She hadn't wanted it to come down to this. She hadn't wanted to pull out the big guns, to cause trouble for anyone - especially not for Kibby, who seemed to have a really weird fondness for the Queen... but drastic times called for drastic measures. Lovejoy knew what she had to do. It hadn't been hard, snatching a crystal. They were everywhere, after all - people ate them, for goodness sakes! Finding fabric from the Queen's attire, though, that had been a little more tricky. A little tear here, a little tear there and Kibi wouldn't even know that LJ had swiped some of the cloth from one of the gowns in the closet (oh gods, she hoped it was the Queen's, at least...). Secluding herself to a corner of one of the vacant rooms in the castle (because doing it in her own room would clearly look suspicious to her roommate), it had taken all of ten minutes to fasten together a makeshift voodoo doll, though the resemblance to the Queen was.. questionable, at best. But that didn't matter. All that mattered was finding a way home, where her bed and dinner was surely waiting her. Desperate times called for desperate measures.

A skinny, blonde senshi emerged from the bathroom yawning and stretching. He blinked sleepily in the dimmed light of the crystals as he made out a figure in his room and froze. If only there was a switch to turn the crystal lights on and off at will, but it seemed they only automatically dimmed for a number of hours the senshi could only presume represented 'night' in this world.
In a few seconds, however, his eyes had adjusted and he was able to make out the shape of not a monster or one of those crystalline servants, but a fellow Dark Mirror Court member...with a crystal bundled in fancy fabric. The blonde stared for a second or two more, just trying to reassure himself he wasn't dreaming, before giving an uneasy little smile to the stranger. Senshi or not, he still wasn't sure what they had come into his room for. For all he knew, they could have been possessed.
"Um...hello," he greeted, his voice loud enough to be decently audible, but his tone timid. He raised a shaky hand to accompany his spoken greeting. "Are you sure you're in the right room?"Ghouliboo ((Sorry this took me so long to respond to, but I love your opening! XD Hope you don't mind if I said it was Kissling's room, but if you do, just let me know and I'll change it! wink ))

She was so caught up in her crafting that she hadn't heard any noise coming from the bathroom, not until a voice called out, clearly addressing her. The sound that came out of Lovejoy was nothing short of a squeak, the teenager clearly startled by the sudden question. Oh gods, she hadn't checked the bathroom to see if there was anyone actually in the room - she'd simply judged by the immaculate state that no one had bothered to occupy it... darn those crystal servants, darn them and their cleaning skills. "It's... not my room," she said cautiously, as if trying to make sense of it all in her own noggin, "So... it's the right room. Because I don't need to be in my room to be doing this." Her hands rose and she displayed her project, as if any and everyone who saw it should automatically know what she was making. "I'm Lovejoy. Or LJ, if it's easier." Dark eyes returned to her shoddy excuse for a doll, fingers trying to tie strings together to make it look more presentable. What should she do first? Crack its head off? Snap the crystal in half? Could she crack it in half, even? She didn't want to torture the seemingly innocent Queen, especially if she was truly innocent... something quick and fast would do the trick, yep. Kitomyx It's perfect! And LOL, thank you for putting up with her, sleep and food deprivation has not been kind to the poor senshi...

Kissling, as a civilian, had never really had a room to call his own and wasn't used to having much privacy. Thus he wasn't particularly distressed, angry, or otherwise upset to find a stranger in said room so long as they didn't have any intention of harming him. At the white-haired senshi's squeak, he realized she was just as startled to find him occupying the place as he had been to find her and his smile eased up into something more friendly.
It was true, though. If it hadn't been for those darn crystal servants and their amazing cleaning skills, Kissling's bed, at the very least, would have been a mess. He had been ceaselessly astonished by their diligence in housekeeping, so he definitely couldn't have blamed the young woman for thinking it empty.
"Oh...okay," he said, scratching the back of his head and continuing to smile as his gaze lingered on the crystal she held. "Are you...uh...making something?" It almost looked like she was pretending the crystal was a baby or a child, but who was he to judge? It seemed a lot of their court had gone without much food or sleep, though, so he couldn't help but wonder if the project might have been the result of delirium or something similar. His unexpected visitor certainly looked tired.
"That's a cool name!" the blonde remarked upon Lovejoy's introduction. That, at least, was something he could understand. "I guess my sailor scout name is Kissling. Nice to meet you, LJ!"
When she returned her attention to the crystal and fabric she seemed to be trying to work with, he came closer to get a better look - close enough to be touching shoulders. "Do you like the crystals a lot?" Oh! Or maybe she was trying to wrap it? "Are you trying to make a present to give to someone?"xGhouliboo ((Aww, poor thing XD; I'm so happy to get to finally meet her, but I'm sorry she has to be subjected to Kissling in the process. And when sleep/food-deprived, no less!))

