Northmore City, located just 6 miles away from Northmore University, a large city that is booming with tourism, trade, festivities, and sites to see. Spring semester at the University is coming to an end.

Name: Mike Lowry Age: 22 Appearance: Bio: Mike has been a student at Northmore University for four years. As the end of April approaches, so does his graduation. He has spent his time at Northmore pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.

"So we'll pick up on chapter 24 review next week. E-mail me if you have any questions regarding our final exam. The Sunday study group will take place in this room at 11:30 in the morning. I hope to see you all there."
Nick packed his backpack with his books and left the class room. It was a decent day out as he stepped outside of the science building. Spring had finally bloomed. The trees were green and rustling as the wind picked up. Nick enjoyed it. It had been too cold for too long. Nick made his way toward the cafeteria to grab some sushi before heading to his apartment that he shared with his roommate Mike. He walked through campus passing by other students who were already studying at some of the tables outside. Some huddled together watching videos on their phones as a group. Nick just kept walking in anticipation to get home and eat his sushi.
After walking for 10 minutes he arrived at his apartment building. He walked up the staircase and unlocked his door, grabbed a water from the fridge and turned on the TV. Immediately after turning the TV on he ignored the program that was on and browsed around the various apps he had on his phone while he ate his sushi.

"...And remember to email me before the start of finals week if you need to reschedule your exam. Happy studying!"
Mike had finally made it through his last class of his college career. He picked up his backpack and slung it over his shoulder, leaving the room to head to the student lounge where he left his cruiser board.
"Hey we'll meet up early next week to start studying for the exam," Mike told his classmate Joanna. "I definitely won't be doing any studying over the weekend."
Mike left the engineering building to head to the campus deli to grab a sub and case of beer for him and his roommate before skating his way back to his apartment. When reached his apartment building, he stopped to pick up his board and strap it to his backpack. Mike entered the apartment and saw his roommate Nick sitting on the couch. He put down his backpack, pulled out two beers and went to sit on the couch with him, beer and sandwich in hand.
"How'd you like the last day of class man?"

Nick gets startled as the door opens and coughs a little on his sushi. He waves to Mike as he leans his backpack against the wall and reaches inside pulling out a couple of beers.
"Guess we're celebrating early huh. Hand it here." Nick says as Mike hands him a beer and sits down next to him.
"How'd you like the last day of class man?" Mike asks.
Nick sighs, "It was fine, going to head to the review on Sunday and study before it gets too close to exam time... But today and tomorrow are relax days."
Nick finishes his sushi and opens his beer to take a drink. He get's up and walks over to the kitchen area just behind the couch to throw away his empty sushi tray. He glances out of the window for a second just to look at the trees again, admiring the beauty of the upcoming spring.
*WOOSH WOOOSH WOOOOSH* Two helicopters fly over the apartment building and head towards Northmore city. Nick watches as they fly overhead. "So is Joanna coming over this weekend? Need to know so I can clean and restock."

Mike sat down his half eaten sandwich and picked up his beer.
"That all depends on how drunk I get if you know what I mean. And I'm definitely planning on getting pretty drunk so she'll probably be over."
Mike laughed and took a sip of his beer before picking his sandwich pack up to continue eating. He pulled out his phone and opened up the Reddit app to see what's going on on the face of the internet and in the rest of the world.
"Do you wanna go out to the store soon? Now that you mention it, I think we are running low on a few things."

Nick walks over and sits back down.
"Yeah, sure we can head out in a couple minutes."
He takes another sip of his beer and starts watching the random History channel program that's on.
Nick hears some loud footsteps in the hallway outside their door and what sounds like an argument. He can't quite make out what they're saying until a man yells "It's not up for discussion! I'm going to get the kids and you're going to meet me at my dads! It's safe there!" The conversation continues more before the door slams and the footsteps lead down towards the stairs.
"Jesus did you hear that? I'm never getting married." Nick laughs to himself as he takes another drink. More footsteps start echoing down the hall with more whispers and shifting sounds.
"Dude can you checkout what the hell is going on? I can't even think because of all of this noise."

