█BACKGROUND ▬ Second born to the Tora family, and to be the only son, Ichirou was born into the loving tiger family during Yukiko's fourth summer. ▬ Yukiko (besides his parents) would be the only person he found himself with as a young cub. In creating a strong sibling connection with his older sister, he would follow her everywhere, and she would allow him to; especially when he learned to walk by his first year. ▬ Unlike Yuki, Ichi was a rather quiet, if escape-artist, as a two-years-old. He found he was able to escape the crib and open doors to see what they hid. This became worse when Yuki got her own room from him. (And Yuki reminds him to this day.) Eventually he grew out of it by the end of his third year. ▬ When he was four years old, he would go with mother or father to be watched while they worked (mostly mother) when he was not in preschool. This year, he would also get to meet their newest sibling, Haruko. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever set his eyes on; a quiet and serene babe, he swore then and there to always protect her. Proclaiming to his parents that he would watch over her always; this made his parents giggle, though why he did not know. ▬ At age 5, he would start kindergarten, going to the same elementary school as Yukiko and some of her friends. He still had fun with his older sister, even when they made their own friends. ▬ He was 6 when Ichi also made fond memories as Yuki took the time to watch over him and even take him to the park to play with everyone. He was growing close a Pomeranian faunus he called Pom-chan and a girl only a year older than himself, Dracaena (Drac for short). Right after school and games though, he would be right back close to his Haru-chan, now age two and still just as agreeable as when she was born. ▬ Living in the apartment above their family restaurant/tea house, Heart of Eterni-Tea, he was happy when their parents would take them to the apartment above the bookshop that was currently their dojo. But it was clear that a family of five would need more space. During his eighth year, he would be taken to the dojo with Yuki-chan (now age 12) and choose his weapon to start training with; as was Tora tradition. He was proud to choose a quarterstaff as his first weapon. ▬ His eighth spring, the Tora's were blessed with another baby girl, Tsuki. He was so proud, even if she was a vocal babe. And he wouldn't have it any other way. (Though he had a feeling she would be much like Yukiko in spirit.) ▬ During his ninth year, the family had decided to invest in a plot of land just outside of the commercial district of Vale. A half acre of land, the Tora's build their house with help from friends and even put a dojo in the backyard. Haru also started kindergarten. Pleased, he would get his own room, he chose to be close live between Yuki's and Haru's (A choice he'd come to regret someday). ▬ When he was 10-years-old Yuki was age 14, he tried to cut in "on behalf of her honor". Needless to say after she "talked to him", he never again would interfere in her affairs again. Dejected, he would look to his dad for answers only to be told that some things they must experience on his own. In talking to Drac, he learned that sometimes it was alright for him to step back (after all, we don't all need saving all the time). ▬ As the years passed, he would notice his older sister go through many "crushes" but he would not interfere. He learned it was better to care for her after the crush was over; even if he didn't really understand it all yet. He would also meet his friends (and future teammates) in this year. ▬ He was saddened his twelfth year as Yuki and her friends were headed to Beacon, which meant she wouldn't be home anymore...for a while at least. Even now that she was in high school ages though, he didn't fear them growing apart. The thought that Haru and Tsuki would be with him also eased his concern for their older sister. ▬ Ichi (now 13) had been training alongside Haruko (age 9) when they were not helping at the shops or looking after a Very spirited and escape-artist Miya. They would also enjoy rounds of chess in the evening. It turned out, their mother was right about Yuki's love of the family. For that autumn, the Tora household would experience a gift in the form of their fifth child, Moriko and Yuki came back just to see her. And he fell in love all over again; vowing to be just as protective of his sisters as he would be of all his family. ▬ With their eldest back at Beacon, Ichirou prepared to do what was necessary to be able to attend it as well in the years to come. Though it saddened him to leave his little sisters behind, he promised to come and visit as often as possible. And with the friends he made in school by his side, he felt more certain this might be the right path for himself. He also looked forward to seeing the fair girl that had befriended his older and younger sisters. ▬ Spending his time with Drac when she wasn't busy at Beacon, he had to admit to herself at the age 14, experiencing his first crush. Of course, he knew that the human girl had no idea (she couldn't read feelings for some reason). Of course, he had asked her out once, only to be shot down; she had read it as just hanging out with a good friend rather than a date. So, he would accept it as such. All the while, he would be getting treated oddly by his friend, Carwyn; a pit bull faunus with a bit of a gruff exterior but a big heart that he cared for like another sister. ▬ When he was 15, he was proud to attend Yukiko's and Team CLAY's graduation, for they were now real huntsmen/women. But it surprised him when she chose family over her duties to the country. He