"Kissling," she reiterated the name as if attempting to store it in her memory banks for later usage. If she was lucky, she'd remember her own name by the time everything is said and done. "I'd say it was nice to meet you, but under the circumstances..." She paused. "Well, I guess it's still nice to meet you, I just wish it was under better circumstances!" Nodding her head, the white haired senshi got back to her task. Legs crossed themselves as her eyes squinted and fingertips went to work. If only she had her tools with her, this would have been so much easier! Ugh - just a little bit more... there! Her concentration was thrown off when Kissling started asking her about the doll. Whoops. Guess it didn't look as much like a voodoo doll as she'd hoped it would. "No I don't like crystals," she scoffed, almost offended, "I used to think they were cool, until that's all there was to eat. Just a bunch of mysterious crystals and not a french fry in sight." She'd even eat a cold, stale fry at this point. "It's... kind of a gift. For me. Or you," Gesturing towards the senshi in pink, she offered a smile. "You wanna get out of here too, dontcha Kissy?"

Leiko laughed as Lovejoy revised her statement. "Is there something you don't like about these circumstances?" he asked, sounding oblivious to her discontent. "Maybe the food isn't that great, but we're living in a castle, right? I never thought I'd be able to stay in a castle! What better circumstances could there be?"
He continued to watch as she once more attempted to fiddle with her materials until she finally seemed satisfied with whatever she had been trying to do.
Her response regarding the crystals seemed to sincerely surprise him until he realized she was referring to them being all they had to eat. Then he nodded in enthusiastic agreement. "I wish they tasted different. Altea seemed to think they did, but no matter how many I eat, I can't tell one from another." His mouth watered at the mention of a french fry. "At least they're something, though, I guess."
Tickle-me-pink eyes blinked inquisitively at Lovejoy as she tried to explain her gift. "Well...yeah, I guess it'd be nice to have real food again." Even if that also meant no more bed or room or housekeeping and a return to a life on the streets. But at least back on Earth there were occasionally people he could coerce into letting him stay with them. In this world, he felt weird trying to get close with anyone since he was powered up and didn't feel like himself. He didn't feel free to do as he pleased, and if he was honest with himself, it was constraining.
"Is that crystal going to get us out of here?" He tilted his head at the bundle in her hands as if seeing it from a different angle might have revealed what Lovejoy had in mind.

"Kissy, Kissy..." her tongue clucked as she shook her head. One hand moved up to tug the other senshi down to her level as her voice lowered, as if she were confiding a secret with her new companion. "Haven't you ever read any fairytale books? Horror stories? Beautiful castles are never just beautiful castles. There's always something dark lurking around." Setting the doll in her lap, she started counting off on her fingers. "Dragons. Monsters. Ghosts. Witches. Vampires. The list goes on and on - it may feel like a dream, but there's always a catch." And LJ simply hadn't found the catch yet. Attention returned to her doll and she glanced down at the pitiful looking thing. "Kissy - can you keep a secret?"

"Eh?" Kissling's eyes widened as he was tugged down, his skinny, 5'4" frame flimsy and unable to provide resistance as he was caught off-guard. His usual, natural clumsiness would have ordinarily caused him to tip over onto Lovejoy, but he was able to grab onto her shoulder to steady himself in time. "But...but not all beautiful castles have something dark lurking around, right? Like, um...Cinderella." Then he laughed. "If there is something dark lurking around, it's probably the Dark Mirror Court."
He marveled at the list of creatures as Lovejoy named them off. "Wow...do you really think we could find any of those things around here? Like a real witch who can do magic?" Pausing, he noted. "Wait, can't we do magic?" The more he thought about it, the less reason he saw to be afraid.
But he agreed about there always being a catch and it was concerning that none of them knew what it was yet. This life of luxury he'd been indulging in since they got here seemed way too good to be true. "Isn't the fact that we have to eat tasteless crystals enough of a catch?" he asked, sounding hopeful in spite of his doubts.
When the teenage senshi asked Kissing a question, he smiled nervously, unsure he would be able to shoulder the burden of such an ominous-seeming secret. But he didn't want to let his fellow court member down. "Yeeess...um..." Pink eyes darted to her crudely-made doll. "...are you planning something?"

"You'd be amazed at what could be lurking around any corner," she whispered, eyes darting around like the crazy person she apparently had become. True, she hadn't seen any vampires or dragons roaming the hallways but that didn't mean that they couldn't be there, somewhere. Or, gods forbid, doppelgangers running around sharing the faces of those she knew! His questions gave her pause as she tilted her head. Yes, they did have magic... or at least she supposed they still had magic. But were they technically witches if they only knew one or two spells that didn't tend to differentiate? "I only know one, so I don't think I qualify for witchhood," she muttered, sounding actually rather disappointed at the concept. Kissypoo here had a point about being subjected to the lack of tasty food, but she didn't think that was exactly a punishment. No, the punishment probably came when crystals started sprouting out of people's limbs as a result from eating too many. Crystal monsters, even. "I'm making a voodoo doll," she finally explained, shoving the creation into the boy's hands. "See? Doesn't it look like the Queen, sort of??"

