|
Mother Minnow  Minnow is a bubbly and excitable wolf who was raised by her adoptive mother after her birth parents vanished. For the majority of her youth she only met one wolf, and that was Misty Elk. Out of loneliness, Minnow left the swamp she was raised in and met Willow Bark. He introduced her to Swiftfell and the two quickly fell in-love. Unfortunately, both had trouble figuring out how to tell the other.
The two spent one night together, which immediately caused Minnow to avoid Willow out of sheer nerves. When she discovered her pregnancy it was almost a blessing, as Willow was beyond elated and admitted his affections for her. The two instantly became mates and welcomed their children with bright smiles.
Father Willow Bark The Beta of Swiftfell, he isn't new to the idea of children, although this is his first litter he's witnessed born. Willow Bark has had a night with a stranger before (Sable), resulting in the birth of four children he was unaware of until recently. In fact, one of his kids even tracked him down and joined the pack. Ghost Whisper has been a welcomed addition, luckily, and the two are still figuring out their relationship.
When he met Minnow he instantly fell for the cheerful wolf. He became her guide in the pack and helped her settle in. He comforted her during the storms she so feared and helped her understand pack life. When Minnow avoided him after their brief and honestly unplanned night it stung, but he waited patiently to hear from her. He just... didn't expect to hear she had puppies coming! He was delighted, however, and immediately confessed his love for the she-wolf.
This is the first time he's raised puppies, but Minnow is sure he'll be an excellent father. After all, it's her first time too -- they can figure it out together.
Half-Sister Ghost Whisper  Ghost Whisper was the result of a fling between Willow Bark and Sable. She found her father and the pack as an adult and recently joined. Pack life suits her, honestly. Minnow and Ghost Whisper get along very well, although Minnow cannot get herself to ever see herself as Ghost Whisper's stepmom on her own. The topic has never come up, and really Minnow is okay with that! She is very fond of Ghost Whisper and it's expected the puppies will know Ghost as their half-sister.
Ghost Whisper has a few siblings, although none have met Minnow or Willow Bark. These siblings are; Drifting Fog, Shadow Step and Vileblood. Their mother is Sable.
Grandmother Misty Elk The wolf who raised Minnow. While she lives quite far away in a swamp she is often spoken fondly of by Minnow. There's a hope for the puppies to meet Misty Elk someday, but Minnow just isn't sure how to accomplish that. Regardless, she's sure to let the puppies know about her adoptive mother and just how wonderful she is.
Sister Maple  The first born, and she's bound to make you know it. Maple is uncertain of her future and where she wants to be within the pack. She admires Ghost Whisper and perhaps will follow in her pawsteps as an adult, but while she's a puppy she's been fascinated with being an Alpha. Sure, she's female and looking fairly small (and will continue to be petite just like Minnow), but in her mind there's always a first for something. She's so certain she'll be Alpha someday that she has begun announcing it to anyone who will listen.
As an adult she will be easy to fluster and frustrated about her size. She'll most likely be an excellent hunter. She'll have a passionate temper related to the protection of her family and honestly her own honor. Make fun of her size? Expect a tiny wolf yapping at you. Maple works hard to prove her worth and will often feel like she's not doing enough.
Brother Hoot  The fourth born, Hoot is also the smallest. Though his mother likes to reassure him that he's completely fine and of a normal enough stature, he remains nervous about it. Really, he's nervous and insecure about a lot of things. Awkward and unable to pick up on idiosyncrasies like sarcasm, Hoot is gullible and often rather depressed at the lot life has given him (he also happens to be a smidge dramatic). Because he does not feel like he fits into a lot of social spaces, he can usually be found trailing Minnow, constantly using her as a shield from anyone who may have a joke about his rather silly name (although Minnow insists that it's a good, strong name, not everyone agrees) or the size of his tiny paws.
When he reaches adulthood, Hoot will remain small and deeply uncomfortable with it. He'll make a friend or two that he shares a deep bond with, but for the most part he will be a bit of an outcast (primarily due to his own insecurities and discomfort in social situations, not because of any particular wolves) and a total momma's boy. His father will always intimidate him, as he knows he will never be able to fill the giant pawprints left behind by Willow Bark.

Future Plots: I want her to fail at saving someone. And I want it to happen in front of her so she has to deal with all of the repercussions that come with her failure. I want her to learn from it that she truly can't save everybody as she wishes. I want to see what she'll take from it.

Views on Love: The best material comes from a good love story. Maybe it doesn’t end well—tragedy has its own sweetness—but seeing two wolves love each other like her parents have is exactly the saccharine ending Hazel wants. And she wants a good story to accompany it! Maybe she’ll sneak out at night and be in a “dangerous” situation (of her own making) to tempt her Prince Charming out...Still, other’s stories are MUCH more fun to dabble in. She’s much more a narrator than a player, if you ask her. |

