Magic Ability: Runic Magic -- Inscribed/Tattooed
                      (Adept)
While most magics are cast through the use of channeling the magical energies through your own body or a magical item, sometimes with the use of chants to help strengthen the flow, Runic magic uses something a little different. For the medium of channel, magical circles are used, and the method of strengthening are drawn runes on said magical circles. With most Runic magics, a mage will draw out a general magic circle of varying level, that stands as the base of their spell and what they channel the magical energies through. This circles level and specificity depends on the runes drawn into it. The more specific and higher level the runes, the more powerful the spell. To actually cast a spell, they can either draw in the center the specific runes needed to cast their intended spell, or if the runes are already weaved into the magical circle itself, they need only some sort of trigger. Some trigger examples are stepping into the circle, throwing in some sort of magical components, or even a chant like classical magics.

Doerin employs two specific methods of casting her runic magics. The first is a little more traditional where she has magical circles inscribed on some sort of medium. For her medium of choice, she has an array of six differently inscribed daggers. To cast a spell, she mus first place the daggers in a hexagonal pattern where the specific dagger placement leads to which spell she is going to cast. This still requires some trigger, which Doerin employs various forms of. But there is another more advanced means of casting that Doerin likes to employ. Instead of the usual inscription of magical circles on some sort of external medium, she has gone to the lengths of creating magical tattoos along her arms to facilitate as the conduit through her own body, much like classical magics. The difference being, instead of needing to draw runes into a specific surface, she can use anything, even including the air, her own body, and another's body (willing or otherwise). This allows for a slightly quicker casting than most Runic magics employ. Doerin does still know some more traditional runic magics with drawn out magical circles on a larger scale, but her fighting style usually employs these two methods.

                      Affinity: Dark/Water -- Debuff/Illusion
                      (Adept/Novice)
As for specific natural affinities that Doerin has come to have, Dark and Water have surfaced. Much like many of her demonic ancestors, Dark is not much of a surprise, but the Water affinity is a little out of the ordinary. Not even she knows where the affinity originates from, but she utilizes it non the less.

This leads into Doerin's magical repertoire, which is comprised of mostly Illusion and Debuffing spells. She has followed this path because of the nature of her work, moving silently and undetected in order to best shadow her charge, striking quickly and efficiently by first quietly bringing down her targets strengths and heightening their weaknesses to more easily finish the job. Her aspirations don't stop there as she has been delving into a Wind affinity under the direction of Reshwyn. She thinks it would be the best to round out a her abilities.

                      Innate Ability: Familiar Pact/Shadow Walk
                      (Adept/Adept)
Doerin's own abilities as a demon tie greatly to his charge. Upon choosing Reshwyn, Doerin entered a Familiar Pact with her, tying their lives together on quite a fundamental level. This includes their very life force itself: if Reshwyn were to die, so would Doerin; their minds are linked: they can communicate words across long distances, or even the simplest of feelings; and some level of command with Reshwyn as the master. This pact can be severed, but it involves a long, and powerful ritual which dwarfs the original ritual to create the pact.

Tied greatly to both her demonic nature and her pact with Reshwin, Doerin has the ability to Shadow Walk. Tied to his pact, Doerin can step into Reshwyn's own shadow and stay within for a much greater amount of time than normal. This also isn't simply an illusion that Doerin employs, but as per the pact and their fundamental link, Doerin can become one with Reshwin's shadow. This makes it much harder to separate her from the shadow without consent, but it still can be done. When searching for Doerin, simple scry will find not but one soul, Reshwyn's. It takes more powerful magic and greater scrutiny to distinguish the second soul buried within. For all other shadows, Doerin's ability is a bit more akin to illusion magics, but of a more potent variety. This means that it is a bit easier to retch her from the shadows in which she is hiding, but it is still a bit difficult. Also where one would employ seeing through illusions, it will work on Doerin's usual Shadow Walking, but not when she is melded with Reshwyn's shadow.

