As tasteless as the crystals were, food was food, and Kissling could not complain. The fact that he was able to go into the kitchen and eat as much as he wanted whenever he wanted was only tempered by the fact that he wasn't tempted to eat more than necessary to feel full. If the crystals had had any flavor to them, he probably would have gorged himself. The blonde homeless young man couldn't remember having ever had access to so much free sustenance in his life. The best part was that he didn't even need to do anything in exchange for it as he was usually used to.
Perhaps he was a bit more trusting about the world and its inhabitants than he should have been, but that had always been Kissling's way, even as a civilian. That very well could have attributed to why he was destitute, but having never had much, he didn't really dwell on his misfortunes or what he could do to get out of poverty. He lived on luck and the generosity of others, sometimes attempting to perform certain tasks or chores in exchange, and he was okay with such a life. The twenty-year-old was too useless and ignorant to get a proper job, so he made due with what he could manage. With his lifestyle the way it was, however, he was constantly having to find a new place to spend the night, so it was nice to have a reliable place to stay with a roof over his head for once.
What was more was that though he was constantly meeting new people, this was one of his first chances to spend time with the same group of people for a span longer than a day or two. Living on the streets could be lonely, so Kissling decided to take advantage of the situation and try to get to know the people he was staying with if he could. Perhaps they might even have wanted to be friends. Few wanted to get to know a desperate, poor, homeless vagabond, but as a Dark Mirror Sensei, he had a chance to be seen the same as everyone else in his court. The idea of being someone entirely different was thrilling and he had enjoyed the short time he'd been a senshi so far even if he had very little idea so to what was going on. No one else really seemed to know much either, so he didn't see the point of worrying.
Surprisingly Kissling found that some of the court wanted to avoid eating the crystals offered to them and some didn't. Many seemed at least reluctant. From what he gathered, they weren't eating out of distrust of the queen and the strange world Solamnia. However, even if the blond had been the cautious sort, he had gone hungry too many times before to willingly deprive his body of food of any kind. He knew what it was like to be on the verge of starving and no consequence other than death could have deterred him from eating when he was hungry and food was so readily available. Even with the threat of death, he might not have consumed crystals regardless, because if he was going to die, he wouldn't have had to worry about it anymore and at least he would have died full.litian ((Sorry this ended up being kinda random. x_x Couldn't concentrate very well at work, but hopefully it works! If there's anything I need to change, though, please let me know!))

Whilst there were some amongst the Court who appeared to be trying to avoid eating the crystals, Sadalsuud wasn't one of them.
True she had abstained from doing so that first night, but there was had been going on - not least the fact that she had truly thought that she was going to die in the collapsing room and had found herself in a place that was most definitely not Destiny City.
But whilst she didn't have a problem with eating the crystals, Sadalsuud found it impossible to equate them with real food–
And she really, really missed real food.
As it happened, whilst she had made her way to the dining room, Sadalsuud hadn't actually done so with the intention of eating anything - instead her destination was a discreet hallway that she had spotted on a previous visit, a part of her curious to see where it led.
She found herself in what appeared to be a kitchen of sorts if the stoves and cooking utensils were anything to go by...
And it seemed like she wasn't the only one who had decided to check out the hallway and the kitchen by extension as there was a blond senshi in there.
Her lips quirked up in a friendly smile as she stepped closer, the senshi one that was part of the Court albeit not one that she recognised - although if truth be told that wasn't particularly hard given that Sadalsuud didn't know that many of her Court.
"Hello" she called out in greeting, her cheerful voice friendly.Kitomyx It's perfect = have a tag :3

Kissling froze guiltily upon having been caught in the kitchen, thinking at first than he was in trouble. Once he registered that it was a fellow senshi who had called out to him, however, and that she seemed cheerful and friendly about it, he quickly greeted her back.
"Hi!" he said, one hand raised in hello and another holding a crystal to his lips. "Are you here 'cause you're hungry?" He pointed behind him to a pantry. "There's a whole bunch of cut-up crystals in boxes up there that are easy to eat."
Then he seemed to remember his manners. "My senshi name is Kissling! I know it's kind of funny, but I guess I'm the Senshi of Kisses, so it's easy to remember." He laughed lightly as he gestured to the pattern of gold four-leaf clovers on her own outfit. "Are you...the Senshi of Luck? Because I could really use some of that."litian ((Haha, okay~ XD Thank you!))

Sadalsuud couldn't help but feel a little amused at the way that the other senshi froze at the sound of her voice because it kind of made her think of someone caught with their hand in the cookie.
She shook her head at the question, "Oh no I ate earlier" she said, before admitting "I just wanted to find out where the hallway went."
She gestured as she spoke towards the end of the hallway that she had recently stepped out off as she added "I spotted it on a previous visit and got curious."
She shook her head again at the next question, the question of what sort of senshi she was one that Sadalsuud had been asked a few times.
"No I'm the senshi of clover" she admitted, her smile widening as she continued "And it's nice to meet you Kissling" because it was always good to meet new members of her court - even if the circumstances could have been better...
Of course she wasn't complaining - well at least she was trying not to - because Sadalsuud also knew that things could have been a lot worse.
"My senshi name is Sadalsuud."

