((The Previous: Part 1))

Quote:
Hav eyed his friend wearily before nodding and leading her to the other side of the pool at the base of the falls. Crossing the river that carried the water out of the canyon was a little sketchy in the dark but it wasn’t too bad. He made a mental note about trying to get a bridge up here or something just for ease. He paused in front of a seemingly blank part of the stone wall and tossed Aeaea a cheeky grin as he slid his ring into a shadowy crevice, causing the stone to slide open silently revealing a carved stone hall lighting up in front of them. “Shall we?” He gestured into the hall and stood to the side, welcoming her to the hidden part of his wonder.

Quote:
Following behind him was...difficult in heels. She was slow on the rocks and had to keep reaching out to take hold of his arm but she tried to manage. At least the skirt was staying out of her way, ish. When he finally stopped, she looked around as if he had lost his mind. Then he smiled at her and Aeaea felt worried. "What are you...Okay, now that was impressive." She admitted as the stone seemed to move itself and reveal a long hallway. Moving past him, she reached out to the entrance as if expecting the stone to still be there. "What is this?"

Quote:
Quinn, no… Hav couldn’t keep the smirk off his face, even though he knew he would likely be smacked for it, as he watched Rae… Aeaea tentatively reach out to touch the space where the stone once was. “A hidden door of course,” the laughter in his asinine answer definitely would get him a smack but it was worth it. He slipped past her and the dim lights that were on the wall brightened as soon as his boots past the threshold. It was a simple hall, the red stone carved and polished, the brass lamps the only decoration. “There is another door further in that really opens to the ‘public’ areas but this spot here we figure is for protection. A kind of flood gate just in case the water ever gets too high or something.” He shrugged and stretched out a hand to her even as he backed further into the hall, “Come on. Let me show you everything.”

Quote:
"Smart a**." Aeaea mumbled, reaching out to take his hand before finally stepping across the threshold. If she didn't need him for balance, she would have kicked him in passing. "So how relaxing could a place be that flooded?" That part scared her a bit as she looked back at the 'gate', eyeing its size. "There didn't seem to be that much water."

Quote:
Hav shrugged slightly, “Never said it did flood, just that it's to keep it from flooding. And even that is just a guess.” He led her further down the path, the further they got from the ‘outside’ door the smoother and more refined everything got. The stone became more polished, more processed. He knew that the moment they went through the second door they would be in a carpeted hall filled with art and fancy lights, a real hotel type vibe. Right now was just the transition. “Ah… um… yeah that's kind of my fault.” He sheepishly adjusted his hat as he glanced away, unable to look Aeaea straight in the face. “When I first came here the water was a lot higher and clearer. Apparently my ‘actions’ affect this place for good or bad. I, um, it nearly dried up by the time you came back to the city.” More specifically by the point that he passed out from overwork. That was what had driven his ancestor to slap him, a feeling he knew he deserved. “It’s gotten better but its still not where it was.” It was a honest representation of his life, one he didn’t particularly like noticing but knew he had to keep in mind.

Quote:
Aeaea followed behind him, taking in the magic the place seemed to hold. "It really looks like some 5 star resort on the Southern Italian Coast." She smiled, feeling like she was seeing something for the first time. "But hearing that it is connected to you and your actions, I'm surprised it is still in one piece. You aren't the most..." She looked at him and smirked "Intelligent man when it comes to taking care of yourself. I shudder to think what would have happened if you had stayed on that path. I do here the insane asylum can be comfortable."

