Even if the face of the truth the blue-haired male could not admit defeat. He continued to speak as if he had everything under his control, continued to act as if he could charm his way from their grasp. Izara had encountered many like him before. She hated them all in kind. This one, however, this one especially drew her disdain. She would be glad to see him go to their employer. If anyone deserved the harsh reality of Astela, it was the man currently in her presence.
The woman sighed gratefully. Their target was silenced at last. Part of her wished he might choke on the cloth holding back his vile tongue; however, the practical part of her knew that would bode ill for them if it were to become the case. They would simply have to increase their pace and deliver their package as soon as possible. Then she would no longer have to be subjected to his idiocy.
Fortunately, her teammates were well-versed in concealment and transport. In the time it would take to brew tea, they had loaded the man into the covered wheelbarrow and made their way to the docks. Izara trailed behind them, keeping a few paces back. Her job now was making certain no one followed or thought anything to be suspicious. She breathed in relief when they arrived at the port without incident. Now it was a simple matter of boarding the correct ship and loading their cargo. As fate would have it, it was the easiest task of the day.
Their designated ship was easy enough to spot. Inconspicuous to those who were naive of their work yet obvious to those of her ilk. The poison coursing through the blue-haired male’s system had kept him subdued throughout the journey, as it would continue to do for another hour or so. This provided them the advantage when it came to removing Damien from the wheelbarrow and securing him in the ship’s hold. “Now then,” Izara tugged the cloth from his mouth while her accomplices busied themselves with chaining his limbs to the floor. “That was not so terrible, was it?”

☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯ Ciaran hummed lightly as he sauntered across the docks. There was a lightness in his step, a jaunty little spring. He was thoroughly enjoying his current line of work. To see all the individuals that were being gathered together for the war was intoxicating. His joy at the thought of what they would see and encounter, the pain and struggles they were bound to fall into, was simply lovely. He almost wished to join them...almost. He was not foolish, however. Ciaran knew full well what awaited these mages unfortunate enough to be targeted by Astela and Shioya. It is why he took every precaution not to reveal his own capabilities. There were too many plans at risk of unraveling should he also be discovered. Fortunately, he had quite a few safeguards in place. Not least of which was his so-called magical item currently resting in his grip- the staff that would brand each of the mages with their respective insignias, binding them to the locations they would fight at.
A delighted smirk flitted across his features. I do hope they are all prepared for what is to come. Perhaps, if any survived and managed to return, he would track them down and offer them a place with him. But...that was a thought for another time. Now was the moment to focus on the current task. Boarding the Astelan ship, Ciaran sidled past the crew members, an ease and confidence in his stride. His pace soon brought him to his second prison hold of the day. “My, my...you have been busy,” he remarked to no one in particular. Unlike the solitary figure in the Shioya hold, Astela managed to procure three. The closest was a young girl with light blue hair, a stuffed animal held tightly against her. Next was a muscular blonde woman who seemed fit for a brawl. Lastly, a dark-haired male lay semi-conscious at the far end. His leer, though undoubtedly subdued by his drugged state, emanated hatred and loathing. Interesting. Ciaran took a step over the threshold but moved no further; instead, he leaned against the doorframe and waited. He waited to see if more might arrive, or if any of the three before him might stir and speak. Whichever it was did not matter. He would wait and he would watch. His yellow gaze never wavering as he studied them just as he had studied the other.

elfi, dam, cia xxx ship docks xxx unsure
Slowly, Amarissa's eyes began to open. Slightly, than halfway, eventually fluttering open fully. Her vision was a bit blurry at first, trying to rub at it when she realized something weird. She couldn't move her hands, not even a bit. Why? She looked down, still her gaze a bit hazy, her hands were all tied up for some reason. With..other people? Wait..was that Elfi?? And the other..the boy she met not that long ago! Wait that's right, she was looking for shiny objects on a biggg boat..was she actually not allowed to search the boat?? Or maybe she touched something or searched a place she wasn't allowed in? Did she get arrested for that? So many questions were unraveling in her head, yet not a single answer or explanation she could possibly think of. Why was her guildy friend and the boy she met earlier here?? She didn't remember being with them, she didn't remember much of anything that occurred before getting here. All she could recall was looking for shiny objects and tripping a couple times..what happened than? It was all a blur to her, and her head was hurting super bad. Where did this headache come from?? "Elfi?? Kat's friend??" Amarissa called out to them, hoping that would be enough to get them to open their eyes. Oh god did her head ache..she only wanted to put her hand to cover the ache, but wasn't able to.
She also noticed a male nearby, almost watching them. Maybe she could get the answers she desired through him..if he would be okay with that. "Um..sir..? Are you the owner of the boat? My friend said she had permission from the owner..which is..you? I'm sorry for trespassing, I promise it won't happen again! Scouts honor!" She asked, just kind of assuming the person owned the boat she had been on earlier. They looked to be pretty similar to her, or maybe she was just really out of it? Oh wait, she was with Mari! She hoped she didn't find herself in any trouble too. Though didn't seem like she was around here. There was the question of why there were others being..arrested she assumed. It was a large boat, so probably they were on it, she just never ran into them. Maybe now that she apologized, she and the others could be released, as long as they weren't too mad..

