Not too far from the school known as Hillworth, once a hub of Negaverse activity and the domain of General Kings and Corrupted Queens, there is a house. However, to call it a house is a disservice. It is far too large, too ornate. A Manor would be a more apt term for it. It stands hidden in the woods, a single road leading to the estate old and broken. The path winds through tall evergreens and thick bushes of blackberries line the roadside like a natural fence as if to offer not alternative but to go forward. The manor sits tall and proud, ornate molding and architecture drawing in the unsuspecting to its old and otherworldly charm. The windows curtains are all shut, offering no glimpse to the inside nor it's residents, and the only signs of life are in the tracks of tires in the rocky earth. The estate has been there for many a year, passing from owner to owner, none staying er long. Rumors of hauntings linger about the woods; the manor holds reputation and the center for the sightings. Yet if one were to look online for a place to stay the night, inexpensive and luxurious, the estate would appear, charming in a sunny photo, hiding it's ominous presence behind a digital screen. It is run by two sisters, and they offer one of the many rooms for visitors seeking respite from the city's bright lights and loud mechanizations. The two women have rave ratings and unless you did an extensive check, you'd never know that they'd only owned the property but a scant few months. You'd only know of a quaint, possibly haunted manor that was cheap for a weekend getaway. Yet not all things are clean and crisp, not all things are without an unseen cost. In the darkness and shadows, something moves in the woods around the Hillworth manor, something cruel and vicious. It has waited long enough, and now it is time for it's calling. As Halloween nears, the sisters have joined the city for a celebration of heritage, a evening and dinning, dancing and merriment. The legacy and history of the Hillworth Manor to be on display, one of the oldest estates in Destiny City. All are welcome, all can attend. Just be sure to stay alive until the party's end. The Hillworth Manor Room List MAIN FLOOR Foyer The foyer is lavish and serves only to stun and wow those who enter the manor. With a high ceiling, crystal chandelier glittering white light, the dark wooden panels stand tall and proud, welcoming you to the home. Stairs lead to the second floor, but a simple ribbon of white marks it as off limits. On the walls, portraits of faces look down, and a few stand out with a haunting familiarity. They almost look like aristocratic versions of past... it is strange, but just coincidence. Dining room Down the hall from the foyer is the dinning hall, for room does not do it justice. The room is long and wide, the oak table one solid piece of wood, likely hand carved. Tall windows offer a spectacular view of the gardens, and each place at the table unset, and rather plates of ornate Hors d'oeuvre and other delicacies sit ready to be plundered. Wine is offered liberally by a man in a crisp black suit and says nothing other than asking which bottle you'd prefer. Entertainment room
The entertainment room is spacious as it is welcoming. A high vaulted ceiling allows voices to carry and the various couches and chairs are comfortable and inviting. A pool table along with a table set up for some modest gambling has been set up, and music plays from hidden speakers. Granted the 8ball is cracked but it still is fine to play with. A large rug covers the floor and shows little use, as if it is brand new just bought for the occasion. Kitchen The kitchen is impeccable, clean and bright and utterly premier in the state of the art appliances. The hallway leads back to the gardens, and the main door leads to the dining area. It's any chef's dream and the smell of slow roasted meats and breads fill the air. Food is waiting for later to be served and the few 'staff' hired move in and out with alarming swiftness. There is no reason to be here, as there are better areas to entertain ones self. There are a surplus of knives along the far wall and a wood stove also sits next to the more modern ovens. UPSTAIRS The Gold Room As you open the door, you feel it stick and have to force it open, a loud scrape of wood on wood echoing down the hall. The room itself is covered in a fine layer of dust, and cobwebs decorate the corners. A queen sized bed takes up most of the room, a small dresser and vanity sit unassumingly on the side, drawers closed and the trinkets atop them untouched in so long. The windows overlook the garden, where you can see nearly everything. Everything is decorated in whites and golds, and the plush carpet gives to your weight. Opulent even in it's minimal decor, you can tell the room was at one, time, important. A painting hangs covered at the foot of the bet. The Blue Room The door swings open easily, and immediately you're struck by the disarray in the room. Clothes lay scattered everywhere, and things are knocked over. A queen sized bed in unmade, and you see rips and tears in the sheets. Stains can be