You find yourself sucked into the bottle and in the Catacombs.
It's dark. The air is thick and musty. Yes, there are skeletons and bodies in various stages of decomposition around if you're curious. Seems like they might be people who had gotten trapped here too, but didn't make it out...
The disembodied voice speaks to you:
"Just how curious are you? Enough to riffle through the dead? You're looking for a golden bone. Find it, and you pass this trial."

Quote: gaia_star From here: Your character can not be in multiple threads at once. If you're interacting with another player, common courtesy is to give them 24 hours from when you posted to respond. If the player does not reply to you in 24 hours, please feel free to move on! This isn't to be rude, but to be fair to everyone to let them experience as much as the event as possible and to not hold anyone up Mauvians! If you have a human form unlocked, you are free to use it!
gaia_star Battling Yeah, you know it. You're free to attack anyone in any thread. gaia_crown WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: THE TRIAL
Quote: gaia_star GOAL: Find the Golden Bone! Upon your arrival you find a lantern nearby! Pick it up and take it with you as your explore. Whew... Roll 1d20 until you find the golden bone. Respond to the dice prompts accordingly, fill in your posts, keep track of your HP, and then keep rolling! The golden bone can be found multiple times! One person completing this trial doesn't mean it's finished over all. Feel free to play your character still on the hunt even if someone else has rolled a 20 already If any point your HP reaches 0, you go [ HERE ]
gaia_star THE PROMPTS You need to roll 1d20. Respond accordingly:
1: Huzzah! You found the golden bone! It was a sparkling golden femur bone located on the third shelf...you had to nudge some other bones aside as you climbed to get it, but you got it!
2: Exploring, you come across a wall of stacked human bones. You get excited for a moment, but your search does not turn up a golden bone
3: You turn a corner into a room, and you are pummeled by the smell of decomposing flesh. It smells incredibly recent and that is alarming. You lose - 5 HP
4: While examining some of the tombs, something rattles behind you. Looking back, there's nothing there, but when you continue to search, the rattling continues
5: While exploring the Catacombs, your lantern flickers out for a moment. You're in pitch darkness. Something touches the back of your neck. Your lantern, thankfully, flickers back on. One of the skeletons that was on the shelf next to you has it's head suddenly turned in your direction, where it didn't before...
6: Moving down a hall, you're suddenly blind sided by a small avalanche of bones. They cause you to lose your footing, and then you land on them. Ouch! You lose - 10 HP
7: Continuing your search, you hear whispers up ahead. Thinking it might be some friendly-ish faces, you check it out---only there's no one there...except for two skeletons propped at a table, looking like they're having a tea party
8: While lifting some stone tomb lids, because hey, that golden bone could be anywhere, you accidentally drop one and it lands on your fingers. Ouch! You lose - 5 HP
9: While moving through the halls, you enter a wide room, and at the center, is an incredibly large, lovely and ornate candle chandelier---and oh, it's made entirely out of human bones
10: While walking down a corridor---the floor suddenly gives way underneath you! You fall to the next floor below. You lose -15 HP
11: You turn a corner, and you stumble across a partially decomposed leg. Shining your lantern on it reveals the body of a young woman, and the partial decomposing aside, it corpse seems...semi-recent. Better hope that's not you next
12: Walking along, your lantern shines on some scratched writing on the wall. It reads: Should have never touched that bottle. I'm trapped. How is one person supposed to complete all these trials? Yikes. Good thing you wound up here with so many people, right?
13: Exploring the Catacombs, you walk by a large stone coffin propped against the wall. It rattles. You stop to check it---and then it falls on you. The coffin crushes you and you die, ending up with you going [ HERE ]
14: You come across a large wall of urns. Without warning, one of them slips off the wall and shatters at your feet, sending dust flying around you. You lose - 5 HP
15: You're looking and looking and looking, but all you see is dead people
16: Yikes. How deep do these Catacombs go? You don't want to know. While descending some stairs, you slip, and it stings! You lose - 5 HP
17: You're walking down a hall, and a bit ahead, a skull falls from a shelf and rolls across your path. It's a bit ominous...
18: You're feeling daring. After all, what if the golden bone is in a coffin? You pry one open---and an explosion of dust rocks you. Wow. I think you just inhaled a dead person. That kind of sucks...you lose -10 HP
19: Upon examining a wall of resting places, all you see are piles of bones, and what looks like chips of tiaras and brooches in the mix
20: Huzzah! You found the golden bone! It was a sparkling golden femur bone located on the third shelf...you had to nudge some other bones aside as you climbed to get it, but you got it!
gaia_star THE END RESULT Upon successful finding of the golden bone, you win! Completion of this trial also grants you a Super HP potion to add to your inventory! It restores 25 HP. You can either use it now, or hold onto it for later! You're free to stay and explore or crawl into one of the crypts and take a nap, mingle...or attack! If you want to leave, thinking about the Central Hub teleports you out of the Catacombs and returns you there!