                      Trained Ability: Scent/Magic Aura Tracking
                      (Adept/Adept)
Doerin has trained herself over the years in the art of long distance tracking. Her years of running the woods as a fox has greatly heightened her instinctual affinity to this profession, as well as from her demonic nature itself. While employing many traditional tracking techniques, there are two specific non traditional techniques Doerin has learned. First is by scent. After spending so many years as a fox, Doerin has learned to employ scent tracking over long distances much like that of a fox searching through the snow for their prey. She has grown past using it only in Fox form, through it is still quite stronger in Fox form. Second is by magical aura. Even the faintest or suppressed auras leave a residual trace here and there, and Doerin pulls from his demonic blood to sense this aura and follow it toward where ever his prey may be hiding. This can even be somewhat employed in combat almost like a blind sense, but still needs to be better honed.

                      Magic Item: Fox Pelt
Imbuned with ancient magics, this pelt is more of a curse than a boon. The magic's were placed on it by an old witch from a time long forgotten, and when warn, the user it changed into the form of a simple fox. Normally this will leave the user even in the mind of a fox, forgetting their own self. The only way to break this curse is to be reminded of oneself and want to return to what you were once before. An ancient legend goes along with this pelt:

𝓕𝓸𝓻 𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓼𝓮 𝓷𝓪𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓽𝔂 𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓭𝓻𝓮𝓷 𝔀𝓱𝓸 𝓽𝓱𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓲𝓻 𝓹𝓪𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓼 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓻𝓾𝓷𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓪𝔀𝓪𝔂,
𝓣𝓱𝓸𝓼𝓮 𝔀𝓱𝓸 𝓭𝓸 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓯𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓷𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓻𝓮𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓷.
𝓡𝓾𝓷𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓸 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓦𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓫𝓮𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓪𝓴𝓮𝓷 𝓫𝔂 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓦𝓲𝓽𝓬𝓱 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓛𝓸𝓼𝓽,
𝓣𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓼𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓶𝓮𝓭 𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓸 𝓪 𝓯𝓸𝔁 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓵𝓮𝓯𝓽 𝓽𝓸 𝓻𝓾𝓷,
𝓝𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓽𝓸 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝓸𝓯 𝓱𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓲𝓷.
𝓢𝓸 𝓷𝓮𝔁𝓽 𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝔀𝓪𝓷𝓽 𝓽𝓸 𝓻𝓾𝓷 𝓪𝔀𝓪𝔂,
𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓴 𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓼𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝔀𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝓵𝓸𝓼𝓮.

Doerin did eventually break the curse with the help of Reshwyn, and since then has mastered using the Fox Pelt to go back and forth between fox and human form. There is always still a chance of losing herself once more, but because of this, she uses a small bracelet with the Crest of Glaiderre emblazoned on it. This is there to remind her of who she is and who she serves.

Since mastering the use of the pelt, Doerin has been learning to enhance her fox form with her own abilities. At present, she has been able to enhance her speed and senses while in fox form. As well as bring over her scent tracking to her human form.

                      Fighting Style: Martial fists/Daggers
                      (Novice/Adept)
Doerin typically doesn't like using weapons when she can get up close and personal with her target instead. This means less things to hide, and quicker, more effective magic that is harder to dodge. Thus Doerin has come to develop more of a martial style fighting with her fists, a bit of grappling, and close range magics. Her style is still fairly unrefined, but she kind of likes it that way as it leads to unpredictability.

One of the few weapons Doerin will use are her set of 6 daggers, all custom made, about 8in from tip to butt. They are usually kept on a tight belt somewhere hidden like thighs or back. Each one is inscribed with a different magic circle and rune which Doerin employs for her magics. Granted she can fight normally with them as well, and is fairly competent in knife fighting as well as throwing. If she misses you, there was probably a very good reason.

                    Personality |
Doerin's life is just about completely focused around Reshwyn. After being a fox for so long and pretty much just about having the personality of a fox, she now has new meaning to her life. She she either is focused on protecting Reshwyn, or focused on bettering herself to protect Reshwyn, or taking a nap in fox form someplace cozy. Eating and running around is nice too. Otherwise, Doerin is a fairly straight forward person, speaks her mind and does what needs to be done for Reshwyn, no matter the implications. Of course, unless they mean separating her and her charge, like expulsion for example.

