 It's that time of year again--Halloween is fast approaching and that means you get to see what we've been cooking up! This year we've prepared some RPs and prompts that everyone will be able to participate in, so if those interest you, make sure to keep checking back here for new opportunities! More information can be found in the Ticket Opportunities list in the next post! Even if you're not interested in any of our super cool prizes, we hope a little roleplay might be enough to get everyone involved! Roleplay opportunities will only be open from now until ~6pm EST on October 28th. The raffle will be rolled after a ticket list is compiled and winners will have 72 hours to contact the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, with their preference list. Anyone who does not respond within 72 hours will forfeit their slot and new winners will be rolled. The majority of these events will be designed specifically with civilians in mind, so players with no characters, and players who only have non-human characters (such as Guardian Cats or Youma), are allowed to play a disposable. Ticket Opportunities
Tickets can only be earned through Halloween Event Roleplays or Event Prompts, so you must be active in the shop if you are interested in participating in the raffle! Each roleplay will have specific instructions, so please make sure to read the rules when you are signing up! The shop will be hosting both events/ORPs as well as putting up prompts. Links to all the events will be kept in this post, and all prompts will be listed here as well! To claim a ticket, you will need to fill out the following code and post it in this thread! Link to thread: [link to the thread you are claiming for; if you are responding to a prompt, make sure you indicate which prompt you are responding to either in this form or the thread!] Events/ORPsWhile each shop run ORP will have its own rules, a few general things are important to keep in mind! While players can include as many of their official characters as they want, you can only earn one raffle ticket per link. This means, regardless of how many characters you play, you can only earn one raffle ticket. All events will be run for civilians only, so there will be no powering up! To earn a raffle ticket, you must write at least 500 words, though if you have multiple characters this can be spread out across them. Open Events:[ORP] PerniciousaClosed Events:N/A PromptsEach Prompt may only be counted towards a raffle ticket once per player. This means that if you respond to the same prompt with multiple characters, only the first one will count for a raffle ticket. We will make a small announcement any time a new prompt is put up, so check back here regularly to see if there's anything new you are interested in writing! All prompt responses must be posted in the Mini-Event subforum and can be written as a solo, a regular, or a battle (if applicable!). These should be labelled [Halloween-S], [Halloween-R], or [Halloween-B]. If you roleplay a disposable, these will not count towards any growth requirements for them, but if you are roleplaying with someone who has a disposable, it can still count for growth for your official character. More information on disposables can be found in the next post! To receive a raffle ticket for a prompt, you must write at least five hundred words and should include the prompt either in your first post or in the code you post in this thread to claim a ticket. The roleplay does not have to be finished in order to claim a ticket, but it will need to be finished before it can be used for growth requirements. Current Prompts:Quote: You're walking home in the dark and soon hear the sound of footsteps following behind you. Every time you turn around, nothing is there. If you try to quicken your pace, the footsteps start running right along with you. No matter how you try to see behind you--if you use your phone camera or if you look in window reflections, you can't see anything...but you know it's getting closer. If you don't run fast enough, you can almost feel a hand on your arm, a breath on your neck... You need to get home, fast. If you can. Quote: You're home alone, minding your own business, when you hear the distinct sounds of doors closing and footsteps moving around the house. Upon investigation (should you choose to), you find nothing out of sorts…but the footsteps and doors continue to make noise every time you give up the search. This happens all night, and you can almost swear you see things out of the corner of your eye. It's a restless night, but come morning everything seems back to normal--except, you still have no idea what was going on. Quote: With Halloween just around the corner, television stations are constantly playing various spooky themed movies and episodes of your favorite shows. When you sit down to watch something in particular, the screen goes static. You try to change the channel but every one of them is static. If you continue to watch (or attempt to fix the television), an eerie voice comes across the speakers begging for help and that they're coming. No matter what you do or say, they only repeat the same phrases. When you turn off the television and turn it back on again, everything has turned to its regularly scheduled programming. Quote: You have a near miss that almost