Eye of newt and toe of frog, wool of bat and tongue of dog -- there are many different ways to make potions, using all manner of ingredients and spells. Can you prove to these witches that you're an expert potioneer? They want to see a brand new potion of your own creation! Describe to them what ingredients to use, spells to recite, and the tools needed to create your special concoction. If you do well enough, maybe some of them will go home with you to teach your their secrets!
This is a judged contest. There will be a first place winner and a second place winner. The remaining prizes will be raffled off between all contestants!

Potion of Guiding (Love)
To surely find your destined mate Left not up to the whims of fate On an epic quest you go Through torrid winds and sleeting snow
Your journey starts with a climb To the peak of mount sublime Whereupon you rest your gaze On a dove that heralds praise
With downy feathers made of white Using gentle words you must invite The dove to part with a single feather The easiest task that you must weather
From the top of mountain go To the murky depths below Down to where the Leviathan sleeps You must be quiet if your life to keep
From the dragon you must steal A golden bell with a lovely peal To silence the bell would be a sin But an evil incurred to save your skin
From the lair of mythic beast You must ride far to the East To the lake where lily pads bloom And where sirens attract their grooms
Resisting the spell you must possess A confident heart with no duress As you dive into the lake Their gold medallions your goal to take
Once this has been achieved You are none to be more aggrieved At twilight you must brew the potion And apply the balm as if a lotion

Purpose: Potions of guiding are as they sound, to guide the user to a specific fate, item, or person. The potion of guiding for love leads one to their soulmate, the person they are destined to be most compatible with and spend the rest of their days with.
Ingredients: One toenail clipping of a dragon ( 5 weeks stewed in the rancid spit of a wyrm to cure), One bat wing(plump and fresh), Two hairs from a black cat scared white, one roasted lizards tail. One Eyeball from a frog 3 days old, Effervescent water (one bottle), One sprig of sage, two drops of snake oil, one bundle of rosemary soaked a month in rose water. Recipe: Bring your cauldron to bubble, add dragon tonenail clipping, bat wing, cat hairs, lizards tail and frog eyeball to the cauldron and let bubble under the moon light of a the first full moon of summer for three hours. Slowly add sage and snake oil and lower the heat to a soothing simmer. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Pull apart and add piece by piece the rosemary bundle while speaking in a low steady tone, chant these words. “Magic coil, magic boil. Burn thy ridges and thy bridges. Fill the air and call the pair Seek the vital pleas. Let veils be lifted and guide the gifted. Speak the name you seek in threes.”
Once all the bundle is added, bring to a roaring bubble once again and cook for 20 minutes. Bottle the liquid in a clear bottle and sit in a window so the light of the four cardinal points moon and sunlight reaches the liquid for 4 days and nights without sleeping. Lest your brew go sour.
Purpose: To coat a mirror to help you find a lost some one and communicate.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup Hair of Dog (black preferred, but any color will do in a pinch) 3 cups Mist of Bog 2 tbsp Light of Star 2 tsp Dust of Mars 5 liters Gnat Blood 2 Mugs of Beer Suds Pinch of salt Recipe: In large cauldron, bring Gnat Blood and Beer Suds to a boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Slowly add in half of Mist of Bog (1 1/2 cups), stirring until smooth, set aside. In medium bowl, add Hair of Dog, Light of Star, and salt. Mix together well, and slowly add to Blood/Suds/Mist mixture. Stir well, replace on heat. Bring to boil, then turn down heat and let simmer 10 minutes, or until scent becomes unbearable. Remove from heat and add remaining Mist and Dust of Mars, stirring until mixture becomes eerie blue. Allow to cool, and serve over ice. Chef's note: If your mixture turns purple, discard. If mixture turns orange, take to next party. Purpose: Cleansing potion to rid the user of any hexes, or negative spells placed. (If orange, it'll get you drunker than a skunk. Do not give to actual skunks, they can't hold their drink, and absolutely do not pull their finger.)

