Quote: Recent rainfall has kept temperatures cool but one of the parks can’t handle all the water draining into it. The water has turned it into a strange swamp and, in addition to the terrible smell, people have claimed to see strange floating lights—or, weirder—a strange, hulking figure that seems right at place in the swamp. Some have described it as being seven feet tall, covered in moss and weeds and mud and who knows what else; while no one has been able to confirm this, if you venture too close you might wind up observing something strange, yourself. The park no longer feels safe and if you wander too close you may feel hateful eyes upon you. You may even wind up chased out by a monstrous swamp monster, but if you try to approach him or interact otherwise, he seems to disappear. It’s probably best just to stay away from the park until the water dries up, just in case. Slipping from his bathroom mirror at home into Mirrorspace and then out of it through the mirror in the park bathrooms was about the only way that Sinope was able to get out these days. His parents had been angry enough when he came home one night choking up liquid ash with strangle marks around his neck and no explanation. They’d been livid when, after grounding him due to that incident, he somehow managed to up and disappear for a week and a half to who knew where. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he hadn’t had the decency to fill them in on what had happened either time. They were understandably frustrated, being worrying, loving parents. So, with nothing left to do, they confined him to his room and placed him under house arrest except to go to school.
Fortunately for Sinope, he could still walk through mirrors to escape and return to his house without detection. But once he slipped out of the park bathrooms into the park, a horrid smell assailed his nostrils and he recoiled in disgust. It took him a moment to adjust, breathing through his mouth and pulling his fuku up over his nose, before venturing further to discover the source of the odor. It wasn’t long before he discovered the peculiar swamp that had appeared.
“What the hell...?” he wondered aloud, stepping closer and picking his way carefully through the soggy marsh. “This definitely wasn’t here before. Uh…” Feeling eyes on him, Sinope glanced over his shoulder. “Hello?” Panic began to stiffen his limbs as he whipped around, his fear becoming more and more evident with each frantic motion, though he struggled to keep his voice, at least, under his control. “Someone there?”

Quote: During the day, Roderick had explored the rather many parks of Destiny city with his beloved dog, Staccato. Live seemed pretty on the up and up as of recent, given the fact that he found himself with a new roommate these days, and that so many of his worries seemed to be put to rest after having found the once-youmafied young man. It was as if everything that troubled him was calmed and toned down and everything was wonderful again. And yet, as soon as those thoughts came about, chaos began to roam free once again.
Not chaos chaos, but the kind that disturbed his everyday life. And this time it seemed to be an outstanding amount of muck and gunk that seemed to come from nowhere. Roderick wasn’t nearly foolish enough to explore the area with Staccato, but he DID decide to come back and investigate later, once the dog was left behind to snuggle up with the man who now lived with him. He powered up as Manu after ducking behind a house that wasn’t his own, and went off to investigate, lying to his roommate and saying he was just off to get some groceries. No need to worry the already easily startled young man.
Upon reaching that sloppy marsh from earlier in the day, he was greeted by the sound of someone panicking a bit, looking around just as he had done not too long ago. They felt like… Not Negaverse but chaos nonetheless. Luckily for them (or lucky for him, since he was only a page as well), Manu bore no ill-will towards the young person who was gazing worriedly around himself, and he did his best to approach them calmly and carefully.
“Are you alright?” He asked, trying to keep his deep voice soft and low as to not startled the boy into a frenzied state that might cause an attack. “It feels like something’s out there, doesn’t it? Do you think it might be a youma?” Quote: Sinope was just able to make out a tall, hulking figure and trying not to panic when a voice emerged from the stranger to ask if he was alright. Even so, the young senshi wasn’t sure he trusted them. They had an Order signature, but that didn’t necessarily mean they wouldn’t attack him. After having learned from Altea that people’s energy could seem one way and turn out to be another, though, he also learned not to place too much faith in auras radiated. One never knew when they would change. The purple-bearded man that appeared before him seemed gentle enough, but Sinope instinctively took a wary step back.
“Yeah...maybe,” he murmured, half wondering if the whole thing was a trick meant to lure him into a false sense of security. Maybe whatever it was wanted him to think there was something out there when it was actually right here in front of him. “I’m Super Sailor Sinope,” he stated, raising his chin as he tried to sound confident. At least if nothing else, he had his sights on someone and wasn’t wandering around expecting to be jumped. “Dark Mirror Senshi of Slyness. Who are you?”
Now that he thought of it, Sinope recalled how he’d heard some of his schoolmates mention sighting a swamp creature around this very park. He hadn’t known what they had been talking about at the time since he knew of no swamp and had chalked up their rumors to their overactive imaginations. Now that he had seen the swamp for himself, however, the concept of a swamp creature going after people in the park seemed a lot more plausible. And while the man before him wasn’t exactly the full seven feet that the monster had been claimed to be, 6’2” was pretty darn close.

Manu immediately noticed how Sinope seemed weary of him, and he took a half step back, resting on his heels to try to be a least intimidating as possible. He knew he was a big man, and knew that some people found issue with that, but he did honestly mean well for things.
“I’m Manu, page of Chronos. It’s a pleasure to meet you, though I don’t really think you should be out here right now. It always seems like around any sort of Holiday that strange things start to happen, and this muck isn’t any different.” His gaze went from the young man to the swamp behind him, eyes scanning to see if that creature was still out there. When none was found, he sighed slightly and found himself relaxing a bit more.
“I came here tonight since I noticed that there was a swamp out of nowhere, and I wanted to see if there was a non-magical reason for it. I suppose it was raining alot recently but that couldn’t explain all of.. this.” His hand made a sweeping motion over all the water and grass that was hidden under it. “I mean, this isn’t Florida after all. Do you think It might be magic?”
There wasn’t really and reason as to why Manu lingered around after his greeting… After having found Bazzite again, he seemed far more relaxed than he had in months. He’d chalk it up to wanting to make more friends and allies.