kills you (maybe you almost got hit by a car, the plane you were supposed to go on ended up crashing, you narrowly dodged a falling piano, etc) and you're thanking your lucky stars that you're alive...until you realize that no matter who you talk to, no one responds to you. Strangers don't hear you on the street, friends don't return texts or calls and no one answers the door when you knock. It's almost like you're a ghost….for the next twenty-four hours, you appear invisible to every other person on the planet but then suddenly, out of the blue, it's like nothing has changed and none of your friends know what you're talking about when you explain the odd phenomenon. Was it all a dream? Quote: A new temporary co-op shop called the Boo-tique has opened up for the holiday season. Folks from all around the city are selling neat odds and ends to celebrate the spooktacular parties and events to come at the end of the month. While you’re trying on one of the many costumes for sale, you leave the dressing room and find yourself engulfed in a world associated with whatever costume you put on. You can't go far--only a few feet in any direction, as if you hit an invisible wall. There is no person there, no animals, but a very vivid sight. After a few moments, you blink once and it's all gone--you've returned to the mothball-smelling, dusty dressing room you’d originally entered. The costume you’d put on has no price tag and if you approach a staff member to purchase or question it, they take it away and apologize -- it shouldn’t have been out on the floor to begin with. What… exactly happened? Quote: You're not sure where it came from but somehow you've come into the possession of a small porcelain doll. Despite the happy smile on its face, it's anything but friendly in appearance. The pigtails look suspiciously like real human hair, it smells oddly of licorice and while the flawless, porcelain skin is intact, she only has one blue eye, a gaping hole where the other eye should be. Keeping the doll in your residence overnight produces one very vivid, very real dream of being in the doll's stead, your vision only visible through the empty eye socket. As you sit on your shelf (or chair, wherever the doll was left), you are forced to watch as someone puppets your body in your stead, taking your place. None of your family or friends seem suspicious, especially since you can't seem to scream or talk... being the doll that you now are. When you wake up, the doll has found its way into your bed, only now the hole is gone, replaced with a matching, ordinary looking eye. Quote: While out and about, you manage to obtain a cute cooking pot designed to look like a witch's cauldron. It's a little eccentric but wanting to get in the spirit of things, you or a loved one obtain it and food is prepared in it, be it for a personal or social gathering. Only... anything made in this pot tastes startling of candy corn. Regardless of whether you finish your homemade treat, you find that no matter what you eat or drink, everything for the next twenty-four hours tastes exactly like candy corn. The strange thing is, this only seems to happen once. After you've given it a good scrub, it doesn't seem to have the same effect ever again. Quote: As Halloween draws near, a good number of the shops at the local mall have decided to take part in the festivities by handing out candy bars and bite-sized goodies to all of the customers who stop by. You score a fair amount of sweets while you're out and about. After you consume a handful of them, though, you discover you don't feel.. quite right. You can't put your finger on why you don't feel right but soon the side effects from your candy munching come to light. When you sweat, your perspiration is noticeably brown and smells sickeningly sweet... almost like chocolate. In fact, your natural scent has seemed to take on a more sweet approach, as if you were a walking candy bar yourself. You've got no clue which shop handed out the cursed candy but the saccharine effect on you lasts for an entire day, until the candy has made it out of your system. Quote: It’s all over the news that a dangerous convict has escaped from the state prison. Television and radios alike warm the residents to stay indoors until authorities can locate and apprehend the criminal roaming the local neighborhoods. It just so happens to fall on a terrible evening to be stuck anywhere - the weather has taken a turn for the worse and thanks to a wayward falling branch, the power has gone out. Scratching and creaking around your doors and windows keeps you on high alert…could the nefarious individual be trying to get inside your residence? Quote: You're visiting a friend or family member in the hospital and while walking down the hall, the fluorescent lights flicker, long enough for you to notice an eerie figure standing at the end of the empty hallway. Another flicker and the shadow grows closer - it's a deranged looking person, hair unkempt and eyes sunken into their sockets. A third flicker and the being is only yards away from you now, more grotesque in appearance than ever. A fourth flicker and…the lights return to normal, the hallway just as empty as it was when you originally turned to walk down it. Was it all an illusion? Maybe you're a little extra exhausted? Whatever the case may