You find yourself sucked into the bottle and in the Sea.

Your feet land on a solid wooden surface. It's a tall ship, to be exact. Seems like you're a captain now.

It's bright. The air is salty. There's a great breeze.

The disembodied voice speaks to you:

"I hope you're not afraid of water...There's an enemy vessel out there you need to destroy. There's a golden lock on it. Sink the ship carrying it, and you pass this trial."

gaia_crown WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: THE MECHANICS

Quote:
gaia_star From here:

  • Your character can not be in multiple threads at once. Thus, when moving your character from thread to thread after completing objectives, please tag the top of your posts with [ (character name) is ENTERING ] when going into a thread, and tag the bottom of your posts with [ (character name) is EXITING ] when leaving any thread so that people know!
  • If you're interacting with another player, common courtesy is to give them 24 hours from when you posted to respond. If the player does not reply to you in 24 hours, please feel free to move on! This isn't to be rude, but to be fair to everyone to let them experience as much as the event as possible and to not hold anyone up
  • Mauvians! If you have a human form unlocked, you are free to use it!

gaia_star Battling

  • Regular battling is OFF in this thread!
  • Instead, your HP is the HP of your ship, and your attack dice are your ship's canons

    Your ship HP
    HP: 60 / 60
    Dice: 2d12s with a -6 modifier (so you roll a 6,11, the total is 17, -6 = 11 DMG total)

  • You're free to attack other player's ships!
  • Please don't be mean and rude and gang up on another player, unless it's discussed before hand for suffering reasons. Nyx or myself will step in otherwise
  • If at any point your HP reaches 0, your ship sinks and you drown so go [ HERE ]

gaia_crown WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: THE TRIAL

Quote:
gaia_star GOAL: Sink the Enemy Vessel!

  • You're a ship captain now!
  • It seems that the ship is manned by a silent and invisible crew...lucky you! You just get to shout orders and steer
  • Each character ship has its own unique enemy ship to take down. Players can either spawn in on their own ship or climb aboard a partner's to share the trial and HP bar
  • If you're doing this trial with a partner, you and your partner can alternate attacking!
  • Keep track of your ship HP and your enemy ship's HP in the bottom of your post
  • The enemy ship is sunk once the HP reaches 0
  • If any point YOUR HP reaches 0, you go [ HERE ]

gaia_star Stats

  • This is the enemy ship's stats

    Enemy ship HP
    HP: 40 / 40
Attack: Does 5 DMG auto attack every time you strike it

gaia_star BUT FIRST!

  • Before you set sail to conquer, you need to roll 1d6 to see how you're starting your maiden voyage into the Bottle Seas:

  • Note: If you're doing this trial with a partner or two, only ONE of you needs to roll the d6! This is for the condition of your one ship that you are all sharing

  • 1: Everything is right as rain! You're successfully cruising the seas!

  • 2: Oh no! Somehow you are suffering from a lack of vitamin C and you get scurvy! You feel weak, so every time you attack the enemy ship, you lose an additional -3 HP on top of the auto attack from the enemy. Scurvy goes away when you complete the trial or if your HP goes to 0

  • 3: Everything is right as rain! You're successfully cruising the seas!

  • 4: Right when you set sail...your ship strikes an iceberg! Wow, how did that get there? As your ship tragically breaks into two pieces and sinks, you try to grab onto a floating piece of wood, but it's taken up by one of your invisible crew mates. There's no room for you and you drown, so go [ HERE ]

  • 5: Everything is right as rain! You're successfully cruising the seas!

  • 6: Everything is awesome! Your invisible crew is in a good mood and singing sea shanties! It's a real party ship. Add +5 to your HP (new total is 65 / 65)

gaia_star THE END RESULT

  • Upon successful sinking of the enemy vessel, you win! Completion of this trial also grants you a Super HP potion to add to your inventory! It restores 25 HP. You can either use it now, or hold onto it for later!
  • You're free to stay and cruise the seas and mingle...or attack! If you want to leave, thinking about the Central Hub teleports you off the ship and returns you there!

