Cheomseongdae was standing at the center of the roof of one of the tallest buildings in the city. It was the tallest in the area it was in, certainly, and she had had to FORCE herself to come up here, battling her fear of heights the whole way, just so she could get herself above the main portion of the city lights. She was standing in the center so that she could not see the drop off, for the moment... Instead, she was rewarding herself with some star gazing.

Sure, the stars were not as visible here as they were outside of the city, but this far up, it made it a bit better then when she was down at street level, even by her house, which was in a neighborhood that was nice but not as bright as downtown. She sighed as she gazed up, wondering if it was time to go back to her wonder. She really needed to start trying to figure out what to do with it, how to work on fixing it up.

How to record things without them crumbling into bits of dust. All of that.

She was not sure if she was going tonight, but she was sure that the stars were calling her name. She needed to get out of the city again, soon, so that she could just have some time to herself, time to see the skies with as little light interference as possible. She could not wait for summer, really, so she and her boyfriend could go camping, find a spot away from everyone, and just gaze at the stars.

Sinistra felt an aura not too far off from her, hesitating for a second. She could tell it was not Chaos, at least, and that it was not a Senshi like her. So a knight, though how powerful she was still trying to figure out. She probably should have mastered this by now, as a Super Senshi, but she was so focused on other things that it was a skill she was neglecting.

This whole 'planetary travel' thing was really calling most of her attention.

After a talk with a very supportive person who told her how wonderful visiting places like planets and wonders was, and a couple of trips to other people's 'homes', she was almost ready to visit hers. There was just this edge of anxiety that always got in the way when she was trying to do something new. A creature of habit, she supposed, that was resistant to risk or change.

It took her a while to climb up to the aura, realizing a little too late into the journey that this was a very high roof and the fire escape was a little tricky to navigate. She did manage to reach the peak, though, and spotted the knight that was looking up at the stars.

Suddenly feeling like she was intruding on something personal and peaceful, she blushed and debated hopping back down. Carefully. And maybe not all in one leap.

"I... uhm... I'm sorry..." she eeped out, thinking her aura gave her away more than her breaking the silence with words did, though they did seem very loud in her ears compared to the quiet night. And knight.

Cheom had felt the presences of people moving around, but none had come towards her at all, so she had been mostly on auto-sensing mode, to be sure she was not taken by surprise by anyone, at all. As such, she had noticed when an unknown Order feeling moved towards her. It was more powerful than she was used to sensing, though it reminded her of Nyx... She guessed it was probably a senshi of some nature, but she could not tell much more. She really did need to meet more people of Order, if only to get an idea of what the different power levels felt like.

When the person came close enough that it was clear she was going to have company, Cheom shifted just a little so that she could see what was approaching out of the corner of her eye. When a woman of somewhere around her age range, probably a little younger, came up and over the roof's edge, she was going to say something... But the other woman beat her to it.

The comment surprised her, and she turned her head to the other. "For what? It's a free country, and I definitely do not own this roof. You're more than welcome to join me. It is one of the few good spots to gaze at the stars within the city... Though out there, at my Wonder, is better."

She paused, then realized she was sort of rambling. "Anyways, I am Cheomseongdae, Page of Cosmos. It's nice to meet you...?"

Sinistra looked a little flushed, but it was unlikely it was due to the climb itself. She was a Super, after all, and getting up one roof top was not the hardest thing in the world for her now. It was weird to think, as she was always bad at sports in school. Still, she supposed it was a little cheaty because she did have magical powers aiding her abilities.

In any case, she was blushing because she was shy. Not tired.

Her ears did perk a bit, and her down cast eyes lifted almost to meet the knight's, when she heard mention of her Wonder. That was the same as planetary travel for a senshi, in her basic understanding. Some place tied to them, that they could visit and even see memories of the past. All fascinating, terrifying stuff. Overwhelming, if she lingered on the infinite possibilities too long.

"Cheom.. se... oh... Cosmos? I've never met a knight of that before, but I suppose I spend most of my time with an Earth one. He's very nice, of course, but... Cosmos, that sounds fascinating. What sort of place is your wonder? If... if you don't mind me asking. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm just so curious about homeworlds, and I... uhm."