Ingredients:
A tablespoon of peanut butter Many half full, or is it half empty? glasses of water.. A not screaming mandrake snake eyes -- the actual snake eyes not the GI Joe character. A fang of an asleep ulun'suti. It must have been asleep. Otherwise, the potion is totally ruined! Yranoitcid Sdrawkcab Edlo Ey Lots of patience Counting Fingers Anything that makes you scream in fear! Favourite Tea!
Recipe:
First, start with the glasses of water, when that does not work try to hold your breath. Count to 10. Have patience while counting if you screw up, swallow the water and try again. When that gets old, ground up the ulun'suti fang and the snake eyes and put them into some water. Try that but if it fails, spit it out! That sounds like a vile drink. Whomever made you drink that!? Try to read from the "Yranoitcid Sdrawkcab Edlo Ey"... Giggle when you realize that you can read it better backwards. Or was that.. forwards? Take what-have-you for screaming measures and do so to make you scream.. When your many minutes of patience wears thin, and your counting fingers are starting to tire, eat the tablespoon of peanutbutter. Perhaps now the Mandrake has woken up and is screaming now... If that is the end of it, and you've had enough.. Drink your favourite tea and try not to make a mess.
Ingredients: 3 tails of newt 1 freshly-shed snakeskin 5 drops ink 7 bundles of twigs 1 essence of wanderlust 2 scoops bravery
Recipe: Add tails of newt to empty cauldron and cover with water. Heat cauldron for 15 minutes. Stir in twigs and brew for 3 hours, stirring precisely every 10 minutes - no more and no less. Add ink drops one at a time, waiting for each to combine before adding the next. Pour in wanderlust and bravery and let the concoction bubble and brew until you start finding it hard to focus due to the daydreams. Toss snakeskin in and immediately remove from heat.
Ingredients: Tears from a newborn babe, 3 petals from the pinkest rose, water from a hot springs, bottled fog from mountains peak, and a strand of hair of deepest root.
Recipe: In the cauldron over the fire, dance and sing with the wind as I chant the saying and inflame your soul if this is your hearts desire. Be forewarned as I stir that you will get for what you ask but true happiness may now long pass. Now the cauldron simmers true as does the list I gave to you. First the fog to lift the veil stir three times and stop right there. Inhale the wind that churns ever so gently and pluck from head the rooted strand, yes that'll do nicely. Stir again counter-clockwise and drop the tears ever so slightly. Trickle now the water of springs and sprinkle the petals as the veil does thin. Blow twice and stir again clockwise now at the end. Sip it once sip it twice and your wish will pass this night.
Purpose: For eternal life you seek not knowing what you'll truly meet. If you are looking for beauty fair, you must look elsewhere. This will give you life you seek but that is all you get for beauty does coincide with time. You will still wrinkle and appear to age but never die and never fade. Beauty comes at a steeper price but one may only choose once and must decide between the two. Eternal youth is a falsehood but eternal life can be had and this what you now have.

Ingredients: 1 Cauldron A black taper candle Five short white pillar Candles Soil, enough to hold the black candle (from where the first equine came to it's final rest) Sea Salt A vial of blood from the one you love The feather from an albino Pegasus Water, collected from the dew of 10 morning ferns from the west side of a mountain.
Recipe:
On a night of a blood moon find a clearing with the best view of the sky.
Place the white candles into points, as if making a star a light them.
Say a prayer to Nyx. ""Goddess Nyx, please protect me from all harm! I will gladly be in your light great Goddess; please protect me from all dangers from North to South, East to West. Please protect me. So let it be.""
Light the cauldron and place the dirt in the center of it and light the candle within it.
Pour in the water and wait till the water boils and add the vial of blood and sprinkle in the salt and put out the fire and wait for it to cool.
Dip the feather into the mixture and let it dry. Once dry wait for the black candle to completely burn out and blow out the white candles.
Hang the feather in branch of a white oak and leave it there.
Purpose: To protect the one you love against any harm.
Ingredients: The Heart of an aged artichoke Two potato's eyes Skin of a red herring A vial of tears A shed serpent fang Two candles- one white, one pink Optional item- used for final garnish: One dried rose
Recipe: Set aside a cauldron to heat over open flames. When the cauldron is the desired temperature (a drop of frog oil will whistle and fizz on contact) begin by adding two cups of clear swamp water.
Add herring skin, serpent fang, and potato eyes to the water and stir clockwise ten times. Once stirred, light first the Pink candle, and allow one drop of wax to enter the cauldron, repeat with White candle.
When the potion has thickened and begun to turn brown, slice and add in half of the artichoke heart.
Let sit until potion turns as dark as mud, and lower the flame. Before it cools too far, add the tears one drop at a time, stirring counter-clockwise after each one, until the vial is emptied. The potion should become green. Once the color is achieved, add the final artichoke heart and return to the fire. Let is boil and simmer until just enough remains to fill one small bowl. Optional: garnish with the rose.
Purpose: When applied to the face, this produces a very relaxing, rejuvenating mud mask sure to leave hair and skin glossy and ready to face a long, hard day. if desired, add the rose garnish for a touch of style while the mask does its work.

