Name ༄ Kiwena Ahmea Stage ༄ Apprentice Race ༄ Moakai Gender ༄ Androgynous Current Age ༄ 13 Career ༄ Undecided (Performer) Magic ༄ While relatively rare in Kahikina, Kiwena is one of among fifteen percent of Kahikinians gifted with magic. Ey was born with Fire aligned magic and is capable of heating the water at eir fingertips enough to bring it to a boil.
Child Description ༄ At twelve years old, the efforts of all the practices Kiwena does with eir father are already starting to show. Ey is still quite young and far from full-grown, but ey is developing a tall, lean, fit body both from constant work out and routines, as well as combating the natural current of eir home.
Ey has dark, desaturated purpleish skin to help blend in with eir home in the deep ocean and eyes as vibrant as lightning. Scales in the colors of a stormy blue and black stripe across eir forehead, cheeks, the sides of eir abdomen and a vertical pattern along the sides of eir legs. Ey has the customary two sets of gills on either side of eir neck that all Kahikinians share, as well as a long, thin, glowing lure that is unique to the Moakai. Eir hair matches eir scales, starting in that stormy blue and ombreing to black at the tips. Ey will wear it up or down and occasionally styled, if ey feels up to doing it emself. It isn't especially long, but ey also doesn't plan on cutting it.
For casual and workout wear, Kiwena prefers to stick to clothing only in moderation. Ey will wear very little when ey feels ey needs to be comfortable, just enough to cover emself and not appear immodest. Though ey hasn't been allowed to participate in any actual performances at this age, it has still happened that every now and then, ey will adorn more showy attire suited for the stage. Kiwena wouldn't say as much, but ey does find it enjoyable and thrilling to be wearing some of the more beautiful, flowing, layered pieces that the dancers in eir troupe wear during their acts.
Apprentice Description ༄ Kiwena has always dutifully trained eir body in preparation for this day. Now at thirteen years old, ey is ready to be welcomed into the fold of eir troupe as a full-fledged dancer. Eir body is tall and leanly, though not too obviously, muscled, giving em a graceful appearance.
Ey has allowed eir hair to grow longer, and Kiwena enjoys having it styled and wearing it prettily, oftentimes to match the dance-inspired outfits eir brother crafts for em. Ey is still quite serious for eir young age, but ey was encouraged to practice sympathy, empathy and softer emotions to help eir performances on stage.
Personality ༄ Kiwena has grown up being strictly managed primarily by eir father, but with a bit of added influence and control from eir mother. As such, ey is almost single-mindedly focused on eir parents’ teachings. There is little else that ey has experienced and little else that ey is even aware ey could be interested in. Anything outside of the troupe and the duties required in it are entirely foreign to em. It has resulted in em being very serious toward the role ey’ll play as a performer in eir future and also very closed-minded to new activities, new friends, and new thoughts. ‘New’ makes em very uncomfortable, and ey prefers to retreat from things that are unfamiliar.
Or scoff at, if ey finds it offensive. Even though ey primarily interacts with other members of the troupe, there are occasions when the group visits neighboring settlements. Kiwena doesn’t do exploring, but if watchers from the crowd happen to approach em, and ey isn’t impressed with how they speak, what they wear, or even how they look, ey will mercilessly let it be known that ey disagrees with their choices and strongly believes they need to change to suit eir preferences or beliefs.
As an example, Kiwena’s parents have taught em that though many Kahikinians will choose a gender to go by, any such thing is frivolous, unnecessary, and wasteful of thought process to have to try and remember who is going by what (though several in their troupe do use gendered pronouns). Their children will do no such thing and have no business propagating such foolishness by acknowledging it. Kiwena openly scorns others’ choice to use pronouns and will exclusively use “ey/em/eir” when referring to everyone and anyone. Ey is not bothered if eir comrades are offended or become disinterested in em. Ey has eir own studies and practices that need to take up eir time, rather than opinions of others.
What Kiwena isn’t proud of is how ey deals with eir sibling and hatchmate. Two of their parents’ first clutch hatched simultaneously, resulting in Kiwena being born alongside eir ‘twin,’ Niqua. Niqua is primarily trained in the art of both dance and tailoring by their mother, resulting in a broader skill set as well as the potential for more roles ey could be allowed to fill once grown. Kiwena is exceptionally jealous of this. Though ey is proud of eir dancing, it might have been nice to have perhaps one or two other skills to practice...
Ey doesn’t like to waste time or effort. Ey is not affectionate, gentle, or loving and doesn’t recognize these feelings in others. Eir world involves just em, the teachings of eir parents, and eir future goals. Once Kiwena reaches those goals… well, ey hasn’t thought that far ahead (but once ey has perfected what eir father can show em, Kiwena will suddenly feel lost and confused and will need to find something more to occupy em to feel validated in existing).