"Ooh, clovers? Can you make them grow?" he asked, his face lighting up at the prospect. "Clovers aren't poisonous, right? Do you think we could eat them?" It might not have been the most delicious meal, but who knew? At least they were more likely to have been able to taste them than the crystals and Kissling was pretty open to tasting any flavor he could right about then.
"Nice to meet you too, Sadalsuud!" Regarding her more closely, he examined her up and down before a slow smile crept across his face. The girl seemed to be in her later teens, but short as Kissling was for a guy, Sadalsuud seemed shorter still, and petite. "You're really cute, especially with that beauty mark. And your green really sets off your eyes."
The Senshi of Kisses turned to go raid the pantry to see if he could take a box or two back to his room with him. It was still so weird having his own room. "You probably get that a lot, though. Do you have a boyfriend? Or a girlfriend?"

Sadalsuud shook her head at the question "No I can't make them grow" she admitted "And I actually don't know if you can eat clovers - but they're kind of like grass so I don't think they're poisonous."
Well okay may not quite like grass but clovers did grow in it - or maybe it was more accurate to say that they grew through it.
Her cheeks pinked slightly at the compliments but at the question Sadalsuud shook her head again "No no boyfriend or girlfriend either" she admitted, her voice turning rueful as she added "My Dad would kind have a fit if I started dating..."
Her voice trailed off, the smile fading at the thought of her parents because truth be told she missed them - missed both of them so very badly.

Kissling's smile dimmed somewhat upon hearing Sadalsuud couldn't make clovers grow, but he hadn't had too much hope to begin with, so it wasn't too much of a disappointment. "That's okay. At least we still have stuff to eat."
He beamed wider when he glanced back over his shoulder to see the green-eyed girl's complexion grew pink. "What? No! I don't believe it." When she mentioned her father, however, he chuckled. "Oh. So that's why. It'd make sense for him to be protective of his pretty daughter."
The older senshi was about to turn back to the pantry again when he noticed Sadalsuud's expression change. "Sadalsuud...? What's the matter?" He tried to smile a little brighter in an effort to lighten the mood. "He can't keep you from dating forever, can he?"

"N..no" and perhaps if the thought of her parents hadn't hit so strongly then Kissling's comments would have elicited a smile–
But instead Sadalsuud found herself shaking her head slightly.
"No it's not that" she said, unable to hide the sad note that slipped into her voice as she admitted quietly "I... I just want to go home."
She flushed again slightly, the words sounding ungrateful to her ears, before adding quickly "Not that I don't appreciate everything that Queen Altea has done for us because I do - I really do - and I'm super grateful that she saved us and has been kind enough to let us stay here. I just..."
She looked down at the floor her voice small "I miss my parents and my friends - and I miss eating food that tastes like actual food."

Of course Kissling knew full well that the prevention of dating hadn't been what had wiped the smile off his new acquaintance's face. He had simply suggested it in the hopes of winning back that smile or even earning a laugh, but his attempt had been in vain.
He coughed up a sad little laugh of his own as Sadalsuud seemed to feel the need to clarify to him how grateful she was to Altea. He was grateful too, but it wasn't as if he would have minded had she not been.
Kissling followed her gaze to the floor, unsure of what to say. He didn't really have any actual friends, nor did he keep in touch with his mother and he had never known his father, so he couldn't have supposed what she might have been feeling. He was also terrible at discussing serious topics of conversation and it embarrassed him so.
What should he do or say? To have tried to make light of the situation might have seemed like he was making light of her problems, but he couldn't entirely understand her problems, either, because he didn't have them. And perhaps he had his own share of problems, but it wasn't like she needed to know those. Likely she would have just thought less of him for them and not wanted anything to do with him.
Even if they had just gotten to know each other, they were court members and he appreciated that they were in this together, so the idea that she might not want anything to do with him stung.
Oh. That was something.
He set down the box he had taken from the pantry and left it to go to her side. "You're not alone," he assured her, referring not only to missing the things she missed, but also going through the trials she was facing. He pat her arm consolingly.
"What's that saying? 'If there's a will, there's a way'? There are a whole lot of people here with the will to go back to family and friends and actual food, so we're definitely going to find a way. But who knows? Maybe we'll find it in as something as simple as playing Jenga with these boxed crystals."
Walking back over, he went to go fetch the couple of boxes he had found in the pantry. Kissling opened one and picked up the first crystal his fingers touched, holding it up with a renewed smile. "Wanna try?"

Caught up as she was in her thoughts Sadalsuud hadn't noticed that Kissling had moved closer and the gentle pat to her arm had her finally looking up, her green eyes momentarily startled.
But after a few moments she eventually nodded.
"I'm sorry" she said "I'm just being silly - I..."
She hesitated for a moment before continuing " I'm not the only one stuck here - we all are - we're all stuck in this together."
She managed at last to smile, small compared to those of her normal smiles but still nonetheless a smile "But you're right about everyone trying to find a way back."
Because a lot of people were looking - Queen Altea, Mr Rem, Kiuchi, Mr Avior and Sinope amongst others–
And Sadalsuud knew she had to do her part too, which meant that she couldn't let herself wallow in a pity party - not when all the others were working so hard to find a way back.
Green eyes looked curiously at the crystal that Kissling held out to her, but after a moment Sadalsuud nodded with another small smile as she reached out to take the offered crystal "Yes."

Kissling hadn't thought Sadalsuud was being silly. Her desires seemed perfectly reasonable to the blonde, but he didn't know how to say so. It would have required more seriousness and the solemnity of the situation was already making him uncomfortable enough as it was.
Thankfully for him, she seemed to soon be smiling again. Whether due to him or Sadalsuud having cheered herself up, he was relieved.
"Great!" At her word of agreement, he took her hand, laughing, and headed toward the dining hall where they could sit at the long table to play. "Let's go!"
