User ImageUser ImageClover could feel it, that uneasy feeling, it was coming and was going to be close, as in right next to the castle close. She had to find herself in a good hiding spot before it came, Some place that she hopped no one, would find her.

Emma grew worried when the storm had come, it felt a bit odd how quickly it came. With the lighting the castle seemed to rattle and shake. She held onto her school books, and happened to pass Dorian in the hall and went over to him. "Have you seen Clover?" she asked. "She has a tendency to disappear during thunderstorms." she explained quietly.

User Image Dorian glanced up sharply from the notes he'd been going over for his previous class and frowned at Emma's question.

"I saw her in class, but she disappeared after. Rather quickly when I come to think about it. Do thunderstorms bother her?" he asked half worried about Clover.

"I'll go look for her. This storm is only going to get worse, she shouldn't be alone." he said shoving his notes into his bag and going down the hall in the direction he had seen her disappear. "Clover, where are you? " he called and checked in the rooms that he could open the doors to.

Emma nodded, "I'd keep looking , but I have a class shortly." she said before continuing on in the direction she had been.

Clover looked up when the door of the room opened, Then she saw Dorian. "D... Dorian what are you doing here?" she asked trying to hid the fear in her voice as she backed away from the door and bumped the far wall. She gasped and cringed at the lighting strike. She slid down to a sitting position and covered her ears.

Dorian waved Emma off, knowing that if she had been able to she would have helped him look for Clover. He didn't want her to get into trouble for missing a class. It was lucky he had a free hour before his next class. Though depending on how much help Clover needed, he might just skip a class to help her out.

Dorian was a bit surprised to find Clover looking so afraid inside the room.

"I was looking for you, are you okay?" He asked with concern. He could hear the fear in her voice and then saw her reaction to the lightning.

"Hey," He said and moved to kneel in front of her. "It's going to be okay." He put his hands lightly on her knees. "This really isn't the best place to go if you want to avoid lightning. I know a room that is better." He said softly.

Clover looked away from him, "I..." she tried but her normal self was just not around. Just like always, with the lighting basically on the castle she was practically crippled with fear. She also hated this particular vulnerability that she had. She felt that if anyone found out about this fear, that she'd never let it down. "It's.... n..not just the." she flinched from another strike. "It's not just the lighting I'm hiding from." she said in a low quivering voice.

She could feel it the hairs on her skin standing up. "No where is safe. Best I can do is hide from eyes." she whispered. She hated the thought of someone seeing her has a weak Hufflepuff. Most Huffles were seen that way.

Dorian listened silently as Clover started to explain. He didn't say anything about her reaction to the lightning storm. While he'd never seen her react in fear before, he wasn't going to make a big deal about it. Everyone had something they were afraid of.

He was surprised that she actually didn't want others to think badly about her. He had thought she didn't care what people thought, that she was fearless. Apparently there was something that did bother her. "Hey, It's okay. You don't have to hide from me," He moved to sit next to her.

"Everyone has something they want to be kept secret, that they don't want others to know about. I'm your friend, I'm not about to say anything. Though, perhaps this isn't the best room to get away from the storm." He said glancing over at her.

He reached over and moved some stray hairs off of her face and smiled at her for a moment. "Do you want me to show you a better spot?"

Clover blushed slightly from embarrassment, "I know I... I didn't want to burden you with.... my fears." she said flinching with each strike. It was stupid she knew that, but she helped her friends she didn't need help, normally. She did ask for it when it came to schooling but she couldn't for a fear. "Being like this is just embarrassing I hate being like this, but there's not anything I can do to stop it." She felt the tears down her cheeks but just kept her eyes closed.

"I know, it isn't just... " she sighed not knowing how to make a good rebuttal. "Different." she said quietly.

She was still shaking like a leaf in the wind. "You know one?" she asked.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 19, 2017 1:09 pm

"How would it be a burden? I'm your friend aren't I? I'm not going to tell anyone about it. You know me better than that. I want to help you, if you'll let me." Dorian told her. He moved closer and wrapped his arm around her shoulder pulling her up against him. "Its okay," He said softly and pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the tears off her cheeks gently. "Well maybe if you had something to take your mind off the storm that might help." He suggested.

Once her cheeks were dried off he put the handkerchief into her hand so she could use it later. "Well there are all sorts of fears, some stranger than others. It's not like you're going to get over it right away. It's going to take time." He told her gently.

