Lixes had been hanging out for a while now outside of his house, waiting and watching, until his parents finally left. They were heading out on a walk that they shared in the evenings, just the two of them, and it was that walk that would be his ticket inside. After waiting for them to get a safe distance from home he came out of the spot he was hiding in, hefting his hammer over his shoulder, before he headed for home. He wanted to get inside, get some clean clothes, then slip away to the nearby river so that he could wash up. He needed to clean up not only himself but his clothing as well. Had it just been dirt he could have written that off as just being from a tussle in the village with friends. Now though, with blood on his back, he would never be able to sneak about. They would know that he'd been up to something and the questions would start, questions that would likely land him in his room and grounded for the rest of his life. Or at least until the Dretch had been taken care of and who knew how long that would late. Giving a sigh he headed inside, leaving his hammer at the door where weapons belonged, and started toward the room he shared with his brothers. Here was to hoping that Drexl was out with his princess today.

Lixes was not lucky. Drexl wasn't just home, he was sitting on the table that was set up in their room to allow the brothers to polish their weapons. He leaned on that table with his arms crossed. The male waited till Lixes wasn't paying attention before he spoke up. "So. That incident out in town didn't really click did it? Where the blazes were you, Lix?" his tone was dark. Lixes certainly got him to a point that the sibling most likely would of never seen as Drexl tried super hard not to lose his temper.

Lixes gave a rather loud squeaking sound as a voice spoke up behind him, alerting him to the fact that he hadn't made it. He'd been caught and he turned around as though he were readying for his execution... but instead of either of his parents sitting there it was Drexl. Something that had him sighing in relief. It was relief that was short lived though given that his bigger, older brother was looking none too pleased at the moment. Odd to see him looking that angry given that Drexl rarely showed that emotion. After a moment of shifting in place and thinking about it he said, "Ahhh... yeah, it did click! I mean... that is why I had to do what I did. If I didn't she'd of left town all alone and she could have been grabbed!" Wait... he just told Drexl that the girl he'd gone after left town thus telling him that Lixes himself had left town. Oops... let's try that one again. "She needed help! She's not from around here and the local wild life was hassling her." He said, deciding to try another angle.

There was a long pause. "So. You played hero...again. After I told you, we weren't ready to go anywhere near that issue." he stayed where he was. He knew if he moved it wouldn't be a kind gesture. Instead he sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Lixes. While I'm sure there's a few people out there happy you saved a life...bare in mind that our Father's would revive your sorry butt only to put you under themselves if those monsters got ahold of you." He let his hand drop as he looked at his brother. "You know I'm not happy."

Lixes gave a rapid shake of his head, "I didn't play hero, Drexl, I was a hero! I saved her and carried her back to the village on my back! I saw her to a healer who could tend to her condition and her wounds, she's safe because I intervened." He said before crossing his arms over his chest, "I can assure you that there was no playing involved. I was armed and everything." Surely Drexl had to understand, right? What would he do if he saw someone wandering out of the village? What if it was a delicate damsel or perhaps his princess? Giving a sigh he said, "I am aware they wouldn't be pleased, it's why I waited outside for them to go out on their walk before coming inside." He told his brother, walking over toward his dresser, shedding his messy clothes down to his under shorts as he did so. The clothes, dirty with blood and just plain old dirt were draped over a chair while he found something fresh to wear after he got himself cleaned up. "I know that you're not happy but I am sure that she is." He paused, then gave a bit of a smile before he said, "Well, as happy as she can be at least? She was a bit on the prickly side."

Lixes may of been smiling, but Drexl was not. "You didn't tell us anything before you went off...Lixes. Do you hear how foolish that sounds?" his eyes narrowed. He still wasn't moving. He was currently debating on if he should tell their Father's when they got back. The answer was heavily leaning towards: Yes.

Lixes gave a sigh, "It wasn't as though it was a planned trip, Drexl. I was doing what I was told, I was in the village, I was hanging out where there were a decent amount of people even. I just happened to be in a position where I saw the girl leaving. Had I come home to warn everyone she'd of surely been eaten by the time I got back." He told his brother, not understanding what the problem was. He did understand that a girl's life was on the line, right? Turning to face his brother, arms crossed over his chest for a moment he said, "She was younger then us, didn't even have a weapon that I saw, and she wandering into the woods alone. I was at least armed and more prepared then she was." It helped that he also knew the area around Andile pretty well and he knew the wildlife... so what was the problem?

Drexl inhaled slowly. Man his little brother was lucky he didn't have a girlfriend. "What did she look like? Was she there when the incident went down? You realize that word's spread and no one smart is going anywhere alone...if she was going somewhere alone. That's on her. You don't need to put yourself on the line because someone wants to be a idiot..." Now his tone was taking a turn for the harsh. He wasn't happy at all with his brother being reckless with his own well-being. Being a hero was great and all, just don't ever think that someone else was more important to your family than you. The future rider growled as he spoke again. "You can be a hero all you want...when you have backup. Don't EVER think that someone else is more important to us than you..." yes his voice raised when he said 'ever'.