Ingredients: 1 Vial 1 pinch of ground clove 1/4 tablespoon of activated charcoal 1/3 teaspoon of Atropa belladonna 1/2 petal of foxglove 2 cups of virgin tears (this could take some time... just a heads up!)
Recipe: Combine the virgin tears with the grounded clove. Make sure the tears are boiled! (important) Take this mixture off the fire before adding the petal and plant! You don't want to boil them too much. Extract the petal and plant. Stir counter-clockwise and then spit into the potion to activate. Once the bubbling begins you have about 5 seconds to add in the activated charcoal. Pour into vial and- VOILA! The potion is a go.... try not to drink too much because if you do..well you needn't worry about anything ever again. CAUTION: can cause death
Ingredients: Whisp of despair bone of a leper every lemon you can find 6 dozen roses dyed red a child's laughter bottled and aged 15 yrs. the burnt out motherboard of a notorious pornography addict (Can substitute 18 books worth of bad smut, and rather than blended can be burnt to ash. This substitution is for non-modern time periods.) the left eye of an elven lord. (given freely) 50 dragon scales of deepest gold
Recipe: Repairing the Rift Divest yourself of all clothing, for this magic catches all but flesh and bone on fire.
Crush the roses and grind them to a fine paste, juice the lemons and mix paste and juice together until the juice is a fiery orange color. Set it aside. Take the bone of leper and carve into it the moon sigils for blood and power. drop the bone in the orange liquid along with the elven lord's eye. Leave to soak while moving to the laughter and whisp. Carefully sift whisp and laughter into the same container, ensuring not a drop escapes. Allow the two to mingle within a capped mason jar. Break the motherboard and drop into a heavy duty blender (you can grind it to dust on your own, but for time constraints, blenders work best.) Blend to a mid-sized dust. Take a large mixing bowl and drop the dragon scales into it, then mix in the dust of the motherboard. Careful not to inhale it.
Carefully add liquid with eye and bone to the scales and dust, mix thoroughly by hand. (dragon scales cause sparks if there is too much friction.) Once mixture is fully blended, take Mason jar with whisp and laughter as well as the mixture to your preheated cauldron. (outdoors on a fire pit.) Add Mason jar contents and bowl contents, slowly to heated cauldron.
Once entire mixture has been added, bring to a full raging boil, stirring constantly.
Once turquoise smoke begins to flow recite the incantation as follows,
"Bone of burden, scale of dragon Laughter genuine, and despair of mortal Life of sour, bound to sweet aroma, Give me thread to bind Give me sight to see Give power to close the rift unknown.
Bide thy time, cross thy stitch close the tear for this witch."
If all has gone well the tear should be sealed properly and hopefully permanently.
Purpose: This is meant to repair the time-space continuum when it has been carelessly left open by travelers who know not what they do and leave a mess behind for another to clean up. Generally used when a witch finds that some idiot has torn open a rift, and it must be sealed. It has options for both a futuristic setting as well as an ancient setting. and has been used several times to fix the hapless adventurers mistakes.