be, walking down the hallway you can't help but notice a putrid smell stinging your nostrils until you manage to turn the corner… Quote: While out and about in Destiny City, you notice a particularly strange street performer who isn't getting much attention on the corner he's stationed himself at. He's a rather peculiar looking clown, complete with cliche red nose and squeaky shoes. No matter how many balloon animals he makes or tricks he tries to play, no one seems to pay him any attention. You happen to make eye contact with him and unfortunately, it seems to excite the fellow to have finally won over someone's attention. You manage to cleverly excuse yourself from the situation but nearly everywhere you go after that point, the strange clown is following you. The more you try to ignore him or brush him aside, the angrier he seems to get - and it's a little creepy, just how menacing he looks with that bright red smile gets turned upside down. Even as you manage to make your way to you or your friend's home, you can't help but notice the familiar, disturbing honks of a bicycle horn or the squeaks of oversized shoes following you... even up onto the front porch steps. Quote: Event Prompt 1 of ??? You come home one afternoon to find a package waiting for you in the mailbox. It’s a small parcel with only the image of a smiling, friendly jack-o-lantern where a sender’s address should be. When you open the package, a porcelain pumpkin bearing the same smile as the sender’s image falls into your palm. The only other thing that you can find in the package is a small business card with the name Perniciousa inscribed in gold lettering. When you google the name, nothing comes up but you’re pretty sure you recall seeing a new store pop up with that name on the outskirts of the shopping district of Destiny City. It must be some sort of advertisement for the holiday season - neat! The store doesn't look quite open yet but hopefully it will be in time for the holiday! Anyone who makes use of this prompt is allowed to save the little porcelain pumpkin for display! Besides, who knows what secrets it may hold! Quote: Event Prompt 2 of ??? Every person who happens to have received one of the unaddressed pumpkin baubles begins to feel oddly strange. You find yourself growing more irritable and restless. You’re finding it difficult to sleep and when you do manage to sleep, your dreams are plagued with nightmares. The weird symptoms don’t fade when you power up - you’re just as irritable, if not even more, when you roam the streets as your alter ego. What's gotten into you all of a sudden? Quote: Event Prompt 3 of ??? As it grows closer to Halloween, you find your sleep to be practically non-existent. If you’re lucky, you manage to get 1-3 hours of rest at best and the nightmares grow worse, almost to the point where the memories of them haunt you during your waking hours. You can’t seem to satisfy your ever-growing hunger and any meat you manage to scarf down ends up being more raw than not. Your skin starts to itch, any scratching causes sores over your body or hair loss at your scalp. What skin hasn't been scratched is turning a sickly pale, almost green shade. Maybe you've caught some sort of virus or bug that's going around?

Disposables
If you don't have a character in the shop yet, that's okay! Players may use a quest character or a character they create on the spot to participate in event only roleplays and prompts. You can only roleplay your character in the Mini-Event subforum. When setting up a new thread, you must put an asterisk next to your character's name to indicate that they are not officially won. For example, you might write a solo based off of a prompt and it would be titled [Event Solo] Title [Name*]. If you are participating in an ORP, the rules may be different so please read each thread accordingly!
If you are a new member of the shop and do not have a character in the shop and want to respond to a prompt by writing either a solo or roleplay, please fill out the following form and put it in a spoiler in your first post! If you already have a character in the shop, you should not play a disposable unless all your characters are either unplayable or cannot participate. For example, if you have a character who is currently in the hospital and could not believably be involved in anything, you could play a temporary disposable. If you only have a full-youma and cannot justify them putting on a civilian glamour to participate or the prompts do not in any way relate to them, or if you have a Mauvian who does not have a civilian glamour, you can play a disposable instead--however, you must PM the shop mule to give us a brief explanation as well as provide the character form in your PM. We just want to make sure everything checks out, so this will be a quick approval and is just to make things easier on us!
Playing a disposable in this event does not mean they will die! You can quest for these characters at a later point in time, if you so choose! Remember, if the character has not been officially won and arted, none of your RPs will count towards their growth, but you are still eligible for prizes or RP related rewards! Playing a disposable during this event does not guarantee that you will receive your character, but it's a good opportunity to get your feet wet!