"What did she look like?" He gave a humming sound before he said in a rather excited manner, "She has horns! Well... not horns exactly but crystals that appeared as such." Was she at the incident? Thinking back he had to say that maybe she was there? He'd been paying more attention to his brother and the Dretch then the crowd to be honest. If she was there he didn't quite recall seeing and he definitely hadn't talked to her. There wasn't much chance to talk to anyone save for Drexl before everything went South and he was dragged home. "I never said that I thought that, Drexl... though I'm willing to put all the money in Andile on a bet that if it were Jerami that was wandering off that you'd of pursued. And without running home first." Drexl could act all high and mighty because it was Lixes who'd wandered off again but he knew full well that if it meant saving Jerami that the bigger male would have acted in the same manner that Lixes had. The only difference being that Lixes didn't know the damsel that he'd saved.

There was a long tense silence from Drexl the instant Lixes said that. The bigger hyrbid blinked once, Lixes would see his shoulder twitch. He blinked a second time, his fist collided with the table he was leaning on. There was a sickening sound of wood cracking as well as something else. Drexl didn't show a ounce of pain as he slowly moved his hand to rest back in his lap. There was obvious blood as he might of managed to either break...or crack a few bones. He slowly pushed off the table. "That. Was the wrong thing to say." he told his brother darkly. "I would rather die than have to make the choice between Jerami and any member of our family." as he walked past the other to go clean his hand he turned to look back at his sibling. "Jerami is cherished, but I know his sisters would never allow for him to come to harm."

There was that famous temper that it seemed they all got from their Earthling father Lixes thought to himself as Drexl's fist collided with the table. Better the table then his face though he thought to himself, not really wanting to be on the business end of that punch... but at the same time it was annoying to him that his brother would stand against him in this manner. It was as though Drexl would prefer that he become a house husband instead of a hero or something... an idea that would likely kill Lixes's spirit before he got very far into such a career. Giving a shake of his head he said, "You're just avoiding the subject and you know it by saying that his sisters would look after him. I dodged you and went out on my own so I am sure he's capable of the same." Alright, maybe not? Jerami seemed far too squishy and soft to do that sort of thing but at the moment he didn't really care. It was just the fact of the matter! Gathering clean clothing, as well as his dirty clothing, he muttered at Drexl, "I need to get washed up before our parents get home so are we done?"

He inhaled slowly as he went to where their Father's tended to their injuries. He said nothing to Lixes, didn't want to even look at his stupid stupid brother. As he cleaned his hand, he winced. This was bad. He might of just royally screwed his hand for the rest of his life. There was the sound of a heavy sigh as he figured he'd ask Jerami for help. Lixes would find that as soon as he left the house to clean up at the nearby stream, Miqwe was going to toddle after him. The growing Limbara challenging his master's concern for the sibling that seemed so prone to wander off.

Lixes didn't give his brother another glance as he headed out of the house, various piles of clothing tucked under his arms, hammer in hand. He had to get to the river, clean himself up, clean his clothing up, and then return home. Preferably in a hurried manner. The problem of course being his shirt. How was he to clean his shirt up quickly? He supposed he would figure that out once he got himself to the river he decided, hurrying there as quickly and discretely as he could. Or at least as discretely as one could when running around in their shorts he thought to himself. He was nearly to the river when he realized he wasn't alone. He wasn't being followed by his brother though, but instead by his brother's pet. A strange thing indeed since one would think that the beast would be more loyal to Drexl and therefore be on his side. Giving a snort he said, "Look Little Bit, you should probably head back before that giant idiot starts thinking you're siding with me or something." Best that Drexl didn't take things out on the growing whelp.

Drexl finished with his hand, knowing that he was going to get chewed out by both if not the more protective half of their Fathers. He glanced back to the doorway of his room. Whistling softly. "Pyre...come out here. I'm sorry you suffered through that." he said to the Radaku that had been their guardian since they were younglings. Miqwe gave Lixes a low growling squeak. The beast seemed to be on alert as he looked around for any signs of trouble. After a moment he lumbered over to Lixes, pushing out a rather large rock further into the water for him to use to wash his clothes. He then nuzzled Lixes' side a little.

It took a few moments but the brightly colored radaku finally made his appearance, coming out from under one of the beds in the room. The beast was specially trained to look after the boys but when it came to them arguing among themselves he didn't really seem to know what to do. As such it seemed that the best idea was for him to hide himself and just hope for the best. That was what it seemed at least given that he'd vanished the moment the two started their face off. After a glance around the beast walked over to Drexl, sitting down at his feet, and starred up at him, tail swishing in a slow manner behind him. He seemed a bit on edge from all the fighting and didn't want to wag his tail too soon in case things weren't over yet. At the river Lixes could only give a shake of his head as he said, "It's on you then if he comes stomping down here and yells at you too. I tried to warn you." With that he set to work first scrubbing himself clean and then scrubbing his clothing clean. He wanted to make sure he was able to rid himself of any blood that might be clinging to him after everything he'd been through. Giving an annoyed sound as he cleaned he found himself a bit... miffed, putting it lightly. For all his yelling Drexl hadn't even asked what had happened or what Lixes had done. Of course that was probably a good thing. His brother would have a heart attack and die if he knew so... best that he kept it all to himself when it came down to it.