Quote:
He triggered the second door which revealed the real majesty of the whole place. The whole 'hotel/spa' vibe. "Yeah except it's all inside rock," Hav nodded and shrugged, absently running his fingers along the highly polished stone walls. He felt the same himself when he first found the hidden space. “Honestly the art is the most intriguing. I have no clue where its from. The rooms are pretty standard hotel fair with a southwest flair.” The knight paused in front of one of the first nooks that housed a rather stunning painting of a landscape. Except it wasn’t a landscape that was from earth, it had pops of vivid color and two moons hanging in the violet sky. It might have been just a fantasy scape but considering where they were standing right now… he didn’t really think so. “Hey! I take affront to that,” Green eyes rolled even as he lightly shoulder bumped her. Aeaea had a really valid point, he wasn’t exactly the best when it came to caring for himself. “Besides it would be more like a spa kind of rest home then an insane asylum,” He stuck his tongue out at her before lightly taking her hand to tug her further down the hall. “Come on I want to show you the knight’s side.”

Quote:
"Holy..." Aeaea felt the word escape her mouth as she walked inside the door, looking around at the painting he was eyeing before she was grabbed to be lead...somewhere. "Oh come on. Half of all those ruins are in stone or caves." She offered, grinning at him as she tried to keep up in the heels. "And if I was the one sending you somewhere, that would depend on how you treated me. Or if I was going with you. If I was, you better believe it would be a spa...without internet or cell service because I think they are being glued to you."

Quote:
“Yes but this place isn’t in ruins,” He quipped back as he towed her towards the ‘center’ of the complex, or at least the public part of the complex. There Hav stopped in front of a giant and outright gorgeous mosaic of the falls outside in full daylight. The greens were vivid and bright, the blues deep and swirling, the red shining and fiery. It was a masterpiece… it was a hidden door. “First of all I feel like I have to point out that it's not my fault they keep calling me,” the knight sulked a bit before he fiddled with his ring again. This particular door was always difficult to find the trigger for him, his fingers glided across the many colors in the mosaic, looking for the indent where he could slip the ring into. “And secondly where exactly do you think you are? It’s not like I get texts up here… well not really. A senshi or another knight could reach me but not a normal person. It’s a good place to just relax but I can’t come here as often as I probably should. HA! Found it!” He crowed in delight as he located the hidden symbol and quickly triggered the door. A blank piece of the polished red stone sliding open. “Don’t really know why but the knight side of this place is completely separate from the ‘spa’ side.”

Quote:
"Who ever decorated this place, I want to meet and have them work with us." Aeaea cooed, admiring the mosaic as she stepped forward to brush her fingers over the stone. It was a true masterpiece. "If this is what this place used to look like, that is a true shame..." Her words were cut off when the door opened and he delightfully called out. Blinking, she looked at him, back at the open hole in the wall, and then back at him. "Do you really have to ask WHY they would want a separate space? I can already think of about 12 reasons and I haven't even seen it."

Quote:
“If the number of past Havasu Knights portraits is any indication then the creator of the mosaic is loooong gone. But yeah whoever did that was a real master,” he glanced over at the image again and winced once more. “Yeah, I did a some damage though it wasn’t quite that vivid when I first got here. I think the long period between me and her,” he waved absently to the area in general to indicate his ancestor, “didn’t help either.” This time he held out a hand, beckoning her over. “Yeah, okay. I see your point. If this place was full I would want a private place too.”

Quote:
"A shame. Wonder if the gift passed down the in line." Aeaea offered with a shrug, eyeing his hand before taking it. "What do you mean long time between you and her?"

Quote:
Hav led her through the door and into the knights special area, a wren of rooms and corridors. Studies, libraries, a dojo, and even it’s own personal hot springs. He hadn’t actually explored everything but what he had made him really wonder about just how much time his ancestors had on their hands. “Uh yeah. I don’t really get it but from what I’ve gathered she has been here for like a thousand years or something. I’ve been the first knight to come along in all that time. I think the lack of a living knight also affected this place. Like it went dormant or something but as time past it got weaker and weaker. That's what I always figured at least. Valerie doesn’t talk about it so it's all guesses really.” The knight shrugged and changed the topic, “So what do you want to see?”

