He made it all the way out to near his usual "training" area (a park on the edge of town) when he realized something was off. The lights along the park trail were reflecting weirdly in the snow, so he stopped his dash to stand in the white field, staring up. "It's so...sparkly," he muttered, letting the weird diamond snow land on his gloves and face. Nothing seemed off about it all, but he was still pretty amazed and fascinated by it. litian I think Nix could use another senshi contact his age, so I envision Oort finding him here staring up at the sky like a dope, but I don't mind at all if you'd rather use someone else. I need piles of battles still, after all!

It was still snowing with the weird sparkle-snow from earlier when Briar sneaked out later on in order to go and patrol as Oort.
There wasn't that many people out and about as he looked for and found somewhere to power up, although that may have been done to the fact that it was cold–
But Oort wasn't going to let a bit of cold stop him from patrolling as he pulled on the fluffy socks that he had grabbed, followed by the gloves and scarf before trudging out on patrol proper.
He had been going for a bit when he picked up on the other aura - the second aura an Order one and by the feel of it a senshi like himself.
Following it eventually led him to a park that was a little further out than the ones that he tended to go to, where a senshi who looked around his age wearing what looked to be 'frog boots' appeared to be staring up at the sky–
And whilst it was likely that the other had sensed his own aura as he approached, Oort waved as he called out "Hi" before trudging forwards -
just in case.Tolin Kalin I totally don't mind at all - have a tag. I'm kind of assuming that Oort is probably taller as he's 5'8" but haven't mentioned heights just in case :3

litian Nix is 5'4", so yeah, Oort is taller! The weird crystal snowfall had made Nix think of the starseed he had seen, and that had lead him down a mental path of rather more unhappy thoughts than he usually ever even let himself have. Reflecting on loss, and power, and the wish to change things. So engrossed in his reverie was he that he completely missed when another senshi turned up. He really should have noticed. The whole aura thing was pretty hard to miss. Still, he missed it, and the sudden, “Hi!” caused him to jump in surprise. Of course, he was a senshi now, so a jump in surprise was a little more needlessly dramatic than was strictly necessary: He yelped in surprise, and jumped to the side, clearing about 5 feet below him before landing with a sliding thump and facing the guy approaching. He blinked twice, and flushed red at just how stupid that was. “Uh, hi! Sorry, was just, er, thinking about some stuff.” He waved, and smiled, pushing thoughts of death and murderers out of his mind. Mostly. He glanced upward. “You ever seen snow like this? It’s…strange. Cool, I guess, but…” He shrugged, and looked back at the other senshi, taking a few steps back across the snow.

Even though he had called out before starting to walk towards the other senshi it seemed that he had still managed to take the other by surprise - well at least if the other's reaction was anything to go by he had since Oort was pretty sure that leaping up and to the side wasn't a normal reaction and especially not since the leaping had also been accompanied by a yelp–
And he couldn't help the puzzled frown that flitted across his face because whilst he hadn't yelled or anything he didn't think he'd been that quiet.
The puzzled expression was still on his face but fading as the other senshi turned to look at him and by the time that the other teen started speaking it was back to his more normal serious expression.
"It's okay" he said, not saying anything about the flush on the other's cheeks, slim shoulders shrugging a little as he admitted "It was snowing like this earlier on," a thoughtful frown flitting across his face for a moment before he added "And apparently there were people mentioning something about crystal snowflakes last year."
Not that he'd seen any personally although it could have happened after he and Kirra ended up getting bitten by the weird snow bunny things last year.

litian "older," lol. A venerable week and a half, to be sure. biggrin "Really?" Nix asked. "I, uh, only recently moved here, my first winter in Destiny City. I feel like everything around here is crazy, not just soul-stealing negaverse agents." He shook his head. "Anyway, I'm Nix! I was heading to go practice in the woods for a while, but then I noticed the snow was weird, and, well." He shrugged and smiled a bit of a lopsided smile. "Here we are!" Here we are dwelling on thoughts of starseeds falling from the sky to be crushed like...in somebody's fingers, he thought to himself, trying hard to not think about it. He didn't like being unhappy...Hence he smiled. Make it go away.

Oort nodded "Yes" he said simply, before thinking on it and elaborating "I was out earlier with a friend when we saw that some of the snow was sparkling weirdly, but it's better than the bunnies."
He belatedly realised that the other teen probably wouldn't know what he meant by the bunnies, given that he had apparently only moved to the city recently and after a moment added "There were bunnies in last year's snow - weird biting ones that were really hard to see against the snow."
Oort shrugged again slightly before admitting "But I've lived here all my life and weird stuff kind of happens here and not just with the Negaverse - like there was something strange up with some mirrors at the end of the summer and one sucked me and my friends in..."
His voice trailed off because he didn't really want to talk about the mirror incident from back in the summer, because he and his friends had come too close to dying in it and he still sometimes had nightmares about it.
So instead he said "I'm Oort" in part to change the subject and in part because the other senshi had already given his name as Nix and it was only fair that he reciprocate. "Well technically it's Chibi Super Oort - but just Oort's fine because Chibi Super Oort is kind of long."
His reddish eyes gave Nix a curious glance "Are you the senshi of frogs or something?" And it was guess on his part because of the froggy-looking brooch and the other's boots.Tolin Kalin it actually should have been other, but I tend to be derpy with words when I tag late at night

"Nice to meet you, Oort," Nix said with a grin. "I sure am the senshi of Frogs! That obvious, huh?" he adjusted his brooch and picked up a foot briefly. "And 'chibi'? You don't look any younger than me...you're bigger even! And not fat..." It was kind of weird, Nix thought, how much random stuff from anime actually applied to the real deal. Almost like he himself was in one! But, nah, that'd be nuts. Some of the anime stuff just must be inspired by all this, from people who know about it. Way more sensible. "Were the bunnies like those, uh, spiders that were out around Halloween? That was pretty crazy, too. I mean...never seen a spider so big before! Or heard of one...But I haven't seen any since then."