"I do, want me to show you?" He asked rubbing his hand over her arm gently. He slowly stood up and then held a hand down to her so he could help her to her feet.

Clover let him pull her into him so he could comfort her. "I know but, I'm the comfort stone. I'm the one people go to," she said "Being able to feel it doesn't help." she murmured

She knew he was right what zoologist of any type couldn't go out into a little storm, a witch hat was scared of lighting seemed silly but she still couldn't get over what she happened to see when she was just a tike. "Not unless you know how to erase just one memory and not all of them." she spoke quietly.

She just nodded her head and took his hand and stood up. Then another flash happened making her jump and because of the movement going towards him she ended up unintendedly kissing him. "Oooo No Dorian that wasn't." she said now not only scared of the lighting but what Dorian would think of the accidently kiss.

"Well there are times when even the strongest need support." Dorian told her softly. His brow crinkled not understanding what she meant by feeling it.

He caught her soft spoken words before a loud crack of thunder sounded. He wasn't sure that he could help her in that way. "Well, I personally can't. Though there are adults that probably could. Though that would mean you'd have to let them look through your memories to target it." He said thoughtfully.

Dorian was rather stunned at her quick jump and the feel of her lips against his own. Though she had pulled back and looked horrified at what had happened, Dorian had the oddest yearning to kiss her again.

"It's okay. It wasn't that bad. I am kind of glad it happened with you." He said softly. "Come on, let's go." He said and reached down to take her hand in his.

He led her down several halls and past all sorts of rooms. It was on their third hallway when he spied the glowing light under a doorway and moved over to open the door for her.

She knew Dorian was right, but for some reason she didn't want to admit it, because she was embraced at how spineless she became because of electrical storms.

She knew it was unlikely that he knew how to remove just one memory from her mind, she didn't know anyone ether. Lighting always scared her ever since she was little. For some reason she thought getting rid of that memory she would be better.

When he said that it was okay and took her hand to lead her the realization that she just had her fist kiss with a boy, with one of her closest friends, hit her. AND HE LIKED IT!!!! Because of having gotten scared she hadn't gotten to enjoy her first kiss, with someone, as much as she had hoped.

Besides trying to not show people that she jumped some with each strike, she really wasn't paying attention to where Dorian was leading her. Her free hand traced her own lips. That was defnently not the romantic setting to which she had wanted for that first kiss.

She was pulled from her thoughts when Dorian suddenly slowed down then she realized he was tracing his steps a little. When he opened the door, it was cozy and had the sound of instrumentals playing. she remembered a chapter in one of her History books about a room that appeared when needed. "I... Is this the Room of Requirement?" she asked softly.

Dorian couldn't help but notice that Clover had gone quiet. They walk down the hallway hand in hand trying to avoid as many people as they could. Dorian kept glancing over at her every few moments, wondering if perhaps she liked him more than a friend.

While Dorian and kissed a few other girls before he couldn't stop thinking about kissing Clover back. The others hadn't been anywhere near as special or dear to him as Clover was. But how would she take that? Would she think it weird that he liked her more than a friend? Or would she want him to kiss her? It was starting to confuse him and make him feel odd. Was it possible for them to remain friends after a kiss had happened?

His head was starting to hurt over all these questions racing through it. A part of him was scared that changing the definition of their relationship might be a bad idea. Another part of him felt like it could open up more possibilities for them.

He glanced over at her question and followed her into the room. "Yeah it is, we had to go around a few times before it showed up, " he explained. He shut the door and glanced around the room. "Looks nice and cozy, "

Clover nodded, "Yeah it kind of reminds me of the house common room." she admitted. "Warm and inviting, Well I guess the other houses would be somewhat like that." she said with a bit of a forced laugh. "How did you find it your first time, and knew what it was?" she asked.

She seemed to wait a bit. She knew that there had been a strike outside, she could feel it which felt like something crawling across her skin, but it wasn't as intense nor was the sound, making it seem it was even farther then it truly was. She then took a deep breath and sat down on the love seat next to the happy fire burring in the fireplace. "I guess I should explain why I'm acting so.... not me." she said softly. She opened her mouth a few times before closing it again, before she felt like she must have looked like a codfish, and pulled her legs up onto the seat and hugged her knees and put her head on her knees. "I was really little, I was outside in the rain. I don't remember why, or if it came out of nowhere, I hate the rain because it forces us to stay inside. But lightning struck a tree right in front of me. Ever since then lightning has always made me act... like a spineless jellyfish. I'm better when it's farther away, but I think something happened to me that day because when it's really close, my skin .... tingles for lack of better word. like I can feel the pre strike." She finally managed to get out. "It's stupid since magic basically acts similar to lighting." She dabbed her eyes again with the handkerchief that he had put in the hand he had lead her with.