seen on the walls, and on the floor, in varying stages of opacity. The walls have what look like a rushed paint job on them, and the curtains are drawn shut on the window. The Green Room As you try to open the door, it refuses to budge. Forcing it open, you find that the room is neat, tidy, and picture perfect. A queen bed sits in the corner and a desk faces the window, which looks out to the front of the manor. The desk itself is newer, and the drawers are slightly open, papers shoved into them. The closet it closed, as it the bathroom. The only item that hints that it is lived is in a photo of the young black haired woman Kyrstal, with a much older, unknown woman. Locked: Attic As you enter the attic dust fills the air in grey clouds, glittering against the few paths of light. It is near empty, only cobwebs and a few items fill the space. A threadbare blood stained bed sits in a corner, no blanket or pillow to be found. A book rests beside it. There is no sign that anyone has been here in a while. Yet- under the central beam of the ceiling is a large metal hook with a short frayed rope attached to it. Directly under, faint scuff marks can be made in the wood. The darkness makes it hard to tell, but something was carved at one point into the wall facing away from the stairwell, and the lone window is blacked out with old paint. Basement The basement door is old wood, small chips and gouges making it stand out from all others in their refinery and it's lack of. It feels out of place, yet not. It has a deadbolt lock and- why would you want to go there anyway?

NPCs Currently In Play Ebony Rose A woman, no older than her early 30s but no younger than her early twenties stands in the foyer, taking coats and setting them in the mudroom as each guest enters. She's dressed in a rather shimmering white gown, translucent beads braided into her hair, it's pale gold color complimented with sky blue eyes makes you feel as if you're looking upon some model born from imagination. She wears a name tag that says: 'Hello, my name is Ebony Rose'. The one who is the polar opposite to Krsytal she is distant as she is guarded, preferring others to talk to her or at her. She tends to hover nearby Krystal and cut in when the other woman gets too wrapped up with something or involved. Known mostly for her evasive nature and avoidance of forming relationships, she's rumored to have at one time been involved with a criminal organization but, that's a rumor, given her altruistic endeavors. Krystal Rose In the entertainment room is a woman who could be the other woman's twin only- her hair is pitch black and her dress matching. Yet it too shimmers with beads and sequins. She stands by the door to the dinning room and is drinking red wine. Her smile is unsettling but she wears a name tag as well. It read 'Krystal Rose'. The other hostess. While you can approach her, she seems fairly predatory with the way she is watching people and drinking the wine. She smiles a bit too brightly, but is willing to chat with anyone.A woman who has a strange aura about her, like she's off somehow, perhaps not normal. Known for being eccentric, she is rumored to be a 'witch' of sorts and prone to vanishing from gatherings for short stints of time only to return later usually wearing something different. She's social and a bit too friendly with younger men. Patrick, the 'Butler' A young man with the name tag of 'Patrick' moves briskly between the kitchen and the dinning room, refilling drinks and plates. He's obviously working, dressed a a butler, but he offers every guest a smile, even if a bit tired.The "head" matradee, he's also the one "in charge" of well- everything. While he should be leaving the refilling of drinks and bringing food out to the other waitstaff, he's insistent on helping and keeping busy. He avoids his employers like the plague but is quick to smile and entertain guests for a breif time before returning to work. Sometimes, you catch him stealing a small nibble from a plate or two. Maria, the Head Matradee A stern woman with a non-nonsense attitude, she wears a formal classic butler's uniform, and cares deeply for her staff. She currently is haggard, and afraid, urging everyone to find a way out. When attacked by Penny, she confessed to a plan of some sort- only to die as Jeff did, a red crystal left to mark her untimely demise. ??? ,the Scandalous Maid A shy woman with a string of bad luck. She's noticeable only by the fact her uniform looks more costume than actual uniform. Jeff, the Card Dealer A flirt, he seems harmless, and he's fairly dimwitted. He carries around a tarot deck in his breast pocket.His body is currently encased in a cocoon of living red crystal which is eating him alive. He can be seen moving, terrified as the crystals begin to dig into and form in his very flesh. Taylor, the waiter ??? ??? the Raven A strange talking bird with glossy black feathers that speaks in riddles, he appears without notice and vanishes just the same. Enjoys perching on high places and mocking those who offer him disrespect. He responds well however, to those who are clever and quick of wit.