couldn't say it made his heart sing with happiness though. ▬ During his last year before he would attend the prestigious huntsmen academy though, he would experience a prank (that he later beat Russ for). Essentially, the poor guy got blindfolded on a dare, where his friend led him to a place he didn't know; no help from Wynnie...the blindfold removed, found himself in the girl's locker room. Trapped with angry young women was scarring...and that is all he will say about it. Seeing his reaction, his parents didn't punish him, instead they sent him to see Dr. Lenz to make sure he would be okay. Once he was okay to go back, he stayed quiet and mostly to himself in school. On a positive note, he had discovered his semblance as he focused the uncomfortable and negative emotion; allowing it to take shape as a ferocious dark orange tiger aura while he was in the forest with Eva's and his father's assistance. ▬ At the age of 16, a year after Yukiko had graduated, the family was blessed with their sixth and last sibling; quiet as Haruko and pure as could be, it almost pained him to say goodbye the next month. He would attend Beacon Academy with his friends. Together they formed Team RICE (Rusty Riddler; Ichi Tora, second eldest; Carwyn O'Connell; Evangeline Riverdale). ▬ As the young man worked with his team, much like a second-in-command, he was proud of how his team had come so far. Though when he could, he would return and act as chef for their restaurant/tea house. While he'd always been athletic for his age, Ichirou also went through a wild growth spurt while in Beacon along with his teammates. ▬ It had happened his Sophomore year (age 17), tragedy struck the team while on a retrieval mission, with Yukiko as chaperone. What started out as a simple mission turned to deadly as the group was met with a hoard of Lancers. Fight as they might, their auras were depleting slowly before being ordered to retreat. Carwyn, their stubborn pit bull partner with the berserker semblance would fall back, before anyone could stop her, and tried to take on the rest on her own. Heavy rainfalls finally made the Grimm retreat. They had tried to get her to the hospitals, but they were too late. ▬ It would be several weeks on recovery and regrouping before they were given another teammate; Catherine "Cat" Valleygold. Though they still felt the loss, they would grow to trust and incorporate the human girl. The glory of being a huntsman dulled forever, but he would stick to it. It was who he was after all. ▬ His 18th year, Junior year at Beacon Academy, he and his team had grown close as it once was. The awkwardness he usually experiences with the opposite sex waned with Cat and Eva at least as they were his closest friends next to Drac whom was in her Senior year now. Close to the end of that year, theirs and a few other teams were ordered on an emergency find and rescue for Team SHLD; Drac's team! Team RICE had been first on the scene with another team to take care of the last few Grimm that had been there. Once they were gone, he had taken Drac to the closest emergency medic, turned out she was the only one alive (if barely). ▬ Throughout all of the darkness, he still kept a shred of hope that it would get better. And it did, their senior year (age 19) Team RICE was sent on more missions that would take them away from cities and to smaller villages around in the kingdom of Vale. Taking time to learn of spices they could use in future; thinking of the kitchens back home. Rather than being a hunter, he would become the chef for the Tora's tea shop/restaurant when he graduated. ▬ His graduating year had him worried as Haru had just entered Beacon Academy rather than going into business school. But he would stop her from going since his little sister had already made up her mind. So, he would keep in touch with her, train with her when she came home and enjoyed time with his other three little sisters when not working. Protective of them as ever. ▬ Haru had ended up getting critically injured when he was almost 21-years-old. When it happened, he spent close time with her, helping her to recover. Though she seemed to be fine after a while, changing her path. He would just pray not to lose anymore loved ones. ▬ Sadly, not all prayers are answered. He had had a long day at the tea shop, and so had crashed as soon as he hit his bed. Late into the night, maybe early morning, he awoke to the scent of smoke. Instantly alert, the tiger faunus would run through the house, telling his siblings and parents. The fire was rapid, but Haruko and Yuki were out. Moriko and Tsuki had escaped as well...but where was Fuyuko?! Panicked, Ichi was about to rush back in. It had happened so quickly...One second he saw his parents with a covered little tigress, the next she was in his hands...and they were behind a curtain of flames and he was forced by the heat to retreat. ▬ It had been two years since the tragedy of the Tora family. With Haru's convincing, Ichirou adopted Moriko, Yukiko adopted Tsukiko, And Haruko took Fuyuko. The shops were still under the family's management/ownership, and Tsuki was in Beacon now. Though life has presented challenges, as long as he lived, he will continue to meet them.
█FUTURE PLANS ▬ No death is planned for him or his siblings. He can be seen from time to time when he is out of Heart of Eterni-Tea's kitchen and exploring the Streets of Vale. Unless you visit the Tora house just on the outskirts of Vale's commercial area you won't see him much. He is also very protective of his sisters (especially Haruko and Fuyuko) so every once in a while he will take a stranger away to the alley and talk with them before they leave.