Brief Personality: Honestly, there's only one way to really describe Wren; a hot mess. This lovely little lady is easily excitable and just as easily distracted with a heaping dose of clumsy thrown in there. She's been known to trip over her own paws and will likely be teased or even bullied over it. Anyone that does probably wouldn't expect her to puff her chest out and try to defend herself, verbally at least. She doesn't have a combative bone in her body, but she will not back down from bullies, even if she does get roughed up in the end.
She has a good heart, full of love and compassion for everyone around her. Very emotional, Wren is also known to cry... a lot. Angry, sad, or completely elated, she cries. She really can't help it.
Wren is also ridiculously trusting and easily manipulated. Add a side of desire to please and it's likely to get her into trouble in the future, she just doesn't see it.
Views on Pack: Her pack is her family, basically. She enjoys her life with them as a whole and will honestly not want to leave. Ever. She's content with her life and won't see the point in leaving when she has everything here already.
She could be coerced into leaving, temporarily, by another though. It won't really take much, even for a stranger.
Future Plots:
Bullies I want her to have a bully or two (or a whole group) to pick on her as a pup about... well, her. She's a pretty easy target with her emotional outbursts and klutzy nature. I can say "she'll do this" all day long but I'd love to see what she would really take from all of it.
Growing Up In her adulthood, Wren will be thinner than most other wolves, naturally. She won't care too much but it will garner her some attention. Be it from bullies again or wolves now taking an interest in the young female. I'd enjoy it if one of her bullies as pup took a 180 and now decides flirting with her is better than picking on her. She wouldn't know how to react to this and I'd honestly just love to see how it goes.
Beyond the Borders I want someone to trick or convince her to go with them outside the pack's territory. Play on her kind heart, blackmail her, anything to get her to go. This could be for a variety of reasons, which I'll just leave open because who knows what could come of this. All I know is it definitely won't be her idea to leave and she'll likely regret it.
Return When she comes home, Wren will be done with the outside. Whatever happened, good or bad, will have made up her mind that her pack is where she's meant to be. She'll be grateful for the adventure but let's not do it again please and thank you.

Brief Personality: Rough and tumble with an attitude, this girl is... not what you'd expect from a girl. She loves to get dirty and adores the water. Can't find her? Follow the muddy puddles and sounds of splashing.
Very opinionated, stubborn and not afraid to share her thoughts, she'll definitely be a handful for whomever tries to tame her wild heart.
Views on Family: Strickleback loves her family! She just wants to hurl every time her parents make kissy faces at each other. She'll whine and groan if she's pulled into family cuddles but deep down she's really eating it all up. She'll be really protective of Hoot. She's a big girl and she secretly will feel like it's her fault somehow that he's so small comparatively.
Views on Love: It's not for her. At least not the sappy, mushy love she sees between her parents. She dreams of freedom and adventure, tales of terror and wonder. If love is to find her, it had better bring a branch to whap her upside the head and make her realize it, otherwise she may just pass up a love meant just for her. |

Looking Forward!
Username: Owlsomniac
Puppy Name: Sandpiper
Brief Personality: Excitable, curious, adventurous and wary of newcomers, Sandpiper likes nothing more than to play pretend. She can often be found playing in the shallow waters near ponds or streams, catching frogs and bugs before some new interest catches her attention. Her outgoing personality, in this regard, is definitely a reflection of her mother.
However, while she's more than happy to play and flounce about when left to her own devices, she has a harder time opening up around other wolves - especially strangers. She clams right up, and becomes a shy, soft, thing. Give her a chance, though, and eventually she'll warm up.
Views on Pack: She loves her family. As a puppy she's still learning and growing and figuring out how she fits and belongs. More comfortable playing on her own, or sometimes with her siblings and close family members, she hasn't yet grown the confidence to consider how she might be of use later on. As she matures, however, her curious, quick, mind and sweet, gentle, temper will balance out into a caring, intelligent, wolf who is a good listener as well as someone who isn't afraid of a little adventure.
Future Plots:
- I'd love any sort of plot where she's able to grow her confidence! Meeting new wolves would be great, or just playing with her siblings?
- She would probably stay in the pack, given her shyness with outsiders. Given that, it could be nice to have some plots with her growing into a role of Caretaker or Healer! |

Puppy Name: Starling
Brief Personality: Starling is bigger than some of her siblings, in both physique and personality! She is likely to butt heads with her sister, Maple. Just because she's the eldest, doesn't mean she's gonna be the Alpha, cause that's what Starling is gonna do! She'll sit on anyone who says otherwise.
Views on Family: Starling loves her parents, even with their mushy love story. She looks up to her parents and accepts Ghost Whisper as a half-sister, even if she can't push her around as easily as she can with her littermates.
Speaking of her littermates, Starling likes to act as though she's the leader of the lot! Sure, she may not be the eldest, but she's bigger and she's ready to throw her weight around! If anyone doesn't like how she acts, she'll squash 'em! But, only when her parents aren't looking, that is.
Views on Love: Given Starling's rowdy way of interacting with others, it's very likely that she'll follow in her father's pawsteps and announce that she loves someone immediately. Whether this bold declaration works or not will be a problem for an adult Starling; right now she doesn't have to worry about it just yet.
Looking Forward!

Brief Personality: Quail may be a quiet pup, but she's not one to be pushed around. She won't allow herself to be bullied because she's the youngest of the group. She's just as capable as anyone else, thank you very much! She'll often wander off on her own, dreaming of far-away adventures, at first within the pack's boundaries and maybe as she starts to get older... beyond.
Views on Pack: Despite her desire to travel beyond the borders of the Swiftfell pack, Quail's loyalty remains to the place where she grew up. If she were ever to leave on a family-searching adventure (see Future Plots) she would always come home to her family and pack mates.
She would take great pleasure in becoming a Caretaker when she was older, so that she could do her part in raising the youth, as her parents took such good care of her, she wants to pass on to new pups coming into the pack.
Future Plots:Searching for Grandmama - Growing up on stories about how wonderful Misty Elk was to her mother, Quail will often think about exploring outside the pack, finding Misty Elk and bringing her back to the Swiftfell, so live with everyone as a big happy family! --> I can see Quail trying to wander off as a pup with this intention, only to be brought back by one of her parents, once they realize they only have four pups in the burrow. Perhaps this may become a life-long goal? Though she would always want to come back home.
Tales from Beyond - Ghost Whisper didn't always live in the Swiftfell, so Quail would pester her for information about what it was like beyond the borders that kept them within their pack. Were there birds the size of trees? Did the clouds walk among wolves? Was the prey different? She wants to know everything about everything and Ghost Whisper is surely the wolf to ask. They are family, after all.