Quote:
"Well the last time I was in a library, I ended up in this strange costume." Aeaea smirked, though she side-eyed Hav as if she still blamed him for the unknown world she was now part of. At least this place was pretty? "And I don't know anything about fighting so why not over here." She offered, walking towards a room pretty far from them. "But you said 1000 again. Hav...Quinn...what's been going on that these places stopped existing so long ago then?" Not that she believed it after all…

Quote:
“I don’t know.” He glanced away, not really paying attention to where Aeaea was going, “I can’t read the writing in the journals I’ve found. I assumed they are journals at least.” Hav admitted with a shrug only to come to a stop when they were nearly at the room Aeaea had been pulling him towards. “Uh…. I don’t think you want to go in there.” He blushed slightly and tried to direct her towards a different place, “How about this place? Its, um… I think its a-” He had to fade off because he honestly couldn’t think about what was behind the wooden door he was pointing too. All he could think of was the giant bed that was situated behind the door Aeaea had been heading towards. The giant, fluffy bed that was part of the knight’s bedroom. With her dressed like that, in a place like that, he honestly wouldn’t know where to look.

Quote:
"A foreign language? Aeaea asked before he began to pull her away from the door she had chosen. The look on her face was that of both curiosity and confusion as she gave him a few steps before deciding to be her stubborn self. "Or just random lines on a paper? I'm sure with enough time..." Aeaea offered, slipping her hand from his and returning to the chosen door to open it. "You could fit a harem in this bed..." Aeaeas voice raised as she glanced inside at the bed and then back at Hav. Then back into the room. "Guess i was right about one of the reasons for private areas."

Quote:
“More like an ancient language. It’s a strange mix of shapes and letters, almost like one of those made up languages they use on syfy shows.” His blush deepened as she opened the door and promptly made a comment about a harem. Valerie didn’t seem like the type but there was no telling about the older knights. “Yeah,” he chuckled nervously and opened another door only to sigh and briefly close his eyes. It was the bathroom, literally a room to bathe in. Oh goodie... why couldn’t he have found the kitchen or something.

Quote:
"Oh come on." Aeaea smirked, seeing his blush. It was too easy to not mess with him right then. After all, she had not completely forgiven him for making a mockery in front of the contractors back at his parents house. "You can't tell me a big bed makes you blush...unless..." Aeaea stepped into the room, crossed it and sat on the bed. "Unless you have a reason to be embarrassed by such a fluffy thing." She smirked at him. "So who is the lucky girl?"

Quote:
Hav muttered a curse before he shut his door and slunk over towards her open door as she flopped down on the bed. He stopped at the room’s threshold even as he shook his head, “no one. It’s just-“ he trailed off and absently gestured towards her outfit. “That isn’t exactly the most modest of outfits. Add in the bed and everything.” He shrugged and glanced away. He was a guy after all, even if it was just Rae.

Quote:
Aeaea looked...taken aback. Hearing him say that before even looking away made her feel a bit warm on the cheeks but she was still smiling. "Why Quinn." She began, leaning forward so slightly and pushing her shoulders forward to make her chest appear larger as she did so. "Are you saying after all this time you finally realized I am a woman?" She was chuckling ever so slightly. "Who knew it would take pink outfit from hell to make you realize I'm not just a female put on this earth to whip your a**."

Quote:
“Hey!” Hav glanced at her and quickly looked back away, that outfit really did little to hide her attributes. “I’ve always know your a girl. Your like my sister after all. That doesn’t mean I particularly like you wearing what is basically a flashy bathing suit.” Or sitting on a bed the size of a small country almost. “Besides there are quite a few number of people who pay damn good money to have a woman whip them... you just tend to do that to me for free.” He flashed her a grin briefly before he focused back on the wall. It was the safest spot to look at.

Quote:
Aeaea's smile slipped from her face. There was that word that doomed her to an eternity. Sister. He had always seen her as a sister and no matter what she did, no matter how hard she wished, he was always ready to remind her that was her place in his life. "Maybe I'll have to start charging you. One bottle of wine for every a** whipping you get." At least then she could pretend.

