((Part of this event)) Quote: Before you can enter the lavishly decorated ballroom, you are guided first to the "Masquerade Closet" by one of the staff members who goes "You cannot enter without the proper attire!" You are left alone in a ginormous closet, one of more than a dozen set up, filled to the brim with clean and meticulously maintained costumes to choose from. You look on with slight fascination and the thought of "These damned rich people." before giving into the requirement and finding something that suits your tastes. Oh well, as extravagant as this all is, at least you know that you're not the only one dressed to the nines here. And who knows, maybe you'll actually like wearing... err, whatever it is you are wearing! When the ad about a ‘Friend Day Extravaganza’ first came out Shannon dismissed it as another hokey event, a event that she was planning on passing up. Why exactly did she want to go to a event like that? It wasn’t exactly like she wanted or needed more friends… or even a boyfriend. She had enough people right now to keep herself entertained for quite a while and if she didn’t then there was always finding someone from the negaverse to suck up too. She could always use ‘training’ as an excuse to snuggle up to someone who had the pull together the stuff she wanted. Although making more connections were always useful, but she was still going to give the whole thing a pass… honestly large groups of people were starting to give her the heebie-jeebies. It was even making being in clubs harder, which made her job and her ‘job’ that much more complicated. So how exactly did she find herself the Wiggleston Estate? Simple, she was hired to be here. Specifically she was roped into doing a piece on the event. She was told to see everything, do everything, try everything, and above all else snag an interview with the elderly couple who were running the whole shindig. So here she was in a rather nice black cocktail dress, a drink in hand, and eyeing the little information card she was given. The couple had done a randomized ‘friend’-date thing and since one of Shannon’s job requirements was to ‘do everything’ she had signed up. So now she was looking for a eighteen year old by the name Jacques Lécuyer… Oh goodie… she was going to be babysitting! Shannon mentally rolled her eyes and started towards the ‘designated meeting spot’ over by the ‘Masquerade Closet’, whatever that was. Maybe she will actually have fun… maybe. SSBrosB She will be less grumpy once she sees the fancy outfits they are going to put them in

Jacques hadn't even given the event a thought when he had first seen it posted. Instead he was in the middle of studying and still figuring out all of this corrupted senshi stuff. And getting over the bottle stuff in January. He felt a shiver go down his spine. He still hated thinking about it. Was that what was in store for him as an agent of the Negaverse? His mother had suggested to him that he needed a break and that he might find "someone special" at the event and well, off he went. Not that he thought that he would find anyone. After all, he was perfectly fine himself! But he figured it would be a good distraction from the "other" half of himself, and so he had signed up and had been paired with some older twenty-something. Honestly he would have preferred being alone. He hoped that he would be able to ditch her soon after the event started. When he had tried to enter, he had been ushered away into some "Masquerade Closet" and told that he needed to find some outfit to put on if he wanted to enter. At that point he had thought about turning around. After all, how many people had already worn these clothes? But he decided to get through it and looked at all of the outfits. Most of them were ridiculous and he wouldn't be seen in them even with a mask on and with a promise that no pictures or video were taken of him while wearing it. He did eventually find a nice royal blue "royal" outfit that he decided to wear. At least it looked like something people might wear in this day and age. He only hoped that "Shannon Mccord" wasn't trying to re-live her early twenties by attending this event and that he would be stuck with some woman in a ridiculous outfit the rest of the night.

SSBrosB ha, nether of them want to be there XD Once Shannon got close she was swept into a large room full of costumes with the instructions to change since apparently her simple black dress just wasn’t going to cut it. The curvy woman was torn between being insulted over the diss to her outfit or jealous on the size of the closet. Her bedroom wasn’t as big as the closet! It made her practically sick with envy. Fine! If these bloody rich people were forcing to change then she would find the most beautiful, stunning dress possible for her. A few minutes later she exited the room in a off the shoulder hunter green ball gown that made her feel like a real princess. The color was stunning against her darker skin and matched perfectly with the tips of her hair. If only she had the jewelry as well. Ah well, couldn’t have everything. Her simple gold necklace would have to do, the small diamond drop nestling perfectly on her chest, not that she expected her ‘date’ to even notice or get close enough to spot it. She might like men but she is no cradle robber. Either way she needed to get this ‘date’ over with so she could go on to check out the rest that this event had to offer. With a sigh she entered the ballroom only to come to a stop and blink in surprise. It was gorgeous! She absolutely hated it… even as she loved it. Envy reared its ugly head once more but Shannon squashed it down as she snagged a passing glass of champagne and took a sip as her silver eyes ran over the surrounding people. Her date was here somewhere, likely near the entrance if her guess was right. Now she just needed to find a kid playing dress up and at least make it look like she was having fun before moving on. If she was lucky she would be able to snag a real man for the rest of the party. Shannon’s gaze landed on a blond young man in a blue outfit that screamed ‘royal’. He was most definitely younger then she was. Could he be her ‘date’? With a swish of her skirts she approached the younger man and simply asked, “Jacques?”