"Yeah man, sure thing."
Mike finished up his sandwich and balled up the bag that it came in before throwing it towards the trashcan. He sluggishly got up form the couch, awaiting the moment he could return to it, and walked towards the door. Mike opened it and poked his head into the hallway to see a few people running through. He managed to flag down a familiar face making its way through the hallway and stopped him.
"Hey what's going on? Where's everyone running to?" Mike asked.
"We were told that we need to stay inside. Apparently something is going on in the city, but I'm not sure what it is."
Mike opened the door wider and craned his neck towards his roommate.
"Did you hear that Nick?"

Nick stands up from the couch and quickly walks over to the door.
"What do you mean? Why is everyone leaving if we're told to stay inside!?"
Nick looked at the woman who'm Mike had stopped with confusion and worry in his eyes.
"If something bad is happening out there I need to make sure my family is safe. You boys should stay here and keep the news on. I'm sure there will be more information on TV."
She looks at them both before nodding and continuing on her way down the staircase.

Mike closed the door as their neighbor left them.
"s**t man, maybe we should make sure we have food and water, just in case we're in here for a while. Or maybe we should run out to grab some stuff. Y'know, before all of the stores are emptied out and things get too out of hand."
He walked towards the couch to grab the remote and turn on the news. There was video footage people clearing the streets of Northmore while a news anchor spoke over it. At the bottom of the screen, there was a message that read:
SEVERE THREAT IMMINENT. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. LISTEN TO AUTHORITIES. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

Nick steps back after watching the broadcast. The woman reporter was standing outside of the Northmore City Hospital where there was an extreme amount of cars parked and attempting to get inside. What looked like 20 police cars were also present and there were loud screams of help. You could see the blood on some of the people that were exiting their cars to get into the front doors.
More helicopters began flying overhead of Nick's apartment building and people that were still inside the apartment complex began to shout and yell in a panic.
"Mike what the hell is going on!? Was there an attack!?"
Mike explains that they should check to see if they have supplies just in case it could be more wide spread than just the city.
"Yeah uhh..." Nick's eyes dart around frantically looking for supplies.
"We've only got what's in the fridge." (half of a milk jug, 2 eggs, pasta sauce, some chicken, and the remaining beers that Mike had placed into the fridge.)
"Mike we gotta go." Nick looks at him hoping he agrees.

Mike looks from the TV to Nick.
"Yeah, we definitely gotta go."
He noticed something on the news that caught his attention. He spotted the blood on people's clothing.
"I think there might actually be an attack. There's going to be chaos out there Nick. We gotta hurry before whoever this is gets too close."
He picked up his backpack and motioned towards Nicks on the side of the couch.
"You should grab your bag man, just in case we get stuck out there longer than we should."
Mike hustled to the kitchen counter to grab his keys before turning back towards the door.
"And do you think we'll need to be able to protect ourselves?"

Nick went into his room and grabbed his backpack. As he came back out Mike asked if they would need to defend themselves.
"Honestly, I have no idea. But maybe you should grab the kitchen knife or something. Just don't let other people see you with it."
Nick was still worried about getting caught walking around with a knife by the police or someone thinking that they were part of the attack.
Nick ties his shoelace and stands up with his hand on the door knob.
"So we headed to the grocery store or what? We gotta get there before everyone else."

"Just don't let other people see you with it," Nick said.
"Got it, I'll stuff it in my bag then and make sure I can get to it easily."
Mike walked to the knife block in the kitchen and grabbed the chef's knife, sliding it into the side pocket of his backpack. He had been in enough fights throughout his life to know how to decently handle himself, but he'd never fought with a knife, or anyone like whoever could be causing chaos throughout the city.
As Nick gripped the doorknob, Mike turned back to him.
"Yeah man, let's get going. We gotta hustle if we want to get there before the rest of the city."