For now, she gazed back at the bed, grabbed one of the pillows and chunked it at him. "Sorry cowboy. I didn't get much of a say in being a moulin rouge dancer. I don't think chaps would look good on me anyway."

Quote:
“A bottle of wine is pretty cheep if you ask me,” he tried to keep a straight face even as he added. “Though it might be simpler in the long run to just buy you a vineyard or something.” His gaze snapped to her when a pillow hit him square in the chest. With a raised brow he scooped up the pillow and stepped into the room. “You would probably look better than me in them,” He snickered before he pounced, swinging the pillow at her. “If you want a pillow fight I’m game!”

Quote:
"That depends." Aeaea responded, grabbing another pillow from the bed. "Do I get my vineyard when i win?" The smile was weak but there as she held the pillow up, ready to attack. "Or just bragging rights for beating up the head cowboy.”

Quote:
“Got to win first,” Hav challenged her before he tossed his pillow at her and dived for the head of the bed. He needed to rearm himself for the ‘war’. “I don’t think your skinny little arms can take me down in just one swing! Bring it!” It was always better to revert to childish games rather than the rather off limits thoughts that showed up every so often.

Quote:
"Eek!" Aeaea called out, quickly raising her pillow just before the one he threw made contact. She had a split second between impact and the flying purple and green cowboy to realize he was making a dive bomb for the rest of them. "Oh no you don't!" She retorted, forgetting everything she had even been considering a moment ago to use the new closeness to try and pin him down with her own pillow. "You threw yours! Not my fault you aren't armed!"

Quote:
Hav laughed as he tried to fend off Aeaea’s attempts to pin him. “Going to have to try harder then that!” He scrambled to snag another pillow even as she rather effectively held him back just enough for them to be out of reach. “Anything can be weapon,” he practically crowed as he yanked his own hat off and held it in front of her face. Had it been a few years ago he might have just shoved the hat in her face but he didn’t actually want to hurt her. Although he didn’t really take into account the smell the hat might have.

Quote:
"Hey!" She called back, dropping her hands off her pillow and trying to push his head aside. "I don't need your hat hair thank you Cowboy." Aeaea laughed, making a grab for his wrist to try and use that to get her face free. "I don't want to even know where it's been. But if anything can be a weapon..." She jerked her head around, making a dive for the scarf around his neck and yanking it up over his face. "Then I can use this against you!"

Quote:
Hav laughed even as he tried to fend off Aeaea without really putting any force behind it. They might both be powered but he was still aware that she was a page and he a knight. He also had been training for the last few years but he wasn’t expecting her to shove his own bandanna over his eyes. “Oy!” He reached out to push her off of him, his fingers sinking into soft flesh. After a moment he was able to shake his head free of the green bandanna and he saw where he had grabbed… instantly blushing and letting her chest go. “Sorry about that,” he stammered slightly as he tried to scoot away.

Quote:
"Oh!" Aeaea gasped, her hands coming off the bandanna just as she felt his grab her chest. It wasn't a hard grab by any means, enough to surprise her into throwing her hands up slightly and earn a small blush when he finally did look at her. However when he let go so quickly, Aeaea felt her surprise twist into annoyance and then a sly smile. "oh are you now." She grinned, leaning over and crawling on hands a knees across the bed towards him. She knew at that angle one look had his eyes all on her chest. If she could get him to look. "You know, I say that warrants a payback move..." and she smiled, coming up next to him and smirking before she grabbed his head and kissed his cheek.

Quote:
That grin and that look and her action had Hav swallowed nervously. He scooched back further as she got closer, his eyes flicking from her very pronounced chest to her face and away. He had no idea where to look safely. His backwards movement was stopped when she slid up next to him and caught his face in her hands. “I’m sorry, I-“ He was babbling out an apology when she kissed his cheek, leaving him dumbfounded. Not sure how that was payback or what she was up too the knight went to back up a bit more only to tumble to his back when a pillow went skittering across the bed. “Um….” what did one say in moments like this anyway?