When Jacques was finally ready he had been led into the large ballroom, and immediately looked to see if there was any food that he could snag. Unfortunately the ballroom was empty except for the people and the alcoholic drinks that he obviously couldn't partake in. He sighed, hoping that they would eventually bring out the food at some point. For right now though, he asked for some sparkling wine while waiting for his "date". And after a few minutes a woman came in a deep green ball gown which he had to admit looked quite good on her. Still though, he had to remember that she was almost ten years older than him. There would be no actual attraction from all of this. Besides, the best looking one was the one he saw in his own mirror at home. How could he possibly find anyone better than that? He smiled and nodded at her. "Shannon I presume? I'm glad that we got here early so we could enjoy the place. Though I think it's a bit silly to do this randomized dating stuff." He said, giving her a smile. "Let's just look at all of this as acquaintances shall we?"

Shannon returned his smile with one of her own, it just had a bit more sarcastic twist to it. “I can’t agree more with you there. I’m personally doing this for work,” she took a sip of her drink and eyed him once more. “How exactly did you get mixed up in this if you find it ‘silly’?” Not that she really cared, but his answer could be a good point to mix into her piece on this whole shindig. She glanced back over at the teaming ballroom and wished she had her camera, the mass of jewel tones blended together in a rather surreal picture. “It’s rather shocking just how much work went into such an event. Just these outfits alone had to have cost a pretty penny and yet they practically forced us into them.” Silver eyes cut back to Jacques, a pale brow rising even as she teased him, “I’m assuming that you didn’t come dressed like a Disney Prince, yes?”

Jacques grimaced. "I don't find the whole thing silly, just the date mixer silly. I mean come on, I'm not into... older women so a date with someone who is almost a decade older than me is ridiculous. And you going on a date with someone so much younger is silly right? That's what makes this all so "silly" to me." He tried not to insult her, but somehow bringing up the age of a woman somehow always got a mad response. Please, if they really cared about their looks as much as he did, they would know that they could still look younger when they were older. They had products for that now. With the second question he rolled his eyes but couldn't stop a smile. "Of course not. I was shoved, rather unceremoniously, into a costume closet and I just decided to choose the outfit I looked the best in." He said, rather matter-of-factly. "I assume you didn't wear such an expensive dress here either, though the green goes well with your complexion." Giving her a serious look and leaning a bit closer, looking her up and down. He wasn't doing it in a perverted way. He did like to give fashion advice here and there if need be. Not that this woman needed it.

SSBrosB .... yeah she did not like the old comment rofl Shannon took a firm hold on her emotions when the little s**t implied that she was old. Like hell was she old! She was 27 and looked a hell of a lot younger when she wanted. Normally she went for the youthful, and yet mature, look that her figure was best for. Too ‘young’ and you slip into perverted real fast so Shannon was very careful in how she dressed and did her makeup. And this little squirt dare imply she was old! He was lucky she didn’t pile drive his a** into the ground. But…. she was a lady and doing such a pleasingly violent move wouldn’t help her write her article. Besides the sooner she finished socializing with the brat the sooner she could dance with one of the hotter guys, ones that were legal. “Word of advice Skippy, never imply a lady is old. Not even in passing,” She smiled but there wasn’t a drop of cheer behind it, more like blood. Lots and lots of blood. “You won’t like what will happen. K?” With that Shannon drained the last of her drink and took a deep breath, mentally shaking off the annoyance the boy riled up in her. The compliment helped her settle her mind, a lot actually. At least he wasn’t a complete lost cause when it came to girls, it wasn’t the best of lines but Shannon didn’t exactly expect Shakespeare from a kid. “Thank you, I’m partial to green myself and no I don’t normally wear outfits like this. It's a nice change in pace.” There was just something so much more when it came to expensive clothes. Better quality, better materials, better everything. She couldn’t afford this dress if she saved up for a year on her current salary. Not that she had anywhere she could actually wear it, that didn’t mean she didn’t want to keep it. It Might come in handy one day. “So,” She paused and eyed the dancers, “What exactly do we have to do before we can call this date done? I’ve got to see the rest of this place and, no offence, but having a kid tag along isn’t exactly my idea of fun.” She had been determined to be polite but the old crack still rankled her. Guess she wasn’t as over it as she thought.

Jacques shrugged his shoulders. He would call women old whenever he wanted to. He wasn't going to beat around the bush because women decided that they didn't want the truth. Men got old, Women got old, it was all the same to him. He eventually would get old too, but he would also try to keep his good looks for as long as possible. "I didn't come here to hang out with some lady older than me either." He really didn't care about offending her at this point. "I hope we can go out on our own at this point, I would rather take in the sights by myself and get some room ideas rather than going on a "date". Though if there's food I'd like to check that out first and then go and take a walk around. Whether you want to join me in doing that is your choice but it's what I'm going to do." He said, looking around for any table with food that wasn't made of wax on it.

SSBrosB Welp that 'date' didn't go too well >.<' Fin yes? The urge to deck the little brat was rather overwhelming but she held back. She wasn’t in a place that would condone beating him, or yanking his starseed. So instead she just smiled. It was cold at best, more like murderous, but she still kept it ‘pleasant’. “I would say this ‘date’ is as good as done. So nice to meet you but I have better things to do. Like just about anything right now.” She glanced at a non-existent watch and waved her fingers slightly. “Ta… you go run along, have fun with other kids your age now. Don’t get into too much trouble,” She was being condescending and patronizing on purpose. He was a snot nose brat who was just keeping her from doing her job at this point. She didn’t need to be nice to him. Without anything else to say she took what was left of her drink and walked off into the crowd of dancing adults. The kid could take care of himself. After all a ‘old lady’ like her should stick to others who were her age. ******** brat.
