As they grew older, becoming more in touch with the world outside of their happy little bubble, the realization that so many more forms of love exist, and they decided they would host their own event for the Valentine’s Day Season!
While at first they were very enthusiastic to work as volunteers at the Destiny City Museums’ events, to their horror, they were not doing anything this year due to government cut backs!
Not wanting to put additional stress on the Museums (The cleaning staff post these events were paid quite the over time), they instead chose to host an event, post Valentine’s day as a Fundraiser to help their ever-struggling cultural havens. ((That and chocolate is at an incredible discount, post-Valentine’s!))
At the suggestion of their adult children, they decided that while love and hearts and all that are very wonderful, what people needed more than ever were friends. The stress of Destiny City merely existing, along with the hustle and bustle and burnout of the younger generation, was becoming too much, as told by their children. Friends are excellent! Getting to know someone, having that means to vent out and laugh and cry with a person was so extraordinary and rare these days!
Once everything was put together, they sent out a city-side AD about the free event, welcomed all that could attend (With a capacity limit notice, for safety reasons).
The First Annual Wiggleston Estate Friend Day Extravaganza!
The Wiggleston Estate is a massive mansion, straight out of the Great Gatsby, with a large sprawling garden right on the edge of a glittering lake. Yes, it is a bit of a ways out of town, but it is worth the little bit of effort it takes to get there. A few bus rides will put you right at the edge of the gated “neighborhood”, and a lovely guide will escort each arriving party to the estate.
It seems that a lot of thought went into this cultivation of their private estate for the benefit of the public! Large rolling planters were put in to even set up a lovely rose-covered maze (thorns lovingly clipped by very well paid landscapers over the course of… Well, a very long time.). Several lavish sailing charters were rented, their captains all named Janet for some reason, and it is free to guests to go out onto the lake to experience the incredible rush that is a sailing experience! Winds permitting, of course!
And even Bob and Barb know what the youth like, buffets! Their massive spread contains everything you could imagine. Buffalo Pretzel Bits? Yes! Beef, chicken, or soy Ramen? Fresh to order! A massive pile of only the best donuts and French Crullers? You better believe it? An entire bucket of pickles? Of course there is! If there’s something you can’t find, simply ask, and they will do their best to accommodate your needs. A vegan specific buffet is right across the hall, to prevent cross contamination. Please don’t use your fingers, if you do, you will be scolded and hand-slapped by our lovely assistant, Janice.
And you know what people love even more? Dressing up! Yes! There will be staff on hand to dress you and your friends up in the fanciest of ball gowns and suits and other fancy smancy outfits while you laugh and dounce about the fantasy-like ballroom. No, you are not required to dance, yet in the same branch, you are allowed to dab your heart out, if you so choose. As many sizes as possible were gathered, but we do insist you keep your own shoes. That would be far more comfortable for you.
An arcade has been set up, with tokens available for purchase (those in the matching service get 50 tokens free!), and three separate bouncy castles, for children, adults, and for those who rather bounce alone! There are so many things listed, it hard to tell what
Some traditions that the Museum had, such of their match-making service, was very much something that the old couple wanted to do however, with the emphasis that they did not want romantic love to be the only thing noticed this year, they decided to do a randomized friend matching service! Before you enter the event, you will be given your partner's information card, and a designated area to meet, for easily finding of one another.
Attached to the ad in overly fancy script is a form, simple and neat, about whether or not you’d like to draw a number and be paired with a friend. They would like to emphasis that it is random, and no romance is required or encouraged. This is a celebration of chocolate, friendships, and learning to enjoy oneself without the pressure of needed to find love!

gaia_star Signups for the RNG Matching Service are open until Feb 20th 2019, matching done that evening. For Canon reasons, the official date of the gala is Feb. 17th, 2019, so that it does not overlap with the upcoming player event.
gaia_star In that same vein, you are not required to RP with your matched partner. While the pairings put together, it is up to the rolled pairs to set up one of the RPs using a prompt listed.
