Bird: I live in Oklahoma. We have a bird feeder outside already, and I've been able to identify a few of them by their calls and what they look like. The list provided is what I have seen eat the bird food from our other feeder.
Mourning Dove, willow flycatcher, eastern kingbird, to name a few.
My Feeder is made out of: Popsicle sticks from Popsicle we ate. A can from a drink, some rope from the cat tree that we were throwing out, and part of a cardboard egg carton that we were going to also throw out. All were cleaned before use, of course.

Bird: Fairy Bird They eat the food from the feeder, which is mostly river stones or biodegradable - When the food is gone and the cardboard starts to degrade the fairy birds use the river stones to turn the fairy house into their fairy houses.
My Feeder is made out of: The center is a thick cardboard core from work that rolls of plastic come in on for the machines. My nieces and nephews used corner boards from a shipment (corner boards are used to keep the corners of boxes from being damaged in shipping) that I rescued before they went into the trash compactor for their roof. I used part of an old file folder and silk flowers from an arrangement that was going to be tossed. The 'river rocks' and flat marbles were from aquariums. The smaller tower was a wrapping paper tube and is covered in discarded pistachio shells and is roofed with actual acorn tops. I secured a clear plastic plate to the bottom so it would blend better when I place it and give enough edge for the birds to rest as they eat.

Bird: There are a number of feeders in the yard - some contain seeds, another is for peanuts, and a couple of other ones for suet. They are used to attract different birds. I decided to make a bird feeder that would contain seeds. As my bird feeder is small, I am hoping that it will be good for chickadees. American gold finches and purple finches are also seen in our yard and so I hope that the yellow colour from the pipecleaners will attract them to my feeder. Anything that falls to the ground will be picked up by magpies.

My Feeder is made out of: Water bottle, macaroni pasta lid, leftover popsicle sticks used in school, yellow pipe cleaners, glue, and pink string.

We have a number of bird feeders in the yard that have been bought over the years, but this is our first upcycled bird feeder that I made today. I started off with a water bottle, but had a back-up plastic water jug in case the water bottle didn't work. Initially I had the string under the water bottle cap, but after my brother suggested having a hole through the bottle I did that instead. Next, a hole in the water bottle was made and it was then glued to the macaroni pasta lid.

I wanted to have it look like a bird house which was inspired by other bird feeders in the yard and so glued together some popsicle sticks and then attached them to the water bottle. I had 2 braces made, but forgot to attach the second one until after the 1st half of the roof was attached. Unfortunately, I messed up on the angle and so added other popsicle sticks to the roof to brace it further. I chose yellow pipecleaners to decorate the roof because I read that yellow is an attractive colour for goldfinches which is one of the birds that eat from our feeders. So far, I haven't filled it up very high as I don't know yet how much seed the string can withstand before breaking.

Preference List: Crested owl (A), crested owl twin (B), pelican (E), lilac breasted roller (D), carolina parakeet (C)

Art: So, I work in a cafe, which means there is an insane amount of waste. So I kept a few items after the customers were done with them! My thought process is the fact they like to hop around and forage the plate surface would be useful and comfortable to them. The condiment cup and lid only provides a small amount, while being easily refillable since I didn't glue the lid down. While the paper plate might not last long if it rains, at least it will have served a purpose beyond being used once to carry food. It's not the prettiest, but it will definitely serve its purpose!

Bird: Sparrow! These little birds are everywhere in my yard. So I made an itty bitty feeder with them in mind! Though I can imagine it attracting all the other rotten birds that flock to my yard every morning.
My Feeder is made out of: A paper plate, a condiment cup and lid, five straws and some scotch tape.

Bird: red winged black bird, purple finch, and northern cardinal all eat sunflower seeds biggrin so the sunflower seeds are going to go into the middle where the plastic little cups are situated; I'm going to add some corn on the outside of the little containers as well since the purple finch and red winged blackbird also enjoy corn!
My Feeder is made out of:a cheerios box, a plastic protein container, measuring cups from various protein powder containers and a soda can box (I used tape, hot glue and ribbon as well)

Bird: House Finch or other small birbs
My Feeder is made out of: an empty conditioner bottle, Popsicle sticks, cut can of diet Pepsi for shiney, a cut paper plate for holding strips, and lots of tape to protect little feet from sharp edges<3. I didn't have any seed, so I put in some bread just so it wasn't empty. I would be wary feeding dry bread to small birds. I would make sure to moisten it a little if I put it out with the feeder<3

Bird: I was reading up to see which colors would attract birds and discovered that blue and yellow attract finches, bluebirds, blue jays, Canadian jays, chickadees, and more. So I’m excited to see what it will bring.
My Feeder is made out of: Upcycled mugs (one broke, oops!), upcycled plate, copper piping left over from our recent gaswork, a brass fitting also leftover from gaswork (allows ease of removal for filling or weather if needed), epoxy, spray paint.

Bird: Common Blackbird ( Eurasian blackbird )

I chose to make my feeder for the common blackbird because of a male blackbird which frequents my back garden. It's always on it's own among other species of bird and while I threw leftover pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds out for the birds to eat there are quite a few cats that like to stalk around too. Because of this I had planned on buying a bird table however this perfectly timed contest has allowed, and inspired, me to make a bird house/feeder instead of opting to purchase one.

This should hopefully allow more space for the blackbird to feed and feel safer while doing so; this feeder will be hung on my washing line.

My Feeder is made out of: Cardboard, plastic bags, plastic packaging, various pieces of leftover fabric & thread, duct tape, glue & staples.

I chose these materials because I usually have a stack of recycling that I collect to make DIY toys and projects with my little one and one particular cardboard box that we had previously made in to a train tunnel caught my eye for this project because it was already the perfect shape for a bird house/feeder.

Bird: This feeder is ideal for smaller birds like gold and house finches, as well as chickadees, that enjoy a variety of seeds including sunflower mixed with thistle and nyjer. I considered that the bowl might be slippery for them to land on, so I added the wooden pegs for perching (a feature these kinds of birds prefer). Unseen in the picture, I also used hardened glue to create bumpy foot holds along the rim of the bowl.
My Feeder is made out of: I upcycled an old bowl, a used wine bottle, a candle holder, pegs from an old jewelry rack, some wire, and tissue paper. The wine bottle is actually just resting inside of two concentric circles of wire, so refilling the whole thing is as easy as sliding the bottle out and pouring seed back into it. The whole thing functions on gravity and can be adjusted up or down to slow or speed up the seed output.

Bird: Little bush birds, or Finches. My boyfriend and I just call them bush birds cause that's usually where you see them. Bushes. We enjoy feeding them and often get them little seed bells from Walmart to hang in the bush outside our window. This feeder would be for small seeds for smaller birds.

The straws around the egg carton is for the birds to perch. And the cup is to hold extra seed so it spills down as the birds eat it. The toothpicks were used to make sure the cup stays elevated enough to actually allow seeds to pour.
My Feeder is made out of: Toilet Paper Roll, Cardboard Box, Toothpicks, Straws, Egg Carton, McDonald's Cup & Lid, Hot Glue, Floral Wire
Preference List: B, A, C, D