Current Prompt: Those near Jeff's body would see it happening. His body, slowly becoming encased in dark red, pulsating crystal that seemed to feed off of it's host....the now wide eyed and very much alive Jeff, who once encased, was trapped in his crystal cocoon as it ate away at his flesh. The pool table slowly becomes a morbid and grotesque altar of sacrifice as Jeff writhes in obvious pain as red crystals eats him alive.
A scream comes from the basement, and the raven's voice echos through the building.
"She wakes! She wakes! Her time to feed has come! Hurry hurry! Grab what you can else you'll never make it home again!"
Outside, a large shadow looms over the estate, eyes peering into the windows before vanishing with a clap of thunder...
EVENT UPDATE The Investigation threads have updated accordingly- For the Main Floor: Click HEREFor Upstairs: Click HERE Jeff, the Tarot Reader has become encased in living, parasitic red crystal. Maria is 'dead' as Jeff was dead. Ebony and Krystal Rose are still missing. ??? has spoken to the manor all at once. They speak of a 'waking' and 'feeding'
Current Status Effects: Quote: If your character is powered you no longer have ANY access to your abilities. Any and all of them. While normal civilians feel uneasy, powered persons have the symptoms described above. Quote: A subtle change is taking place all across the manor. Minor things are shifting changing- the air is thick, and you feel eyes on you no matter where you go. Quote: Eyes feel they are watching you, and every so often when you look out a window, you swear you see a human fumbling red shape for a moment- but as soon as you blink, it vanishes. Quote: Screams, muffled come from the basement. Things seem to become more and more decayed and dangerous.

Past Prompts Quote: The party is in full swing. Music mixes with mouths moving, the cacophony of enjoyment and pleasantries. Drink flows freely, food is savored, and company is sought. Each room has something going on in it, and you can feel the air abuzz with the contagious emotion of happiness. The rain outside begins to worsen. Quote: The rain is heavy now, and the low, distant rumblings of thunder can be heard. Quote: A crash silences the party, and sends everyone into an alert state. Lights flicker, the music skips, and a sudden unease settles over the manor. Kyrstal and Ebony both begin to make their way around to the guests, assuring them that everything is fine, the storm is supposed to pass soon, nothing to worry about. Still, they send out one of their waitstaff to go outside and check the road conditions. The crash sounded very much like a falling tree.
No one has to wait long before the young man returns. The storm in howling, winds rattling windows and making the woods nearby groan. The man says he got to the edge of the property when he saw that a large oak had fallen into the road, taking two other trees with it. The narrow road doesn't have any way to push the fallen trees out of the way, meaning no cars will be able to drive out.
"It's alright everyone, I'm sure we can call the local fire department and they'll come out to get this all sorted." Ebony smiles, leaving with Krystal in tow.
The lights flicker again before you hear another crash. Light bulbs burst, and darkness engulfs the manor.
To those who carry otherworldly powers, you find yourselves feeling a sudden, horrific detachment from said powers, a void in it's wake. Transcended individuals get a sudden and intense feeling of vertigo, coupled with nausea that refuse to abate. Royals find themselves at a gaping loss, the ever present feeling and connection to their planet silent. Generals, Eternal, Knights- all can feel something at the edge of their senses, as if now even unpowered, you can sense a strange foreign power trying to reach you but failing to make a connection before fading entirely. Pens do nothing. Rings and phones cannot connect. Summons are impossible. You feel like a part of you is missing.
