He didn't even have time to finish his cigarette and she was back already, arms loaded down with scrolls and such, medical from what he could see. He didn't say anything, since she was on her own time, and hadn't sought his advice on the subject. He would give his eyes a blink, taking a detailed notice of certain things but also of the techniques she was using and studying, out of the corner of his eye. It was good she was a natural, since the very, very basics were ineffable to him. Honestly, he was learning himself, since he'd come across the ability to use wood recently. Kanzaki lit himself up another cigarette to ponder that entire matter, taking a sip from his gourd of sake while his student quietly studied. But hell, he had s**t he could be doing to better himself, so why not? He'd dip out for a moment to the kitchen.
This place's kitchens were a mess. It was a miracle anything got done around here. Which is specifically why he came on as a chef and not a cook. Not that the cooks were doing their job. [1]
He'd grab a rag and some soap, taking them to the deep sink. With one wet cloth and some cleansing fat he was gonna make this kitchen halfway decent. Kanzaki angrily stomped about, muttering under his breath as he put every vertical and horizontal surface to the cloth. He'd wipe down all the dust and scrub away all the old food nobody bothered to get up. [2]
With the obvious out of the way, he had to even further. He'd tear apart the stoves and burners. The racks in the ovens were pulled out. Even the covers of venting fans were ripped away, all tossed in the deep sink. He'd flood it with water and soap, going back to cleaning unobstructed. [3]
Old ash was mopped away. Bits of food and sauces burned beyond recognition were scraped with a knife until gone. For a while, there sat Kanzaki, JoJo posing into a series of ovens to clean the tops, sides, and bottoms without getting his yukata dirty. The blades of the ventilation fans were rubbed free of their grease and smoke smell. [4]
Rolling his sleeves and taking off his robe, he'd head to the sink. It'd take one of his chakra steel knives, but he got to cleaning. Well, not cleaning so much as it was refurbishing. Anything made of metal was now this weird bronze color if it wasn't black already, so that had to be made to shine. Not that everything could go without special polish and equipment, but he was doing more than the current staff. [5]
When it was all said and done he put all the stuff back together. He even went further and turned everything on. Grills, stove, fans, burners. All of it on a low heat to burn up any soap or water left over. Didn't want it on any food. Even if soap was just animal fat. Best to be read right away than waiting around. [6]
The worst part was at the end, and he hated it. He'd make his own fun by filling up buckets of water, and just throwing them on the floor. He'd take a mop and ease the floods towards the outer doors or drains. Then he'd do it all again, but this time with soapy water, with the worst of the grout disappearing with some elbow grease and his back behind the brush. [7]
Finally cleaned to his standards without busting out a microscope, he could carry on. Trouble was, when alone and hungry, he had to do all the stuff lowly cooks did. He'd march over to the fridge and throw the door open. His sharingan went over every single item, inspecting the date when it was stored. [1]
Worse than he could have imagined. With no audience, it did no good to shout and throw things. Especially after he had done all the cleaning himself. He'd stomp to the back door, grabbing a bin and a bag. He was going to toss out everything that was unusable. [2]
Toss he did, filling up the bin in moments. While not spoiled persay (the cooks here were pretty decent with that) most of the half used ingredients weren't of any use, past their prime. Sub par trash. He'd push the fresh things back and start organizing them by type and date, not keeping the easily spoiled next to the long lasting. [3]
There were tons of fresh vegetables inside, which hadn't been prepared at all. He has yet to encounter a dish that required a whole cabbage. He grabbed arm-fulls of them, taking them over to a smaller sink. Dumping them in, he rinsed all the dirt off them, shaking them out. [4]
Wanting to try a bit of fun, he set down the chopping board and knife he had. Those were for chumps and non ninjas. There was no possible way he could screw this up. Kanzaki tossed a cabbage over his head, waiting until it stopped rising, right hand resting on his sword. [5]
Ribbons of cabbage rained down on the counter top. His sword clanged back into the sheath. That was kind of cool, having a use for his sharingan outside of battle and bullshit. He still had to scoop the pile of cabbage up and dump it into a clean bowl, but it was fun for a moment. [6]
With the vegetables all washed and prepared, he sorted them all into containers as he chopped them. Each was sealed with a lid and stored close to the refrigerator door. Kanzaki cleaned off his sword next, then wiped down the last of the bits off the counters into the sink. Another rinse and now everything was finally over and done with. [7]