Fading in and out, the dark haired male partly remembered being picked up, and then the swaying feeling of going down uneven steps. He felt the rag stuffed in his mouth get removed, the familiar voice of the woman filled his ears. " F**k you, b***h." Damien mustered to growl out. Damien struggled against his bonds, feeling the inability to use his magic to escape " Just you wait. I'll get free and rip every tooth from you mouth just to fix that smug smirk of yours." The stone mages snarled as he fought through his drugged state. No one got away with treating him like this, he refused to be someone's tool for their own end. He had a goal to reach, he had people to break, he had history to pay back. Each moment Damien felt himself feeling more normal he would become more lively as he struggled. He would begin to thrash and roll, jerking and yanking on the chains and cuffs. He would yell in frustration and snarl at the cuffs that kept him from using his magic. Damien didn't even notice the other mages being filed into the area he was at, he didn't even pay attention to where exactly he was. The smell of the ocean or the sway of the boat never entered his mind as he became more focused on trying to get out of the binds that kept him there. The stone mage's yells became louder and angrier, his face and eyes red with rage as he violently thrashed about trying to get free but in the end it was no use. He only ended up exhausting himself. Sitting here huffing Damien sneered at the cuffs and chains. Ignoring the voice of a familiar small child, he had no time for small chat. Maybe he could bribe his way out with one of the other members of the team that dragged him here. Sharp blue eyes snapped up looking for someone he could bribe. Landing on a man leaning against the frame, a smirk came to Damien's face. " You, the one leaning against the frame. I have an offer for you if you come over here and have a chat." Damien had to remind himself to play nice for now. MagicOOC:

Izara laughed. This boy certainly did amuse her. Even bound as he was, he tossed out threats with an aggression she rarely saw in captives. “Such language,” she tisked. “I’m afraid now you’ve gone and hurt my feelings dear ‘brother.’ I guess I shall take my leave then. Good luck in your new role.” The woman snickered, waggling her fingers at him in farewell. Unless the fates bid it, she felt they would never cross paths again. Which was certainly okay with her. Despite his amusing threats, there was only so much blabbering she could take. Now he would be in the care of the vessel’s crew and shipped on his way to some distant land. Izara, meanwhile, would go about her own business. It was time she and her accomplices continued on to their next job. Without another thought to the bluenette, she spun about and made her way from the hold, passing another of the operation’s members as she did so. She spared a nod of acknowledgement to him before continuing her way up and off the ship.

Hearing the captain, Mari entered the room, doing as she was told and closing the door behind her. The captain sat behind her desk. Her look was expectant and her tone brusque. There was no room for uncertainty or hesitation with her. Mari moved to the center, just to the opposite side of the desk, and gave a nod. “Yes, Captain. We just finished loading the cargo into the hold. It’s small but secured.” She paused and waited for the captain to speak. During her time involved in this life, she had come to recognize that not every captain or leader or client wanted an exigent amount of details. Most wanted concise and to the point, others wanted an elaborate telling, and yet others didn’t want to hear a single peep as they just handed off the payment and ushered Mari and her cohorts on their way. She hadn’t known the captain long enough to tell which she would be but, judging on how she spoke, the girl imagined her explanation would suffice. While she waited, Mari found herself wondering about Amarissa and what would become of her. A feeling of trepidation pulsed through her chest, taking Mari aback. She hadn’t once thought about what would happen to the kid during their little game but now...now she was starting to feel like she’d done something wrong. It was unfamiliar and unsettling to Mari. She didn’t like it. But what could she do about it? There was no backing out now. Besides, the reward money was too enticing. Her gang was counting on it. I can’t think about it anymore, Mari shook herself internally. I’m gonna get the reward and we’re gonna enjoy the luxury. Ama will be okay… Mari didn’t believe that last part, but she kept repeating it silently to herself, trying to assuage the pang of guilt developing in her heart.