                    History |
The life of a fox is simple. You sleep, you search, you eat, you try not to be eaten, you sleep again. When given the life of a fox, it is like a dream. Time extends on into eternity, there is no days or months or years, it is just a cycle of night and day, season to season. There was once a nameless demon who was tricked into this fate, or at least that is what he would say. Memories before running through the snow are distant and few, no sense of how much time was lost to the tundra, or how much of his very person was buried beneath the snow the day he was cursed.

But he never thought he would be free one day. Well... as a fox he didnt really think at all, but in hindsight, he probably would have. No, it was the day that a princess came wandering the forest that changed this cursed demons fate. It wasn't long before this procession came through, ornate carriage and guards on horseback making quite the disturbance in the otherwise serene snowscape, that the small fox had barely made it out of an altercation with a larger predator. Broken and bleeding, the fox was quickly scooped into the compassion of the princess, and rushed back to the palace. Of course, normally a fox was not quite an adequate pet for a princess to keep in the palace, but with her pleading and the great excuse of practicing her healing on it, she was able to get it inside. Granted, the princess still was not very competent in her healing magics, so as the palace healers guided her, they too helped a little. Soon the little fox was happily bouncing around the princess's room.

But there was something else to this small fox, something behind its eyes that the princess noticed. And thus came the first moment where the demon would be saved by a warm, but worried compassion like a mother calling out to a lost child who ran away from home. Something about her voice, the way she called out, reminded the demon of what was left behind so so long ago. And so, as the princess held the fox there, the curse finally lifted. Of course, it had been so long since the demon had been in a human form, and really didn't remember what it could have been. So the form that the small fox shifted to was more akin to the method of reversal: a mother calling to her child. Slowly the white fur gave way to a young child, fairly androgynous but clearly male, hair just shy of white with its slight blue tint. Though despite appearances, this demon actually was quite intelligent, with some power to match. Granted that power and mind hadn't been used for their intended purposes for a long time, so there were some cobwebs, but clearing them would be quick.

First an important matter was to be taken care of. As the cursed fox pelt fell, the demon took up a hand of the princess, pledging loyalty and protecting in the form of a pact that would bind their very souls. It was quickly agreed upon, with almost no hesitation. The princess didn't know any better, and thankfully she was right to trust this demon. Granted with this pact came a trust that was deeper than any man made treaty. Everything would be shared. The first secret, and most important, was introducing a young beggar with the same face. But that was actually the princess? The demon had just made a pact with the beggar in royal clothes? At first everything was confusing, but as things sorted out, the demon didn't care. He was still bound, to who he now knew was the beggar, and swore to protect. Granted the beggar asked for that protection to extend to the real princess as well, which was quickly agreed upon.

Their lives moving forward were quite full of adventures, many of which included finding out just how much a blessing in disguise that cursed fox pelt was. After quite a bit of convincing, even the children were able to practice using it to run free of their worldly problems. It took quite some time for the three to get use to moving between fox and human form, thankfully the princess took to it quickly, and the beggar was aided by the packed shared with the demon. But even that wouldn't ready them for the coming storm being the loss of the real princess and the rise of the new.

The demon had been on a scouting journey, using the fox form to travel to the edges of the Glaiderre's lands. They had been having some strange reports that were best investigated by the demon. But the destination was never reached as a searing pain of loss shot through the small fox body. The journey back to the palace felt longer than all those years lost as a fox, and once finally back in familiar arms came the second moment the demon was brought back with motherly calls. Worry and pain wracked the small body of white, thinking about what if it was the beggar who had been killed and how the demon wasn't there to protect as was his charge. But feelings soothed as the beggars compassion washed over the demon. And thus, as intentions shifted to that of an ever watchful guardian instead of just being there when needed, the demon promised that he would never leave the beggars side again, that he would protect from all that would harm, and he would continue to grow so that words would never fall short. In that moment, as the beggar took up the mantel of princess and name of Reshwyn Glaiderre, she bestowed upon the demon the name the beggar no longer needed, that of Doerin Owendale.

In the days to come, Doerin's position changed to that of lady in waiting. Doing so meant looking the part and following in Reshwyn's footsteps of becoming a girl. Doerin didn't really mind at all, saying that whatever necessary would be done. Thankfully this made it quite easy for Doerin to follow Reshwyn when she made the choice to attend Queen Cordelia's Acadamy, leading into the next chapter in both of their lives.