She forced herself to stop talking, blushing again and returning her gaze to the tips of her shoes and the rooftop beneath.

She laughed at the way the other stumbled over her name... Not a mocking laugh, not at all. Just a rueful laugh of 'this happens all the time.' "Cheomseongdae. Call me Cheom. It's easier on EVERYONE, trust me. I haven't met many other knights, myself, actually. It's been a little odd. I've met more Nega, Mauvians and Senshi then fellow knights. I keep having people offer to introduce me to them, and it never seems to come up."

The girl's reaction to her mention of her Wonder seemed interesting, though, and she tilted her head, wondering about that. She listened to the rest of her question, and smiled brightly. "It's an ancient, IMMENSE observatory of the stars. It's in... pretty unique condition, I'd say? It looks fine, like everyone just wandered off the other day... But touch the wrong thing and it goes POOF. I'm trying to figure out how to preserve stuff. Metal things seem to have fared the best, but even so, it can be risky. I'm just glad the elevator is working or I'd never got to the top... It's straight up and smooth on the outside, and higher then I can jump."

She paused, looking at her, then added "What's your name? You never said." She leaned her head down some, trying to get her to look Cheom in the eyes. "And... Um. If you're really interested in them, you could always come along?"

"Cheom," Sinistra looked relieved, smiling brightly. That was much easier to remember, and did not come with the worry of mispronouncing even if she thought she had it right. At least, she would have to try a lot harder to mess it up.

She tilted her head, trying to think. Did she know more senshi or knights? It felt pretty even, though she trained with a knight and a negaverse general that was a half youma but a good guy.

Life was complicated sometimes.

"That sounds amazing. I'd be so worried about hurting the place, though, if it's so sensitive and easily damaged. I wonder if my homeworld will be like that... I'll be even more paranoid than normal. Not that I've been yet, so I guess I'm just imagining all these possibilities just to scare myself..."

She sighed.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, my name is Sinistra, Senshi of Brooms! That was rude of me, I just started questioning you immediately." She did look up a bit, smiling sheepishly when she realized the other was trying to catch her gaze. She was staring at the floor a bit too intently, she supposed. "C...come along? Oh. I might break something..."

That bright smile was nice to see... Cheom could tell the other girl was nervous, so that made her feel better about their interactions. She was not totally scaring the other girl, at least.

"I do worry about it, some... I found out by accidentally dusting a cushion on my first visit. I've decided NOT to touch anything made of paper, wood, or cloth... The metals seem to be fine, not rusted or anything. I can't tell if there was some really awesome coating on them or... if they're made of some kind of metals we don't have on Earth that are oxidation resistant but strong enough to hold their forms for work."

She offered her hand to shake. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Sinistra. I love that all the Senshi are named for stars or planets or the like... I'm uh... I love the stars, and space." She controlled the urge to give away too much civ life details... She was still learning not to do that. "And don't worry. Just remember to avoid the organic material stuff. I've only actually explored the first floor and the very top. We could see what's on another floor together, if you want?"

Sinistra shook her head, looking baffled. It must be terrifying, being surrounded by ancient, curious things but unable to touch any of them for fear of losing them forever. As a scholarly sort of girl, it hurt her very core to imagine wanting to learn more but being unable to because of the risk involved.

Or maybe she was just being a little too paranoid about it, now that she'd gotten the idea in her head.

"Oh, you do?" she seized the other girl's hand eagerly, shaking it with more confidence than might have been expected out of her. But she did like other people who were curious about things, like she was, and hearing that Cheom loved the stars made her attention pique. "They are beautiful and strange, aren't they? You wouldn't think there were so many things with names out there in space, but there are a lot of Senshi I've never heard of... it's amazing. But the same is true of Knights, and your Wonders. All these ancient, timeless things... it makes me feel like we all have a lot more history than we ever knew about."

She blushed a bit, knowing she sort of opened the flood gates a bit there and trying to reign it in.

"If you don't mind taking me, that sounds amazing. I'll do my best not to hurt anything, I promise."

