– Aldaine enters new RP Day –
Aldaine sat amidst the high rooftops, overlooking the city. Solitude was the only state in which he could find any sense of comfort, as significantly small as it was, and today of all days. Lord Marshal Varys was to lead a march to the cemetery so as to pay respects to those who fell from the attack on the city. With every day that pasted, the pain never faded. It had been two months since then…two months since the horrors of cloaked attackers cutting down innocent civilians left and right, and explosions ringing throughout the city, all in an effort to draw Aldaine himself out of hiding, had occurred. These past two months, Aldaine was unable to feel anything but despair, a despair that could not be satiated with burning alcohol or the single or even multiple night’s pleasure of a harlot. No, nothing could bring any sense of reassurance to the jaguar…there was no consolation, no avoiding his own responsibility for what happened.
A gust of nippy winter air blew past him, interrupting his train of thoughts as he directed his gaze to the streets below. All he saw was the people, still picking up ruins of market stalls and rubble of buildings, noticing the odd family member breakdown into tears here and there, no doubt informed that one of their own had been listed among the dead. Aldaine felt his gaze dim evermore as what he saw reminded him of how the extremists truly affected Eoana...all this pointless destruction and bloodshed…all for one man…all for him. Amidst his remembrance he would feel some twinge of anger at the thought of Gerot. He’d expected his blood to boil at the thought of his old mentor, but instead, Aldaine found himself feeling only…a mild hostility, as though his own dismay had numbed his emotional state. It was almost as if Aldaine hadn’t the energy to feel rage towards the old man, even if deep down, Aldaine had come to despise him for what he did. If Gerot had just told Aldaine what was planned, if Aldaine knew there was going to be an attack on Eoana had he refused to return with Gerot, the jaguar would have went of his own volition, if only to stave off the attack and he wouldn’t have done so without warning Reynard of what was coming…
Reynard…
It brought the most pain to Aldaine when he thought of the former Captain of the City Guard. “So much for being ‘brothers…’” Aldaine spoke to himself quietly. He remembered Reynard’s speech, insinuating that the two of them had become brothers-in-arms…and all Aldaine did was rush in, without a plan, getting himself captured and getting Reynard killed in the process. At this, Aldaine felt himself instinctually hide his face in his arms, as he curled up slightly on the rooftop where he sat…”It should have been me…not you…Reynard…”. Aldaine was fully curled into a ball at this point, as he spoke to himself once more, the cold winters breeze being the only thing to keep him company…
”I couldn’t protect them…I failed again…Jenna…”

Kayl Ardrus De'Valaer
Probability || None Enters from the Blacksmith's...
╔═══════════════════
After giving the ok on some structural design choices, Kayl left the artisan’s to finish up today’s work on the new smithy. He looked up at the sky, seeing how late it was getting, and knew Camilla would be coming soon to meet with him. After all today was the day, the day the entire city would be coming together in remembrance. It was a terrible tragedy for many in the city, for Kayl included. Everyday he would visit his fellow students in the infirmary, and everyday he pray to the gods for his sister. Kayl had to count his blessings however, unlike many that this memorial would honor, at least she was still alive. Passing through the main streets until he reached the square, Kayl made his way to the center stage that was still being rebuilt. As he leaned against a newly placed pillar. He looked over to the grounds, seeing the place where him and Camilla had just flabbergasted a large crowd as well as the booth keeper as they won the highest prizes they had. So much fun, and great memories being made, until it started. Shaking his head lightly, Kayl wouldn’t let himself go there, it was already going to be a hard day. Waiting patiently, Kayl crossed his arms lightly and took a breath as he waited for for Camilla so that they could head over to the cemetery together.
