Zen could only wonder where to start as he looked helplessly at the things in his father’s office. Deep rich dark colors decorated a very gentlemanly retreat with Victorian like couches and furniture. Everything was a little messy with papers strewn around every which way, he could not really remember a time when it had been this bad, a possible result from the recent struggle.

With a sigh he picked a flyer for the circus from the floor, paused and stared at it before tighten his grip on it with a sigh. Quietly he started picking up the papers and putting them into a pile to separate later. A small envelop sat nestled between the couch cushions all ready to be sent.

“Hm…” he read through it curiously and whistled up a miniature carriage that fit in the palm of his hand horses in all.”Can yo- oh wait I really should tell them ..” he cut off with a fluster of his hand as he gently put the carriage on the table and took a new piece of parchment and quickly scribbled an added letter that he placed with the old. “Sorry for the wait, please send this to the recipient “ he said with a smile as he touched the carriage with the letter and it disappeared, a few moments later and the carriage did as well. “I wonder ..” he muttered thoughtfully a hand to his chin as he moved about cleaning out Tendren’s old office.

The small carriage appeared in Kylar's house in Hinale above the TV currently showing news of Criel's explosion. One of the horses neighed, trying to get the attention of the occupant as the letter reappeared and floated toward the ground.

Greetings Kylar

I do not know the details of your relationship with my father Tendren but I regret to inform you that he had misstep in his duties and will unlikely be unable to receive or send any more letters. This was the last thing he has written for you and I wish it is of some help in what you are looking for.

Respectfully yours
Zen Alastor

Quote:
Greetings Kylar,

With each passing second, a war wages on among the races. It's hard to escape this fact alone, that if things continue, there will be nothing left. As someone who has been a key role to the events that have unfolded, you understood what was at stake before anyone else did and took actions to stop it.

You've seen it. Experienced it. You've been so valiant to protect those that you've held dear even when they could not see the real dangers. I, more than anyone, can understand your plight in all this. But you are certainly not alone. There are others that have felt the burdens of these events and have in their own way tried to stop what you have seen so clearly.

It's why I have reached out to you. To ask you consider joining the ranks of the elders. I want to give you the opportunity to become stronger, to be able to protect the ones you hold dear, and destroy the enemies that have continued to threaten our race as a whole and guide those that have also lost their way. We need people, people that can see clearly and be ruthless when needed. Because as you know, if we can quell this war before it goes on any further, we can put an end to the tragedies that befall the ones we love. To our race. With your aid, we can certainly bring safety to meta kind, and with safety, comes the prosperity of your family.. and everyone else's.

But it is up to you to take on this task. The trials you will face will not be easy tasks, but I have the utmost faith in your success. You just need to decide for yourself what it is you need to strengthen in your search for an elevated position of stability. To transcend into a state of mind that would allow you to share your power and guidance with those that need it, just as much as you need this. To lead the ones that are blind to the realities of this world who have been so easily betrayed. You are the only one who can decide what it is that you lack to achieve this.

Whether it be ….

The rest of the letter looks hazy, even shifting slightly like a shadow.

Kylar was in the throws of laughter when the carriage first appeared, the images of Criel burning on the television distracting from the stack of books piled around the couch. Several historical texts of the great war, most focusing on the true races and their heroes or in the case of these books since they were from Criel, Villains. When a sound not from the television appeared in the room, Kylar slammed into the back of the couch tipping it back slightly. His hand reached quickly for a chain tucked between the cushions while he looked around desperately for the source, scrambling to his feet knocking aside most of the books in the process.

A short moment later, he spotted the tiny horse and carriage that was sitting upon his television. The tiny carriage was odd, but even more so was the full sized letter that seemed to appear from it once Kylar noticed it. The horses were moving, so they were alive or at least animated, but something that small moving was surprising. Was this a message from Yoko, perhaps she had found him again.