She looked at it in her hands it was quite soft, and smooth. "Is it silk or satin?" she asked she knew his family was quite wealthy so it was most likely silk. As much as she disliked Grand-mum hearing the same things over and over again would worm it's way in to her subconscious memory, like different type fabric. She wanted to smell it, but realized it might have seemed weird.

Had she been honest with herself she did have a small crush on Dorian, because of just how he was. But she often had gotten the feeling he hadn't see her the same way. So when she jumped and kissed him, it was truly unintentional. She didn't know why she had told Dorian. She knew she could trust him but she also knew that he had his own troubles that were worse then her own. After all his mother was a permeant resident of the hospital, other then that she didn't know exactly what kind of condition Mrs. Devereaux was in. Just that it was so bad there was no real helping her. She also knew he didn't get to see his dad often when on holiday, that his family had homes in both New Orleans and France. Sure it made it seem like Dorian was a pampered rich boy, but he was more in touch with the real world and never was one to flaunt what he had. But he wasn't the one who was rich even if he was part of the main Deveraux line, it was his family's money. She wondered if he'd fallow in his father's business steps or not. Heck the fact he was an heir could have meant that he was already going to be married to someone, spoken for all she knew. Though he never spoke of having a betrothal, then again it was possible that his parents set it up without his knowing. Knowing Dorian he would more then likely try to fight an arranged marriage. Still Dorian had a lot more on his plate, which was one of the many reasons she didn't want to add her troubles to her friends burdens

Dorian smiled at Clover's description of the room being like her house's common room. "It must have picked up from you what you needed," He said thoughtfully. "Well I can't say the Slytherin common room is this inviting, though it is pretty interesting." He said with a shrug. "I found it in my third year when I was trying to find Remy," He replied with a serious look on his face. "He was in there comforting some second year girl who had just lost her mother. Somehow he always finds people who are going through rough things. I talked to her for a bit and then helped her find an adult to talk to about it. I still talk to her every now and then."

Dorian moved in to sit down on a bench across from Clover, sensing she needed a bit of space. He waited patiently, gazing into the fireplace as she started speaking. He turned to look at her after she started speaking after a long pause. He couldn't help but feel a wave of empathy come over him for her. Witnessing something like that at a young age would have made him jumpy he couldn't help but think. His eyes grew worried when she mentioned that she had an adverse reaction whenever lighting was close by.

"I wish I knew something that could help you, it sounds very frightening to me. If I had experienced seeing something like that, I would probably be scared myself. Being afraid of something isn't a bad thing. Everyone has different fears, some may seem silly to others but they are still fears. If you ever need someone when this happens, I'll be there." He told her softly.

"It might be simlar but lightning is raw power that can't be controlled. Well weather witches try to, but even they can't completely control it. The unpredictable role of nature is kind of a reminder that even witches and wizards can't control everything, and are just as mortal as Muggles." Dorian said after a moment of thought.
He glanced up when she asked about the handkerchief he had given her. "I wouldn't really know, I think satin." He replied with a shrug. "One of my many girl cousins made it for me for a Christmas present a last year. I'd have to ask her."

Dorian had no idea what Clover was thinking about, but it looked like it was something rather deep and intense. "So, Clover," He said shifting a bit on the bench seat. "Can I sit next to you?"

Clover felt bad for the young girl, "Poor thing." she sniffled a little, "Loosing a loved one like that," she admitted softly

She blushed some at his words of comfort but didn't know what to say in reply. He was doing his best to help her feel better, and tell her that she wasn't being silly. Even that magic and lighting weren't truly the same. "Thanks," she finally managed to say. She somewhat felt like it was someone else who said it.

"I see, it's so finely made." she said, the only real reason she had asked in the first place was to try to get her mind off the lighting but it was kind of forced.

Her cheeks were still a bit red from her embarrassment so it wasn't going alert him that they started to redden again at his question. "Yeah, I'd like that." she admitted softly.
