Diane made her way to different parts of the city. She made sure the area was clear and once her men fell in line, she commanded them to get anyone they saw or found out and away if that’s the job they were assigned to. She commanded those that had the task of securing the area and making sure that nothing or no one else decides to come and attack. Thomas kept tabs on the identity of the people who were being rescued as well as the areas that were deemed safe and checked out. Diane requested he moved ahead of her and secure more areas while she surveyed were a lot of the commotion and battling she had passed by were occurring or had already occurred.

In her wolf form, she began to run toward the Square park, glancing around at all of the mess, sniffing about and trying to determine what had been there. As she began to walk to the city square, she noticed all the bodies on the ground. There were many that were fallen. It was one of the harder things to witness as a general, or as a part of the guard in general. It made her worry for Reynard. Was he and Aldaine alright? Maybe she should have gone with them and fought alongside them right after she warned the men at the barracks. Diane suddenly felt something in the pit of her stomach. Something didn’t feel right at all.

Shifting into her human form, she furrowed her brows and tried to figure out just what it was. She didn’t feel this way until she began to think about Reynard. Could something possibly be wrong? She knew she had a job to do, but with enemies already taken down, she had to find Reynard. The female began to walk toward the west side of the city square, praying that her lover and her friend were alright.

"Step back child!" She would say firmly while holding her hand up and making a strange gesture. Suddenly a forceful push would press on Mikhail's chest as the weight of Lelyna would suddenly ease from his arms as she floated towards Q'ara slowly. Q'ara set her on the ground and came to her side looking her over and looking for any obvious wounds. "If her life is truly in danger then stay back and let me work, otherwise something far worse then you can imagine will end the lives of you and both, prince or no prince, your highness..." Q'ara would say with emphasis before continuing to look her over.

She was surprised to see that Lelyna's wounds had already started to heal, but it seemed they weren't completely mended. Placing her hand on Lelyna's forehead, she let the magic flow into her hands, and it started to ease into Lelyna, helping any wounds she might have sustained to heal even faster than they already were. Looking around then, she knew she needed to get Lelyna somewhere safer than this, and brought her hands up to cast another spell. "Velos Noht-Tymah..." She would suddenly say aloud before a burst of mist filled the very air around them. The mist would completely fill even the spaces between them until it obscured the view of Mikhail and Q'ara both, as well as anyone watching from outside the wind barrier. Then, when the mist subsided, they disappeared altogether just before the whirlwind died down as if there was nothing at all. Mikhail would suddenly find himself standing in the infirmary of the Academy, with Q'ara in the room with him, and Lelyna on the floor. Q'ara would then lift er up, and walk into one of the triage rooms, placing her on a bed, and looking over her once more. "The hope the other one is alright..."

Just as he reached the edge of the Harbor, one of the city guards came before him asking about Reynard. Varys was a bit put off by his forwardness, but now wasn’t the time to deal with an unruly guard. Varys clenched his teeth at the question, however, the very thought of discussing it bringing pain to his chest. He didn’t say a word, simply pushed forward, and silently lowered his head as he charged forward and left to the main road with Rhysian in tow. Rhysian’s eyes narrowed for a moment as he passed, looking upon Aldaine with a curious gaze before turning and starting down the main road as well.

                                  [~ @Diane ~ ]

Hurrying into the City Square, the Lord Marshall looked upon the mayhem himself for the first time, his eyes going wide at how much death and destruction the small force managed to dish out before things started to settle. Several of his guards were dead and dismembered along with the many victims of the attack, and in the distance, more soldiers would be seen arriving and starting to take control of the area as they secured the area and started to search for survivors. As Rhysian broke off and started searching the area as well as if he was helping with the search of survivors, Varys could see General Lennox searching the area frantically in the distance. There was no way he could have known, no hint of what she was searching for, but for illogical reasons, he just knew in his gut who she was searching for. Hesitating, Varys took a step back as if he wanted to avoid this at all cost, but he knew he couldn’t. Taking a breath, Varys stepped up to Diane, looking her in the eye once he got her attention. With a heavy heart, and tears in his eyes, he spoke with a slight tremble in his voice. "Diane…" He stepped forward then to speak with Diane as his men secured the entire city slowly but surely to take care of the city as best they could that day.

═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

    – Aldaine enters new RP Day –

Aldaine sat amidst the high rooftops, overlooking the city. Solitude was the only state in which he could find any sense of comfort, as significantly small as it was, and today of all days. Lord Marshal Varys was to lead a march to the cemetery so as to pay respects to those who fell from the attack on the city. With every day that pasted, the pain never faded. It had been two months since then…two months since the horrors of cloaked attackers cutting down innocent civilians left and right, and explosions ringing throughout the city, all in an effort to draw Aldaine himself out of hiding, had occurred. These past two months, Aldaine was unable to feel anything but despair, a despair that could not be satiated with burning alcohol or the single or even multiple night’s pleasure of a harlot. No, nothing could bring any sense of reassurance to the jaguar…there was no consolation, no avoiding his own responsibility for what happened.

