What was once a beautiful, picturesque city with a lovely mountain backdrop has been reduced to military compounds, scorched earth and rubble while Providence and The Dominion fight for this key holding point.

Dominion on one side of the street. Providence on the other. In the middle? Civilians. You could almost cut the tension with a knife. This street had been chosen as it landed exactly in the middle between the Providence and Dominion bases. The buildings around had been scorched, frozen, reduced to rubble, swallowed by the earth, or otherwise had supernatural damage to them caused by the warring factions. Nonetheless, Jeffery held his sign high above his head, calling for the end of the war, and belting out the lyrics to " we shall overcome" with the rest of the protesters sitting in the middle. Like many, he had lost family members to the fighting. Innocent civilians who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. He didn't care who won, just as long as the fighting stopped. ☆═━━┈ Grace Starfall ┈━━═☆A mixture of Humans and Deviants rallied in between Providence and Dominion bases, the main goal was to spread awareness in hopes to end the war. Among them Grace moved around, supplying signs that she made for this event. Her own sign was of two hands holding each other, one had a Providence logo and the other a Dominion logo. The turnout did surprise her, it wasn't too bad given the spot that was picked. Some sweat formed as she had been helping out for a while now, letting out a huff chugging the rest of the water she had before tossing it into a trash bin. Someone in the middle was singing, it was fitting she thought- to an extent. It would be nice if both sides would come together, Humans and Deviants as equals. This rally was a small glimpse of what could be. This warmed her at the thought. There was a couple of media outlets viewing the scene taking interviews and what not. There was also some independent media there as well. Gazing out she could see a couple of arguments erupting which caused her to sigh "Andddd here we go already..." Hoping that all would simmer down.

" Ahh! You're always so negative, Ash!" he said tossing a foil ball in the air and catching it repeatedly. James grabbed the foil ball and shot it into the nearest receptacle. " Boom, baby!" he smiled. " Who knows? This could be the day everything turns around and we all get along, huh." he turned to Ashara and shrugged. He body language showed that she was ready to react immediately if anything were to happen. James pulled a protein bar from his pocket and unwrapped it. He wrapped his lips around the delicious treat and began to chew. " But, if I'm being realistic..." he gulped " then I give it maybe 15 minutes. There's already some people getting in each others faces already." he pointed out.

A small smirk played across Ashara's lips at Jame's antics, despite the tension in the air. James was always good for comic relief. "Careful, you'll give poor Rori a heart attack." The woman was often a ball of nerves, easily being startled. Even now pink coloured her cheeks. She lacked the bravo and confidence the majority of the field agents possessed, yet Ash wouldn't wish for a different teammate. She hadn't been let down yet, and loyalty was always valuable in times of war. Then again, Ashara herself was a rarity among those who fought for Providence, so perhaps that was why she felt a certain affection for Aurora. Most of those who had visible mutations like herself fell on the Dominion's way of thinking. A lifetime of bullying, discrimination and sometimes being outright attacked by those who feared and hated deviants left many angry and bitter. Ashara didn't want to rule over those who hated her, enslave them, or make them second class citizens despite her experiences. She merely wanted equal rights, which was what Providence was fighting for so Ashara would fight with them despite their past failures to protect deviants. In a way, she felt the rise of the Dominion had been a good thing as it had finally spurred Providence into action, though this was a thought she kept strictly to herself....and the telepaths who scanned her thoughts at various Providence checkpoints. Either they hadn't dived that deep, or they didn't deem the sentiment a threat since her security clearance had never been pulled. She could bearly hold back rolling her unnaturally bright green eyes at James suggestion they might all suddenly decide to get along. She did give an audible snort of derision at the idea. "Just like everyone suddenly decided to get along during the American Civil war?" She retorted. "Might as well wish for your Hogwarts letter while you are at it." Too bad Voldemort destroyed the records of Muggle-borns. What would wizards make of deviants? Ashara's thoughts wondered briefly before Aurora's shaky voice brought her back to the conversation. One day she'd get Rori to talk more, provided they all lived that long. It seemed they wouldn't even get the fifteen minutes James had predicted though. "Peace?!" A male voice shouted from the Providence side. Ashara stood up straight, knowing things were about to unravel. "Get ready." She whispered to her two companions while the male continued on. "They want to enslave you! How can you be marching for peace? You should be fighting against the Dominion, not standing on the sidelines!"

