a sigh. Ralian bowed his head with a grimace: he couldn't have been abandoned again, right?
No. Picking himself up, Ralian looked around and started walking the town. Would he see the Sage again, then he would ask her the question of becoming her pupil. If he didn't see her, or should she refuse, then so be it. He gave another breath, shaking off the torrent of emotions that had built within him. Off he went to search for the mysterious woman.