"Do you like dolls?" "Do you like dolls?"
Anma blinked as the individual she was fighting turned and ran. Deactivating her Byakugan, she paused for a moment. Looking back up to see her puppets still standing around, a confused look seemed to pass across her face. "Dolls? What are you doing over there?" she asked to the inanimate puppets. With a twitch of her fingers, the puppets waved at her, then made their way over. Anma sealed them away within her scroll then spun around.
Skipping into the field of the snowpeople, Anma weaved her way between them until she made it to a small opening. It was here she began practicing various Jutsu. Utilizing the moisture in the snow, she created a series of Shuriken and threw them into another one of her snow creations. She followed it up with a few more hand seals and an extra large Shuriken made of water.
Anma formed a few more seals before spewing out a sticky substance on the snow ladden ground. Gagging a little bit as she vomited out an oil immediately after. Watching as the oil caught on fire and evaporated the previous syrup, Anma noticed a pool of water had formed.
Hopping into the pool of freezing water, she splashed about with her feet. Her white dress flowing the air as she bounced up and down. After bouncing for a while, she ran her hands through another set of handseals and turned into a puddle. Consequently, She was forced to learn how to breathe under water.
Moments later, Anma burst from a nearby snowbank, having traveled there out of boredom. The girl in the white dress, coughed out a cloud of smoke that seemed to float in the air. She danced amid the ashy cloud, before exiting the other side.
She spat out several globs mucus that glistened against the snow. She spun away through the snow, but lost her footing and tumbled. Giggling, Anma stood back up and dusted the snow off her dress with her hands. Her delicate fingers then intertwined into the tora hand seal. Several fireballs flew from her mouth and caused both the mucus and cloud to explode in flames.
Luckily for Anma, her tumble had placed her just at the edge of where the fire might reach. Feeling out her tenketsu, she sent her chakra forth and it flowed over her form. Protected from the flames washing over her, Anma giggled behind a hand. "Pretty colors."

__Finished with her wood jutsu it was time to shift into a more physical mindset. Taking up her scrolls Ikuyo started reading into what was called whirlwind training. It seemed to be based around keeping yourself moving no matter what. Maybe these folks did have some sense after all. In the wild there were plenty of things stronger than you in every single way so it was much often better to run away unless you had the support of your teammates and Ikuyo never had kinship like that so she always ran.

Next part of the stage was just more speed exercises which Ikuyo felt was a little redundant but ti must have to account for something. Probably strengthen up her legs in order to prepare her for the rest of the stages of learning. All Ikuyo knew was that she was just a tad embarrassed now bringing her studies with her in front of Kanzaki.

Now came the hardest part of all, using her newfound speed to translate into power for the purposes of striking her opponent. Following the description, using speed she would be able to throw her weight behind all of her attacks so as to make up for not being able to hit as hard as another would. Something she found she would need often. Also, with how much she would be needing to stay on a roll it was good that she could create the very landscape she needed at will. This ninja stuff was paying off already.
Finished for now with her taijutsu learnings Ikuyo shifted into a more elemental nature. It was important to her understand where all things came from, and in this case, it was earth and water. Earth was a sturdy element and the one she felt she would have more of a connection to since as all she was bound to it. With the basics under her belt Ikuyo learned such things as how to move throw it and force it to her will.

With the first part of her jutsu done Ikuyo ran off to get more scrolls and put back all of the old ones. The excitement of learning was starting to reignite within her as she read through more jutsu even on the way back. Surprisingly she found that her interest was more intrigued by the use of mud. It had never occurred to her that mud could be dangerous by itself but many of these jutsu create a way to weaponize it. Taking a backseat from the hard-rugged power of earth Ikuyo studied the more free-flowing water style form of earth.

