- Yun is largely a being of energy. In addition to having infused a significant amount of energy into Proteus, she is not well 'tethered' to the mortal realms, and has also been cast out by her deity. This has left her with a spiritual/spectral like essence. Gravity does not seem to effect her, nor walls and the like. This means she cannot influence physical things without a significant amount of focus and she grows tired easily while doing this.
Yun can be affected by magic, and her own magic is related to the energy of living things. She is able to siphon energy from others, or transfer energy to them. This ability works best on weakened creatures, either restoring them, or snuffing out their life. She is unable to freely manipulate the energy of a fully healthy individual unless they were to relinquish control of their own free will to allow her to take from them.

Personality |
- Working and being alone much of the time since her creation, Yun is slightly more of an introvert than an extrovert. Even if she might feel shy or unsure, she can still interact with others and manage herself in a group without feeling the need to hide. She prefers to put on an authoritative voice in stressful situations, even if she doesn’t have full faith in herself. She would just prefer not to see others unsettled, and finds putting on a calm exterior helps with that, rather than honestly showing her feelings.
When it comes to making decisions, Yun tends to trust her instincts and emotions. It’s not that she throws logic to the side and runs ahead. On the contrary, Yun prefers to have a plan, and understand what she’d getting herself into, but she had a hard time keeping to her plans if it means ignoring a problem. For instance, she prefers to plan out her entire day rather, or would plan all the activities in an outing rather than letting things just ‘go with the flow’, but if something unexpected happened, she would react based on her emotions rather than her plans.
Overall, Yun projects calm confidence and kindness, but is not as confident as she appears. She can have a self-sacrificing streak and dislikes the feeling of being lonely even if she’s used to it. Others might describe her as reliable and kind, while she would describe herself as lost and, lately, as selfish. She has a natural curiosity that drives her to learn new things when she’s given the chance, but a strong sense of obligation to complete tasks set before her. She is a follower of the rules unless… unless she must break them to help… her friend.
History |
- Created by a lunar deity, Yunuen understood her purpose from the moment she opened her shining blue eyes. She was a collector of ‘energy’, of souls. Her Deity was at war in the celestial plane and sent collectors out to pick up the essence of the fallen and near-death in battlefields, so that it could be repurposed into new life. Did this make her an angel of death? Yun had never believed that of herself as she went about her lonely work. The eerie quiet of the fields of celestial bodies left her lots of time to think about life and death. She was ferrying this energy to be reborn. She liked to imagine what her deity would create, the daydreams keeping her mind from dwelling on the morbidity of her surroundings.
Life for her changed the day she found a soldier with enough life to speak. He was weak and dying, yet retained a sense of humor. Yunuen thought he might have been scared, she’d seen fear behind the eyes of others whose life had been fading from their eyes but… not this soldier. He cracked a joke, seeming happy to see her. It was an unfamiliar feeling, smiling. His voice was a strange break in the silence of her work. As she held her hand over his head, Yunuen couldn’t bring herself to take his life force. She convinced herself that he had enough life left that he wasn’t ready to die. Instead, she revitalized him. Her deity didn’t need every drop of the energy she’d collected, did she?
The two met like this again, and again. The soldier was a reckless man, but his tenacity always saw him clinging to life. Yunuen found herself searching him out on every silenced battle field she tread upon. The two angels became friends, their jovial conversations in stark contrast to their surroundings. The meetings always felt too short… Yun was able to visit the soldier from time to time without his life being in peril, but her work so often occupied her time. Regardless of the hurdles, the two could not have been considered anything other than close.
It had only been a matter of time until she arrived too late. It wasn’t a thought that had crossed Yun’s mind. She’d taken for granted that he’d always hang in there. Her mind ground to a halt, not wanting to accepted it when she found his lifeless form. She’d started to collect his energy without even realizing it at first, horror etching into her expression when she realized how unrecognizable he was like this.
It couldn’t be. It simply couldn’t!
Attempting to separate his energy from the others in the battlefield, Yun dragged the soldier’s body to her lonely home, dangerously near her deity. She couldn’t just leave him there. She could save him, she’d always been able to save him before. Ignoring that her deity had sole rights to repurpose energy, and her duties, Yunuen locked herself away and tried for days to use her abilities to bring the soldier back. Forcing the essence of his soul back into its celestial form, draining her own energy in the act, her physical form fading as his solidified.
The forbidden act revived the solider, only, he wasn’t exactly himself. His mind was confused, housing the memories of other fallen soldiers. Familiar eyes opened, but at first did not look on Yun with any spark of recognition. It was Yun’s wailing cries that brought her and the soldier to their Deity’s attention.
Their Deity had to cast them out. Yunuen had restored life on her own, going against that which she’d been created for. However, the lunar deity was a goddess that understood love, even if her angels did not recognize it themselves. She cast them out of the divine realms, denouncing them, leaving them to be fallen. Yet, she still watched out for them. The lunar goddess had a follower in the corporeal realm start them on a journey of growth and redemption, settling the two into Cordelia Academy to learn about the world. Yunuen believes herself a blight to her goddess and is unaware of her help. She believes it little more than luck that she and her soldier found aid, being able to situate themselves into a place of learning where they were guaranteed a roof over their heads for a time.

- As an angel Yuneun, never owned anything. The chance to keep things has her hording small objects she doesn't have as much trouble interacting with.
Eventually, given enough energy, she might be able to take on a slightly more corporeal form, which would make her able to interact with the world more freely.
She does not eat, but rather requires energy to keed from fading away. She often collects from animals or plants but it is less effective than someone allowing her to take energy from them.