[ Skoll ENTERING ] [ Inv: 1 Health Potion ]
She hated the feeling of being sucked into the bottle, already. Skoll could not see herself doing this that much, because if she had to, she might puke. She let out a breath of air, trying to calm her stomach from ejecting her dinner and looked around. A crypt. She’d found herself in a crypt. Not creepy at all, universe. Not creepy at all. She flaired her nose and coughed. Musty and dank down here wasn’t it?
Yes Skoll, duh. It’s a crypt. There are dead bodies here. Of course it smells like decay and stale air. She rolled her eyes at herself, taking a step forward.
A not so omnious voice echoed through the hall and she froze. O..oh...kay then. A golden bone. Got it. The faster she did this, the better. Skoll picked up her pace, and hoped she could just spot the bone and not… have to rifle through decaying bodies. Death didn’t scare her, but she had no desire to touch dead bodies. Nope, none. That was horror movie s**t and--
CRASH
An avalanche of bones barreled into her from the right and she tumbled to the ground. They dug into her skin and joints and she grunted in pain. For the love of…
Skoll limped a little as she got up and continued on. Horror movie indeed.

[ Skoll ] [ Using! 1 Health Potion ]
She’d managed to avoid any more accidents for the last several minutes, even taking a moment to chug the potion she’d found. Surprisingly it actually helped. At least this whole place wasn’t just completely intent on killing them.
For now.
The lantern in her hands flickered out, leaving her in totally darkness. She froze, senses on high alert. Light as a feather, something touched the back of her neck and she shouted in pure fear. Skoll whipped around as the lantern flared back to life.
Nothing was there. Everything was as it should have been.
Except for the skull looking in her direction on the wall.
She swallowed and hurried on her way.

[ Skoll ]
Skoll moved even more cautiously than before. This place was in fact possessed, she was sure of it now. It wasn’t just a weird place she’d been sucked into because the universe hated her; it was, in fact, possessed and trying to kill her with fear. Skoll wasn’t a fearful person usually. If anything, she was too brave and reckless, and never hesitated in situations. This place though, this place had her heckles on the rise. It smelled all wrong, it felt all wrong, even for a crypt. She wanted to bare her teeth and claw her way through everything to get out.
She really needed to find this bone and get out.
Maybe she was going to have to actually start rifling through the dead.
Skoll fought back the gag reflex in her chest at this thought and turned to a large stone coffin propped against the wall next to her. It was kind of odd, to see a coffin propped up on its end. The lid rattled softly and she stepped closure, frowning.
SLAM
The lid fell forward and crushed the amazonian woman beneath it’s weight.

[Ella Barnett is ENTERING]
Ella was starting to feel a bit like she'd been run through the spin cycle on these Inception-style bottles, but down and down she went, until her feet landed softly on the grimy, moldy floor next to a lantern. Looking around at all the darkness and grime, she stared hard at the rusted handle before she wrapped her palm with the sleeve of her hoodie, grabbing it with a fistful of cloth separating her from touching anything. Still, the trial seemed easy enough. Defile some graves. Look for the shiny bone.
Man, Ella hated fetch quests.
"Miyazaki called, he wants his Dark Souls aesthetic back..." She murmured to no one in particular, which was just about when the lantern flickered and died. She froze, the hairs on the back of her neck instantly standing up, but lucky for her, something was there to smooth them back down for her. Unlucky her, actually. Ella choked, or she would have shrieked.
She swung, intending to whack whatever monster with her dead lantern, but in that moment it flickered back to life instead, casting light over a particular skeleton in the back corner with its gaze leveled at her. Ella blinked, pretty sure that none of them had been looking at her before.
Before that skeleton could get any other creepy ideas, she clutched the lantern handle and skittered away to the next room.

"Oh, jackpot," Ella mused, approaching a stack of bones. This was going to be cake, all she had to do was shine her lantern and look for the sheen of the special item, just waiting to be picked up...
...And...nothing. She sighed, rubbing at her eyes, and then she continued on.

"Wow, big mood," Ella responded, shining her lantern over what appeared to be...an entire hallway of corpses. None of them shined, though, which was a bit of a disappointment, so she pursed her lips and continued on, with nothing to keep her company but her thoughts.
She wondered if Reid was a boxers or briefs guy. How could you tell? She made a mental note to google it later, if she survived.

"...and that's why assassin mid mains are garbage and should feel bad for their life choices," Ella murmured to herself, keeping her mind busy by thinking of the next great hot take she would release whenever she bothered to stream. Not that she'd had time for streaming much lately, between school and work and her strange new extra-curriculars, but she supposed spelunking around in a magical catacombs for an item was a more worldly experience than just pretending to do it in a video game.
In either case, it appeared someone in the catacombs was, in fact, an assassin main, and her lantern stuttered out again. "Aw, c'mon--" she started, only to freeze up again as something brushed against her. When the light returned, she gave the creeper skeleton a hard look, pointing from her eyes to their empty sockets.
"You better watch it, dude," she said, weak bravado covering the shiver in her voice, and then she walked backwards from the cheeky touch-skeleton until it was out of her line of sight.

"Okay but how many people can you stuff in a singular spooky basement?" She asked blithely to a corpse, who seemed to have no opinion on the matter. Ella huffed--Reid would have had the sense to be shocked and offended, at least.

Oh hey, this pile of bones had some shiny things in it! Ella started to wade her way through the detritus, but stopped short when she realized the shine was simply gold and silver trinkets.
Silver and gold can buy many energy drinks, Ella considered. But then she'd be touching dead people, and people were gross. She left the broken down jewelry for someone a little more opportunistic.

More bones, more brooches. Ella made a half-hearted sweep of the lantern, making sure nothing looked importantly shiny, and then she turned back to her own internal conversation.
"Look, I'm not saying it's communism, but it is kind of a redistribution of wealth if you think of energy as a limited resource..."