☯ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ☯ It appeared that the Astelans would have a feisty warrior on their hands. The young man the first team had brought in was a lively one to say the least, cursing at his captors and then thrashing about. Ciaran appreciated his zest. Alas, the man was exerting himself for no reason. It was a futile effort to try and break the magic hindering chains. They were made strong enough to resist even the most powerful of men. And while the bluenette appeared strong, he did not possess enough strength to prove himself against the chains.
Ciaran watched him flail a few seconds more before shifting his gaze elsewhere. Ah, so the little one is awake. He smiled. His yellow eyes gleamed in the dim light of the hold as he looked down at the small form. I see. So that is how Marietta’s team managed to obtain her that easily. A simple but effective lie. The mage applauded the girl’s ingenuity. “I am sorry, my dear, but I am not the owner of the boat. I am just a passenger on it. But I am afraid that you have committed a grave infraction. Your friend must have mistaken the boat for another which she had permission to board.” He shrugged. “Or maybe she simply tricked you for her own reasons. It is hard to say.” His lips curved into a coy smirk. “You really should be more careful.”
My, how he would have enjoyed toying with the child’s emotions. Her innocence would be fun to taunt and corrupt. He had to remind himself that now was not the time. He had to maintain his facade of being without magic. Lest he end up joining these poor souls on their voyages. No, he must restrain himself until he could amass what was needed. Once again, his eyes found the male. His piercing gaze was calculating. An offer? Interesting… The notion intrigued the white-haired man. The younger man would not realize that Ciaran would do nothing to alleviate his situation, yet there was no harm in hearing him out either. Perhaps I can utilize him in some way or fulfill his request for my own purpose. Of course, there was also the thought of recruiting the mage in the future should he return. Yes, best to see what he had in mind.
Pushing away from the door frame, he passed by the young girl, ignoring her for the time being and moving to stand in front of Damien. He tucked his hands in his pockets and cocked his head to the side. “You wish to chat with me?” It was not necessarily a question to verify that is what Damien wanted but, rather, an opening for the mage to explain his offer. An opening that would need to be taken quickly if Damien wanted to have Ciaran listen.

dam, cia xxxx ships docks xxxx nervous/sad
The boy Amarissa had met earlier seemed to be ignoring her..well, no sense in trying to talk if he didn't wish to speak. Not like she was going to force him to, that would be really selfish of her, and she simply did not have the heart to do that. That would be all forms of wrong. Well..atleast she got to talk to someone whom actually listened to her questions. She frowned as he explained he wasn't the owner..now who was she going to have to apologize to? Where was the owner..why were they not around? However, her heart nearly sank when he explained that she had committed a crime. It sounded worst than she thought! She really needed to think of something now. "No, I know in her heart she didn't mean to. I know she did it on accident. I'm just glad she's not here too." Amarissa said with a hopeful smile, but than almost immediately went back to a frown when he stated she needed to be more careful. "I didn't mean for it to happen..I'm sorry.." She spoke solemly, maybe she just needed to give this ships owner an apology gift? Maybe than they would let her off easy than? The only gift she could possibly give was her coins. She leaned her head towards the ground, attempting to spat out some coins. Weirdly enough..she couldn't get anything to come up. Did she suddenly forget how to use her magic? Did she run out? She felt so confused..wasn't it working earlier? Than..she needed a new gift idea. But it was going to be impossible getting any at this point.
Amarissa looked down at her doll as the other two were talking to one another. "What should I do, Cho? I really messed up..I know you wanted me to never find myself in trouble. I've failed you..I'm sorry." She spoke to the doll sadly, almost tearing up. She didn't even know what to do, or how this would all turn out in the end. But she just hoped for some sort of a miracle. That everything would end up okay. She would just have to look to the bright side, like her foster dad always told her to. She looked towards the sky..it traveled for miles and miles, with no end in sight. There was a bright side somewhere, and she knew in her heart, she had to find it.

㊋ ████████████████████████████████████████████████ ㊋ The others did as the leader bade without question. Needle guy snatched up the remaining sack, slinging it over his shoulder in a similar fashion to the leader, and walked with the group to the cargo hold. Once there, they moved quickly. Like the leader said, the drug would wear off soon and none of them wanted to hear the griping and yelling that would no doubt ensue. “I dun know, Boss...think he’ll actually think about it?” Needle guy snickered. From his perspective, the brat didn’t put a lot of thought into his actions. At least, not when the blonde was around. Love...it made people do stupid things. He didn’t care if he got an answer though. It was time to get their money and move on. “Good luck, brats. You’re gonna need it.” With a parting kick to Rin’s foot, the man left with the rest of his group. What he didn’t see was the faint grimace, indicating the bluenette was already starting to regain consciousness to some degree.