"Actually I was kind of guessing" Oort admitted "And I guess it could have been toads - but your brooch and your boots made me think of frogs more."
He nodded, the nod in part in answer to the chibi question and in part an acknowledgement of the bigger comment - because it was true that out of the two of them that he was taller, even if he didn't really get where not being fat came into anything.
"Yes chibi" he said "Although it's probably because I've been a senshi since I was 11 - so for about 4 years."
He frowned slightly at the question about the bunnies as he considered it for a moment "The spiders were much bigger than the bunnies" he said at last "But they were both weird, but last Halloween it was bats that were the problem and they were super big too."

"Since you were eleven?" Nix echoed. "Wow...that's, uh, wow." he shook his head. "So, you were a little kid fighting these," he gestured vaguely, "things and people out in the world? Incredible..." Maybe if Nix had been one that long, he could have...No. Don't think about that. "I've only had these powers for, uh, like a month! Guess it's not an age thing, huh?" he tugged on his ear idly, and regarded Oort a moment. "So, I'm pretty obviously frogs. You're, uh...hmm." he shrugged. "I dunno, actually." He put a finger on his own forehead, and smiled a bit. "With that thing up there, uh, locks, maybe?"

Oort shrugged again "I'm not the only chibi" he said, because he wasn't and some - like his friend Euporie - were younger than he'd been when he'd first started "But no it doesn't look to be an age thing."
Whilst he hadn't mentioned just what he was the senshi of to Nix, it hadn't been because Oort had any particular issues with sharing the information, but rather because he honestly hadn't thought it, in part because he kind of thought that the keys would make it obvious what he was the senshi of–
But maybe it wasn't so obvious - at least not based on the other's guess.
"Actually I'm the senshi of keys" he said. "Although my magic isn't really that flashy, but there is a senshi of locks."
He'd met the other senshi once, the meeting a chance one whilst out on a different patrol.

“Ohh, keys!” Nix said, nodding. “Yeah, I guess that makes more sense…There sure are a lot of senshi out there, aren’t there?” He scratched his head, wondering just how many different ‘spheres’ there really were. He smiled and shrugged. “Ah well, whatcha doin’ out here? You going to train in the woods too, or, uhm…” Nix waved a hand around vaguely, “Off to patrol around for bad things?" He paused long enough to take a breath, and then a thought struck him, which he immediately put to words. "And why does everybody do that, anyway? Every senshi I’ve met seems to be doing that, but, uh, it doesn’t seem very, you know, organized. Like, what if everybody’s clustered around one block, and three blocks over nobody’s watching as a youma eats somebody?” That was perhaps a bit sudden to blurt out to somebody he didn’t know, but the thought just occurred to Nix, and he just wanted to say it to anybody…And Oort was on hand.

It was true that there were a lot of senshi out there - and that was even before one got into corrupted senshi and dark mirror senshi - however it didn't look like Nix was looking for a comment from him and so Oort settled for a simple nod.
He shook his head when asked if he'd come out to train, before nodding when asked next if he was out to patrol.
"Yes I am" he said simply, adding "And I don't know why other people do it" because it wasn't as if he could speak for the other senshi out there "But it's not like I can do anything by just staying at home."
He shrugged "And the auras kind of give you a clue about who's out there" he thought about it with a slight frown before adding "Or what" because youma gave off auras too. "So if there's a lot of Order auras then you can always pick somewhere else to patrol."
He frowned again, this time more thoughtful "Though generally if there's a lot auras clustered together - then it usually means that something big is happening and not a good big happening."

Make everywhere a safer place? I mean, I know that whole 'terrorist' thing means, uh, the bad guys talk to the news better than us, but...there's just no Order to it all, ya know?" He shrugged. "Sorry, I'm just rambling about stuff. Want someone to go with you? I wouldn't mind seeing how, uh, a proper senshi does patrols...if you'd have me, of course!" It wasn't as if he hadn't fought anything before. He'd fought a few different things! Youma, other youma, a nega...yeah, he could do that, but he still didn't feel...completely confident in the idea of "patrols" in spite of that. litian It was a nice Christmas, I thought. smile Anyway, go together, go alone, I think this is getting to a reasonable end point for the RP. No need to drag on forever, and all...Could do a patrol/battle one by digging up somebody else, I suppose!

Or at least not from what he'd seen based on the few times that he had been amongst a lot of senshi and knights.
"And sure I'd be happy to patrol with you for a bit, we can scan each other into senshi phone contacts too if you want?" Oort made it a question, leaving it up to Nix on whether to take him up on the offer.

It was tempting to ask about what happened when people tried being organized before…but Nix decided he’d asked enough questions for now. Something to talk about later, perhaps, or bug Themi. So he just nodded thoughtfully on the topic. “Oh yeah! Phones!” he said, and pulled his unsurprisingly green phone out of nowhere. “Good idea!” With that agreed to, contacts were shared. More contacts was always a good thing, by his reckoning. With that out of the way, he said, “Alright! Lead on. I promise to not constantly ask questions…” It was always a temptation, and he was sure to ask some things along the way, but…when looking for trouble, one shouldn’t make too much noise, right?
