- Due to her connection to the sun, Lieu regains energy very quickly when exposed to direct sunlight. She can use this energy to fire blasts of concentrated sunlight, or just to augment her physical abilities. Other sources of electromagnetic energy work as well, and she can shoot lightning in those instances, but it can be dangerous. If she tries to absorb too much energy at once, she can end up overloaded and injured instead.
In addition to absorbing light, she can let it pass through her completely, rendering her invisible. While this ability has its uses, she is unable to use any light based abilities while invisible.
She also has a connection to the sky and atmosphere, and can sense changes to the weather before they happen. As a solar dragon, she knows she has the ability to manipulate the weather, though she has yet to figure out how to use this ability.
Even without using solar power to augment them, her physical attributes exceed that of a human. Her natural form is that of a dragon. She can revert to this form at will, or just summon certain parts like her scales or wings.
Her senses of hearing and smell are better than a human's but weak compared to other species of dragon. Instead, she has incredible eyesight, and can sense electricity around her.

Personality |
- Lieu is a somewhat serious person most of time, though she can open up and joke around with people she likes, or make witful jabs towards those she disdains. She can slip into a bad mood easily, or just be a bit awkward while trying to be friendly, even with those she's close with. She has very little practice with social interactions, and is generally just bad at talking to people. She's attentive and analytical though, and does her best to put these strengths into being a good friend to anyone who gives her the time.
While she appears calm and collected on the outside, Lieu is dealing with a lot of anger and trauma under the surface, which shows mostly when she is placed in stressful situations, where she can either lash out, or turn into a nervous wreck. She can a bit impulsive as well, but for better or worse, a healthy dose of self doubt often keeps her from doing anything truly stupid. While that impulsivity allows her to make split second decisions, once she puts some thought into a choice, making any sort of decision becomes very difficult for her.

- I have been told that my people live high above the clouds, feeding on sunlight and passively maintaining the the storm that protects Tianti Yaolan from invaders. I don't know why I'm not up there with them, but my father says he found me abandoned in the hatching grounds of the Solar Dragons. I have to assume I was a late bloomer and got left behind? Knowing that I was abandoned like that troubles me, but I have never gotten up the courage to visit my people to like, ask them. Anyways, I was raised by one of the lords reigning over a Drapponian territory. Specifically the lord of Fēngbào, otherwise known as the Lord of Storms. The title might make you think he's a Solar Dragon like me, but he is actually a poison dragon. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one of my kind who sticks to the ground anyways. Moving on, Drapponian Lordships each have individual names, based on the location of their city state. Fēngbào, due to being near Solar Dragon territory, experiences a lot of storms, and its ruler is called the Lord of Storms. Anyways, I consider this man my father. Since he has no biological children, I am considered his heir. He has some other family, but insists that since he considers me his child, I should take the lordship when I'm ready.
I somewhat doubt his motives though. Once I was old enough, my father began having me perform espionage missions for him. He threatened to revoke my status as his heir if I did not agree. Being the next Lord of Storms was never important to me. But, I did not want to disappoint the only family I had, so I obliged. I was rewarded when I succeeded, and was abused and deadnamed when I failed. I preformed jobs benefitting Tianti Yaolan as a whole for a few years before the new Empress was crowned. When she learned about what I'd been getting up to and how I was being treated, she was extremely displeased with my father. She had me sent out of the country until I was old enough to take my father's title, at which point he would be forced to step down.
I'm sure that such direct action from the Empress will have consequences. I fully anticipate my cousins, and potentially others, challenging my claim to lordship when I return to take it. Either from those who think the Empress is playing favorites with me, or those who don't trust me because of my heritage. Since these types of disputes are settled via ritual combat, I intend to become as powerful as possible during my time in Aeston. I'm not sure I even want to be a lord, but I'm sure as hell not going to lose my title in some fight. I am attending Queen Cordelia Academy to finish my education, and am enrolled in the School of Knighthood to further my training.

- Due to the kindness she was shown by the Empress upon her crowning, Lieu is fiercely loyal to her, and is willing to carry out any task in her name.
Her nickname Willow is just the Aestonian version of her name Lieu. She likes how it sounds, and knows it's easier for Aestonian people to remember, so she tends to go by it while on the main continent.
Lieu's ability to take on a human form is largely affected by her sense of self and subconscious. While she's still biologically male, this makes her human form feminine enough pass as female without medical intervention.
Lieu could sustain herself on sunlight alone, but she would need to remain passive and sleep a lot. As that sort of lifestyle doesn't suit her, she eats.
Lieu's spellcasting affinity is rather low, so doesn't know any real magic, but she has a couple of enchanted items that help her out. She is able to use a magical bracelet capable of storing and summoning weapons, and other items like clothing. It is calibrated to her specific magical signature, and changes size to fit on her dragon form, and can turn invisible with her.
She also owns a set of clothing that turns invisible when she does. She usually keeps it stored within her bracelet.
She has a sword given to her by her father than can convert the user's energy into an offensive aura around the blade. It is called Anmoku no Yakusoku.