A gust of nippy winter air blew past him, interrupting his train of thoughts as he directed his gaze to the streets below. All he saw was the people, still picking up ruins of market stalls and rubble of buildings, noticing the odd family member breakdown into tears here and there, no doubt informed that one of their own had been listed among the dead. Aldaine felt his gaze dim evermore as what he saw reminded him of how the extremists truly affected Eoana...all this pointless destruction and bloodshed…all for one man…all for him. Amidst his remembrance he would feel some twinge of anger at the thought of Gerot. He’d expected his blood to boil at the thought of his old mentor, but instead, Aldaine found himself feeling only…a mild hostility, as though his own dismay had numbed his emotional state. It was almost as if Aldaine hadn’t the energy to feel rage towards the old man, even if deep down, Aldaine had come to despise him for what he did. If Gerot had just told Aldaine what was planned, if Aldaine knew there was going to be an attack on Eoana had he refused to return with Gerot, the jaguar would have went of his own volition, if only to stave off the attack and he wouldn’t have done so without warning Reynard of what was coming…

    Reynard…

It brought the most pain to Aldaine when he thought of the former Captain of the City Guard. “So much for being ‘brothers…’” Aldaine spoke to himself quietly. He remembered Reynard’s speech, insinuating that the two of them had become brothers-in-arms…and all Aldaine did was rush in, without a plan, getting himself captured and getting Reynard killed in the process. At this, Aldaine felt himself instinctually hide his face in his arms, as he curled up slightly on the rooftop where he sat…”It should have been me…not you…Reynard…”. Aldaine was fully curled into a ball at this point, as he spoke to himself once more, the cold winters breeze being the only thing to keep him company…

    ”I couldn’t protect them…I failed again…Jenna…”

After giving the ok on some structural design choices, Kayl left the artisan’s to finish up today’s work on the new smithy. He looked up at the sky, seeing how late it was getting, and knew Camilla would be coming soon to meet with him. After all today was the day, the day the entire city would be coming together in remembrance. It was a terrible tragedy for many in the city, for Kayl included. Everyday he would visit his fellow students in the infirmary, and everyday he pray to the gods for his sister. Kayl had to count his blessings however, unlike many that this memorial would honor, at least she was still alive. Passing through the main streets until he reached the square, Kayl made his way to the center stage that was still being rebuilt. As he leaned against a newly placed pillar. He looked over to the grounds, seeing the place where him and Camilla had just flabbergasted a large crowd as well as the booth keeper as they won the highest prizes they had. So much fun, and great memories being made, until it started. Shaking his head lightly, Kayl wouldn’t let himself go there, it was already going to be a hard day. Waiting patiently, Kayl crossed his arms lightly and took a breath as he waited for for Camilla so that they could head over to the cemetery together.

Camilla had arrived at the edge of the city and made her way quietly to the main area where she knew Kayl would be waiting for her. As she walked and the breeze kept her hair out of her face, she couldn't help but think of that day. Everything was great, and everyone was having so much fun. Then they had to ruin it. Camilla's fist unconsciously clenched tight. Realizing she had done so she released her fist. Camilla had been sure to keep up with her classmates in the infirmary until they were released. Even then sometimes she would go with Kayl to check on his sister, which Kayl asked her to keep to herself. So she would. But even now she remained unconscious, which didn't look good in Camilla's opinion. She truly felt for her dear friend. She couldn't imagine having to watch her sibling lay unsure if today would be their last or now. Just thinking of it sent an ache through her chest.

Arriving in the square Camilla immediately pinpointed Kayl and walked over to him while waving a gloved hand. '' Hey! '' She would say happily. Always excited to see her friend she smiled her sweetest smile at him. Doing her best to maintain a positive attitude despite their current activity today was going to be difficult. But She knew her friends would need her and she would do all she could to be there for them. Standing before Kayl she swayed slightly. '' I'm ready when you are. '' She said her smile never faltering. Kayl would go ahead and lead the way and Camilla would walk right beside him. She knew he was still very torn up about his sister, so she would refrain from bringing it up. Which is why she made sure to train with him daily. She and a rather large group of friends had begun feverishly training day in and day out. Training not just their bodies but also their minds and their raiments. Not really knowing what to say Camilla fiddled with her gloved fingers as the two walked in silence.

but it'll never be enough.
