Drexl leaned back against the window frame. He and Lixes were thoroughly lectured, then grounded when their Father's were done with them. He took a deep breath as he thought over things. He had to talk to Lixes. He wanted to know why his little brother was so angry with him. He got up to walk to where he knew the younger to be. Watching Lixes for a few moments, trying to gather his thoughts.

Lixes gave a bit of a sigh as he sat on the windowsill in the room he shared with his brother. He wasn't allowed to go outside for a while and when they finally allowed him to go out it would be with a chaperone that wasn't Pyre since the radaku wouldn't be able to stop him completely when it came to the things he wanted to do these days. It seemed that being a hero wasn't something that his family wanted for him, deeming it to be 'too dangerous' at the moment. It was something that he didn't understand, the idea that it was too dangerous to be a hero. That was exactly when a hero was needed!
Giving a bit of a sigh he leaned against the side of the open window frame, starring out across the village. He knew that he could probably leave if he wanted to but at the same time he would get a similar lecture to last time, a longer grounding period, and having to deal with is parents giving him that disappointed look. All of which was enough to add up and make it so that he didn't want to risk it. Not now, not when nothing was happening.
If someone needed help then sure, he'd definitely leave, but for now he'd stay still. Better then risking starting a war with his parents over the situation.

It was with a heavy sigh that Drexl walked into his room with his brother. He sat on his bed as he stared at Lixes a moment. Then flopped onto his back. "I didn't tell them why my hand was broken. I did say I fully intended to let it remain injured to await their return. That got me a good lecture." he rose said formerly injured hand to examine it. "Lix...you are a hero. I know that. You just...can't do things on your own all the time."

Lixes turned to look over at Drexl for a moment, then forward again, giving a nod of his head, "It's good you didn't chose to leave it injured, that'd of been stupid." How would Drexl have fought using a two handed weapon like a spear if he left one of his hands all battered and broken after all? The answer was he'd either fight poorly or not at all... and that wasn't something that Lixes wanted, not int he least bit. Giving a little snort he said in response to his brother's words, "I can and will." He had to do things on his own, it was the only real option... though presently it was an option made a lot more difficult because the accursed Dretch were putting a cramp on things. How was he supposed to become a hero when he wasn't even allowed to leave the village? He supposed simple tasks like getting cats out of trees and helping people carry groceries home was always an option? Boring options but at least he'd still be helping people, right?

Lixes' response was met with a long heavy sigh from his elder brother. Drexl slowly moved to sit down before he lost his temper again with his younger idiot of a brother. He rubbed his temples before he looked up to the other again. Seriously? Did Lixes not learn? There were reasons for his anger with the younger. He drummed his fingers on the sides of the bed where he had rested his hands to avoid punching something again. He inhaled deeply. "Not as stupid as you just sounded." He leveled a long look to his younger brother. "You. You act recklessly without backup and get yourself hurt. I'm not the one you should fear about recourse." he shook his head. "Why do you insist on doing things alone? I can't always be there to back you up and protect you!"

Lixes gave a slight twitch as he was told that he sounded stupid, "I'm sure I do." He muttered, leaning his head against the side of the window, taking in a breath that he held, before he let it slowly. He had to keep his calm or else his fool brother would go off punching other random objects... and then what? Nothing good would come of that and he wouldn't be able to go get healed since the two of them were grounded for the foreseeable future. There was another twitch from him as his brother set about lecturing him in a manner had him having to count backwards from ten to keep calm. Calm Lixes, calm... no letting the temper that you know you got from your Earthling father get free he told himself in his head. He had to remain calm... but it wasn't meant to be. Not when it seemed that Drexl was just picking at things like one did a scab. Giving a sighing sound he said in a muttered tone of voice under his breath, "Of course you can't be there..."

Drexl heard his brother. How could he not? This was a small room. With a heavy sigh he fell back on his bed. Letting out a groan. "What do you want from me, Lix!?!?! Do you hate the choices I'm making that much?" he looked at his brother. "There was going to be a room for you...I wasn't going to leave you out...I had ideas to make you a space so you could train with me and have a home base for your adventures." He rolled to his side muttering. "I'm sorry I ever met Jerami if your going to act like this." he was convinced that his brother was jealous of Jerami and therefore was lashing out at Drexl for leaving him behind.

Lixes turned around to look at his brother, his mismatched eyes going a bit wide, before he felt the slightest sting of tears hit them. It was something that he hide by whirling around again, quickly scrubbing at them, not wanting to look that weak in front of Drexl. He gave a little shake of his head then said, "I see..." Deep breaths, Lixes, deep breaths he told himself in his head, counting down again from ten. At the mention of Jerami he gave another shake of his head, "Don't." Hopping up from his perch but not look at his brother he just said, "Just... don't. I won't have that sort of guilt tripping on my head." He'd never felt the desire to deck Drexl until now... but he'd do his best to ignore the desire.

