What did that small phrase mean? To admit something implied many things. It was guilt. It was decieit. It was a secret, too.
But it could also be a revelation.
What was it now?
As Alphonse waited in the hospital for Aura, his mind raced. She had asked him to take her here, but he felt in no more control of his actions then he had ever felt. He couldn’t protect his own sisters. What did that say about him? About what he was? He had never told them... and he thought he would never have to. As a knight, he had always protected from a distance. He had never shared who he was to anyone... ever.
Would he ever even have considered it if yesterday had never happened?
Alphonse did not know. All he knew was that his twin sisters had been hiding something, just as he had been. Yet what they were hiding wasn’t harmless - like he had convinced himself what he was hiding from them was - because it was tearing them apart... literally.
He remember each outburst from Imagi and every strange look from Aura - each and every strained moment he had witnessed thus far. Why hadn’t he asked them what was going on? Why hadn’t he taken action sooner?
Deep down he knew it was because he was scared. Worried. Yet he had let that worry halt his actions instead of channeling it to protect his own sisters. Like he should have.
As a brother... and as a knight of Cosmos.
She said she would give him an explanation. Perhaps he owed one too. But, as he approached Aura, what he needed to tell her was not nearly as important as what she would tell him.
He needed to know. And he needed to know now. He would not let her back out of this as much as his heart wanted none of this to be as it was.
But it was. Aura and Imagi knew about senshi. And that meant he couldn’t let himself pretend like anything would be back to the way it was.
”Aura. I need that explanation. What has been happening between you and Imagi?”

Let me know if this doesn’t work. Once again, I am sorry I dropped the ball on this essential plot point. ^_^”