Well, she was hoping she could avoid that awful sucking feeling but alas. It happened again to enter another bottle. The corrupt's heels thudded on solid wood, and Still raised her free hand to shield her eyes from the suddenly blinding sun. Oh. Their platform moved, slightly, and it only took a moment longer before she realized they were on a ship. The voice spoke to them again, and she found herself amazed by the requests being asked of them.

So...captain a ship to destroy a ship? This felt like something out of a movie...but well. If this realm was providing the tools to try and succeed, then there was no choice but to try!

First, though---

The corrupt turned to the Page, and smirked. "So, girlfriend material, hm?" She echoed from their previous conversation, and took one of Chauvet's hands and placed it on the waist of her black bodice. "This corset is made out of mistress material."

[Chauvet Page is ENTERING]

Sun. Seagulls. Salt air.

Chauvet hit the deck and staggered, feeling a little whiplash from the sudden change of scenery. "Man, we really just did that--oh god, floor is moving," she murmured to herself, only vaguely inclining her head towards the sky to hear their instructions. Destroy the ship. Get the thing. Win the day. It all sounded simple enough.

Except Chauvet didn't know squat about driving boats, or firing cannons, or any of that yee haw pirate stuff. Lucky for her, she wasn't the only one to land.

She looked over at Stillwaterite and opened her mouth to say something but then Still was grabbing her hand and leading it to places and suddenly her words ran dry and her brain turned to mush. Chauvet's hands splayed across the open plane of black, feeling the grooves of the bodice and parting her lips. She was dead. She had to be dead, and was now in sexy hell with a corrupt senshi playing footsie with her feelings, and deep down she knew she was completely okay with it, so long as Still didn't stop.

"I--uh--" She started, trying to compose herself, and then she paused when an idea struck her, a coy glimmer sparking to life in her grapefruit pink eyes.

"Aye-aye, cap'n," she responded with a wink, squeezing the sides of her stomach before she stepped away so she could man one of the cannons. "Just tell me starboard or port, Mistress."

[ Corrupt Eternal Stillwaterite ]

She was cute in that energetic and endearing way. She reminded her of Katie, actually...and she was really cute when it was clear that the corrupt was having an effect on her. There was no missing the glimmer in her eyes, and a brow rose as the Page suddenly moved off to man some canons after giving her a squeeze.

Like she said...she appreciated a go getter! This was a fortuitous grab on her part. She couldn't help but smirk a bit as she was indeed called Mistress, and scanned the horizon. So they needed to sink an enemy ship---

"Ah---starboard! There it is!" She called, and next thing she knew, the ships sails came loose and set into place. The wind caught, and the ship was propelling forward. Not only that, but some of the other canons of the ship were being readied by...ghosts? Well. She wasn't going to complain. Anything went with magic, after all.

"Say---" She called out to the Page. "What's your name, hm? Unless you want me to give you a nickname..." The corrupt trailed off for a moment, tapping her bottom lip thoughtfully.

"A pet name?"

[Lieutenant Strengite is Entering]

First was the mist, then the whole gene shtick and landing in a bottle that was obviously bigger on the inside then the out, and some bloody disembodied voice that challenged them to four 'quests' with their lives on the line. Rather then waste any real time the annoyed lieutenant almost immediately headed towards the 'challenge' bottles. She only took the time to study them before selecting the one that smelled of the sea, the others just seemed like they would be a pain in the a**. At least on the water she could enjoy the beach.

Thats what she thought but the reality was much worse. Instead of the beach on some idyllic tropical island she was on some crappy boat and being told that she needed to sink another boat in order to win.

Pissed the curvy, pale haired woman growled out a few choice words that pretty much boiled down to, 'lets get this over with'. With no real idea how to sail, let alone on an empty boat, she just shouted. "After that one," and pointed at the only other ships out there on the water. One of the three were bound to be the 'bad guy' or what ever it was actually called.

Damn it, this sea spray was going to ruin her hair!

[ Chauvet Page ]

Ah---starboard! There it is!

Chauvet didn't hesitate--she got her hands on a cannon and turned it, leveling it against the ship Still pointed out. She spun on her heels to look up at Still with a wild glimmer to her eye and a sailor's laugh in her throat.

