So, you're here so you can learn to be a Knight, right? Queen Cordelia Academy isn't the only school that offers Knight training, and it does not force its graduates into the Knights, or even guarantee that they'll make the cut. It's the first place people think of when Knights in training come to mind though. The high school program is fairly easy to get into, as interest in becoming a knight is all one truly needs. The collegiate knight program is incredibly selective, as they are more interested in turning out knights that can be recruited immediately. They must either pass an entrance exam to prove their prowess if they transfer in, or have proven their worth through the high school level.

The Knights are a special section of Aeston's military. They are mostly elite fighters, capable either using or fighting against powerful magic. Mages particularly skilled in non-combat magic can occasionally be granted the rank of Knight if their research is useful to the government or military. There are three types of Knight: the Vanguard, the Enforcers, and the Royal Guard.

The Vanguard works with the military as field commanders, dealing with foreign threats. With no wars going on at the moment, they spend most of their time fighting hostile demons from other realms, as well as beasts and monsters that threaten the smaller towns and villages. It is not unheard of for platoons consisting entirely of Knights to take on certain threats.

The Enforcers work alongside the police, and keep the peace in cities where magical crime is common. Smaller towns and villages typically only have one or two Enforcers, but can call in more if the need arises.

The Royal Guard works directly for the Royal Family. While all Knights are equal in rank, the Royal Guard is considered the most prestigious position for a Knight. Members of noble families are typically assigned to the Royal Guard, though their ranks are kept strong by reassigning powerful Knights that have proven themselves with the Vanguard or Enforcers alongside them. They are often seen guarding the palace, but there are rumors that they are often tasked with other secret missions. Magical researchers that have attained the rank of Knight are considered part of the Royal Guard.

Each Knight carries a specially crafted Knight's Blade as a badge of office. Most are swords with simple but effective enchantments, though the Knight may request something different if they desire. Each weapon is emblazoned with the crest of the Knights somewhere on it.