Finished with her water ninjutsu Ikuyo started work on the element known as Suiton here. From her understanding she was capable of summoning the water of life from thin air? The power that these people have discovered and so easily commanded shocked her a little. What must their wars be like? If everyone one of them can bring down things such as this so easily. Reading deeper into it Ikuyo found out how she herself could manipulate this water in order to create various effects.

Nearly finished already her brain didnβt feel like it could take anymore of this studying. The next move was one a bit interesting at least in her opinion. Something about creating a tornado of water around her? She didnβt understand what a tornado was but from the diagrams it looked as it was meant to cause a swirling circle of water which she rather liked. With that completed Ikuyo moved onto the maruton section of what was listed as random techniques, things that didnβt have a home or place in the other areas.

All of this null element business was weird but what really puzzled her was what exactly she was doing when she created these effects? None of the examples could properly explain what she was utilizing unlike with elemental chakra where she didnβt feel like she was working with just.. plain chakra. Even further more she could amplify itβs effects by using a clone of herself? I guess by the chakra signatures being so similar and all that but the clone style seems too advanced for me right now.

Now finished with all other forms of jutsu Ikuyo traversed into the realm of genjutsu. Kanzaki had peeked her interest in it when he spoke of not being very experienced in really awoke her curiosity in it even if she hadnβt the slightest idea where to start.

Overall the jutsu were interesting as they used her chakra, just plain chakra, to infect the targets mind and trick the senses into feeling something that wasnβt there. The only problem Ikuyo could find with this was that because one could dispel these visions, she would have to be very careful about how she went about placing them on a person so that they couldnβt tell that what she wanted them to believe wasnβt real in the first place.

Anma had wandered into the building and discovered the library. As she examined scrolls, she found one labeled "Genjutsu of Horror and other effects" by one Alfred Romero Craven. She quickly exited and studied it in secret. Her only accompaniment the howling snow storm outside.
Jin was originally from the land of iron, but had wanted to become a shinobi. Failing the entrance exam, he went back to the land of iron to try and become a samurai. Despite his talent for Bukijutsu, he was rejected for betraying his roots. Unable to become a Shinobi or a Samurai, his frustrations were easily played on and he found himself recruited to Kogarashi's cause. He had begun to have a few doubts and confessed them to his friend in his unit. Jin finished washing his hands and was about to step out into the hall when the lights flickered and then went off. "Blasted snowstorm, disrupting the sealing array." He stepped out into the dark when he heard and saw something that sent chills down his spine. A young woman in a snow white dress with a bright smile giggled as her blank eyes seemed to stare right into his soul without ever seeing a thing."Do you like dolls?"The voice asked, though the woman seemed to flicker in the dark. Jin tried to push her away from him, "Get out of my wa-what?" his hand passing through her. She seemed to disappear before his eyes, but the voice-Kami-sama- the voice remained.

Then it came from his right,"Do you like dolls?"Then from behind him,"Play with me?"Jin spun around, falling to the floor, and backed further into the hall. "Come out!" He shouted, scrambling to his feet.Then the footsteps started. A light dainty, skipping noise that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Jin took off at a run.
Down the hall he sprinted, turning various corners. He stumbled and fell as his shin hit something along the floor. Sitting up, he heard the voice again, this time a humming lullaby. Jin could feel his body slowly relaxing. Its so nice. But wait, what was I running from? he thought to himself as he slowly stood up, but couldn't bring himself to continue running. He turned to see the girl in the white dress a couple feet from him. The voice came again, but soft and sweet,"Would you like a massage? Play with Anma? "
Though the voice felt so good to give into, the last request triggered the fear he had just been feeling and heightened it. "Get away from me you crazy b***h!" Jin pulled a knife from his pants pocket. Flicking the blade free, he thrust and watched in relief as it seemingly pierced her chest. Too scared and elated to realize that he felt nothing. Then a poof of smoke appeared where she once stood. Footsteps, rapid and intent on closing distance. Kawarimi!? he thought as he looked over his shoulder in mounting horror. The little girl in white dress thrust a kunai into his chest and heart. Pain erupted from the point of impact and he could feel his life flash before his eyes.
The man collapsed on the floor. Anma looked down on him, her hands pushing the bottom of her dress in so he couldn't look up it. She smiled and close her eyes, head cocked to the side as she leaned forward. "Play with me?" She asked practically beaming. It was Jin's last sight, the face of this madwoman and her haunting voice as his vision was blocked by leaves temporarily only to reveal more and more copies of this insanity. His heart having given out in terror, he faded, the words echoing in his ears even as he died."Play with me?""Play with me?""Play with me?""Play with me?""Play with me?""Play with me?"