You feel, after so long being connected to your powers, even if not awakened, an alien in your own skin. You feel vulnerable.
You feel human. Quote: As people gather their bearings, the staff make a startling announcement. Both the hostesses are missing. As soon as this is said, a haggard looking waiter comes to the main room, to give details. The lights for the most part have either burned out, or exploded. The electrical box can't be reset and something must have taken out the nearest cell tower, as no one has reception. Attempting to do so yourself only confirms the man's statement.
With only cellphone lights, the staff has gathered a few candles to help illuminate the main rooms. However, as time passes, they grow nervous, Ebony and Krystal not yet returning. The winds howl harder, and the booming thunder does little for everyone's nerves. One of the waitstaff, Taylor, says that they'll go outside, check for the women. However, that's when the panic begins. The front doors are locked, and no matter what anyone does, they refuse to budge. The backdoor has the same problem, and the windows refuse to open as well. The only door that opens is to the garden, but it does no good as the garden itself is sealed and the walls topped with iron spikes.
You are trapped. A rolling thunder makes the windows shake and rattle, many candles snuffed out by a mysterious gust of wind that seems to come from no where.
And then it happened.
The gurgling sound. As Jeff started to look ill, his hands began to shake, and his eyes became bloodshot. White foam at the corners of his mouth and he coughed up a strange red crystal.
"Well that's no good." A voice says from above, but, the speaker cannot be seen.
As soon as the placid declaration is made the made drops to the floor convulsing. It takes only seconds before he stills, pale, cooling- dead.
It is Maria is who breaks the silent horror. "Everyone- pair up, and find a way out. NOW." There is no order any longer. The head bulter's fear stricken face is clear- this was not planned. This was not staged. This is real.
YOU ARE TRAPPED.

Rules and Mechanics gaia_star The Manor Room List will be updated accordingly and will be updated with newly discovered details and statuses as the game is played. If a room is locked, it requires a key which must be found in a different room. gaia_star Each room has key items and events that help uncover the mysterious circumstances that are going on. Some events will prompt choices, which must be taken as soon as possible. Some events will lead to new locations or interactions. Items, even not key items, can help progress your exploration, hinder others, or be giving you an advantage when dealing with NPCs and events. gaia_star Investigating a room or item is simple, post in BOLD RED, stating what action your character is doing. gaia_star There is a limit of one action per post, and you must wait to get a response before taking another action. gaia_star Keep your eyes on this post! When the game reaches certain points, the rules and mechanics will change to reflect in game actions and events! gaia_star Please keep watch on the NPC list, as well as the current prompt list, as they will contain the last major event prompt and help guide the overall story. Things to know:Keep your character name, location and any objects in heir hold in Bold at the top of your post. this will help those wishing to interact. -Items are singular. This means if X grabs the brush, person Y cannot also grab the brush or investigate the brush without interacting with X. Please pay attention to your fellow players actions! -Your character only knows what they encounter or are told. If X gets a private interaction with an NPC, your character cannot suddenly also know that information unless otherwise stated. IC information is to be shared ICly. Nothing permanent with effect your character but it WILL decide what following events occur. Actions have consequences. While certain actions might be heavily hinted to take, taking actions that are otherwise 'non-linear' will still gain a reaction. Some good, some bad. Do not be afraid to branch out. Do not assume you know the reaction to your action. The same action might not gain the same result each time. Please do not god mode or power play the prompts. If a posts has information in it such as 'The door is locked', do not ignore it or dismiss that information. If you have an inquiry if an action or such is possible, please just ask.

As the clock strikes 8, the manor doors open, waiting, welcoming guests inside- Quote: The Event is LIVE! At this stage, please have your characters arrive and get themselves situated in one of the rooms. Please make sure to read all rules and Information before jumping in and please PM/DM me if you have questions! The first prompt change will cccur October 19th Evening, PST (expected later evening). After certain events, the event will become unacceptable to new characters, so if you plan or want to play, just post something so they can be accounted for later!
