 There are three Avatar Contests here.
You may enter any or all, up to three entries, but you may only win once.
The Lentic merpeople are crafters.
They tend to stay where they are, their lakes and ponds and such. They practice fish farming and trading with the two-legged folk. They also craft most clothing the merfolk of the Waterweave wear - made typically from fishing nets (they're all the rage) and oiled cloth. Typically these clothing items are wrapped like skirts about their waists and vests. Jewelry tends to be made from smooth pebbles, driftwood, and the lopsided river pearls.
The Lotic merpeople are warriors.
They travel up and down their underground rivers, sometimes serving as scouts or couriers between Lentic tribes. More often they keep their territories properly defended and mapped, and ensure the ecosystems remain in check. Many are trained as warrior types as it takes great strength to fight the currents going upstream, and to remain dexterous enough to not let the current control them when going downstream.

 Diving Dice GameThe object is to add up to the top score overall.
You may dive as often as you like by rolling any dice you like (one per roll).
See this post for help if you don't know how to roll dice.
You only score if it rolls one of the top three numbers possible
(on a d4, that's 2, 3, 4. On a d12 that's 10, 11, 12).
Keep a running total of your dives score so we can double check each other.  Novice: Roll a d4 (dice with 4 sides). Count only 2s, 3s, or 4s. A roll of 1 gives you no score to add.
 Competitor: Roll a d6 (dice with 6 sides). Count only 4s, 5s, or 6s.
 Regional Champion: Roll a d8 (dice with 8 sides). Count only 6s, 7, or 8s.
 Olympian: Roll a d10 (dice with 10 sides). Count only 8s, 9s, or 10s.
 Professional: Roll a d12 (dice with 12 sides). Count only 10s, 11s, or 12s.
 Prodigy: Roll a d20 (dice with 20 sides). Count only 18s, 19s, or 20s.
 Super Hero: Roll a d100 (dice with 100 sides). Count only 98s, 99s, or 100s.

How to Post Your Avatar
So you don't have to stay "in costume" or use Avatar Builder or save it to another site. This works for saving other people's avatars, too:
1. Find a post you (or they) made and click the red heart under the avatar. I often save mine in a folder for Avatar Contests or in a folder of my own avatars.
2. Go to the My Gaia drop down menu and click "Favorites."
3. Find the avatar you just saved and click on it. A dialog box will open with the avatar in it.
4. Right click on the avatar and select "Open image in new tab" then go to that tab.
5. Copy the url for that image (in that top little box that starts "https" ) and use it in your img codes to post.
6. Please PM me if these instructions are hard to follow or you need any help.
How to roll dice
In guilds, look below the box you type your post into. In forums, look to the right of that box.
Pick the kind of dice you want to roll (how many sides) and how many of them to roll (1-20, if you pick 0 your answer will be 0) Navigation Map in Spoiler