"Oh, very much so... It's my passion, you might say. It makes the fact that my Wonder is an Observatory all the more... wonderful, really." She was surprised by the confidence in the handshake, and also interested. The other woman seemed to be such a self contradiction... Nervous as anything, shy and yet confident in herself at the strangest moments. It was fascinating, and also a little confusing. Cheom sometimes had trouble figuring out how to handle people who were so difficult to pin down.

Not that she was going to complain, or try to avoid the other, it just meant she would be working harder inside to predict what might be coming, because... well, she never really knew, did she?

"And I mean... Yeah. I think, to me, it's more amazing that so many named things in space seem to have names that match what... they were once called, in the time when our... previous selves or ancestors or whatever they were... lived. Especially the Wonders, since some of them seem to match named places here on earth. Mine is a Korean word, and I am PRETTY sure Korean did not exist that many millennia ago!" It was actually quite odd, really, when she thought about it. Especially when they seemed to reflect each other.

"It is definitely interesting, and I wish we had more details into the history of it all, since I doubt even those who get the Past Life Memories people have talked to me about get a total and full picture of it all." She wished she had gotten memories, but so far, nothing... And no guiding Ancestor spirit, which someone had mentioned was the other option.

At the acceptance of her offer, though, Cheom beamed, and held out her hand, taking the other woman's again. "Hold on tight..." And she did the Thing she did to... get them there.

As always, she found it slightly disorienting, so when they arrived, she sort of stumbled, but recovered quickly and gestured at a large tower. Very large. "Welcome to Cheomseongdae, ancient Observatory of the stars."

Sinistra looked a little lost, but her eyes were bright and eager to learn. When it came to 'adventures', she was really only brave for one when it involved learning something new. She was more distracted by the fact that she was going to see new, yet ancient, things, rather than the idea that she would be traveling magically to another place.

If she stopped to think about that too much, she would definitely not go.

Because how could that possibly be safe?

"O-oh," Sinistra eeped, reaching out her hand hesitantly before sheepishly taking Cheom's. Her touch was very light, as if nervous she would either hurt the other, or contract something serious. It was not a real concern, of course, she just had a constantly timid way of doing things that she was sure would confuse others, though she never meant offense by it.

Feeling strange after the sudden jump, Sinistra found herself gripping Cheom's hand might tighter than initially once they arrived. She did not let go as she adjusted her gaze and stared up at the massive tower in awe. Her mouth dropped open slightly, and she blinked at it, never seeing anything quite like it before.

"That... that's so beautiful..."

Cheom smiled a little at the nervousness the other girl was showing... She could not blame her, really. She had been just as nervous, when she had been taken to Gevaudan's wonder that first time. She still envied the Senshi, and the fact that they were Awakened by Cats, who would then give them the basic run down on how the ******** this worked and what was going on... She really needed to focus on finding a way to make that better. But she also had her Wonder to focus on, to make stronger, to figure out how to make usable, livable, touchable again.

She gave Sinistra's hand a small squeeze, then gently let go, because it felt too much like cheating to hold her hand for very long, when she had someone she loved very much. To bring her here was one thing, but after, there was... an odd feeling, especially since the other was a pretty thing.

"Yeah, isn't it? And the view of the stars from down here is lovely, but even better at the top... I can show you that, but if we want to explore a different level, I figure we can start with that?" She gave Sinistra a bright, and encouraging, smile. "Come on, the entrance is this way." She led the other girl to the front door, and opened it. Sometimes she wondered about why it was not locked, why it had no lock functions that she could figure out... But then she shrugged it off, because it was not like someone else had much chance of coming here to steal anything.

Stepping inside, she felt a sensation of 'welcome home' or maybe just 'here is home', something she had not noticed on previous times. Was she get more comfortable, more attached to the place the more she visited it? Probably, and it WAS somewhere she could love, very much, with it's deep attachment to the stars, and her love of them.

Sinistra blushed and instinctively drew her hand up once it was let glow, her cheeks burning pink as she held her hand to her chest. It was a common gesture for her, though at this moment it was because she had been touched. Usually it was just because she was feeling bashful, though the two were mostly the same feeling.

If only being around other people were not so difficult for her... what sort of person got so embarrassed at something as simple as a friendly hand hold? Particularly because it was to bring her across time and space to somewhere she had never even imagined before.