She was certainly taking to her training easily enough. She had gotten so excited she just set about it herself without asking him any questions, and learned more jutsu in a few hours than he had at the academy. He'd found a talented one. Color him impressed. Naturally, he had copied anything he cared too as she learned, specifically some of the illusions, which he had neglected. The elemental training was out as well, since his realignment he no longer had his wind, and they didn't suit his style whatsoever. So was the taijutsu, since he had a mind to learn his people's style before all else, and his heavier frame didn't suit her lithe acrobatics... not that he minded watching that either. Ikuyo would vanish and return again, Kanzaki's stomach grumbling as he finished his cigarette as she looked so eager."L-lemon? The fu--"he'd stutter, wondering just what that was supposed to mean. Something to discover later. She wanted one of the two swords on his person (that she could see, anyways.) He looked down at the pair of them, taking them from his belt still sheathed, one in each hand."You can borrow one of them. The straight one an arming sword. It's better for parrying and cleaving. The curved one is a katana. It's weaker structurally but can slice like nothing else. They're supposed to be made of a special metal that works with chakra, but I'm pretty sure the smith ripped me off. Never buy anything made by Mam."Before she could reach for one, he pulled them both back pursing his lips a bit and staring back and forth between them. Heck, when was the last time he'd really had to use them? He bundled them both in one hand and held them out together."Here. __Ikuoy hadn't the slightest understanding of who this mam was but by now she was starting to understand to just write things like this off as his personality quirk. Grabbing both swords she tested each of them out quickly before choosing the practice with the longsword, it was most like the weapons of her homeland and felt a sort of comfort attached to it. "Ah, it'll jist be a minute!" Grabbing the sword with two hands Ikuyo gave it a few practice swings to measure out it's weight in her hands and how to actually use it for more than just cutting butter. Then once the basics were gone over enough the fledgling swordswoman pulled out a single remaining scroll meant to teach her bukijutsu. The style within was all about learning to utilize the sword in it's most basic method. The moves were apparently old as time but that didn't mean it was useless by any means.

Onto the next stage int he style Ikuyo began learning the intricacies of blocking an opponents blade while also putting herself in a position to attack from a stronger angle. It was sort of thrilling getting to use a weapon this nicely made. The heavy steel was so much more smooth like it cut through the air around it with ease. She would have to see about getting her own made while she was here. Perhaps Kanaaki would know of a place?

Finally stretch now. Next Ikuyo learned the importance of her footwork and how to keep herself steady even under the worst of circumstance. If she could be knocked to her feet than it was likely she would end up with a blade in her chest and THAT was fate she wished to avoid if she could help it.
Wiping the sweat off her forehead the woodswoman stood proud of herself this day. She had learned everything that she could from this place and felt like she was already on the right track towards completing her goal. Running back up to her mentor excitedly she handed him back his weapon. Only sadden internally at the loss of such a tool. "Oi'm finished an' ready ter go oyt an' explore! Dat blade wus far nicer than anythin' Ah've ever 'eld before. Is dare a place oi wud be able ter git wan similar?"
A new shinobi made his appearance at the institute, taking care not to talk to any more people then he had to. His appearance was relaxed and how he carried himself was very much in a way that made him look rather aloof. Hand shoved in his pockets he found a section of the institute that wasn't currently being used and began his training process.
It had been some time since he had had to use his jutsu, a bit of an impromptu vacation causing that, so he knew he had to start with the basics again. The creation and manipulation of wood. From his vest he produced a branch that he had picked up along the way and sat it down in front of him, crossing his legs as he joined it on the ground.
It took a bit of messing aroud with the branch and refocusing of his chakra but eventually, he got the hang of it again. Stretching out its size, creating new buds across it, he twisted and shaped the wood with greater ease the longer he focused. Almost like someone working with clay, it only became easier with time.
tab A giant of a man, standing at a dizzying height of 6'9", entered the Institute. With his recent re-entry into Gimangakure, his face was "on", so to speak. He had been gone from this city for quite a while now. It had certainly changed. Not that his imposing figure and tribal clothing didn't already cause him to stand out but, unlike his first entry all those years ago, he had learned that people, especially receptionists at shady hospitals, react negatively to a faceless warrior entering. Here was a lively place, he thought. A place to share knowledge? A welcome change from the old ways.
He followed the familiar sounds of training to find himself in the dojo. Finding an empty area, he decided to begin with a warm-up of his Bloodline. Since his return, the techniques of the Kaguya Clan that had been passed down through word of mouth had been adapted and changed. He had yet an opportunity to try them out and decided to limber his body with those first.

