Though it isn't an actual power, he is the grand master of a fighting style that he pioneered himself called Touzainanboku Ryuu-ken, or Eastern Dragon Fist. A counter attack based fighting style, it is mostly about self defense and using the opponent's movements against them and either disabling their opponent and preventing them from fighting back or causing as much damage as possible with any of the user's long ranged skills.

Personality |
- Believing working hard is the key to true happiness, Chao puts forth his all in whatever it is he does. Coming from a farming town far away from Aeston, he was raised to believe this. However, this doesn't mean he is always like this. Quite frequently, the elderly man would prefer to relax and take things easier in his old age. At this point in his life, he'd prefer taking a more sagely approach on things and being the words of wisdom to the younger generation. Around his grandson, he becomes able to force himself be able to act like he was twenty to thirty years younger. To him, his grandson is the most precious thing he has left.
History |
- Over half a century prior, there was once a small farming community on the Aeston Isles. From that village, Chao Jiao-long was born. Raised as a farmer's son, he did his best to work for his family, but had always felt there was more to life than just thriving off the land. By the time he was a teenager, he and a few other individuals had been invited to attend Queen Cordelia Academy as representatives for their village. Jumping at the chance, he took to the city as quick as he could.
The next few years at the academy speeding by, he discovered that he had a knack for understanding the history of the world they lived in. If it be the wars of the past, or mere agricultural achievements and when they occurred, he'd be able to recite when it had happened and where. It didn't take long before his achievements were recognized and he was offered to work alongside a scholar who lived off to the north of Aeston, but south of the Ice Lands. Upon arrival, he came to the grave discovery that they had passed away before his arrival. Now in the secluded mountains, away from civilization and off the beaten path, he took refuge in their home.
Adapting to the mountain life once again, he found himself going through the vast resources of knowledge the old scholar hid away. Living within the mountainous forest, he found himself becoming increasingly bored very quickly. Discovering an unusual amount of records of militaristic fighting styles in the scholar's home, he began to wonder what the old man was up to. It didn't take long for the truth to come out though...
Returning from collecting fire wood, he came back into the house to discover a dark skinned man with spiky jet black hair awaiting him. Confronting the young man about why he was there, the man was a giant. Clad in strange armor and obviously foreign clothes, the emblem of a moon was present. Telling the man he was suppose to act as the scholar's aide, the man seemed disappointed. Admitting to having the desire to want to fight someone, the man began to walk out. Stopping him, Chao questioned the individual. Asking who he was, the man revealed his true nature very quickly. Transforming into a massive dragon upon leaving, he claimed to be a general working his way to becoming the "King of the Dragons".
After the strange encounter, the dragon returned again and again. Each time, the dragon seemed to try to egg him onto training with him for fun. Eventually caving in, he agreed to train with him. To his surprise, the dragon seemed more interested in forcing the human to endure his training regime. Taking the challenges left and right, Chao didn't give in to the dragon's amusement. After a year of these off and on visits and training sessions, Chao finally got the nerve to ask the dragon's name. Giving him a toothy grin, the dragon introduced himself as "Osura Ki'ku".
Decades passing, they trained together whenever Ki'ku came to visit. Eventually becoming sparring partners, Chao learned to how to go toe to toe with the dragon when he was in human form. Enjoying their matches, he felt as if he could understand his old friend through their fists. He even went as far as naming his new fighting style after his dragon friend who claimed to be from the East. However, as time went on, his visits became less frequent. By the time Chao was reaching his fifties, his friend had stopped coming entirely. Living as a hermit in the mountains, he had begun to look back at what life was like in the city.
It was around the time he had just turned fifty-two that his old friend had finally returned. Worn out and breathing heavily, the dragon requested a favor from him. Presenting a sealed box to him, he held it out to him. Asking him to open it within a few hours, the dragon had retreated. Making his way towards a lake not too far away from the old man's cabin, the dragon swam into the water, only to pass away in the lake before his friend's eyes. In pain from witnessing his friend of over three decades passing on, he did as he was requested. Opening the box, he was startled by what was inside. Staring at the contents inside, his eyes met with a small infant. His eyes not even open yet, he looked to have been just born recently. Naturally assuming the child belonged to his friend, he took it upon himself to raise the child as his own.
Dubbing the child "Chaosura Kiaku", he had adopted the child as his grandson. Years passing, he had begun training his grandson in a similar way as to how his father did the same to the aging man. Watching the little boy grow, he could tell that he'd pass away before the child could become a teenager. His concerns growing over the boy's fate with each day, he found himself pleasantly surprised one day when a representative of the very same school he graduated from had come searching for him. Requesting he take up the role of a teacher, he gladly accepted, but under one condition: "I want to bring my grandson with me".
Now, Chao Jiao-long returns to the very same school that granted him a new future to enrich the lives of all the students he'd be teaching and give his grandson a chance to grow in the city.