Humans sometimes found it necessary to touch and interact. Yet somehow, she failed to learn how to deal with it like everyone else. One day, maybe, she hoped to get a little better at it.

Or risk her face just always staying red, instead of its normal pale.

"O-okay, if you're sure. I really want to see it: I promise I won't ruin anything." She fully intended to walk as if she were confined to a much smaller space than she really was, and thus avoid any chance of touching anything that might break or turn to dust.

Sinistra's eyes were busy trying to take in everything at once, as they entered the massive building. She let out an awestruck gasp and tried to contain her excitement. All she really wanted to do, though, was run straight up the stairs and find the top of the observatory. What could they see from there?! It had to be incredible.

Cheom blinked at the blush, and the hand draw, eyes going concerned. Was Sinistra really just shy, or had someone hurt her? Some of the motions she made reminded Cheom of her own reactions to things that scared her, which was all caused by the many traumas of her childhood.

She wanted to ask, because the other young lady seemed sweet, but so... shy? Scared? She was not sure, and she did not want to upset the other lady, but she DID want to try to help her.

"Are... you ok?" She asked, in a concerned and caring tone. "I did not hurt or upset you, did I?" She barely controlled the urge to reach back and touch her back, where her scars where, a response she often found herself making when someone accidentally triggered thoughts of her past for her.

Sinistra's reaction to the inside of the tower, however, had Cheom's smile returning, bright and happy. She looked around at the first floor, the way it was mostly one huge room, with a small row of what she assumed were offices along one side of the wall... She had not yet gone inside.

"It's pretty amazing, isn't it? I wish I dared try to read some of the papers still scattered around on the desks, but after the Cushion Incident, I'm afraid to touch most of the papers." She headed towards the back of the room, where a small metal platform with controls was. "This is the elevator. It works, still, amazingly. Which is nice, going up all the stairs would get exhausting, and I was used to doing six flights back at the apartment I lived at for nearly two years. If you want, we can go up top, or explore one of the other levels. Like I said, I haven't explored anything but this main room, and the top level, where the telescope is."

"Oh, I'm okay! I'm sorry. I'm just... I"m just a little overwhelmed. I... I'm sorry," she blushed deeper, staring hard at the floor for a long moment and working to gather herself. She could get a little worked up when she stayed inside her own head too long, and her anxiety had a way of running away with the rest of her brain.

She needed to reign it in, so it behaved itself and allowed her to act almost normal. Ish.

"I don't blame you for being afraid of touching anything! I wonder if there's a way to seal it before you touch it, so you can read some of these things. Maybe another senshi has a power that might help... that might be a good way to further your research into this place! Or... well. Maybe looking into how they preserve old documents. I might go to the library once we're back and read up on it myself!"

She beamed, always down for a new topic to research, and if she could be helpful in some way by doing a lot of book reading, she certainly was not going to complain about it. Anyway, it seemed that visiting Wonders and planets that were not her own was a hell of a lot easier for her than working up the courage to go to her own.

Maybe because, despite her awkwardness, she did not want to be alone.

"I'd love to see the telescope!" she said brightly, marveling at the elevator and wondering how it could possibly work.

Cheom tilted her head, studying the other young woman for a moment, then reached over, gently, to pat her shoulder. "Don't apologize. It's ok. If you are uncomfortable, or nervous, it's ok to tell me. I'm not gonna judge you or attack. It's sometimes hard to deal with the unknown, isn't it?"

She had spent years, terrified of it to some degree, because what if it had been worse then home?

"That would be nice! I would love to find something like that. My friend Arthur, a Mauvian, has also suggested there might be some Mauvians who's tech could help me... But he wasn't sure. I have so much to learn about historical preservation, really, and it's... REALLY a whole different field from my normal life's focus, which makes it hard to have time to look into it all, sometimes. Especially since people in my life might be wondering why I needed such outré to me life information, you know?"

"Ok! Sounds good. Come on!" She hopped onto the platform, and waited for Sinistra to join her. Once she had, Cheom pressed the button for the top. As usual, it went up, though the groaning sounds were ever present... Never enough to be scary, just enough to remind them that this object was old and had been untouched for millennia.