Drexl hit the soft bed as he growled out. Not looking at his sibling. "What do you expect!?! You started that guilt trip when you put the thought I'd choose Jerami over you!! I can't!!!" he sat up to look at his younger. "There is no choice! Its either I save both of you or I die trying! I will not be made to choose between two of the most important people in my life. It wasn't fair of you to say that!" Drexl was crying. Not realizing it. "That's what angered me!" He fell back again into his pillows. "Your my brother! Why do I have to chose to let you die? I won't. I refuse the reality that takes you from me." he covered his eyes with a arm. "I refuse the possibility that I lose everything I love because I have to choose." he felt his throat close up. Rendering him speechless. He sniffled softly. "Why are you angry with me for wanting to keep you alive longer? Why do you have to do things alone?" it was nearly a whisper that escaped him. His emotions high.

Lixes turned to look at his brother for a moment, starring at him, remaining silent until the last question asked of him. He have a lopsided smile that didn't reach his eyes, eyes that reflected for a moment every bit of lonleliness he was feeling of late, and he said, "Because I have to do it alone... I'm all that's left." Looking away he said, "We had plans when we were younger. We were going to become an adventuring group, we were going to go all over the place, go to see what Zena looked like... then Arron was gone and we haven't seen him for a while... and you're settling down with Jerami and you have no interest in what I do. I'm all that's left so I'll do it on my own, everything we were going to do." Lifting a hand he gave it a wave and said, "I don't need you to save me so forget I said anything. You should save Jerami, he's far more fragile then I am. You two should settle down, get married, have some kids maybe? I will do the fighting myself so that you don't have to."

Drexl flinched as the younger spoke. Every statement felt like a spike through him. He hiccuped. Then slowly sat up. "Who ever said I was going to abandon that? I was settling outside of the house to set up our base." he wiped at the tears. Shaking his head. "You assumed too much, little brother. I never told you because I wanted it to be your birthday surprise." he admitted. "I was going to get Dad's permission and everything." he pulled his knees to rest his chin on them. "Jerami would be our personal healer for the group...I was going to be the defender. That's what I was hoping...Jerami didn't know anything. I was going to talk with him in a few days because I'm close to finishing."

"Don't, Drexl." Lixes said, giving a shake of his head, "It's not fair to drag you around doing hero things when I know you don't approve. If I told you even a bit of what I've done of late you'd just think I was crazy, you'd never approve or what to come along." He thought for a moment on some of the things he'd done, the things he'd fought with, and he just... shook his head again. He didn't want to think too hard on all of it since some of it involved crossing blades with the most dangerous thing in Jauhar. Crossing his arms over his chest he looked away and said, "Besides, it's no possible anymore anyway. Would you really endanger him by bringing him away from Andile while the bug mages skulk about?" Even if Drexl said that he was planning on doing such a thing, something Lixes didn't believe for a second, it was no longer in the cards. So long as the Dretch were about they were trapped here as well as bugs stuck in a jar... and they were grounded on top of that. So a bug inside a jar that was inside a jar... which sounded complicated and with a sigh he sat back down on the window sill again. "Just... don't worry about it, Drexl."

Drexl looked at his brother and threw a pillow at the sullen youth. "No. You don't. You're not allowed to do stupid things unless you got the right backup for it." he sighed, wiping at his eyes again. "I love you. I'm going to be stubborn about protecting you and Jerami. Thus why the home base. You're still getting a room there. No arguments. I'm still your big brother as much as you seem to wanna fight me on it." He threw another pillow at the other. "Now give me back my pillows." he pouted.

"I will keep it in mind but no promises that I will actually be staying there." That was something that just sounded... awful. Not that he didn't like Drexl and his princess but the idea of being a third wheel tagging along with a happily settled down couple was just not for him. He'd leave them to do whatever it was that couples did, kissing and the like, things that he wasn't really interested in himself at the moment since he'd met nobody that interested him in that way. Drexl might have been in love with someone since he was a youngling but it wasn't that way for Lixes thus leaving him free and unattached. He would have to move along forward with his adventuring alone once the way had been opened, this he knew. He wouldn't rely on Drexl no matter how much his brother might want to push the issue. Glancing his way he said, "I won't fight you on the fact that you the big brother. Your older and... well, bigger." Which was annoying to no end. He'd make such a better hero if he was Drexl's size. As the other asked for his pillows back Lixes went about picking them up, put them together, then sat on them, "They're mine now. You shouldn't have thrown them away like that." He told his brother, sticking his tongue out at him.

Drexl made a face. "You brat!!!" he made to get up then just reached over to snag pillows off Lixes bed. "Well, fine. I'll just take yours." he smirked smugly at the other. They'd talk more later, he was sure that something would spark this conversation later on. Maybe when they were older and Lixes seemed more willing to open up to him.