Shockwave "Slavery is nothing more than Providence propaganda." Another male voice responded. This one did not shout like the other, but his voice carried over the sound of the crowd in such a way that they all fell silent. The voice would be familiar to all, even if they didn't recognize it at first. The Dominion side of the crowd quickly shifted to reveal a handsome tall black male, dressed in a tailor-made suit. It was none other than Shockwave, the face and voice for the Dominion. "Those who kneel and accept Deviant superiority over humanity will live quite comfortably under Dominion rule. Where Providence has kept our kind a secret and force us into hiding, the Dominion will teach Deviants proper control of their gifts. Where Providence has taught suppression, the Dominion will teach mastery. The Dominion will see an end to accidental deaths caused by out of control powers Providence has brought the world. Where Providence has allowed Deviant hunters the thrive, to murder our kind or worse, allow them to perform horrific experiments on us, the Dominion will protect Deviants. Where Providence has brought hatred and fear between our two races due to inaction and incompetence, the Dominion will bring the peace you seek. Just as we will end Human violence on Deviants, so to will we bring an end to Deviant violence on Humans. All we ask is you but kneel."Feburary 17th, 2013

☆═━━┈ Grace Starfall ┈━━═☆It only began to get more chaotic as people began shouting at one another, arguing who was right and who was wrong. It then became silent as a voice, a familiar voice spoke causing the crowd to hush itself. Grace for a few seconds couldn't place the voice, she shimmied in front of people to see the man who was speaking. It was none other than Shockwave! How could anyone not know who he was. One of the heads of the Dominion. His speech was well, he made good points the one she didn't agree with was the obvious; 'All we ask is you but kneel.' "If I may interject. You say that all the Dominion ask is to kneel. There are going to be those who don't..." she paused trying to find the right words, plus she was a little nervous. "..They don't kneel, what happens to them? Is there a more peaceful solution?" Her aqua eyes blinking at the man. It was true, not everyone was simply going to kneel. Would the Dominion turn them into slaves? Kill them if they didn't obey? She couldn't agree with that. "What about the leaders of the Dominion and Providence sitting down to come to an agreement?" she added, curios to what the response would be. The rally of people began to murmur, spawning others to question and debate each other once more.

" Whaaaat? I'm not gonna give her a heart attack. She's made outta tougher stuff that, aint'cha?" he said patting Rori on her back. He knew he startled her because of a few of her many tells. He didn't mean to, but it just happens because of his personality and actions. Ash responded to his peace comment with the American Civil War and he sighed. " I keep telling you we've come a long way since then. We still have idiots with that mindset, but we also have people looking to a bright future." he shrugged. James couldn't help but to snicker at her comment about Hogwarts. He reached into his vest and pulled out an envelope. " I got my letter when I was 13 and I've kept it with me since." he said turning it to her to show her the school brand for proof. He showed Rori too in order to make her laugh and loosen up a bit. He folded it and tucked it back into this vest. He looked to Rori and wanted to try breaking her out of her shell again. " Yo, Rori. What do you like to do for fun. What are your hobbies? You like animals? Hate animals? Favorite food? Don't say pineapple." he said. " Same to you, Ash. What's up with you?" he asked trying to get to know his team better. A bit of commotion was going on in the crowd and James looked to it. " That's a familiar bald head." he said. " I like that suit though." he thought. James looked to Ash as she spoke. " Get ready? Something about to happen already? This is annoying." he said cracking his the knuckles on his right hand and eating a protein bar with his left. " Baldy is asking folks to bow before Deviants, huh? People nowadays. Like I said we still have idiots." he repeated. A woman then made her way through the crowd and spoke through her anxiety. " Oooh. Look at this. She's got bigger ones than most the guys int he crowd." he laughed. " Let's see how baldy answers her." he smiled.

Shockwave Shockwave seemed genuinely pleased Grace had spoken up, a friendly and open smile crossing his lips as his eyes settled on the bravest person at this gathering. He welcomed such questions. After all, the ideals of the Dominion weren't worth fighting for if they couldn't withstand scrutiny and questions. Only a leader who did not believe in their own message punished one for simply asking questions. "We would gladly meet with your Providence leadership, but I doubt they would meet with us. You see, there is something Providence does not want you to know. The founders of the Dominion, myself included, once belonged to Providence. For years we urged them to take action, to protect our kind from harm and teach them to harness their gifts rather than suppress them, yet they refused to do anything meaningful. It became clear if we continued to wait for them to take action, then we were no better then they were. They promise equality with the humans, but let me ask you this. Knowing all of that, if the Dominion stepped down and the humans no longer needed Providence to protect their way of life, how long do you think it would be before they were back to stuffing us in cages, conducting experiments on us, or forcing us to hide, segregated from the rest of society, in Providence centres? You want a more peaceful solution, but I submit to you that simply asking them to kneel is the more peaceful solution. Compared to what has been done to us for decades it is a kindness." Ashara half raised a hand to catch Rori, but the truth of the matter was she was standing too far away to be of much help to the falling girl. It begged the question of just how one who was so clumsy could make an effective field agent. Surely someone who could be knocked over by a simple pat on the back would be a liability in any kind of physical confrontation. And yet Ash had yet to be let down or failed by Rori, which lead to particular theory. One she hadn't shared with anyone else. Simply put, when in the heat of battle Aurora was too busy to remember to be self-conscious and that improved her co-ordination greatly. Ash lowered her hand back down to her side. Judging by the shade of red the Hydro had managed to turn, she figured Rori would rather they all ignored what had just happened rather than give her a hand. "Yeah, I don't know what you were thinking." Ash chimed in after Rori's comment about James choosing Providence over Hogwarts. "Clearly you've made a horrible mistake." Portals were fun, but she'd give them up for the magical creatures in the Harry Potter-verse. Besides, they solved their racism problem in the '80s with the death of Lord Voldemort. Allegedly. It was a beautiful moment, brought on by the common bond of fandom as Rori momentarily forgot herself. It was also unfortunately short-lived due to James's misguided if well-intentioned attempt to get to know them better. "Drawing, everyone likes some animals and I'll be sure to make sure everything we eat has extra pineapples in it going forward." Ash directed a wink at Rori who had returned to floundering under James's bombardment of questions. "Have you ever had grilled peaches and pineapple on ice cream? I'll be sure to make us some when we get back to base." She didn't really know if there were peaches or pineapple back at base. Maybe some canned stuff. That was if they even made it back to base. The air was so thick with tension you could almost cut it. It almost seemed inevitable that things would go badly. "I'll tell you what. I'll buy you a suit when Providence wins the war." The alternative to Providence winning the war was too horrible to think about. Ash had once heard someone say those on the right side of history always won. World War 1 & 2, The American Civil War. They were on the right side of history, she was sure of that, yet that they would win seemed a lot less certain. "If you want to call roughly half our kind idiots." That so many-sided with Deviant supremacy was also painful to think about. After everything, they had been through only to seemingly end up back in the early 1940's. James seemed to think the blonde girl's questions would stump Shockwave, but the fashionable electrokinetic almost seemed pleased someone had been brave enough to argue back. "We can't let him keep talking, but we can't attack him either."