Infant ༄ Kiwena’s parents are a duo of studious (and somewhat adventurous in their studiousness, as they enjoy the idea of learning the styles of other cultures) entertainers who reside alongside their troupe in Ekewaka. The group consists of perhaps fourteen Moakai adults of varying beliefs and ages, who are all quite close and consider each other family. Kiwena has in the past received various lessons, reprimand, and even affection from all of them (as the rest of the troupe’s children do), but ey and eir ‘twin’ take all of their instruction and primary upbringing from their parents. While both of Kiwena’s parents think it is frivolous and unnecessary for Kahikinians to assign genders, they have adopted the titles of “Father” and “Mother” based upon which role they performed during breeding.
Eir mother, Initia, is a Moakai who contributes to the dancing aspect of the troupe’s shows only when alongside eir mate. Otherwise, ey has a hand in all of the costumes and ensembles worn by the group. Eir true passion is tailoring, and it is a goal of eirs to have each piece be perfect and beautiful. Ey has also been the one to take up the training of Niqua, the second child from the first and only clutch to hatch. Kiwena’s father, Baun, is strictly a dancer. It was how ey won over eir mate, and ey hopes eir children get as much a thrill from it as ey does. Ey is primarily in charge of setting Kiwena on the path to inherit eir role of performer in the troupe.
Baun is very dedicated to learning new styles and techniques and will occasionally bring eir family to other Moakai cities to learn about the different displays the people of neighboring settlements are interested in. Very rarely has the group gone to Haukea, as they consider themselves a sort of democracy and generally do what the majority of its adult members have a preference for, of which very few feel the need for frequent trips to the reef (though it has happened).
Initia and Baun are both very strict in their tutoring, and their hands on, but somewhat separate (Initia trains Niqua, while Kiwena is primarily trained by Baun) approach to raising their children has made more of a rivalry than an affectionate sibling bond develop between the two hatchmates.
Kiwena sees eir sibling as having more freedom than em, despite eir hatchmate actually having more to study, due to taking on the teachings of their mother, who practices both dancing and tailoring. Initia isn’t one to let eir children slack, and is just as harsh on Niqua as Baun is on Kiwena. However, Kiwena views it as eir twin having more choice in the role ey will eventually play and more freedom to do what pleases em the most. Meanwhile, Kiwena emself feels very trapped (but also wholly obligated) to follow eir father’s teachings regardless of other possible interests. Because of this, ey harbors some jealousy and spends much of the time spent with eir hatchmate butting heads. They are not the closest siblings and don’t always prefer each other’s company, though truth be told, Kiwena seems to not prefer company from anyone at all.
Child ༄ Kiwena has always dutifully followed and practiced eir father's teachings, for as long as ey's been able to so much as move. However, ey is still looked upon as a child, and has never been allowed so much as a minor role in any actual performance. Kiwena has become very impatient with this. Ey is eager to receive the same praises and recognition as eir father, but always ey is was told there was 'something off' about em, even in practice.
For a long while, there wasn't anything more specific than that, leaving Kiwena ever more frustrated in eir attempts to become better and more capable. In those attempts, ey continued to almost seclude emself away from the others eir age, learning other roles in the troupe.
Until eir father, Baun, approached em with the suggestion that ey try to become more amenable to eir troupemates. Kiwena, of course, rebels against this initially when eir twin and hatchmate, Niqua says that they will have opportunity to perform together in Haukea, but eventually they reach an understanding, and so the pair prepare to begin practice on the first performance they will do as a unit.

Apprentice ༄ Solo: Kiwena and Niqua begin training side-by-side, with Kiwena instructing eir twin in the actual performance they will do, while Niqua insists on dressing Kiwena in many strange garments. Solo: To Haukea, where Kiwena will hopefully have opportunity to practice friendship with many new faces. Solo: Kiwena is presently unaware that ey has any magical capabilities. In the heat of the reef waters, they blossom forth, and ey doesn't know how to make use of them.

Character Name: Kiwena Ahmea Journal:[Boop] Growth Point Links: 20/20 xxx༄ - 3 points xxx༄ - 3 points xxx༄ - 5 points xxx༄ - 4 points xxx༄ - 5 points Appearance: I did a doodle of Kiwena in a 'performance'-like outfit (bad skin color, whoops), so I'd like eir apprentice-stage to look similar to that! Also, I would like for em to have a different hairstyle, definitely longer than before, but style can be up to artist. Body Type: Kiwena is leanly-muscled. Ey works out kind of a lot and does many stretch-type exercises, so even though ey's young, I would like for it to be obvious that ey has a rather strict body maintenance regimen. Preferred Artists: kaname423 full, kaname423 lines with Tasinei/jayoku colors Livestreaming: It can be a surprise!