Kylar watched the carriage suspiciously as he knelt down to pick up the letter making sure it didn't have any other surprises for him, especially the kind that hurt. He stepped back behind the couch before opening the letters scanning them both for a moment before rereading them in earnest. The second letter, the one from this boys father intrigued him. It seems he knew of the actions Kylar had taken, if he was reading it correctly it hinted to knowing he had been the one to murder the last leader of Criel and that even now he was looking into a way to gain power. The bottom of the letter was a bit of a disappointment however, it seemed to be missing the information he was currently searching for.

Leaving the room for a moment, Kylar returned with a small piece of paper and a quick note written on it. He approached the carriage cautiously held the note out towards it asking a question, but not entirely expecting a response given the miniature horses. "Is there a way you can take this back to the sender?" He moved slightly closer touching the carriage with the paper not sure if it could do such a thing or not, but either way perhaps the contact would make it leave, with or without the note.

Note

Greetings Zen,

I regret to hear about your fathers missteps, but if I may would like to inquire into the meaning of him unlikely being able to send or receive letters. The unlikely makes it seem as if he is unable to receive them because someone is preventing this, and lacks a certain finality. So what I would likely to know is the current condition of your father or possibly his whereabouts.

Respectfully yours,
Kylar Gatt

The letter disappeared once it touched the top of the carriage and matching pair of white horses turned and trotted off, fading with each step until they were completely gone.

It was just a few minutes later that the hint of cinnamon wafted through the house at the same time reports started detailing how the fire had started up a massive forest fire right alongside Criel's remains.

Kylar seemed amused that the sending of the letter actually worked, or perhaps it was the fact that the potential threat was gone now. He returned his focus to the Television briefly before the smell filling the room drew his attention, he wasn't baking anything so there was no reason for the smell to be filling the house, unless there was some other intruder? He retrieved the chain once more and began searching the house for the source of the smell and the possible intruder.

The smell slowly intensified and seem to be coming from outside the front door but outside was nothing even I felt the area outside smell of cinimmon too. A few people were sniffing the air in curiosity but kept going on their way.

On TV there was another special report of another bombing this time at Sanctuary.

On the letter the shadowing cleared

Whether it be leadership then head to the city of ISS Banor and look for the gang of Dark Ink. Their leaders and a few of their members meet their end to humans in the city of Norcrest and rest of their members are currently lost.

Acceptance of self, head toward Aldas and wait at the bus stop heading toward the remains of Sanctuary. An old enemy you will meet.

Friendship, if you pick this option head to the burnt out remains of Sanctuary and look for information on Tendren. A powerful ally if you play you cards right.

Kylar followed the smell outside looking around for a moment before giving up and returning indoors. He returned to the couch checking the letters once more trying to figure out why the name of the father sounded familiar. It was then he heard the news report for the explosion at Sanctuary, looking up for a moment as the name finally dawned on him. Tendren was one of the leaders of Sanctuary, or at least he had been a teacher of sorts. He hadn't met him, but he had heard of him so how was it this man knew so much about him?

After a while he glanced back down at the letter trying to gather some clues that perhaps he had missed in Tendrens letter and was surprised to find the shadows no longer there. Reading the letter again he smirked, the burnt out remains of Sanctuary, just who was this Tendren and how did he know about the explosion before it had happened, especially while he was unavailable somehow. Perhaps he held the clue to gaining the power that Kylar sought.

Taking the letters with him, Kylar stepped towards the door with a grin. This could prove interesting, his first real lead to the power that eluded him. He locked the door and began heading towards the bus stop. Traveling to Sanctuary, this would be a long trip, but perhaps he would run into some familiar faces along the way.

There was no trouble getting to the buses or even during the trip down to Aldas, at the bus stop a black cloud of smoke could be seen in the far distance along with a blockade in front of the road heading in the direction of Sanctuary. The buses from Aldas to Sanctuary were canceled for obvious reason and the sound of sirens could still be heard in the distance from the direction of the meta safe place.

