Erytheia had never met Caedus before, but he had heard of him from others so destined like himself. His presence was almost whispered about by some like some strange thing that wasn't quite understood. Some had hardly seen his face while other claimed that they had seen him fully but only after some event that happened years ago. Those who were there told of happenings deep within the Rift, far into the territory held by the Negaverse.

Erytheia was feeling distant, withdrawn. He wasn't sure why, but searching for Caedus seemed to be the right thing to do now. He'd grown a bit since he was but a timid page. Back then, he certainly wouldn't have sought anyone out like this. Before he had never been to space, never been to anywhere but this earth, blissfully unable to conceive of any elsewhere than here. He hadn't then thought there were those who had been to the stars and, perhaps, beyond.

The squire of Cosmos stood about uneasily. He was told Caedus was pretty cautious and rather secretive too. Would he be unhappy that Erytheia sought him out or offended at being disturbed?

Caedus was a solitary figure for the most part, bundled in his layers of clothes and robes. He did not like to make the first move, and he never ventured further than the last layer of trees. The forest was his safe haven and seemed to be the place he felt safest here in Destiny City—but, then, it was out of the way for most people and gave him plenty of places to hide if he needed it.

It gave him a good vantage point against those that would wander too close, though.

It seemed that most of the faces that wandered into these parts had a purpose—they intended to find him.

He wasn’t certain about this squire, but he didn’t seem to have any ill intention.

It was that alone that drew Caedus from the shadows; he had been wandering around the tree line when he first felt the energy signature and, out of habit or curiosity, he found himself drifting towards it.

The Squire of Cosmos was not difficult to find, but he did not seem like he was trying to enter the forest. Caedus watched him for a moment as he stood before he approached. He was close enough that his silhouette and sharp golden eyes were visible, but still he lingered in the shadows. He cleared his throat—a deep rumble—and asked hesitantly, “Are you lost?”

Are you lost?

For some reason, the question, the aura and the setting reminded him of his meeting with Cosmos some years before. It wasn't anything like it. He had been truly lost then. Now he was in some odd and lonely place between lost and found.

"I am not lost. Well, not today." Was that Caedus? Erytheia looked into the man's eyes and he was, while still strange and shrouded in mystery, as described. "I came looking for you."

Oh. That sounded quite wrong coming from him. He really, really didn't intend to intrude. But how else was he to find the lone star-traveler than like this?

"I really hope I am not intruding. I just wanted to talk." The squire of Cosmos loosened his grip on his glinting staff and tried to relax. "My name is Erytheia. I am one of the Knights of Cosmos."

Caedus regarded the senshi curiously; for a moment he was silent as he watched him.

“No,” he answered after a short pause. “You are not intruding. It is a pleasure to meet you, Erytheia, Knight of Cosmos.”

He bowed his head just slightly in what might have been a courteous introduction.

“May I ask why you were looking for me?”

There was a cautious tone to his words, but there was nothing particularly hostile or ominous about them. His eyes flashed with blatant curiosity, and it seemed he meant no more than what he asked. He didn’t seem like one to beat around the bush if necessary, and given how precious time was to him, he wasn’t going to waste Erytheia’s with pleasantries if there was some important topic at hand.