☆═━━┈ Grace Starfall ┈━━═☆At Shockwave's response the crowd began to murmur once again, it was a bit more tense especially at what he'd suggested. The mans response was very thoughtful, he had good points too. "You're right, people fear what they don't know and they probably would conduct experiments on those who have gift, to try to understand. Us Deviants are human too, we just have these talents. Teaching Deviants to better control their abilities is a step in the right direction, also teaching the rest who don't have special gifts about Deviants might help too.. So they aren't afraid. What of those who don't kneel?" She asked once more, she again made the assumption of what the Dominion would do; slaughter them. She wanted to hear it from him- even better she thought maybe he'd prove her wrong. Full well knowing who she was talking too, it started to unsettle her a bit, she folded her arms over her chest, eyes glanced to catch her surroundings.
The people grew even louder at the anticipation of Shockwave's response, that's when a sudden and loud few rounds of 'banging' went off. Several nearby screams were heard as some people decided to run for cover while others decided to instigate it even further. It quickly turned into chaos as people ran frantically. Mini brawls began to happen on the streets. Grace turned her back to the eloquent speaking man, her eyes wide in a panic "Bloody hell!" she mumbled under her breath.

James smiled at their anxious accomplice. " See dat? Sheila be tough as iron, seen?" James said in his mediocre Jamaican accent. He passed the moment with a stifling a laugh. Was he that entertained with himself? Always. James took a second to grab another food bar out of his pocket. Releasing the nummy delectable to the world he took a great bite. " Look, you both don't have to tell me I made a mistake." he said pointing at them with the treat. " And just so you know I'm still able to go there..." he gulped, " ....so be nice to me and no one gets Sectumsempra'd" he jokingly threatened. " Mmm strawberry!" he said taking another bite. James patted her shoulders softly with a warm smile. " Sorry for the panic. It's just if I don't run my mouth then I don't feel like myself." he admitted a bit embarrassed. " Oooh what kind of animals, Rori? And are you sure you like peaches? Sounded like you were questioning yourself for a sec there?" he chuckled. He tossed the wrapper from his finished treat into the trash just to pull another from his pocket. " I'm running low." he mumbled to himself. He looked to Ashara as she responded to his question in a ver Ash way. " Drawing? Hmmm.... you look like you draw alot of Yaoi's." he said holding back a laugh. He let out a slow breath so his boisterous laughter wouldn't surface. No need to draw attention to this alleyway. Especially as tempers were flaring on the streets. " Ah! I hate to judge a book by its cover, but I'm gonna say you like wildcats, Ash. You peg me as that type of person." he smiled.James' eyebrow twitched at the mention of the forbidden fruit. " The day we eat nothing but pineapple is the day I switch teams. I don't think you want to piss off a future wizard!" he said displaying his invite to the two once again. His stomach growled loudly at the thought of ice cream. " Guh! I'm so hungry right now!" he complained taking a bit of his bar. " Chocolate. Nice!" he said. James listened intently to the man called Shockwave and couldn't help, but to agree to his odd logic. " Y'know...alot of what he's saying is crap, but the kneeling for peace thing has its merits." he honestly spoke. Before the two accompanying him could say anything he quickly spoke, " But even though it kinda makes sense it's still pretty stupid. Just like half of our kind." he laughed responding to Ashara. Before he could even come up with an idea to intervene several shots rang in the air. " Well, at least we didn't have to attack him." he said gulping down his food bar. " So, Ash, what do we do?" he asked as a small dust storm brewed around his feet.