Quote:
"Um what?" Aeaea smiled, staying where she was as she watched him stumble backwards. Playfully, she shook her shoulders slightly, letting the pearls and jewels move side to side as she did. Shiny things always won. "Cat got your tongue? Or maybe something else." she crawled up next to him again, sitting up beside him and shaking her head. "What am I going to do with you."

Quote:
He couldn’t help it! She was doing it deliberately. It wasn’t his fault that his eyes were drawn to her chest making him shift his lower body slightly to find a more comfortable spot. His jacket was a bit tangled under him or he might have use that to protect himself, instead he absently snagged one of the pillows which he held over his lap. “Yeah well… was kind of expecting something else,” he answered wearily as his eyes slid from her deliberate teasing, a blush turning his face even redder. “Uh, let me up?” She wasn’t exactly holding him down but he had the sneaking suspicion she would sit on him if he tried to move right then. Something that likely wouldn’t end well depending on her ‘seat’ if she chose that option right then. He was a guy after all.

Quote:
Her eyes made it clear she knew just where the pillow was getting placed. It was too easy to not walk through the door he was opening. So she kicked it open even wider. "I would be I think you might already be beating me there." A cocky, knowing smile crossed her face as she gave him a bit of a head tilt. "Not that I'm complaining. After all..." Aeaea leaned back down, her head going near his ear as she whispered "It's nice to know I might be wanted every now and then..." She turned her head quickly and nipped at his ear lobe.

Quote:
Hav narrowed his eyes at her smile, not trusting it one damn bit. She was up to something, something he likely would regret later. He leaned ever so slightly away from her as she leaned down only to jump slightly at her comment, startling even more at the n** to his ear. “The hell?” He had no idea how to react to that. His hand absently clutching at the pillow on his lap, holding it securely over his lap. He was right, he really was regretting this.

Quote:
His words surprised her. Aeaea pulled back, looking down at his face and seeing the surprise in it. His tone and tense body did not escape her eyes as she took a long, deep breath. "You are either blind, ignorant, or I am the biggest idiot here. Which isn't saying much since there is only two of us." Rolling back, she slid away from his form, making a move to get off the bed only to stop a moment and look back at him. Her hand slipped out, grabbing the pillow he held and she yanked on it.

Quote:
He didn’t get it. He had no idea what was going on but what he did understand was that he hurt her feelings. Somehow. But he sat up instantly when Aeaea started to shift across the bed away from him. “Wait,” he reached out to her but didn’t touch her. “Look it’s probably just this place. I mean I literally brought you to another world. You are not an idiot. I am-“ His explanation was cut off when she yanked at his protective pillow. He tugged back but the old fabric, while it could handle a bit of rough housing couldn’t take a tug of war, ripped. Releasing a veritable blizzard of white downy feathers everywhere. “********,” he sat there covered in feathers, the pillow laying limply on his legs, and the still obvious, though not quite so prominent, bodily reaction visible in his pants.

Quote:
Her grey eyes made a complete show of it as they moved from his face and down his body to stop where a grey bulge sat behind what used to be a pillow. Feathers flew around them and she lifted a hand to wave one out of her face in annoyance before looking to meet his eyes once more. "Take me home." Aeaea spoke cooly, almost coldly as she turned her gaze from him and slid off the over sized bed. Her pride, her ego, her heart. All of it stung as she felt her feet hit the floor. She wanted to scream, to call him names, to...to cry. The later was what was winning but she refused, flat out refused to let her see those tears. Years she had hoped that maybe, just maybe he had the same feelings for her..."Now." She snapped the words, turning her back to him as she willed her body to not break down, not yet. Hav...Quinn...had just made her realize that the biggest idiot in the room was indeed her. And now all she wanted to do was lick her wounds for awhile over a bottle of very over prized wine...that he paid for.