He focused his breathing and then focused in one his own internal musculochakraaskeletalsystem. Taking a simple stance, blades of bones slowly protruded from his body as he reflected on the Dance of the Willow. While he actually fought ferociously, the movement of bones here was similar to the slow and steady pace of Tai Chi. A bone extruded from his palm as it formed a one-handed sword he used in his meditative moves, a creation from the Dance of the Camilla. With a spin, more bone blades and bone plates were created and a handful clattered harmlessly on the ground as he practiced the extrusion seen in Dance of the Larch. Finishing that warm up and limbering his body and Shikotsumyaku, his movements began to speed up. Focusing on his spine while continuing the spin, he pulled it out and twirled it about himself, not dissimilar to some macabre gymnast. A continued pull excreted his own ribs on the end, which opened and closed like a chain chomp. Continuing the spin, robes of bones began to manifest, strengthening and supporting him. Having finished his robe, he halted his spin. Focusing again on his own skeleton, Taketori willed it to remain in place and took a step. Turning around, he stared at his own skeleton, which mimicked his movements. Satisfied with his warm up, he allowed his bone creations to collapse. Gathering them up, he reforged them into blades of bone to be added to his Infinite One Sword case. [Stage 4 - 6 learned, 10 techniques.]
After completing his warm-up and being satisfied with his understanding of his improved clan techniques, Taketori perused some nearby scrolls and began studying new techniques. He knew his weakness lay in his reaction timing and sought to improve that.
The first one he picked up appeared promising. "Be Water My Friends". A wise saying indeed, Taketori mused. He entered a coiled, almost boxer-like stance and applied the principles. Shifting like the sea and crashing like a wave, Taketori bounced on his heels and shadow-boxed imaginary foes. He found his quick steps improving, his dodges and backpedals speeding up as he imagined an intensifying fight. After focusing on dodging, weaving, and bobbing before attacking, Taketori then shifted his focus to dodging, weaving, and bobbing while attacking. It sounded like a small thing but the demand placed was enough to significantly increase the challenge. Beads of sweat were flying as the lone shadowboxer's imagination drove himself into a flurry of motion. Cooling down afterwards, he studied the scroll a little more to ensure he got the gist of the style. [The 14 techniques of Be Water My Friends trained, entire style learnable in 2 posts.]
Moving on from that style, Taketori decided he enjoyed that style of fighting and logically moved onto Tame Za Kyokudo, Ultimate Kickboxing. He had not often used his long, long feet and since he had been branching out of his orthodox fighting styles so much lately, it would be good to at least familiarize himself with this one. He focused chakra into his body parts, practicing how it felt with jabs and heavies, before moving onto the use of his feet. He entered a basic, muay thai like stance and practiced kicking and hooking his legs. The aid of his malleable skeleton helped him easily extend his reach by dislocating and relocating sockets and joints without discomfort. The kneading of his chakra had slowly spread as he studied and adapted, eventually reinforcing each and every muscle granting him greater abilities. While beginning to feel tired, another scroll caught his eye and interest. It hailed from Kumogakure, it appeared. Bringing himself to the wall, Taketori began to practice running up it without the use of chakra. He could find himself reaching a certain distance and began to fall. That was fine as he could then practice the different falling practices of the Kyuuten no Kumori. He spent some time learning how to create a quick platform of chakra with which he could momentarily jump again with. And then again, and again, and again as he got the hang of it. He had barely touched the ground this training as he practiced running on walls to leaping off air platforms back to wall running and throwing sounds to various places as a disorientation method. Completing the quite fun platforming style, he decided to call it a day for physical training. [Kyuuten no Kumori's 15 techniques trained in two posts.]
He decided to head to the quieter location of the library with its many scrolls. Grabbing four scrolls that interested him, he found a quiet table to sit down at and read. It had been quite some time since he had last looked at ninjutsu really. The first and second scrolls he had picked out were lightning related. One detailed the creation of a electric fog capable of blanketing an area. He studied the handsigns required as this was quite unusual from what he normally did. Yet Taketori was not dumb, and with some time he grasped the principle. The other lightnign technique, Hell Thrust, was much easier to understand. Given his mastery of the Kaiser Fist and Armors, it was almost surprising he hadn't come up with something similar himself. ([ Electric Fog ], [ Hell Thrust ])
Finishing those two scrolls, Taketori carefully replaced them where he had retrieved them from. The last two were stealth-related Maruton techniques. The first one was a way to bypass some lower level Sensory techniques while also turning oneself invisible and maintain invisibility at a cost. The other one was appropriately named "Silent Homicide Technique". The straightforwardness of that name was enough to convince Taketori to pick it up as he read about it. For the duration after he finished his physical training, Taketori would find himself going back and forth through the ninjutsu scrolls in the library. These techniques were difficult to pin down for him, one who was not as gifted at ninjutsu as some others, and so he'd spend plenty of time making sure he understood the underlying fundamentals governing the techniques. That was the problem with some of these higher level ninjutsu, if you didn't understand the fundamentals there was no way to just practice them straight up with how strange some were. A kick could logically be extrapolated to stronger, faster, more clever uses but who would have thought to use lightning chakra through fog droplets as an offensive pathway? Not Taketori, at the very least.

