Cody is basically a gear head, anything technological is something he can understand. He loves a good puzzle, putting together and taking apart machinery and the occasional video game or walk on the outer hull of the ship. He tends to be a bit awkward around people because he personally prefers machines but he isnt anti social. He is kind, caring and puts everyone else before himself, which he is stubborn just like his old man. Oh, his father is the one who put all this together. Jack Rivera, Head of River Engineering, is the one working to make this project a reality for the betterment of human kind.

Engineer Dean Kalren is one of the few engineers on the UNSE EDEN, an experimental exploration ship that was apart of a fleet to travel out into the universe. His ship was about to make its jump when some warnings came up, but upon inspection, nothing appeared to be wrong. Their ship activated its FTL Drive to shoot off into space at speeds that would match that of a hyper drive from old science fiction films. Their ship was doing great til half way through the jump, the FTL began shaking itself loose, either not fully secured or sabetaged, the crew began to attempt fixing it but when they knew it was too late, they began to abandon ship. They tried setting off a distress beacon but as the Captain sent Dean to read the escape shuttles, he was checking the systems when an unexpected explosion threw him into the shuttle and detached it. Dean got up only in time for the shuttle to be thrown out of the FTL, forcing the shuttle to come to a sudden stop sending Dean flying into the controls knocking him out.