There were very few people around and all of them heading elsewhere, no one was paying him any attention, many were huddling in the small store to avoid the smoke and acidic fumes muttering quietly that it was karma for what happened in Criel.

It was still possible to walk there and nothing was blocking the skies other than the cloud of smoke themselves.

Kylar looked around at the people heading in random directions, frowning at the what they deserve comment. The Metas at Sanctuary were innocent, they didn't deserve this. If not for the possibility he would need the element of surprise he would have made an example of those that felt the bomb at Sanctuary was justified. Instead he walked away from Aldas slowly, as much as he wished to hurry the skies would only draw attention to himself.

He glanced over his shoulder to ensure he wasn't being followed or watched. Once he was sure no-one was watching, he turned towards the smoke and began the trek towards Sanctuary.

As he got closer to the site he could see the line of emergency vehicles making a blockade for what was really happening inside. There were places where the fire had been cordon off and allowed to burn as a cover for the group of military officers moving through the rubble. There was a pile of bodies off to the side and there was some commotion as they found someone alive, followed by the discharge of a gun and someone pulling out a little child with black hair, blue eyes and a very familiar star.

There was another discharge discharge of fire as something hit Kylar in the shoulder. Someone was shooting at Kylar, hidden somewhere in the smoke, cars and trees below.

It only took a second to come to a quick, if not terrible conclusion as he took in the scene. The emergency vehicles on the scene were cover for a military attack on the Sanctuary. This was so much worse than a single explosion, they were exterminating the innocent. As if that wasn't enough to anger him, one of the soldiers was dragging a child that made everything go red as he took in their appearance.

Kylar nearly lost control of himself for a moment as his aura flared up to maximum. The bullets embedded into his Vinyl flesh, the pain not registering as he tore open a hole in the world. The distance between himself and the man with the child was closed instantly. Kyla reached forward for the man's rifle attempting to pull it from his control before turning it back on him and depressing the trigger until it stopped firing.

The man jerk in surprise and shouted an alarm, fighting with Kylar over the gun. His grip slipped and he stumbled back, growling as he move to try and get the gun before Kylar got it in position and failed. He was shoot multiple times falling to the ground dead by the boy. The boy was staring wide eyed at the sky, not breath or anything at all.

Others were already moving toward Kylar shooting at him without hesitation as they just tried to get him down in a hail of bullets. The sanctuary itself look like it was hit by a bomb though but all the fires has been put out. Deep inside was another truck with the words Haven wheeling a very dead Nova to the truck, those were ignore the fire fight entirely.

Kylar looked down at the boy becoming even more upset. He screamed outward, his eyes burning bright with rage. Another portal opened beside Kylar allowing him to reappear behind one of the men transporting Nova. Swinging his arm forward as he produced a chain, Kylar attempted to strangle the man by getting the chain around his neck and kicking his knee inward as he pulled.

"A Shadow, repeat a Shadow meta. Chain and teleport. Be warn. " Someone said from behind the line of shooting military figures.

The figure Kylar teleported behind gasped in surprised as he was grabbed, reaching up to grab the chain as he fell. The second man let go of the gurney and backed away as the military opened fire on Kylar even with his victim.

"Sh** Incoming! A second one behind us! " the same voice shouted as a masked female meta with black hair and short shirt and pants leaped onto one human and electrocuted them. She was screaming, taking hits but continuing to rip into the line of military people, badges of stags, lions, owls ... and others could be seen here and there.

Kylar grimaced as he saw Andy here. Why was she here, why was she fighting? He had been pushing her away to try and keep her safe so why was she now fighting these men? He screamed at her, "Get out of here you crazy b***h, they will kill you!"

Using the soldier as a human shield he moved closer to the vehicle marked by Haven. He dropped the man as he got behind the truck. He rolled it over pressing hard into the side of it so that he could access the framework beneath it to get a better grasp on it. Picking up the truck he quickly searched for the largest group of soldiers and hurled it in their direction trying to put up a wall between Andy and them while hurting any unable to get out of the way quickly enough.