This focus and chakra control allows the user to deflect ninjutsu with complex formless or shield techniques equal to the rank of the ninjutsu. The user is now unaffected by the additional weight of armor (to a logical limit), and when the user is out of armor, their body and technique speed is greatly increased at the loss of the protection. They are much more adept at bursting into action, going from standing to 100% in single moments. Conversely, the user can now perform these techniques without needing armor. Must relearn every technique at half the learning cost to perform techniques without armor to learn the different distances and timing of the techniques. Overrides restriction. Kogarashi was a new name to him, yet perhaps he would have to give them the benefit of the doubt having opened something like this outside of the Village system. Kameyo stretched her arms overhead, looking at the new area with an amused expression. Kameyo wasn't looking forward to any training or hard work, but if she did it now, alone, with no distractions, she would get it done faster than if she did so around everyone else where they could chat. No, she would need to use the training area alone.
Before entering the building, she decided something rudimentary to warm up was in order. She formed the proper hand sign, taking in a deep breath as she gathered her chakra. Expelling it in a controlled manner, she literally dived into the ground. She slid into the earth like it was water, able to swim around in it the same way. __Now here was an intersting situation she found herself in. Did he really excpet her to fight him? It wasn't until just a moment ago that she even knew what chakra was and appearntly this man had been studying it for years now. Well i suppose it's time to sink or swim. Getting through only a moderate amount of fumbling with her hand signs, Ikuyo pulled forth a wave of earth the ripped up the tiles from the floor. It was unlikely that she would be able to overpower him so the next best thing she could do would be to set the stage to try and out smart him. Riding her tsunami of debris like a surfer on a board, Kanzaki might also be able to notice a subtle shift in her chakra aura but whatever this was was up to him to discover.

Dust trailed the dog as it sniffed its way around the compound, catching the faintest whiffs of its partner. She wandered and circled eventually coming to the courtyard, stumbling across him after what felt like ages. She was covered in dust from the meteor, even from half the country away when it fell. Kaoru whined and cried out when her eyes met the form of Kanzaki, sprinting over as fast as she was able. She wasn't as swift as his reflexes, but she was far enough away to take heed of the moving earth, bounding atop the tables at him to avoid it.
