- To people who appear human, Gabriel is the perfect gentleman. He's kind, witty, and more than willing to go the extra mile for someone who's in need. However, his dark side comes out when he's faced with someone who isn't entirely human. He can be cold, clipped, and at times downright hostile. He as a deep-running prejudice that was instilled into him by his father. Outside of his treatment of other people, he is a hard worker and a perfectionist who will spend hours on something until he is sure it is absolutely correct.
History |
- The Bradford family is one of the noble families of Aeston. Gabriel's own ancestors fought in the Phantom War, and passed down a tradition of military strength. Since Queen Cordelia Academy was first established, every generation of the Bradford family has attended it's illustrious halls.
Gabriel is the firstborn of the Bradford family, and therefore heir to its titles and grounds. His father, Ashton Bradford, was delighted that his firstborn was a son and spent all his time on Gabriel, moreso than his other 3 children. From a young age Gabriel was drilled in proper etiquette, swordplay, and knowledge of history. Gabriel's father was a stern teacher who didn't leave much room for error, especially as Gabriel got older. Aside from the traditional learnings, Ashford taught his son less savory ideals: that those creatures who were not human, were less than human. That they were basically animals who had mastered speech, and used magic as a shortcut for hard work. Gabriel absorbed all this information and accepted it as fact, never thinking to doubt his father's words.
When Gabriel was 15, his father finally decided to send him to Queen Cordelia Academy. Gabriel enrolled in the School of Knighthood, like so many generations of his family before him had. Upon arrival to the school, he was surprised by just how many non-human people were enrolled. If they were basically animals with speech, how were they smart enough to get into this academy? Other such inconsistencies have shown up in his previous three years at the school, but Gabriel clung resolutely to the lessons his father had taught him. He is now a college Freshman at Queen Cordelia Academy, where hopefully his mind will be broadened to accept those who are not like himself.