LIMITED TIME IC RP ITEMSThese items will only be obtainable in this Halloween event, and possibly other future Halloween events! While you can win these as prizes, you can also purchase them for crown tokens from now until November 10th! For more information, please see this post! Quote: Pouch of Candy Bones - Somehow or another, you stumble across a velvet, black pouch with colorful designs of skulls and bones patterned on it. Inside, you find a small collection of bone-shaped candy, sweet in both smell and taste. As you start eating, you're compelled to finish it off and once entirely consumed, the candy puts you in an ethereal state that leaves you only semi-corporeal. Not only do you look the part of a ghost (as in, you're semi-translucent) but you are able to float up to three feet above the ground. This state lasts for up to three hours and requires all of the candy to be consumed or the effect will not work. After consumed, you are left with the decorative pouch - hey, it's big enough to hold leftover Halloween candy in, at least! Ornate Glass Bottle - An antique looking bottle with a worn out, faded label on the front. Although it is peeling, you can barely make out the label's writing... which does you no good because the words are in some foreign language you can't seem to decipher. The contents inside are murky and brown but with a strange, almost tantalizing scent that wafts from the bottle when you uncork it. If you're brave enough to consume the contents, falling asleep will produce not only a deep sleep but 1-2 dreams of a very realistic scene. These scene(s) imply it's a premonition of something to come - maybe it's a death of a loved one? a heartbreak in your future? your own death? - and when you awaken, you have a dreadful feeling about it as you recollect the dream. It's up to you whether or not you believe it's part of your future... but you may want to be careful, just in case. The entire bottle must be consumed for the effect to work and after it has been finished off, you are left with the mysterious, yet oddly pretty glass bottle as a keepsake. Black Candle - An ordinary, small candle but distinctly black in color, both in wax and wick. Once lit, the flame is quick to grow from orange to black - and with the color comes an array of spooky paranormal shadows displayed across the room for anyone who notices. The longer the candle burns, the more sinister the shadows get, along with quiet, menacing whispers that reveal deep, dark secrets that you've never told anyone else. The candle burns for up to three hours or until the flame is blown out. The candle will not relight, no matter how hard you try, but you're left with the remains of the waxy trinket to keep for nostalgia... since, surely, you want to remember the sinister evening in question, right? Rusty Locket - A rusty looking locket, the charm closed together by part of the rust. When cleaned and opened, the spirit of a sad, heartbroken ghost with an equally heartbreaking story accompanies you over the course of the evening. While no one else seems to be able to see or hear this spirit but you, you are able to converse with the sad ghost or choose to ignore them. As dawn arrives, the ghost disappears. No matter how many times you try to polish the locket or open the charm, the ghost never returns. At least you have a pretty memento to carry around now. Paper Mask -This odd paper mask has no known origin - it simply showed up, one day, where you happened to find it. It doesn't seem to do anything other than make the wearer look silly if tried on while in a powered state, but when put on as a civilian, the mask attaches itself to the wearer's face and alters the owner's appearance. For twelve hours, the wearer's identity becomes that of a stranger's - you've taken on the appearance of someone no one, including yourself, recognizes. After the twelfth hour, the mask flutters to the ground, detaching itself from you - leaving you fading back to your normal, "ordinary" self. You cannot power up while you are wearing the mask, and there is no way to remove the mask prior to the twelve hours, so you may want to be careful about trying on decorations of unknown origin. After your adventure of walking in a stranger's shoes, you are left with the strange paper mask, though it seems to have lost its magic. Note: This item can only be used by civilians; it will be useless for Mauvians, Half-Youma, and Youma! Five of these items will be given away; players can choose which of their characters this will be awarded to, but these will be IC trinkets that will require participation in a shop run plot from the winning players! Winners will receive more information about these magical IC trinkets in November when we prepare to run a special plot that includes just those five characters. Characters from any powered faction are eligible to win these items, and they will be utilized in a special shop run plot with unique IC perks awarded to these five characters. If you win this prize but do not participate in the event, you forfeit all IC abilities that would be associated with it, so please only choose this option if you are willing to commit to being in a special plot that will begin within the next month! Other prizes will include Crown Tokens, Growth Items, and IC RP Items! More prizes may be added as the month progresses! Winning ProceduresAfter the tickets have been compiled into a list, rolling will begin on sometime Sunday, the 28th! This will be done publicly, in this thread, and winners will have 72 hours to send a preference list to the shop mule, The Space Cauldron. If a winner does not contact the mule by that time, the they will forfeit their slot and another winner will be rolled! Despite how many tickets you win during this event, you can only be rolled once! If you are rolled, you may give your slot to a friend only if they are not already on the winners list.