"I'm Chauvet!" She called out, over the chorus of ghost shanty that acted as the heartbeat of the ship beneath them. "But you can call me whatever you want as long as you--"

The rest of the sentence was lost to the sudden gunpowder thundercrack of the cannon beside her, shredding through enemy sails and hull like they were equally paper-thin. Her eyes became saucers as she looked out to sea, imagining invisible enemy crew members trying to set out fires she caused.

It was a shame naval battle wasn't a bigger part of modern day life. This was kind of fun.

[ Corrupt Eternal Stillwaterite ]

Chauvet. That was an interesting name. Nice, and definitely interesting. Knights had really neat names, honestly. Beringia. Chauvet...

Brows lifted into bangs as the Page was saying something, but the loud bang of her canon thundered out the rest of it. Still's attention immediately snapped to the canon ball that was launched. Eyes widened a tad as the canon Chauvet fired ended up landing an utterly devastating blow to the enemy ship. The corrupt let out an appreciative whistle.

The shot was followed up by another canon manned by one of the ghost crew, and while it struck, it was no where near the level of the Page's.

The Eternal turned back to look at Chauvet, and she rested her elbows on the banister in front of her. Her arms crossed on the wooden surface and she leaned beside the ship's wheel. She couldn't help but grin at the other woman from her Captain's spot.

"How about I call you Dream Boat?" She purred.

Lieutenant Strengite

It took her surprisingly less time to catch up to her own enemy ship then she thought, the other dueling boats weren't too far away. The closer she got the better her view of the two running one of the other ships. A knight and a corrupt senshi... odd bedfellows actually. One was on Strengite’s side, sort of, the other not so much but that little rivalry didn’t matter in the over all scheme of things right now.

All that mattered was taking down her ‘evil’ ship, the other two were working on dealing with their own opponent. Now it was her turn to get her own shots in and sink her own enemy ship. With a wave to the other ‘captain’ Strengite gave orders to what ever was controlling her boat to angle away from the others since she didn't want to be caught in their crossfire and towards her opponent.

Once in place she shouted, “fire the cannons!” At which point her ships cannons did just that, they just did it badly. Apparently Strengite either sucked at her timing, aiming, or piloting. Not that it really mattered since she still did some damage... even if she took return fire as well.

[ Chauvet Page ]

"Sounds pretty good from where I'm standing," Chauvet hummed, looking much like the cat that caught the canary. She leaned back, intending to stretch on the railing next to the smoking cannon beside her, but instead she stumbled and hip-checked it, just as it fired. The shot went wide, and Chauvet grimaced, dusting off her dress. It didn't stop the enemy ship from firing on them, smaller pieces of buckshot that nicked the wood and sails.

"Let's just...pretend that didn't happen," she laughed sheepishly, rubbing at one arm.

Lieutenant Strengite

“Fire!” The lieutenant ordered her invisible crew to fire off the canons once more, barely sighing as the cannon balls barely did any damage on her enemy ship. She really needed better aim or a better crew.

Her opponent and her were mostly just swapping slaps at this point. She hit them, they hit her. Neither really getting in a good strike. “Come on you ghostly bastards! Sink the bugger so I can get the hell out of this place. Don’t make me toss you all over board.” She berated her non-existent crew as her ship worked at repositioning itself for its next attack.

[Allegra Marchesi is ENTERING]
Allegra stumbled as she finally finished running and came through the bottle's entrance... Onto the deck of a... Bloody BOAT? Hadn't she had ENOUGH boats tonight? Apparently the universe Did Not Agree, because now she was piloting a goddamn boat, and there were a lot of OTHER goddamn boats around, and she... Oh ********, she had to fight one of the goddamn boats. This was a nightmare, one which had her reduced to swearing, at least in her head, and this was a state of affairs of which her Mother Would Not Approve.

If she ever found out, which she would Not. That was something, at least, Allegra could be sure of.

She looked around, and realized her boat came pre-stocked with a crew, even if she could not see them... One that seemed to be very happy, she could hear the sounds of song all around her. Added to that, her boat seemed to be in VERY good shape. It was, if the pun could be excused, Ship Shape, even.

She took a deep breath and took the wheel, calling out "Eoin? Did you make it here too?"

Roll Result
6: Everything is awesome! Your invisible crew is in a good mood and singing sea shanties! It's a real party ship. Add +5 to your HP (new total is 65 / 65)
