Ever since he had talked to Acubens about her book of DMC history and uncovered more about their court from Kallichore and Scylla, there was a lot Ptolemy wanted to ask Remarque. However, he hadn't seen the prince for a while and had been unsure about how to get a hold of him.
There were their compact mirrors to contact each other with and Acubens had told him how to use them, but he hadn't been sure if he needed the receiver's permission or something else to reach them through said mirrors. Furthermore, Remarque was royalty and a leader of the Dark Mirror Court. He was probably busy enough without being at the beck and call of others whenever they thought the needed him or wanted to talk to him.
While the call of the mirrors to Mirrorspace had almost given him an opportunity to speak with him again, too many others had surrounded the prince and stayed close. Ptolemaeus hadn't wanted to overwhelm the man by adding himself as another to that crowd. Not then and certainly not afterward when they had met Altea and Remarque had seemed to be wanting to try to keep a low profile.
Only when most of the hullabaloo had died down and each court member seemed to be doing their own thing or in pairs did the super senshi finally consider approaching the royal. There were so many things he wanted to ask him - now, not just about the court's origins and what he had heard from others, but also about the situation they were currently in and what he thought of it. Perhaps by examining both the past and the present, there were mysteries they could solve and secrets they could uncover.

Even in the castle, Remarque was fairly easy to find. The door to his room was almost always open, unless he was sleeping. He had spent some time exploring, mapping out the area and trying to keep a log—mostly because he was so used to Mirrorspace changing, he half expected this place to change, too.
It didn’t, and he’d wound up walking the halls of one side so much than he didn’t need a map to navigate. Today, he’d spent time in the dining hall, searching for any sort of supplies that could count as sustenance outside of the little crystals they’d been provided. He was hungry for real food, but his patience was wearing thin and he was getting hungry.
He’d taken some silverware out of spite. Altea had far too much; she wouldn’t miss it. It wasn’t like she was hosting any big parties any time soon, anyway.
He had been on his way to the library when he noticed Ptolemaeus passing through the same hallway as he was and, having not spoken to the male in some time, raised a hand in greeting.
“A sight for sore eyes,” he greeted. “I was getting tired of catching those servants out of the corner of my eye. It’s good to see a living, breathing, human. What are you up to?”

Ptolemaeus had to chuckle upon being identified as a 'living, breathing human'. "Nice to see you too, Rem," he answered with a fond smile. "Actually...I've been meaning to track you down since before the mirrors called us to Mirrorspace. There were things I wanted to discuss then, but of course the number of matters has grown since. I hope you have some time to spare." The bow he gave was very slight just in case the prince was still being cautious. The gesture was something Ptolemy would have likely performed for anyone, but he could understand Remarque's concern about potentially being exposed as a royal to people he still didn't trust. "Walk with me?"
He spread his arm toward the corridor as he spoke his verbal invitation. "Or we could find somewhere to sit, if you prefer. Your face is looking a little thin." The observation reminded the super senshi that Remarque had been one of the ones who had refused to eat the crystals that had been offered as nourishment and he was filled with sympathy for the man. He was probably starving. But perhaps talk would get his mind off of his stomach and his body's sustenance needs, at least temporarily.
"Rem...before all of this happened, I was asking some of the White Moon Senshi about our court's history and how it had come into being. I'm glad I learned what I did before we arrived here. It's made me wonder if there aren't connections to be made between the past and the present." He tilted his head at the golden-haired prince. "An Eternal Senshi told me that Ares, the old Queen of our court you mentioned, used to be a Parallel Senshi. She said that as a senshi from a parallel world, her energy signature was 'in-between'...neither chaos nor order. Do you know if that's true?"

“Right now? I’ve got nothing but time to spare,” Remarque assured, clearly fine with the idea to walk with Ptolemaeus as they spoke. He grumbled something under his breath when Ptolemaeus noted that his face looked thin, but he was too prideful to take a seat even if that’s what he might have preferred.
It wasn’t, though, so he started walking just to prove it.
“I’ll have a good burger or two when we get home and be fine, don’t worry about me.” He was quick to jump into conversation that wasn’t about his own wellbeing; it was barely half a breath later that he was answering, “There might be some connections, but I don’t now how much stock I’d put into that theory, yet. Ares was a Parallel Senshi before my time. I don’t know what her energy signature felt like before she was a Dark Mirror Senshi. But, I did meet a cat, once. She had a strange energy signature, not quite chaos nor order, and an affiliation with Ares. I assumed she was as much of a Parallel as Ares had been. She had particular disdain for both her and the Court. But her energy signature wasn’t like Altea’s.”
His meeting with the cat had been a long time ago, and when he thought back to her he only strongly recalled her attitude, and her insistence on manners. She had little of her own, though.
“But I think it would be unwise to think that we might see some similarities. If mirrors could connect one universe to another, we could be anywhere right now.”