"Ohhh," the blond answered, nodding and agreeing with each comment as Lovejoy made them. He patted her in what he hoped was a consoling manner at her expressed disappointment, but he himself was grateful to be able to do any magic at all.
"Magic is magic, isn't it?" he asked, beaming. "I bet you could convince someone you were a witch if you really wanted to." That reminded him of a show someone had told him about where magical girls - like senshi - turned into witches...but that hadn't been a good thing. "I think you're great just the way you are, though!"
When the subject of a voodoo doll came up, though, Kissling thought he understood why Lovejoy wanted to be a witch. "What?!" He stared at the makeshift doll. "But...but...why would you want to do that?" Casting the white-haired senshi a horrified look, he clutched the doll to his chest protectively.

Hey, Kissy didn't have such a bad idea - LJ bet she could convince someone else that she was a witch.... but as fun as it sounded, it didn't really help her out. Not now, not when she needed math homework to do itself or the snooty girl at school to get a bad case of the acne. Nope, pretending was fun and games but it didn't help. The boy seemed genuinely shocked at her revelation, causing the teenager's eyebrows to furrow. "Why wouldn't I want to do that?" One hand rose and her fingers moved, as if assisting in her explanation. "If the Queen knows of a way to get us out and she's not telling, we gotta figure out a way to make her tell. I'm not saying we stick pins and all that nonsense in her, y'know, torture wise..." She paused, then looked harder at the boy. ".... unless you have some pins on you, Kissy?" Kitomyx (Feel free to keep the doll, it's probably safer than her parading around with it, LOL)

The twenty-year-old may not have looked or acted his age and he had only just become a senshi, but he had had more life experience than the teenager and practically all of it had been as a homeless individual on the streets of Destiny City. He had seen and even found out first-hand how people were often mistreated and hurt one another in desperate times and he didn't wish that on anyone if he could help it.
Kissling had no idea if Lovejoy's voodoo doll would have really worked, uneducated and gullible as he was, but he wasn't willing to take the chance. "What if she really doesn't know, though? Wouldn't you just be hurting an innocent person?"
He smiled awkwardly at her request for pins. "Even if we did have some, I think the most you'd be able to stab is her clothes." Withdrawing the doll from his chest, he held it up. "I don't think any sort of pin I know can poke through crystal." Still holding the effigy, he used his free hand to pat Lovejoy's shoulder.
"I know this place can be scary, especially since we're stuck here and we hardly know anything about it, but at least we're all in this together, right? If we trust each other and just..." He glanced at the doll. "...stay calm, I'm sure we'll find some way to get home soon."

She frowned, clearly sulking from what the older senshi had to say. Deep inside, she assumed he was right anyways - crystal was a booger and a half to break, so trying to stab things into it would prove fruitless. Even if she had been able to snap the crystal in half, who was to say that it would even work, since she lacked any real hair or skin from the person in question? "Yeah, yeah," she muttered, sounding more defeated than anything else. The hand on her shoulder received a pitying pat in return, dark eyes turning to look at the pink clad young man as she sighed. "I guess if we are destined to die here that it'll be pretty epic, huh?"

"Hehehe...I guess so?" Kissling answered with a shaky laugh. "But why would it be epic? Because we're in a castle?"
He sighed, now sulking himself. "But I really hope no one dies. I just became a senshi. I don't want anyone in our court dying before I even get to know them." The blonde young man regarded the crystal representation solemnly in his hand.
Then he beamed at Lovejoy. "You're so cool for thinking of this as a way to save us, though! I never would have been able to."

Pushing down with both hands, the teenager slowly rose up from the carpet she'd dedicated as her sitting space for the past few minutes. It hadn't struck her until just then that she was still occupying an already claimed room and Kissy was probably in preference to having not-strangers taking up space in his room. Right. Right. "Anyone can die, Kissington," she pointed out, moving to offer her hand to the young man she'd tugged down to the ground only minutes earlier, "It's all about going out with a bang. With a good story. No one wants to be known as the kid who got hit by a bus or died choking on a cracker or something." Eyes glanced down at the doll in his grip. Maybe the guy was right, maybe the doll wasn't the right way to go about things. She'd have to think harder, deeper, better. "Keep the doll, Kissaroo. I'll figure something else out, just you wait and see." Nodding her head to no one or nothing in particular, she twirled around, skirt whooshing in the process as black boots made their way out of the other senshi's room. Kitomyx Finish us up? LOL I'm so sorry she's a nutter ;;; Kiss has been far too sweet to her <3
